So good, from beginning to end! Wednesday is a mage tech wiz while Ryker is a panda shifter. They’ve been best friends forever, but know they can’t be more. But where there is magic, there’s a way! Read this book! It’s funny, witty, nerdy, adorable, hot, and very entertaining. This book has many layers to it so pay attention, everything is important! I love Ryker and Wednesday! The Protector is a very good addition to the Freemasons series. It wasn’t my favorite of the four books but I still thoroughly enjoy it. Some very dark themes that are hard to review objectively. When one has gone through those things, who is one to sympathize or judge. Yes this is a work of fiction but the ptsd the main female character goes through is very real in today’s world. It’s scary to know young kids, men and women are taken every day from their families into the same life Renee was forced to live in this book. This author is a favorite of mine for a reason, she writes her characters so well. The development and growth becomes a wonderful experience for the reader. You become invested in these characters and you don’t want their stories to end. Declan and Renee have a long way to go. She’s broken and relearning how to live her life as the person she is now. He loves her so unconditionally he would do anything for her, even if it sacrifices his happiness. It’s as long as she’s happy. He doesn’t want to push her but just to be there for her. Do Declan and Renee get to explore what was between them before she was taken? How does she cope being back in the real world? Like I’ve stated before the themes are dark but the love and romance throughout is absolutely beautiful.

This is the seventh book I have read by L.M. Preston, all of them in the Vigilant Series. I have read how the move affected EmVee, Dex, and Rei now finally getting to see Reece’s side was exciting he was the missing piece. Throughout the other 6 books Reece is mentioned in passing with EmVee, a key ally for Dex within their family, and the twin brother of Rei but everyone was curious what he was doing but were too busy to find the chance to find out. Reece loves making weapons and everything to do with cars. He has been in Newport for awhile when he finally gets his first chance to race and quickly makes some enemies when the reigning first and second place winners are split to first and third when Reece wins 2nd place. The race is not a typical street race it is more of a death race, weapons such as fire balls and acid are dropped and thrown at the drivers’ cars. But racing is easy for Reece what holds his attention is the curious girl he meets there, Zamina. He is drawn to her in every sense from her smell to something deeper inside his soul that is drawn to her. Unfortunately, Zamina’s best friend Ora disapproves of the two talking and interjects herself consistently. A mystery surrounds the strange girl Megan that manages the races, Reece can feel the vibrations of power or authority that radiates from her. From previous books and learning of Megan and her “talents” it is quickly apparent that Megan tricks Reece into signing a contract before being allowed to enter the race. For Reece he quickly taken back by the students at his school New York had variety not only races as Newport does, but heights, everyone is taller than average, Reece at six foot two states that no one including the females are shorter than five-foot seven other than his tiny twin sister Rei. The bigger concern is that unlike the students in New York that were fearful in some ways Newport’s students had a predatory way about them, like they were waiting for the chance to fight or more. Will Reece discover what makes Megan so powerful? Why does Zamina call to something deep within his soul? The authors word and creativity in making every book unique and original while also keeping tied to one family is mesmerizing. The overlapping details of existing characters that give them more depth while also introducing original characters to the individuals story and experience leaves you coming back for more. I cannot wait to see the continuation of Reece’s story in Blade of Fire out on November 27th, 2022.

This was a 5 star read. I’m really enjoying this series and the author. I got pulled in right from the start. Renee has had a tough early life. Declan is her brother’s best friend. These two have an attraction that continues to grow between them. I loved how sweet Declan was to Renee along with being protective. My emotions were all over the place. This was a great book! I loved the writing style and the characters. The story flowed so easily off the pages. The characters had fantastic chemistry and banter with each other. The Protector is book 4 in this series and I very highly recommend reading all the books in order to get to know each character….and this story of Declan and Renee…..my heart….their story took me on a roller coaster of emotion.
Renee is finally home after being rescued as she abducted and taken to far away from Perth. The aftermath of her abduction has Renee on edge and fearful and the one comfort she has is being near Declan, who is her brother, Jude’s, best friend. Renee has so much healing and trauma to overcome, Declan is protective and patient and trying to be there for Renee in her recovery. Will Jude and Renee get the happily ever after they both deserve even when the person who set up the abduction of Renee returns? Definitely read and find out….
This story of Declan and Renee had so much….Danger, intrigue and some truly tender moments that I just loved….I love how the author intertwined each character in the book and this series of The Freemason was truly fabulous…so well done!!!

This is a riveting follow up to The Brass Compass in which CIA operative Miriam Becker is doing all she can to prevent WWIII. The setting is East Berlin and the KGB is crawling all over the place. It’s her job to rescue a rocket scientist and get out of East Berlin without being detected. She knows that one wrong move can change the outcome of this mission and possibly history itself.
This is another great read with very historically accurate references! I enjoy this author’s writing style and how she chooses strong female leads in her stories. This is a true page turner filled with a lot of action, some romance, and a story for the ages.

I enjoy a good WWII novel and this one did not disappoint. Ellen Butler is a new-to-me author and I look forward to more of her work!
Lily Saint James has lived a life of privilege being able to attend the best schools and receive proper training in how to be a lady. Her father’s job has allowed much of this to happen. It’s Lily’s senior year and she’s excited to be able to finish school and be back home with her parents and possibly start searching for a proper suitor. When her mother becomes very ill after an extended stay in Africa, Lily travels to reach her but she’s too late. This absolutely crushes Lily and has her desiring to enter into service to her country, but in a more back door way.
Lily becomes an OSS agent and finds herself in the middle Germany, which she needs to escape, but not before gathering as much intel as possible.
This book is exciting, full of action, a little bit of romance, and great historically accurate references. I found this book very enjoyable and will be reading book 2 next!

This book was so full of love and so good. Renee is rehabilitating and the patience and love that Declan shows her is everything. There is a plot twist. Renee is more confident and stronger than ever after she’s had to endure what life has thrown at her. Following this series, I have fallen in love with the characters and their lives. These men and the women that they have at their sides are worth falling in love with. I love them all but Declan has a special place in my heart with Renee due to her story and how she overcame it with his help.

This series has fast become one of my favorites to read! I could not get enough of these books and could not put it down once I got ahold of it! This book revolves around Renee, who was kidnapped by terrible people and was able to finally be found and Declan who is a part of the freemasons who has always had a crush on her. I really loved their interaction with one another and the way that their story was written. Renee has a lot of real emotions that people feel when in these situations. It was super refreshing to read this and know that the author has such class writing the story like she did. Now that Renee is back, will she let herself finally fall for Declan or will her emotions and feelings stand in the way of her finally having happiness? I could not get enough of this book!! I cannot wait to buy these books for my sister and our friends to read them!!!

I love historical fiction, and this one did not disappoint. My only complaint is that the story seemed short and not completely fleshed out. Even so, I still really enjoyed it. 17 year old Laurel marries her flame, Robert Laningham. They both adore each other and expect marriage to be easy. Laurel doesn’t expect resistance from her husband’s twin sister, Rhonda, nor does she expect Robert to leave for the war with Spain. When Robert returns from Spain, he acts differently and doesn’t believe what Laurel says. They must overcome Rhonda and a thief and learn to depend on each other. Well written and enjoyable to read!

Elemental Fire is the first book in the Hidden Realms series. It’s an exciting fantasy romance with an urban setting and plenty of twists to keep you turning the pages. A treaty between humans and the Hidden was supposed to keep everyone safe and happy. But of course that’s not always the case. There are humans who see the Hidden as a threat and discriminate against them. There are Hidden who use their glamours to do more than simply blend in with the crowd. This is where Sin comes in – she can see through glamours and spot different magical creatures whether or not they want to be seen. She offers her services to both sides, helping where she can (especially if the pay is good!). There is some beautiful world building in this book, which encourages readers to see the magic in everything! And the story is fantastic, with the romance not overwhelming the action and mystery. This book gets five stars from me! I’d recommend it to fans of urban fantasies looking for something full of romance and adventure.

An enjoyable and engaging historical romance with added drama and suspense which had me hooked from start to finish. Laurel Collingsworth, is seventeen and deeply in love when she marries her hero, Lord Robert Laningham. However, instead of living in wedded bliss, she has to watch her husband go off to war in Spain. As the new Lady Laningham gets used to her new role, and being without her husband, she moves into his ancient mansion. It’s not just her hostile sister in law that Laurel must deal with, but she also has shadowy intruders, mysterious footsteps in the night and missing jewellery to contend with. Having faced a series of terrifying events, Laurel is overjoyed when she learns that her husband is alive and returning home.
However, the wounded Lord Laningham is in no state to listen to his wives concerns, even though she tries to convince him that there is danger within the mansions halls. Laurel must protect herself, her child, her recovering husband and her household, with or without Robert’s help. The descriptive narrative brought both the characters and setting vividly to life, and the added historical details made me feel transported back in time. I loved Laurel, as she is a likeable and relatable character and I felt engaged with her. The storyline flowed well and the plot twists kept me happily turning the pages, and I felt immersed in the story. I recommend this entertaining read.

Everything from gunslinging in the old west to the feeling of hopeful longing to fit in, this book intertwines many, many themes into its winding pages. Containing everything from historical touches to sci-fi approaches, all while keeping intricate detail within, this book is a melting pot of genres and style.
It was a quick read even with its volume, and the characters were easy to love. Always get the reader thinking on what going back themselves would be like! It was an adventure for sure.

I have been loving this book series since book 1. As much as I am sad to see the finale of the books happen, I loved how the author created these books and brought them to life, and gave the perfect ending!
This one in particular in the series really got at my heart strings i must say! Declan was a character impossible not to love, he was a good man with a good heart. Renee I related to a lot as well. She went thru stuff and did not seem worthy in her opinion to the most special in her life. When her past comes back to haunt her, she finds comfort in Declan’s arms. Their moments were sweet, full of steam, and you really truly felt the feelings and emotions between them! I was very happy with how this book went. The book series was stellar from book 1 all the way through this one, the finale. Perfect series which I absolutely loved!
I could never get enough of this author or series. The series, this book installment, and author are a high recommendation from me! It was bitter sweet to reach the end of the series, but the journey was by far unforgettable. Definitely a must read for sure. I highly suggest reading all the books in this series!

Some of the personal issues that the main character experienced were some I have had as well so I could totally relate. The Salem Witch Trials has always been a fascination of mine, and this is a fun fictional modern Salem Witch Trials. Although the story moved slowly, I couldn’t put it down! Brazeau brought a lot of light and humor to what could have easily been a dark and gloomy story. The story was well written with unforgettable characters. I couldn’t wait to finish it and have my 13 year old read it as well so we could discuss. 5 out of 5 for sure!

Jude’s sister, Renee was abducted and was held in a sex tracking ring for 3 years. She was pretty much the first person people saw when they walked in, much like a greeter. She definitely did have to participate in actions but not as much as others I do not think. Jude’s best friend Declan and Renee were close before she was abducted and both had feeling for one another but were afraid to act on them. Now that Renee has been rescued, Declan stays on sight in the place Renee is placed to help her cope. She has therapy there, and slowly starts to have lunch with Declan. Declan is the only person Renee feels absolutely comfortable with. She does have setbacks and the person she calls first is always Declan. They both care a great deal About eachother but Renee has alot of triggers and issues when it comes to people near her or Touching her. Everything seems to be going at a great pace as Declan and Renee get back to how close they were before she was abducted until Dominic’s wedding. At a moment during the wedding, Renee, Declan and Jude’s fears come barreling into reality when Renee goes missing again. Was she taken, is she in the bathroom, or did she just leave without telling anyone? I thought this series was so good and I loved the plot that all the books worked around. I hope to read more by this author soon. Each book was great to read but I recommend reading them in order to get the full effect.

The Order of Vespers by Elyse Reyes is an interesting, creative story. Jasper Andrews is in high school but does not live a normal life. Eighteen is rough enough but Jasper has some unique problems. She is involved in a freak explosion that allows a secret group to find out about her powerful abilities. When her family is killed suddenly Jasper takes off to protect herself. She is led into a powerful play between the group searching for her and The Order of Vespers. Can Jasper figure out if she should battle in vengeance for the death of her family or for the greater good? Jasper is a tough, smart girl who has lost everything she ever knew and is on the run of her life. Her powers are still developing. She is not quite in control of herself and the world around her. The hardest part is that she was raised trying to hide her powers. Now everyone wants what she has. Jasper is caught between two groups and must decide which group has the better interest for everyone. The writing is good and I always enjoy a creative story. The beginning was a bit confusing to me but I quickly caught what was going on and got deeply involved in the story. The characters were well developed and relatable. The story once it got going was well paced and interesting. It was a quick read that was fun. I enjoyed the book and will look for more by this author.

This book seriously held you from the start to the very end. I could not let go. The book was full of intrigue, as well being intelligently written by the author!
I love historical reads and books that are to do with women who have intelligence and are in a profession that may be given more like lit to men, such as spies. Loved how the author wrote this story and made all come to life. Miriam was a wonderful lead character. Strong minded and bad ass. I loved how she was searching for the truth and to prevent what could cause many casualties. The book gripped me, it was epic, and very much an intense read. I was blown away, literally! A great read I devoured and loved!
Fantastic read and very much a fantastic as well as, creative author as well. I could not have asked for more, it was perfect with every word and every turn of danger! Highly recommend! A must read for sure!

Fascinating start This is a very intriguing Gaslamp fantasy story featuring Madam Chalamet who is a trained medium. I loved the setting and the characterisation. Elinor Chalamet isn’t one to be trifled with. This book has mystery, action and slow burn romance, a great combination. This is the first of six novellas, and I am keen to see where the story goes.

Wow where to start with this story. I don’t think I’ve ever ready a spy story that has historical references before and I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t enjoy it or understand it but boy was I wrong. I was gripped from the very first page. The author’s writing and the characters created were so engaging that I kept me reading till the end. With so many twists and turns, a lot of deception and the feeling of never knowing who you can trust it definately makes this book a page turner. The link to historical events added a sense of realism to the story which makes the book even more interesting and gripping. I love the character writing and the fact that there are women spies that are just as dangerous and good at the job as the men. The whole plot of saving someone and helping a family escape without bring detected or killed made this a fast paced action adventure which you just can’t put down. I will definately look to read more from this author.
