At the wedding for one of his War Brothers MC brothers, Reaper sees the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with, Ava. I thought this was a great beginning to a new series. Action packed, great characters for future books. Ava grows strong in this book and takes charge of her life, had some funny moments too.

I really found this book to be so emotional and utterly gripping. I connected with this story from the moment I started reading. I loved watching how it all unfolded and getting to know about the characters involved. Each were unique and interesting and their interconnecting journeys were fascinating to read. This story really hit home as I could not help but to compare it to when I travel with my children. The whole situation is unthinkable and yet the author does an amazing job at navigating the differing emotions. This was a gripping and well written story and I would highly recommend it.
We always enjoy books from this author in our household but I think this one has to be one our favourites. The characters are brilliant and so easy to connect with. They were entertaining and fun and I loved the fact that they were sisters. As usual, we have read this book multiple times but this is the first one from this author we read more than once in a day. Both of my kids really enjoyed this story, despite their difference in age. In a short space of time this author has become one of our most read and I can’t wait to keep reading her stories for years to come.

Lap Baby tells the story of three women who survived a plane crash twenty years prior. Each woman has coped with the crash in a different way as they try to move forward and overcome their grief. Paige was a baby, a lap baby, when the event occurred and was adopted after the accident. She is happy and just wants to forget that it ever happened. Marie has never gotten over the loss of her son who died in the accident and needed to blame someone for the crash. She has decided that it was Julie’s fault and wants revenge as the anger and hatred eats away at her. Julie was the flight attendant on the plane who had had to live with the choices she made during that day. She lives with the guilt and the consequences of her decisions. Each woman has learned to cope in a different way as they try to heal. They struggle with issues like alcoholism, PTSD, and self-doubt, that have a ripple effect through their lives.
This author was new to me, but I know that I will be looking for more of her writing. This book was based on a true story, which I did not know when I started to read it. It was compelling, heartfelt, heartbreaking, and hard to put down. The author did a beautiful job of sharing the stories of the survivors of this horrific plane crash and how it affected their lives even years later. The characters are beautifully written and relatable, so it is easy to get invested in their individual lives and story. This is an emotional read that will tug at your heartstrings and have you reaching for the box of Kleenex. I highly recommend this book!

Vassal of Magic is Book Three in The Virus of Beauty Series. The book picks up where the first two left off so I highly recommend reading them first or you may feel a bit lost. The story continues with Wilf as he struggles with his magical powers. As much as he wants to be a normal teenager, he must make the decision to tap farther into his magical abilities or allow an ancient magical realm to perish if he stands back and does not intervene. The problem is that he is unsure how to fully harness his magical powers and that makes things a bit trickier. The stakes are higher for Wilf this time and time is running out for Wilf to make a choice as he struggles to protect his girlfriend Katryna and his loved ones.
I have read and enjoyed this entire series and the author never fails to provide an entertaining story with magnificent writing. The scenes are vividly described and pull you into each scene with the characters. I loved the way the author wrote and described the magical realm and felt transported there with the characters. The characters are beautifully written, unique, quirky, and lovable. You cannot help but root for Wilf as he struggles with the dilemma of being normal or of fully harnessing his magic. Wilf struggled to believe in himself and his capabilities as he tried to decide whether harnessing the powers within him would make matters better or worse. He bore the weight of the world on his shoulders and was burdened with a major dilemma to save a magical realm and his loved ones. In this installment we see Wilf grow and become stronger as he and his friends work together. This book was full of action, suspense, danger, mystery, magic, wizards, witches, family, friendships, and love. I highly recommend this riveting and entertaining series.

Wilf Gilvary is back and this time a lot is at stake, after the recent events in Hong Kong, he is worried about those he cares about, but he is also trying to get a handle on his powers and the changes they have wrought in him. As he struggles to come to terms with all he has learnt recently, his is also trying to practice his control and he is only sometimes successful, especially when Katrina keeps occupying his mind, so when he is asked to return to the Magical Realm, he really doesn’t want to, he only wants to go back to his life before magic.
In the end, Will agrees to go back to the Magical Realm, but when he gets there, it is nothing like before, so the group he is in practice caution as they move around, but they almost immediately run into trouble and have to navigate the first set of dangers, albeit with a little help. Eventually, they manage to figure out what is happening and where they need to be, but the path, as usual, is never straight forward and barriers are thrown their way, but they are determined to succeed in their plans.
At this point, they discover something incredible which may hold the answers they are seeking, but it turns out that it is just one piece of the puzzle and only once they have all the pieces can Will hope to hone his powers into something useful, but in order to do this, he has to dive into the storm of ancient magic and uncover secrets which have been buried and maybe for good reason, but this journey is going to test him to his limits.
One good thing has come out of this trip however and that is that he is now able to sense where Katrina is, but is it real, or just a remnant from the broken love spell. Unfortunately, Will and his group are both following Katrina’s path and simultaneously being followed themselves and they find themselves in the middle of the warring factions of the witches and wizards again, meanwhile, Katrina is back in dangerous company and is again being held against her will, but the question is where is she and how will she find her way back to somewhere she knows and Will?
With the biggest decisions of his life to be made, can Will choose to leave his dreams behind in order to save the Magical Realm and all of those living within it, or will he choose a normal life in Hong Kong and sacrifice everything else? This is another magical journey against the clock, as Magic changes and evolves, while safety is constantly out of reach and danger lies around every corner in the epic journey across the realms.
I have read the other first two books to this series and I have to say just like the other ones this one did not disappoint. You can read these books any way you want but I think you would be more enjoyable to start from the beginning. I could not get enough of this book. This book was so intense that I was sucked in and couldn’t stop till I finished. Its fast pace so you need to make sure you hold on tight. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way thou. It was so detailed and vividly described that it makes you really feel like your right there beside Miranda as she goes, thou her experience of survival and struggles. The other characters of clowns, snakes, an evil corporation, mad scientists made this book very intriguing and just adds that little touch of suspense. I can stress enough on how amazing this book was and how much I really have enjoyed everything about the series and books.

This was a good read. It’s not my typical genre, but I liked the magical/fantasy aspect of it. I enjoyed being able to see the dual view points between Huli and Xiao as well as the way their relationship evolves and develops. It did take me quiet a while to get into the story and I wish the world building was done a little better. I felt parts of the plot were rushed and it does end on a cliffhanger. This is a MM romance. I would recommend this book, but I feel that there were parts that could have been done better.

It was an interesting story wish I would of read the first one to understand the characters a little more better. There was a little humor, and then lots of suspense but the ending wish would of been little different but guess that me being use to stronger endings , but still enjoyed reading the story. This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed from beginning to end. An engaging story where the author used details to give the story a realistic feel. This is a well written story that has twists and turns that you won’t see coming. A story full of suspense and action. A fast paced story about Mouse. She discovers that a family member has murdered someone but as she investigates this for a story, she is kidnapped. This is where the story picks up and is hard to put down. I had to know what happened to Mouse and if she survived. I enjoyed her character and what she added to the story made it that more entertaining to read. There is great growth of the plot throughout. The characters pull you into their world of suspense and murder. I really enjoyed reading this book and easy it was to read. I highly recommend this book.

This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed reading. One of the things I enjoy most about this author is their ability to pull me into the story and keep me engaged throughout. The characters are connectable and had me coming back for more. This is an emotional story about three women and one plane crash. How will they rebuild their lives and find themselves after a tragedy. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout. Their story is one of emotion and one you don’t want to miss. I enjoyed what they brought to the story and how they made it easy to read. This is a fast paced story that is hard to put down. You don’t want to miss what happens with these three women. I highly recommend this book.
I was a bit surprised by this story. The depth of feeling, the exposure to trauma, the direction of the story. There was just so much to appreciate. The only thing that I can’t take was the way it ended. How could Lyle do that? How could the author do that to me?!?!
This is the story of Kyle and Lyle. Brothers by heart and not by blood. Kyle grew up hard and fast. His mother died when he was very young. His father was not a good man. One day Kyle was at the playground when he saw a younger boy getting bullied. Kyle stepped up and defended that boy, Lyle. From that day forward Kyle and Lyle were inseparable. Unfortunately, Lyle’s life was not much different from Kyle’s. The only difference was that Lyle’s mom was still around until he was 12, Kyle was 14.
When Lyle’s dad found out about the relationship between Lyle and Kyle that had changed from more than just brothers, Kyle was kicked out. This was the first time Lyle felt Kyle’s abandonment. As Lyle and Kyle grew older, Lyle continued to deny his feelings towards Kyle because of all the horrible things Lyle’s dad had screamed at him for years after Kyle left. Kyle and Lyle had a huge fight, each saying some things they didn’t mean but it ended with them not talking. Now, their dad has died and it is time to go home to finally put him to rest.
Can Kyle and Lyle come together after 4 years apart to put everything behind them and move on? Will they destroy each other in the process?
This beautiful story of love, recovery, and family will touch you down to your soul. I suffered through a long day at work after a short night because I could not put this book down. I was gutted after each verbal argument. It was hard to watch Kyle walk away. It was even worse to see Lyle’s choices. I am still not sure all the pieces are put back together after the shattering ending. I can only hope the heart will mend after the next one. Phenomenal.

First off, let me say that this is a truly beautiful story. It is so well written. The story of 4 survivors of a plane crash. It follows them through their struggle as they adjust to life after the crash. The emotions they feel as they try to live their life will be felt as you read. I found the characters worked their way into my heart. I kind of felt that they had become my family as I read further into the book. This a book that you truly engage with. It is based on a true story. It is one of my favorites for 2023.
This was a cute story about Meg and her sister Sue. Meg is blind and Sue tried very hard to frighten Meg by talking about monsters but with every scary thing she says Meg answers her with something positive and explaining all the sense she uses to build up pictures in her mind. I can imagine many talking pints for children in this story about how Meg uses her other senses to see what is going on around her and whether Sue was being a good big sister or not. A well written story that was easy to read and illustrated beautifully as well.

I love it when I find a new authors work to read and I was so impressed by this book! MC stories are one of my favourite to read, I love an alpha male and the MC alpha males always seem to be the best – super protective and loyal! Reaper was no exception to this rule – I knew as soon as I started to read about him I was going to love his character. There was such a great connection between him and Ava and I was completely rooting for them the whole way through. I liked that their romance was a slow burn one I think it suited them. I thought this this was a great start to a new series and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

OMG I LOVED this book! From beginning to end I was completely hooked by what I was reading. I’ve read so many of this authors book now that I don’t even bother reading the synopsis I just grab and start reading and as per usual I was not disappointed. I honestly don’t know how she does it every time I say that’s my favourite until I read the next one! This book was just fantastic, this book is definitely dark and delicious from the very start. Lorenzo and Izzy’s story was amazing, she was definitely a match for him and I loved that about the two characters. This book could be read as a standalone but I would 100% recommend reading them in order, you won’t be disappointed!!

This is definitely one of those books I am glad I picked up, it was such a great read – I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I loved his writing style, I was gripped the whole way through and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what was going to happen next. I loved that it was different to what I usually read and the storyline was great – cozy mystery with a bit of music thrown in! Darcy was a great character to follow in this story, she was really relatable – she proved herself to be a great detective! I would definitely recommend this book to others and I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This is the 3rd book in The Virus of Beauty series. I really recommend reading these books in order so you get a complete idea of the story and the amazing world the author creates. This is a fantasy adventure and it has been one rollercoaster of a ride. There has been action, danger, magic and everything in-between. My heart goes out to Wilf. All he has wanted is to be a normal teenager but magic has other plans for him and because he is struggling to embrace the magic he’s stuck and can’t seem to move forward. This feeling has him questioning everything and wondering if he has what it takes to take the responsibility the magic requires. Wilf find himself questioning everything including his feelings towards Katryna. In this story Wilf needs to embrace his power if he is going to defeat the evil that is threatening everything he knows and loves. It is a story of magical danger and finally being able to embrace the person you are. Does embracing his magic mean that Wilf will be saying goodbye to his normal teenage life forever? What would be the consequences if he decides to turn his back on the magic? I was captivated with this whole series. It is a really unique story that takes the reader and a rollercoaster of emotions as we follows Wilf journey and adventure to save the magical Realms while still trying to remain a normal teenager.

This amazingly talented author simply never ever disappoints! This book is yet another example of her creativity and talent. It is raw, emotional and will keep you hooked all the way through as long as a push and pull type storyline is your cup of tea. Hell even if it isn’t your usual go to give this book a read. These two characters, brought together and bonded over violence, who fight their attraction for each other, will draw you in even when your heart wants to break for them at times. I will say it ends on a cliff hanger so be prepared.

I am really enjoying this adventure- and Ms. Van Spankeren raises the stakes here for us, and the characters- bringing even more tension, dramatic developments, and intrigue- in a high-stakes race against time which kept me glued to the pages to find out how everything would play out in the end. This is the second book of the Hidden Valley Elite series; the third if you count the prequel. It is the final part of the Cole and Riley’s story. And even though this is the end of Cole and Riley, the road to get there was not paved smoothly lmao at all but man was it an amazing emotional roller coaster to ride, intense too.Cole is a little butt at times but I’m glad that they got their happily ever after. I can’t wait to read the next one and see who the story will be about and how crazy that their lives get man oh man does this author really does know how to keep me coming back for more. I highly recommend reading these.

I did nothing but read this book since yesterday. Determined to finish it. I had so many questions and my curiosity had to be fulfilled. Zoey is amazing. The way she protects her loved ones. I can see why she had a hard time letting anyone in. Tristan took me a bit to warm up to. On one hand I understand his desire to take some of that burden away from Zoey but at times it came off forceful.

Oh my goodness! I am so in love with this couple and book. So much happens in a very short time and I could not stop reading from the moment I got home until it was done.
Riley and Cole have such amazing chemistry and the sparks are life changing for both of them.
This book will keep you in the edge of your seat especially the last third of the book and you will not want to put it down.
Totally worth every second spent reading and I am excited to get started on the. Next book in the series.

I love retellings of fairy tales, especially when it is a take I have yet to see. This is a wonderful Cinderella story set in the 1800’s. You get all those normal things like the slipper and wicked stepmother, but there is just so much more to this story. Ellie is under a curse that hides her true identity from the world. Can she figure out how to break it? Who holds the key to her heart?
