” You are not your worst mistake”
Toby Young had a pretty normal life before she ended up being convicted for helping an inmate escape prison. She was part of program that had inmates train dogs to be adopted out. That is where she met John Manard, the man she would fall in love with and help escape. A mom for two grown Boys, married for 20 plus years, she found herself wanting more from life and John was just the man to give that to her. Unfortunately, that also meant she would give up a lot without even comprehending what life she might end up having after said escape. 12 days on the run with him felt like a lifetime to the both of them.
Toby was arrested with John after those 12 days. She then found herself in the system she never thought she would, jail/prison.
This book tells of her crime and her redemption afterwards. The way the women in the system created a sisterhood unbreakable even by their crimes or movement within the system. A beautiful telling of how ” You are not your worst mistake”.
