Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 6)Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley

This was such a solid read from start to finish. Honestly, it’s probably right up there with my top three in this series. All along we have been slowly introduced to Trey as he is the brother that the whole of the Five Families can count on when something goes wrong, or when they need medical assistance. He has seemingly been the one with his head on the straightest and has been doing his very best at keeping it together. We finally got to know his backstory and why it is that he hasn’t had an interest in finding someone thus far. Of course, our in-house mafia doctor is going to be the greatest white knight there ever could be.

Along comes Hailey who believes that she is a rebel, albeit, with a cause. Her stepfather has been ruthless in his self-serving ways and won’t stop until he has as much as he can possibly get his hands on, hence his marriage and position within Hailey’s family. Both Hailey and Trey have suffered large losses and either chosen to make it ‘their fault,’ or had that idea thrust upon them, and it is wonderful to see two such magnetic personalities come together to better each other, regardless of timing. This installment held a refreshing plot, changing it up from what we have gotten used to throughout the series, and I look forward to finally getting to know Nico in the next. Highly recommend all this author has brought to the table thus far!
