The Dark Sparrow Box Set by India Kells is amazing. I have read this series from the first book to the last book, each one better than the one before it. The storyline deals with a dark subject. The characters are fully developed and complicated. One thing I love about India Kells is her attention to detail. She paints a vivid picture with her details. I found myself engrossed in all the books. I had to leave enough time so that when I started one of the books I could finish it on the same day. If you like romance with a little suspense in them you will love India Kells Dark Sparrow Box Set.

This series, which focuses on six brothers and the women who gain their attention, is a dark series. Each man has their own reason for why they are so dark but it appeals to the special woman.
For those that like dark romances, this one is particularly dark. It will grab hold of you and keep you distracted from your life until you finish the series. The stories are well written and captivating. You will not be disappointed with this series.

This is a great completed series by India Kells. The series focuses on six brothers who’s job it is to bring their father down. Each brother has a Dark Sparrow (ie their FMC) that has been tasked in helping to bring him down. However daddy dearest isn’t the greatest of guys and will stop at nothing to avoid his fate. The storylines and romance in each book is great and keeps you reading! But be warned, you may stay up too late reading as you’ll start and won’t realize that it’s suddenly 3 am!

Coyote’s Road Trip by Laura Koerber – Review by Maryn Belling

Coyote’s Road Trip by Laura Koerber is both enthralling and thoughtful. In her clever blend of several types of lore in a relatable main character, the author invites readers to explore beyond the surface. Especially well-done are the descriptions of landscapes and environments. It became easy to “see” the world as Coyote does. Looking forward to reading more by Laura Koerber.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Coyote leaving his home of the desert that he has known his entire lifetimes, ends up picking up a couple of hitchhikers that were once his neighbors. They decide to head to the Pacific Northwest and along way discover that life and death is not what it appears to be. Upon arriving at his destination, coyote finds that it is not everything he had hoped it would be but makes he best of his new life meeting some quirky and misunderstood characters to become a part of their community. He also meets another soul like his named Raven and begins to understand in an odd way what community is and his role he plays in one.
This book was such a great read. A real story that is thought-provoking and unashamed to tell it like life truly is. I truly enjoyed the fantasy and ancestral side of the book. It serves as a good reminder that all is not what it seems to appear and to just follow our instincts to see where they lead. I appreciate the Native American ideas and spirit throughout the book and truly enjoyed the quick and interesting read that it was. Looking forward to learning more about Raven!

Caging Grace (Grace Series, #1).Caging Grace (Grace Series, #1). by Carsen Lane

This book really blew me out of the water, I was definitely not expecting it to be the roller coaster emotional read that it was. Grace was an amazing character who had to fight for so many more things then anyone should have to. I was originally drawn to this book by its beautiful cover, but upon starting the book I simply couldn’t flip through the pages fast enough. Grace’s journey was beautifuly written, and possibly one of the beat books that I have read this year.

I was not expecting what in did with this book. But in a very good way. This book was not just your typical romance but about finding love on a personal level and persona growth. This was something Grace goes through in this book. The emotions in this book with determination, hardship, love and learning to love was very captivating to read. It was so inspiring to read. This book was amazing from start to finish. Grace was an easy character to absolutely cheer on, her determination to do what it takes to provide for herself, her mother and sister, and to see her grow was amazing, the way things play out our amazing, I love how they are back stories in the stories were you can really understand the character better, which just makes you fall in love with them more. I highly recommend this book.

This was a good book! This book takes on some pretty intense situations in life. Grace learns to fight for self defense, but ends up having to fight underground to keep afloat. She turns to UFC when she’s introduced to it by her trainer. The expectations I had for Grace and her love life evolved as her love life evolved. In the end, she chooses herself and chooses to out herself first. There’s a valuable lesson in this book that is very important for anyone. Sometimes, even when it’s not comfortable, we have to choose ourselves in order to heal and move forward in a healthy way.

This was a great book. This read kept me entertained and glued to the pages. Grace has been through so much in her young life and she keeps on fighting through all of her struggles literally and figuratively. She hasn’t had it easy trying to take care of her younger sister and sick mom. All of her hard work pays off when she gets a chance to join the UFC. She has guilt about fighting that she needs to work through. There are also some other really great characters in this story. I don’t want to give too much away but I will say that this is a must read, you will not be able to put it down. I highly recommend this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an excellent contemporary romance that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. The author was new to me but the blurb sounded like something I’d enjoy, so I decided to give it a try. I’m really glad that I took the plunge as this is a great story that really pulled me in to the storyline and continued to keep me engaged and intrigued throughout.
I loved the 2 main characters Nate and Bree, although I’ll admit to wanting to slap some sense into Bree on several occasions. She was so determined to stick to her principals and rules and nothing was going to change her mind. Nate, I adored. He is just one of the sweetest guys you could ever want to know and I really want a Nate in my life.
The story is quite angsty in parts and you really can’t help but want to give Nate a huge hug so many times. I do love an angsty story though, so as much as I was exasperated, I really enjoyed it.
Nate and Bree’s story is a really great read that I’d definitely recommend to others.

This was the first book in this series that I read. I wasn’t confused at all and this book is a great stand alone. This book is a romance novel that’s pretty clean. I couldn’t get into Bree’s character. She reminded me more of a teenager versus a young woman. Her feelings towards relationships and being cautious were very valid but every time I read her express them I didn’t feel like I was reading a conversation from an adult. Nate seemed very intense, but I’m wondering if that’s a culture barrier? The overall concept and underlying themes of the book were good, I just couldn’t get into the characters that much.

Dark Sparrow Box Set: The Complete 6-Book Series (Dark Sparrow Series, Books #1- 6) by India Kells – Review by Angela Hayes

Dark Sparrow Box Set: The Complete 6-Book SeriesDark Sparrow Box Set: The Complete 6-Book Series by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars

Dark Sparrow Box Set: The Complete 6-Book Series contains the entire collection of books in the Dark Sparrow Series by India Kells. I keep saying it, but I have loved everything India Kells has written, and these books are no exception. She is one of my favourite authors and I one-click anything she releases, no questions asked. This is a fantastic opportunity to get a complete series in one exciting boxset. They definitely provide a riveting read, from beginning to end- as expected Ms. Kells has woven some really gripping, well thought out, and completely engrossing stories. Each book focuses on one of the bastard ‘brothers’ and the woman who steals his heart. But the brothers also have recurring roles in the overall series too. Each book adds to the series, building on what came previously, painting a bigger picture in the process, adding layers and facets to the overall storyline.
My review for each individual book can be found on each title, separately, below is a general overview of this thrilling boxset.

The Box Set contains:

Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book One)
This is Aleksei and Diva’s story. If you are a MMA/ Russian Mafia romantic suspense lover, then this is one book you won’t want to miss.

Cold Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book 2)
We follow Archer and Zoe through all the intriguing developments in this fantastic second chance romance. Even though I have adored all the books and characters in this series- this one dug itself a little deeper into my heart and is definitely one of my favourites.

Wild Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book 3)
I loved Isabelle and Kai’s story, and I am sure you will too. There is danger, suspense and second chances that will have you hooked right till the end.

True Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book 4)
This is the story of Liam Harker and Sister Catriona Walsh. The sinner and the nun. Yes, a nun!!! And their story was every bit as intriguing as you might imagine! I loved that this book also helps to build a bigger picture of the brothers and their on-going father issues.

Dark Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book 5)
Sam and Ellie’s story- OMG did I feel for those two. They have been through so much and I was so happy they found each other- but that’s not to say there weren’t a few anxious moments through the story. I could feel their sadness and the weight of their ‘burdens’. Sam was ready to end it all- but a misdialled number connects him with Ellie- and so the adventure began.

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow Book 6)
This was such a bittersweet read for me. Having read all the previous instalments, I truly connected with this band of brothers and looked forward to following each one as they got their own book. So, knowing this was the last book in the series was sad- I was sooo not ready to say goodbye…. But at the same time, I desperately wanted to know how things would finally play out, but more importantly, getting a front row seat to the ‘Oz’ show- and what a fantastic show it was!! Ms. Kells definitely had me completely engrossed in the story- I devoured the book in a couple of hours, just so I could find out what happens.

These books are so well written with lots of complexities, depth, and texture- which resulted in exciting and incredibly compelling stories. There was a lot of funny quips and banter too, which help to lighten and balance all the action, emotion, and highly charged moments that occur throughout the series.
I love the way Ms. Kells develops her characters, they are all fantastic, and entirely interesting (even the baddies)- pulling me further and further into the story, and always leaving me with a desperate need to know what’s going to happen next.
Ms. Kells creates quite brilliant, intricate, and suspenseful storylines which included lots of action, danger, deadly games of cat and mouse, perilous situations, evil masterminds, lots of secrets, difficult choices, shocking revelations, electrifying chemistry, plenty of sizzle… and so much more!
I really recommend this Box Set, as I am sure you will love it just as much as I have.
I can’t wait for Ms. Kells next release, whatever that may be!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, India Kells!

Wow Jonas and Kenzie came to us in a very powerful story that absolutely knocked me off my feet! I knew from the previous books that Jonas was a huge player and at the start of this book I have to be honest and say I really didn’t like him. True to this amazing author and her creative style though, she changed my mind completely with a totally captivating and deeply meaningful storyline. I have read the previous books in this series so I started this book hoping it would be just as good as the others but it far exceeded my hopes. My heart was engaged in these characters and went along with them every single step of the way. I have got to say that at times it was absolutely heart wrenching. To go into to much detail of the actual storyline I believe would give far too much away. The best thing I can do for you is tell you to RUN not walk but run and grab a copy right now!! Get reading!! This is one book you do not want to miss!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It took me a while to get into this book and every percent was a struggle. This is NOT the book’s fault. I am a mood reader and this was not my mood. The beginning does start off a little foggy; and by foggy I mean that I really didn’t know what was going on. Once you get to Finn’s point of view it starts to pick up and things start to line up a little bit better. I don’t know much Norse mythology or history but the important parts were explained in a well enough way that I was able to keep up. And! Some of the locations from historical shows did ring a bell. This book has a LARGE character list and I had to take side notes to even begin to keep up.
Epic fantasy. Vikings. A beautiful wedding and a pretty epic battle. It starts off a little slow, but keep going and you’ll be swept up in story.

I have been on pins and needles WAITING for this book to come out and I have got to say that I was not disappointed! This book revolves around Jonas, who is the epitome of a playboy who is not willing to give up that lifestyle for anyone, that is until he sees Mackenzie. Seeing Mackenzie has stirred up emotions in him! Mackenzie is there to win a competition that would change her life for the better and is faced with the guy who has scorned her many years ago. With this couple, they are both hot headed and stubborn and reading their story was a true delight! I read this book in record timing as I was extremely focused on it and needed to know how their story would end! If you are looking for a great series to read, look no further as this one will surely fill any need that you have in a book. The way that the author writes it has you captivated and wanting more! I will forever be a fan of these books!!

I was looking forward to reading this second book in the series, and I was not disappointed, as the epic adventures of the Agneson Clan continued. Set in Danelaw England, in 878, and the Vikings are at war with the last Saxon Kingdom, and as the Danish forces assemble for war on Wessex, the loyal Agneson Clan heeds the call to join the Great Viking Horde. This entertaining and enjoyable epic saga is a mix of historical fantasy and supernatural suspense, and it had me gripped from start to finish. Forerunner Thorfinn has his own adventures and dangers to overcome, as he learns that the Nine Realms are full of surprising hidden folk, and to earn his place aboard the Viking’s ship he must accept a mast troll’s quest. I was fully immersed in this story as the descriptive narrative along with the historical details really brings the setting and era vividly to life. This is a fast paced and exciting read, and I look forward to the next book in the series.

This book is a suspenseful thriller! The author is confident in her ability to deliver, and what an amazing delivery of conspiracy, activism, and good versus evil. I particularly like the way the main character battles with things that are beyond her control. I appreciate the glimpses into the world of addiction. Best of all, the author does not have to resort to the low-hanging fruit of “bedroom scenes” that too many authors today use when they don’t have a good story.

This is a Christian-based mystery and though it isn’t what I typically pickup, it was quite entertaining! I enjoyed it more than the first book in the series which is rare. The author does a good job of keeping you on your toes the entire time you’re trying to figure out who could be at the center of everything. It gives a startling view on what could really be in your medications which was scary! How much can former DEA Agent Greg Nelson and his fiancé, Anne, take before it’s all too much? This is a great story full of suspense with twists and turns at every chapter.

Not exactly how I thought this book would go. At first I was sure this was going to be more of a struggle between committing suicide or not, but JP’s story was more about over coming the demons inside yourself. JP is much like a friend of mine in his struggles and self destruction so it was interesting to see how JP was changed and his thoughts. I’m excited to see the second book and how/if JP and Adin renew their relationship. I do think Lisa is my hero in this story though as she tries everything in her power to help her husband until she has no choice, and even then she still tries to help JP from a distance. Grandma was my favorite character, strong and witty and demanding respect.
