The-Know-It-All-Pencil (Invisible Magic Wand Series) by Lois Wickstrom – Review By Candice Estes

The Know-It-All PencilThe Know-It-All Pencil by Lois Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is cute. The artwork is well done and contributes to the story. I like that it is teaching children about how the world sometimes interconnects and sometimes by helping one person, you can help others. Caspian is given a present on his UnBirthday by his grandfather of a pad and a pencil that can write by itself, and seemingly predict the future. It first writes a single word, and once Caspian is able to obtain that one item, he tries again, and it gives him the name of a person he knows, so he finds this person and it turns out the item helps the person. I do feel like it was a bit short, but otherwise, I liked it.

S.B. Alexander is a new author but what a mind she has. She has a knack for making you feel like you have new friends and you want to be part of the group in the story. Layla is a vampire hunter and Sam is that sexy Navy seal except he is a vampire as well. What can go wrong with these two right? or what can go right? The passion, grit, and love of these two are put to the challenge in more than one way, but what happens when the only one that can help you is the one you are sworn to annihilate??

Beelzebub: The Gift of Gluttony (A Sinful Seven Novel) by JC Brown & L. Lane

Beelzebub is the Demon of Gluttony. He gets in trouble by Michael when taking in hosts. He’s told not to do so again and then he sets his sights on Clara. A human and he’s not going to give her up. The quote I chose for Beelzebub is: “I can help you to be free. Free to be yourself, to do whatever you want, whenever you want to, free from feeling judged and trying to please others. By whispering words of encouragement and strength, I can help you find your heart’s desire. By working from within, I’ll provide guidance only you will hear.”

Clara is only human and is an empath. She feels everything others feel. She runs a bakery and when Beelzebub shows up she gets the shock of her life. Can she resist the Demon? The quote I chose for Clara is: “Money is nice. The bakery is doing so much better that I’ve had to hire several people to help me keep up. I guess I have you to thank for that. See, with all the extra money we’ve been making, I’ve been able to hire people to do all those things that I hate doing, like going shopping. I just place my order, and everything is done. And I found a couple of properties, in the middle of nowhere, that I’m considering buying. I might just buy both and use them as vacation places, I guess.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romance lovers.

Claiming My Mate: A forbidden-lovers romance (Wolf Hollow Pack #1) by Nicole Howl

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The author knows how to draw a reader’s attention and keep it. I really can’t wait for book two of the Wolf Hollow Pack series.

Lily is nothing, but a servant to the Royals. She’s beaten, raped, and tortured by one of the guards. She’s also bitten which causes her to turn. She also has to deal with the Prince who is claiming her as his mate. The quote I chose for Lily is: “I didn’t ask to be a she-wolf. I never wanted this! I didn’t ask to be a slave. I didn’t ask for Callum to rape me. I didn’t ask to be beaten and starved and thrown in the dungeons. I didn’t ask to be mated to the Prince of Wolf Hollow, soon to be the Alpha of ALL the f***ing wolves. I didn’t ask for the current Alpha to take an interest in me. I just wanted to be a normal f***ing girl! I just wanted a normal f***ing life! Is that too much to ask for? Is that too much to want? There has to be something that I did to deserve this. Did I do something in a past life? Why does Leto hate me so much? She’s supposed to be a f***ing Goddess, for crying out loud! What did I ever do to her?”

Jason is the Prince and future Alpha of the Hollow Wolf Pack. He finds his mate and then finds himself going against his father. He’s not one to give up easily and he will win the girl in the end, but it might cost him his life. The quote I chose for Jason is: “When I first realized he needed to go, I was too young. I wasn’t strong enough. Now? I’ve heard from the pack and those around us that they want the monarchy to change. They want a different system. If I were to challenge him, it would ruin their trust in me. They would rather me join their cause and change things slowly than challenging my father. This is their rodeo. I’m just a member.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Werewolf lovers.

This was a cute book about a little boy who wakes up to a present that leads him on an adventure.I did enjoy the story. However, I feel like I understood more about what was implied than a child would have. There is a definite story here but I would have liked it to either be more descriptive or simpler. Like I said, very cute book with a cute idea.

Forbidden Love (The Forbidden Duet #1) by K.M. Lowe

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. It won’t be my last as I really want to know what happens next. This left on kind of a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for book two. This is the first book in the Forbidden Duet Series.

Kally has been in love with her best friend, Clark, for years. She thinks that her eighteenth birthday will change everything for the best, but it doesn’t. After three years of being married she snapped. The quote I chose for Kally is: “I wish everyone would stop asking me that. I’m fine. I just needed some space. Those meetings are stifling. They’ve all been through worse than I have. I feel like a fraud being there.”

Clark has been in love with Kally since they were kids. He goes to her birthday party in hopes to get with her, but that doesn’t happen. He’s instead thrown for a loop. Now he’s got to bide his time before he can get the girl. The quote I chose for Clark is: “I will one day. I want her to experience life before she settles down. She deserves that much, Nancy.”

Highly recommended for Dark Romantic Suspense lovers.

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla) by S.B. Alexander – Review by Lisa Helmick

The Hunted (Vampire Navy SEAL: Sam & Layla, #1)The Hunted by S.B. Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fast paced and filled with action. Then there is the chemistry which is OFF the CHARTS. Scenes between Sam and Layla so HOT! I loved all the anticipation between them!

This is filled with great characters! I enjoyed them all….even the bad ones. Everyone brought something to the table that is a little bit different. They impressed me and made me irritated… then I would roll my eyes at something silly. I really enjoyed them and can’t wait to find out more about them.

Sadly this does end on a cliffhanger…I am not a fan of them. I wish this could have ended differently and we could move to other characters in future books. In fact I would love a Tripp/Rianne or a white wolf story.

Overall this is an amazing story filled with characters I came to care about. I look forward to more in this series.

Jason the soon to be Alfa comes home ready to take over and change thing his father has done until he sees Lily. There are so many things and obstacles that keep coming at them two. It keeps on turning the page to find out what happens next. I cannot wait for book two!

Slash and Burn is the fourth book in the Nite Fire Series and Holy Cow just when I thought this Series couldn’t get any better  boom this one is definitely my favorite.  I’m a fan of audible and this narrator.  She does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life with the many different tones of her voice. This story is packed with action suspense and drama. Dahlia’s back and fiercer than ever . She’s a bad a** dragon shape shifter who takes us on quite the journey. Things are changing and some changes are good while others might not be. The twists and turns will keep you on the edge of your seat.  I highly recommend listening/reading this book to find out what happens next. You won’t be disappointed I know I sure wasn’t. I cant wait for the next book in this series. Happy Listening everyone

The-Know-It-All-Pencil (Invisible Magic Wand Series) is a children’s book that we (my four year old) loved reading. It’s a fun little story about a little boy named Caspian and what happens when the pencil and pad of paper comes to life. Follow Caspian on his fun adventure with The-Know-It-All-Pencil and green pad. My son loved this story and all the colorful illustrations. He was making up his own story with each picture. I highly recommend reading this book especially if you have small children. I’m definitely going to check out the other books 8n this children’s series.

Finding Melodie and The Wedding Special Boxset by Laura Rossi-Review by Elena Tobar

Melodie Boxset (Melodie #1-2)Melodie Boxset by Laura Rossi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is such a sweet romance with so many moments that made me laugh out loud. I really love that Melody isn’t the typical cookie cutter heroine. She’s unique, she speaks up for herself and doesn’t take crap and she’s so carefree. It’s so interesting to read her observations about the people that come to listen to her play and the way she immediately falls for Office Guy the second she lays eyes on him. He isn’t the type she typically goes for either which might be just what she needs to get it right this time. Sometimes you really do need someone that is the complete opposite of you to balance each other out. I was rooting for them from the very beginning. They face some obstacles along the way that really had me glued to the book wait to see what would happen next, but the ending is definitely swoon worthy. This is one adorable romcom that you won’t want to miss.

What a thrilling read! I love a good mystery and this is just what I needed. Josie is a waitress and mom who is living in her family’s cabin. She thinks she is safe until bodies start appearing and she is charged with a murder. Josie doesn’t know who to trust, if she can even trust anyone at all. It seems like everyone is keeping something from her. This book took me on a wild ride from start to finish. I love that you are hit with twists and turns, and left mind blown by the end. It was impossible to put the book down until it was finished. A must read if you love psychological thrillers!

While I wish there wasn’t so much “pandemic” talk its truly a time period we all lived through which made it so very relevant! The good outweighed the bad drastically and it showed by how well the author could keep the readers attention!

Just like the others, I read it in one sitting. This series is such a page turner. Although a work of fiction, it has so many topics I could relate to. There is a common theme among these books and that communication and trust. Although this one was about Yolanda and Michael repairing and restoring their relationship, communication played such an important role. Both let fear keep them from expressing themselves. Each assumes the other person felt a certain way or would react a certain way. I really enjoyed the direction this book took. It’s easy to fall in love but keeping it alive takes work.

This was an interesting read. I don’t read too many thrillers, but the synopsis of this one caught my attention. Josie is a single mother of two children trying to get a divorce from her husband. He was into illegal activities among other things and she was more than ready to move on. When a body shows up a few miles down river from her property she becomes a prime suspect. In a place where everyone seems to know more about her than she does herself, who can she trust? Will she be able to clear her name by investigating and finding her own evidence? Will she be able to find the real killer?

To say I loved this book would be an understatement. It’s one of the best contemporary romance books I’ve ever read. It has a wonderful story with a great amount of depth and just pulls you in and gives you all the feels. Also, the spice level is off the charts, HOT! I highly recommend this book.

This short story was cute but could have used more details. The writing seemed more sterile because of the lack. The premise of the story itself was super cute where two similarly named lonely people find each other and fall in love.
