The Sneaky Kitten by Lois Wickstrom is a cute book with a twist. You can tell that creativity and imagination were used when writing this book. I originally thought this book was going to be more about a kitten from space causing mischief on Earth. I was pleasantly surprised to see this book was more about Caspian helping the kitten after it gets into many challenging situations. The Sneaky Kitten is the perfect book for any cat lover or child who loves to use their imagination. Cuddle up with some cocoa and read this book today! You’ll thank me later for recommending the cocoa! 🙂

This is the second installment in the Second Chance Romance Series by Jane Suen, though it can be read as a standalone book. Mary and Brad, whom we met previously in book one, share their story of heartache, misunderstandings, love, and past humiliation. It’s been ten long years since these two childhood friends have talked or seen one another when one of their friends arranges for them to run into each other. Can they overcome the heartache of the past and the feelings that were never divulged in order to be friends or more? Are second chances really possible? Will the old feelings that resurface overshadow the pain, humiliation, and heartache of the past? Will Laurie continue her plotting and matchmaking schemes? She is truly an amazing character and friend in this series. Jane Suen has written a beautiful, clean, feel good, story of love with heartwarming characters. I’m enjoying this series and hope to read more by this talented author.

Parents always want only the best for their children. If I had a Magic Wand by Melissa Lavi is a heartwarming book about parents’ wishes, dreams, and hopes for their children. Lavi’s book captures the beautiful bond between parent and child. The illustrations by Ela Ward are simply enchanting and add a whimsical flair to the story. If I had a Magic Wand would be the perfect gift for a baby shower or to add to your child’s library! I look forward to reading this book to my own children as a bedtime story one day.

This is a super cute story. It can be enjoyed by both little kids and adults. It shows how with a little work big things can happen. I think this a lesson that everyone needs to be reminded of every now and then. The amazing illustrations in this book really help showcase the authors words. This book also touches on being seen as weird to others because the main character is wrapped up in what she loves. It shows that just because people don’t see things the same way doesn’t mean that everyone can’t enjoy them. Amaleigha wants to share her love for the outdoors with the world and her big thinking can help get that accomplished. This is a super cute short read that has some valuable life lessons that everyone can relate to. I highly recommend reading this book to yourself and your kids.

Return to Gallanvaig: Beyond A Quirk of Destiny by Catherine Greenall 4 out of 5 Stars Return to Gallanvaig is the second book in the Quirk of Destiny Series. It is not a quick read. This is a hefty 500+ page book but it starts with a huge bang. If you have not already read book 1, then do yourself a favor and go read A Quirk of Destiny. This book reintroduces many of the same characters and builds into a great continuation of the story. Return to Gallanvaig is a dystopian post-apocalpytic thriller with elements of sci-fi, action, danger and some major paranormal thriller. The details in the book are what makes it. The story is beautifully done and you fall in love with the characters and your heart starts to race when our mains get into some serious trouble. Lovers of sci-fi, action, danger and paranormal thrillers will love this book. 4 out of 5 stars.

I enjoyed reading this second chance romance story. This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by her. I enjoy her writing skills and her attention to details that make her characters pop. This book is no different. This is the first book in this new series for this author and what a great start it is. This is a well written story that has characters that don’t give up on each other and have pasts that need to be overcome. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into the story from the start. They are engaging and I found them to be relatable. They brought life to the story and had me coming back for more. Their chemistry is great and made the story easy to read. I also enjoyed the growth of them and the plot throughout the story. This is a great story that filled my snowy afternoon with warmth. I highly recommend this book and this author.

As a cat lover, or should I say crazy cat lady, I am always looking for books about cats. Especially children’s books that I can give as gifts. This was no exception when I saw the cover. Initially I was thinking it was going to be about a cat from space because it looks like he is riding a flying saucer. While I was right to an extent, the story used “magic” items given to the main character in previous books. It was a lesson for the character of how to use certain items to help get them out of certain predicaments. The illustrations are so vivid and perfect. They help tell the story so well. I loved this book and I think your kids will to.
Amaleigha is a five-year-old girl who loves to spend time in her backyard forest. She will sit for hours and watch how the animals play. One day while outdoors enjoying her time in nature Amaleigha comes up with a big idea on how she can share what she loves with others. She enlists the help of friends and family to make her idea become a reality.
Amaleigha is smart, determined and a real go-getter. She might be only five years old, but she has some big ideas that she needs to share with her community. This book is intended for young children, but I feel that it conveys a strong message about the importance of following your dreams, at any age. It also shows what great things can be accomplished when people work together to make them a reality. The illustrations are beautiful, and each scene is so descriptive that the reader cannot help but become fully immersed into the story. A must read for children of all ages!

What a fun book! I love the hot cocoa socks. Caspain uses them to rescue the kitten, Stuck, stuck in the tree. Between the kitten and the “frisbee”, Caspian and his grandpa have a fun little adventure. The story is fun and entertaining. The pictures are bright and joyful to look at it. Another winner for this other. Caspian’s stories are a joy to read and a fun series to have for story time.

Beast is the fifth book in the Popov Bratva Series and is a Suspenseful Romance with lots of action, drama, dark romance and some intense turns that will have you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going on. I was hooked from the beginning and man on man did I devour this book. This is Beast and Anika’s story and holy cow these teo both have secrets and will have your heart breaking in some spots. I don’t want to give anything away as I thnk you should experience this for yourself. But I highly recommend reading this book/series to find out what happens next. Im looking forward to the next book in this series.

Casey is the person who seems to want to help him through this and as they become friends more feelings start stirring for both.
Seeing how close Casey is getting to Austin and when she battles against Mavis, Mavis starts to question Casey’s loyalty and issues damns to stay away from him. Although Mavis is happy and ready to get marry, she is still it seems hung up on her fiancée’s twin brother. But can Casey and Austin push through there heartbreaks and find love with each other.
This is a great pick up from the first book, as I felt heart broken for Austin at the end of the first book, but as this story goes along you get to see the relationship blossom between Casey and Austin. This like the first book was well written and the characters were wonderful to follow and read, although I have to say my fondness waivered a little for Mavis as I found her character to be extremely selfish and that she wanted both sides of the coin which left Austin in a weird holding path.
I loved getting to see the development and growth of the Austin and Casey’s characters and hope in the last book we see more into the relationships of all the characters. I’m ready and waiting line up the third book to see how this lovely trilogy will end.

Mavis left in under the cloak of darkness all those years ago with a secret, but over the years the pain has subsided but never truly gone away. She wonders what life would have been like with Josh but never let’s herself dwell to long, but over the years life has become more complicated.
Austin has known where Mavis has been, not able to tell his twin brother due to his loyalty to Mavis but he also has a secret which could destroy his family and his friendship with his brother.
Oh, how I loved this story, the twists and secrets added to the depth of the book. In my heart I was championing for Austin and hoping forbidden love would win through, but you will have to read to find out who Mavis chooses.
The story was well written and flowed beautiful through the past and present with all the characters involved. I loved the character of Mavis so strong but showing her vulnerability and heart break just made me love her even more. The ending just opens for the next but in this trilogy and I can’t wait to pick up the story within the next book in this series.

This is the fifth book in this series, and this is a heart-warming beautiful book. It can be read as a stand-alone story, but it would not hurt to read the series if not yet read. Adrik is such a strong character with a horrendous past but shows the determination to work to get better and the overall goal to be nothing like his father.
The chemistry between these two jumped off the page and the forbidden love angle adds the depth to the story as it goes along. I loved the twists and turns of the story and that the pasts intertwine to make the plot even more interesting. I loved how strong the female character Annika was and that it was not her nature to back down from anything. I could not put this book down and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

The Sneaky Kitten is a charming, imaginative book. This author has a great imagination and it comes through on the pages. In “The Sneaky Kitten” Caspian and his Grandfather follow a frisbee that seems to belong to no one. When the frisbee gets stuck in a tree, Caspian remembers one of his Unbirthday gifts, hot cocoa socks. The hot cocoa socks let Caspian fly, so he uses them to try and retrieve the frisbee, but is surprised to find a kitten in the tree too. Caspian thought the kitten needed saving so he got him out of the tree. However, throughout the whole story, the silly kitten gets himself into many different predicaments. In the end, the kitten finds his way back to the frisbee which seems to be the kitten’s UFO transportation!! As usual, Caspian’s journey will lead kids on an imaginative adventure! The author always produces a story that can get kids thinking outside of the box, even if as an adult I feel the storylines are a little weird.
I have read a few books from this author and she always blows my mind with her writing style. This is the second book in the Trading Heartbeats trilogy. This bill could be read as a stand alone but there are some previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started reading it right away. I fell in love with the characters right from the beginning and I could stop reading this amazing story. It only took me a few hours to finish this book. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.

Lois has taken so many science classes that she believes science is the solution to almost every problem, including the dilemmas in fairy tales. She has invented what she calls Science Folktales. In each science-based tale, the protagonist achieves a better ending than the original because of learning scientific principles. She has turned some of these tales into plays.
She has also created a series of Mermaid Science stories, which make use of water science.
Lois is married to the love of her life. She has two children, four grandchildren and a dog.
The reader is pulled in right away into the action as the main character, PI Jorja Knight has an encounter of a carjacking. This engrossing mystery brings plenty of action to the page with a touch of romance and humor to keep the reader turning the page. There are several nail-biting moments to keep you on the edge of your seat! I enjoyed this book and look forward to more from the author.
This is the fifth book in the Jorja Knight mystery series. It reads well as a stand alone book!

Revenge Never Rests is the second gripping book in the Tallie Brown Suspense series by Laurie Lewis. As this story follows on from book one, I highly recommend reading Secrets Never Die before starting on this instalment. This is a suspenseful story full of dramatic developments, intrigue, twists, action, adventure, mystery, secrets, lies, conspiracy, agendas, plots, emotion, family, friendship, tension, (clean) romance, and a quest for answers. As I have mentioned before, I look forward to reading everything Ms. Lewis produces, and this book was no exception. This story made it so hard to choose a favourite out of all her books, leaving me no choice but to add it to my favourites. Tallie Brown has her work cut out for her here, tracking down missing people- but with so many lies, secrets, and cover-ups- the danger mounts and stakes are raised as she embarks on her quest for answers. Another cleverly woven and suspenseful story, and I really enjoyed how Ms. Lewis kept the tension and intrigue at such a high level the whole way through- it made for quite a gripping read. I loved the characters- they are really well-developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I loved seeing them continue to develop and grow over the course of the story/series…. and seeing how well Tallie’s circle support, and work together. Can’t wait to see what comes next! Murder on Oak Street seems to be a typical who dun it? Well that is till you get into it. Reality it’s an investigation within an investigation. The author keeps you guessing, especially when you think it’s about one death yet about 40% of the way through the meat of the story happens. It gives me Agatha Christie vibes. Though I’ll be honest I struggled at the beginning. I couldn’t stay interested but I pushed on. Once I start a book I do everything in my power to see it through. The author kept me invested as it went on. Dr. Daniel O’Halleran just recently transferred to this Long Island town, needing a change of scenery. Little did he realize a case that he worked on two years prior that left him unsettled would be coming right back to the forefront. This was his chance to get it right. But when Thomas Brissedon is found dead he’s tasked with being the lead to find the answers. Unfortunately he feels strongly that Cornelius Desmond’s demise is connected. So now we circle back to who dun it? Was it Colin Brissedon? Thomas’ son who was promiscuous and an uncontrolled gambler. Was it Patrick Desmond? Thomas’ troubled stepson who strongly believes Thomas had something to do with his father’s death? Was it Jeremy Radcliffe? Nephew of the deceased who is a drunkard and just as promiscuous as Colin. Was it Kathleen Brissedon? Thomas’ daughter who is a kind and gentle soul, who loves her father unconditionally. That’s just a few of the prime suspects, now who do you think it is? If you like murder mystery books then jump in and decide who you think brought Thomas to his demise. The author’s witty take in the novel makes it a worthwhile leap to take.

I don’t know if a main character since the fairy tales days has been so misjudged simply on his looks. Adrik deserved so much better than his father and the people who mistreated him simply because of his looks. I am so happy Adrik found Annika.
Adrik had met with much misfortune in his life. At 8, he was disfigured by a dog. At 17, his father kicked him out of the house. At 19, Adrik found himself on the streets, homeless. Adrik figured out a plan and put it into motion. He joined the Popov Bratva and sought to make a better life for himself. Just as things were starting to turn around for him, tragedy struck and Adrik lost the people most important to him except for his Bratva brothers. Many years after working his way up through the ranks, Adrik is a trusted soldier. He gets a special assignment, to guard the boss’s daughter. The only problem is that Adrik has been crushing on her since joining the Bratva 8 years ago.
Annika is not like all the Bratva princesses. She is weird, quiet, and shy. Ever since recovering from a childhood trauma, Annika has liked playing her piano more than being with people. After a recent attempt on her life, Annika has been confined to a wheelchair. When Annika’s stalker reappears, she agrees to go into hiding but she wants to pick the guards. She picks Adrik and his partner. As Annika gets to know Adrik more, the more she knows that he is the one for her. But so much stands in their way.
When the stalker takes things to the next level, his identity is discovered. Adrik is haunted by this. Things come to a head when Annika is kidnapped and Adrik is left to the Bratva to be dealt with.
Let me say that I am a mafiosa at heart. I have not spent much time getting to know the Russian Bratva but if all are like the Popov Bratva, I will find room in my omerta’d heart for the brotherhood. Excellent story. Fantastic characters. Strong, sassy women!!! Just the right amount of heat. What is not to love? Not much!!!

Reckless Heart is the 2nd book in the Second Chances romance series. It could be enjoyed as a stand alone book. There are crossover characters and references, but there is enough background details provided that it doesn’t feel lacking. I really loved this book. Brad and Mary were friends in high school, and both had crushes on each other, but Mary ended up with one of Brad’s friends. A wedding brought them back into each other’s lives and a mutual friend pushed them together. They spent a holiday weekend reminiscing about the past. Will they both speak up about their feelings, both past and future? Or dwell on the hurt from teenage stupidity? Or perhaps bury the past and start over? Wouldn’t you like to know……

Jane Suen is a first time author for me. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Reckless Heart, especially being the second book in the Second Chance Romance series. Overall, this was a pretty good book. The characters were realistic, although I felt that some of their inner dilemmas were a little childish. Holding onto a hurt from ten years prior (when both parties were mostly oblivious to the feelings of the other party) seemed rather extreme to me, but did lend the story its main idea so it did work for the story. Jane Suen created a wonderful, realistic world as well. I did feel like the story ended rather abruptly, but overall, this was a good, quick read. I would recommend to anyone looking for a quick romance.

3/5 stars This was my first read by this author. The story line has potential to be very solid but the writing style didn’t mesh with me well. I felt like sometimes the word choices tried to be too unique and deep which lost me. The beginning of the book didn’t match the rest of the chapters to me and left me confused when I started reading the rest of the beginning.

Practically Pagan – An Alternative Guide to Magical Living by Maria DeBlassie, is an interesting book for anyone, not just people practicing Paganism. This book helps you to see that there is magic in everyday things such as books and you can take what comfort and healing you want or can use from them. She states that magic isn’t the hocus pocus everyone thinks it is, but rather a way of getting to know yourself. It is even mentioned that you could already be doing some types of magic without realizing it. How the routines you already do can be considered ritualistic in nature. Magic is a mind set in a way!
I’m a fan of paranormal books and wanted to learn a little more about magic. Being a Christian, I wanted to see how different people believed and practiced those beliefs. I really enjoyed reading about her journey and learning more about everyday magic.

This is the second book of this amazing series. In the first book, you get to read and learn a lot about the characters in this book. The author did amazing with transitioning into this book. Looking forward to the third book.

This book is part of a series, but it works as a stand alone book. I have not read any of the other books yet, but I still enjoyed this one. The main characters are Adrik and Annika. Adrik has facial disfiguration from his childhood and hides his face. Annika requests that Adrik guard her, and they grow close during that time. The story was a little predictable about the mafia princess falling in love with her guard, but it was well written and enjoyable. The best part of the story was that both characters had trauma that they pushed through. I loved that they helped each other grow and overcome their trauma.

This one took a bit fir me to get into. I read book one and felt it would take Austin a while to get over Mavis. So I was surprised in here how over the course of a few week/month he was mostly over her. He had previously spent ten yrs of his life…yes 10 pining and wanting Mavis. That is the one thing that bothered me about this story. I wish time was moved forward and Casey/Austin met then met again to make it more believable.
Otherwise the story is ok. I enjoyed seeing the previous characters and where they are now in their relationships. Casey is an adorable girl who lives in reality but lets her dreams come true too. Austin is a top notch lawyer with no plans to forget Mavis until he meets Casey. She changes his everything.

I really enjoyed this book. Connor our motocross champion and Sienna the downhill skiing Golden Girl. The paralympics are coming soon and both are training their hearts out at the same closed resort. Kurt the coach has kept it on the down low that Connor is there training as well. Sienna’s mom would lose her cool if she knew.
Sienna has had every move she makes planned and monitored during her entire skiing career, she is now starting to wonder what else is out there for her to enjoy and explore.
Connor lost his leg just below the knee in a motocross accident. He is missing the speed and is looking at downhill skiing to fill that void.
Will these two put animosities aside or will it come between their dreams.
