OMG! This book is so good! This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. Gloria Oliver goes above and beyond with her character developments and chilling mystery. This is a very intense book with twists and turns. As an orphan, she’s used to not getting things to go the way she wants, but she, somehow, finally manages to get her dream job… cleaning up after homicides, suicides, and dangerous chemicals; only to find out the job is just a little too good to be true. Her employers put a, quite literal, bomb in her neck to make sure she’d keep quiet about the secrets she was soon to uncover. When a dangerous assassin gets let off the leash, she feels it’s her duty to catch the killer. Such an exceptional book that I could not bear to put down! Anxiously awaiting the next one…

What a super cute book! I really love the illustrations. I could see my 8 year old son being all about this book. I can hear him saying “well that’s not right” to how Jack handles the giant and telling me all about how he would deal with the situation. I feel like it’s a great book to spark a discussion with my little guys. I love classic story remakes like this one!

This is the second book in Green Street Girls series. This is a really moving story about friendship and how the girls have grown close together when they had no one else but each other. Each of the girls are unique and different and this story follows Indigo.
Indigo has had a hard upbringing which has left her fearful and scared of letting people in. She makes a promise to try and allow love into her life but she doesn’t hold out much hope. She is a successful gamer and software producer. From the outside it looks like she has it all but the shadow of her stepfather isn’t far behind. When she creates some software and is about to make a big deal with it suddenly threats appear. Threats that could mean harm to Indigo. While she is successful she struggles to form emotional relationships. When her relationship with Athena’s brother Gideon turns from friendship to something more this could be Indigos chance. But when things start to get rough with the threats will she allow and trust Gideon to protect her or will she push him away from fear of being let down and hurt again.
This is a moving and at times heartbreaking story. The author does an amazing job of making the characters emotions and fears jump off the page allowing the reader to fully understand and feel everything that is happening. This is also a story of hope as Indigo trys to move away from her past and create a better future for herself. This is a great captivating read.

This is the 6th book in this wonderful series and again another fantastic read. The author does an amazing job of transporting me back in time and in so many different places around the world. This time Emma and her great team are in Paris. The author descriptive language was brilliant, I definitely could imagine everything that I was reading. There were soe great historical references too which shows how much research this author puts into to her stories to make them feel so real. The makes you feel really involved in the story and I felt like I was right there with Emma trying to solve the mysteries that she was confronted with. Another great story in this series and one that I would highly recommend.
I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet. This is a well written story where there is a thin line between hate and love but what will happen when the lines are crossed? What will fate have in store for these two characters? I enjoyed how easily they pulled me into their world. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as their chemistry throughout. They are great, strong characters that made the story for me. Their story is one you don’t want to miss for sure. This is a fast paced, hard to put down, engaging story that I highly recommend.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I enjoy their writing style as well as their attention to details that make their stories pop. I found this book to be well written and engaging. The characters are creative, connectable and add so much to the story. They made the story easy to read and add some humor as well. This is a story about a gated community that is full of drama and secrets. This is a fast paced story that has great growth throughout which added to the entertainment value of this story. I really enjoyed reading this story about this community and the mystery the characters added to it. I highly recommend this book.

Broken was a really enjoyable read. I was looking forward to reading it after reding the first book in the series. The group of girls in the stories are great to read about. This book was Indigo’s story. She was such a. Great character to read about. I love the interaction between all the characters they are very entertaining and they definitely kept me entertained with the antics and their friendship really shines through. I liked Gideon as well, he was definitely prepared to step up and protect Indigo when she needed it. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series.

I loved this modern retelling of Jack & The Beanstalk. Infomercials, fast talkers, lazy, all the things that little boys can be. It’s funny, entertaining. My grandson was laughing at the giant and how the boys tricked him. The illustrations are wonderful. Another winner for this author.

I didnt know such a short prequel could contain so much drama and fun. The writing of this made it feel so impactful in such a short time, and I immediately fell for these characters. I loved each character we met, well except one, if you know, you know!!! This being so short it kind of ended on a cliffhanger and has me scrambling to grab the next and now I want to read the entire series. This has so many things in it to appeal to so many people like family drama, some spice, college atmosphere, sports. If you want something quick and exciting that will suck you in and get you started on a series than absolutely pick this up. I would recommend reading the other books in this series first to get everyone’s backstory. I didn’t and I wish I had so now I will go read the ones before this because I already love (almost) everyone so I want to read their stories!!

Brilliant! I had been looking for a ‘sink my teeth into’ series for awhile and then I came across this book. Filled with all the best aspects of an urban fantasy this book takes the reader on a journey into the world of Julia Xero. She’s had a lot thrown her way and has become pretty jaded. I love the author’s style and imagery as the story is delivered in a way that immerses the reader in narrative. I can’t wait to continue this series. Highly recommend!

Fated mates The third book in the Darkness & Light Duology series has suspense, action, drama, steam, magic and adventure. The author recaps certain specifics such as who the ElineFae are, which would allow this book to be read as a stand-alone. With a male triad relationship this is slightly different to the first two books but just as engaging. The imagery is really well done and the author creates a very impressive world. Recommend.

Love Bites More is the third instalment in the Darkness & Light Duology series and is a wonderful addition to the Love Bites World by T.L Clark. I fell in love with the ElineFae in the first two book- so to say I was so excited to find this third book had released is a bit of an understatement. I loved rediscovering the ElineFae, and even though it had been a while since I read the original two books Ms. Clark refreshes our memory with a bit of an overview of what has happened previously- so this could definitely be read as a standalone, if you want. But having said that, I really recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one- because the original duology is truly exquisite, and you would definitely be missing out by not having read them first. As with the other two books, this is an original story full of imagination and clever and intriguing touches. This instalment is a little different from the previous books, in that it is a MM menage romance (threesome)- but woven around it is the wonderful fantasy world we have come to know and love from the original two books. Cleverly crafted with paranormal details, witches, magick, dragons, mystery, suspense, violence, danger, kidnapping, longing, angst, action, adventure, and so much more that resulted in an enthralling read. After reading the first two books and loving them as much as I did, I must admit that I had high expectations for this one- and I am sooo happy to say that Ms. Clark didn’t disappoint, she delivered everything that I was hoping for, and more. This story reintroduces us to Elan and Arwyn whom we met in the original duology, as they are Pryderi’s friends. But joining them is Hassan- shaking things up and adding a large dose of spice to the mix. I loved that we also got to catch up with Shakira and Pryderi from Books one and two, too- making the story even more captivating, for me. As expected, the characters are wonderfully developed individuals with their own personalities, quirks and flaws. And I have to say, again, that I am blown away by all the unique touches that Ms. Clark has given her story and the characters- there is such a vast array of magical creatures who inhabited these books- they really made the story/series such an exciting and memorable experience. And then, there is the matter of the incredible world building skills that Ms. Clark demonstrates throughout this story/series. She really brought the whole thing to life using her rich imagination, and flare with words. I really can’t wait to read whatever Ms. Clark writes next! Happy Reading…

The Secrets They Hide is the second book in the Commissario Scala Mystery series by P.J. Mann. Having read an Inspector Scala mystery before, I knew this would be another well-woven and suspenseful crime & investigation mystery- which is exactly what I found between the covers of this intriguing story. With murder, police procedure, action, gripping developments, drama, twists, secrets, tension, lies, corruption, and interesting characters, Ms. Mann doesn’t disappoint, delivering an engrossing story. Another mystery is set in Rome, which definitely adds an extra element of interest to the whole story. Scala is drawn into another complex case when a mysterious message leads him to a series of murders. Time plays a factor, especially if he’s to unravel everything before the murderer strikes again. The Secret Humankind is the first book in The Discoveries of Julia Xero series by Gloria Oliver. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Oliver, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories- but I love action-packed urban fantasies, and the blurb promised a gripping read- so I let my one-click finger loose and snapped up a copy and immediately set off to join the adventure. I have to say that this turned out to be a surprising little gem! While I knew by the blurb that I would probably like the story, I certainly didn’t expect to love it as much as I did/do! I am now kicking myself that I hadn’t discovered this talented author before now- but am also a little excited to now have a new author to follow and enjoy. I feel a massive book-binge coming on. This was such a fantastic urban fantasy with mystery, action, adventure, suspense, thrills, crime and investigation, assassins, paranormal beings/creatures/monsters, complexity, layers, secrets, quirky characters, superb world building, rich details + descriptions, dramatic developments, and so much more. Julia is a glass-half-empty kind of girl. Her life hasn’t been easy, and she could do with life giving her a bit of a break. When she scores her ‘dream’ job, she has no idea that her whole world is about to be turned upside down. What she discovers sets her on an action-packed adventure that she could never have predicted. What ensues makes for a sublime read. I really can’t wait to devour more instalments in this exciting series- as well as to explore Ms. Oliver’s other works. Colour me happy right now. This is book number one of this thrilling series and it does not disappoint.
The small town atmosphere created within this story is quaint, close knit and felt safe enough to leave their doors unlocked at night. Very unassuming and typical of an old fashioned lifestyle that is the appeal of living in such conditions.
The small town was shaken at the core after a suspicious fire took the lives of two individuals, one of which is a child. To make matters worse, a newlywed couple has gone missing. For a community so used to being supportive and open with each other, they find themselves questioning the latest events, and the possibility of not feeling safe again.
The community struggles to make sense of things, the lack of clues and the thought of hidden secrets belonging to an individual or group of folks who are less than upstanding and downright dangerous.
This thriller has all of the makings of a great introduction into The House On The Hill series. In true great horror story fashion, it brings to mind that the plot could be easily adapted into a stirring movie or series.
I cannot wait to see what happens next after the electrifying cliff hanger.

The Secret Humankind is an engaging urban fantasy mystery. It is the first book in this new series from Gloria Oliver. Gloria is a new author to me, and I enjoyed her work. Her world-building is well done, and she has cleverly woven together complex threads in a multi layered story. The intriguing plot is fast-paced and full of suspense, tension, frustration, fear, desperation, This darkish occult thriller is a page-turner and is action packed with mayhem, aliens, supernatural beings, humans, secrets, mystery and magic. Gloria’s narrative and a few twists and turns makes it easy to become intrigued with the characters and their journey. Have a murder on your hands? Have a crime scene? Need the mess to go away? Need a crime-scene cleaner? Then Julia is your girl. I wonder where the series goes. I look forward to reading more.

Cruel start was a short but truly amazing beginning for the Aspen and Phoenix story. This is the prequel to the next two both which will revolve around the two.😭😭😭 It makes me so sad to have to wait for the next 2 books in this series. I need to know what happens between them now 🤣😭. I’m also looking forward to seeing all the complex characters again and what role they play in these next books. Hopefully they help out and not make things worse 😂. I hope Aspen and Phoenix can work it out for the little one or ones lmao you know twins run in the family lmao
Cruel Start is part of Isla Vaughns Hidden Valley Elite series. Let me tell you what is cruel… me not realizing this was a prequel novella! As I finished I was internally screaming NOOOO that’s it?! It was, over too soon. Really though, I should have known better. However, this is just the prequel for the two part story of Aspen and Phoenix. When one moment of passion turns their worlds upside down, the pair need to figure out how to deal with the impending future. I am so excited to see where this couple goes and what happens between them. I’m also excited to hopefully catch some glimpses of our previous characters.

This was a great 5 star read. This author continues to pull me in with her writing. This is quickly becoming a favorite series of mine. This is 4.5 prequel that has me wanting the next two books now. Phoenix and Aspen have a chance encounter that turns into a steamy fling that could change both their lives forever. You could feel their chemistry coming off the pages. What will happen when Phoenix gets the news? What will they do? I can’t wait to see where things go for these two. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Love Bites More is part of TL Clarks the Darkness & Light Duology and the Love Bites world. Even though it is part of this world it is most definitely a stand-alone. She made sure to give a quick overview of things that have happened in the other books so as a reader we understand where they come from and who they are.
It is just as good as the other books, but it is very different to the other Love Bites books. Even though there are other things happening in their world this book is primarily about the relationship of these sexy but growly men with wants and needs.
It is a paranormal romance tale of a male triad. They now have to find a new norm in their relationship that was once only two but is now three. It is fund and a bit of an intense emotional rollercoaster as we watch these possessive males find each other and become fated mates.
In this intriguing read there is never a dull moment as we get to know and understand the complexities of these characters, their ways of living and their world.
TL made this an action-packed exciting read. Add in a little fun banter, a whole lot sexy, Elinafae, witches, Magick, dragons and you have everything to keep you entrenched in the story.

Diversity. Balance. Though this is the fourth book in the series it is the first book I have read by the talented Winnifred Tataw. While I was initially concerned about being confused about the story or not being able to understand what was going on I found I had no issues with understanding. This book was very informative about building the world and characters in the first several chapters. So, I am confident in saying that from experience this book could be read as a standalone, though I plan to go back and read the previous three soon. Told through several characters’ perspectives, it gives a well-rounded story. Alistine was once a part of the castle staff now with the crowned prince Rayden. Arcelia is the girlfriend of Prince Rodrick, Rayden’s brother. Rodrick, prince of Diar but also the Acolyte of Time. Nikolai the Acolyte of Life. While all the characters have their side story or own situations, they are all tied together to varying degrees. Arcelia is determined to prove that she is not like her family that she is not with Rodrick for power but for love, primarily to his mother Queen Riva. Nikolai has many duties as the acolyte of life, one being as an unbiased tiebreaker for the beings of balance. In past situations when he was needed, he was given details on who or why a person was so important to upcoming events but this time he has told very vague details. Leading him to wonder if he knows the person that could be the single sacrifice. When all things begin to change where will they fall in the balance of the world. What is better sacrifice one or many, did Nikolai make the right choice? Will Alistine and Rayden finally complete the process of her becoming his princess? How will Arcelia’s visit with her estranged family go? Was Alistine’s feeling that something wasn’t right worth worrying about? The world that the author creates is beyond fascinating in not only the mix of cultural diversity but with the blurred lines between the past and present. Honestly at first, I thought this was a story placed more in medieval times, or closer to that era, until the mention of “scrolling through my phone” and the realization that it was a more current story in terms of technology. The story reminded me in many ways of Game of Thrones in terms of one overlaying story but each character or set of characters having their own side story simultaneously to the main plot. I can’t wait to read the previous books and will be keeping my eyes out for what comes next.

I was so excited for Kimber to get her own book when she was introduced in book one. Kimber is another interesting character. Her family has kept her secret for most of her life. Seeing her as weak and useless, until she comes into her power. She is then conscripted into the vampire army, and her coven leader finds out about her powers. Enter Fabian. He is a shaman that is supposed to help maintain balance, but evil has woven it’s way into this organization so it’s hard to know who is friend and who is foe. The character’s chemistry when they are introduced to each other is off the charts! I loved the continuation of the story from their perspective and the series just keeps getting better and better! I loved this book just as much as the others and I hope she keeps going!

4.5 stars I have only read one book by P.J. and enjoyed it so was happy to scoop this book up and start reading. The Secrets they Hide is the second book in this A Commissario Scala Mystery in Rome crime series. This book may be part of a series, but it reads just as easily as a standalone novel. Detective Maurizio Scala is back with a new case in the beautiful city of Rome, Italy. He finds himself tangled in a web of lies and deceit. A cryptic message leads him to a series of murders. It is not in his nature to give up even if it leads danger to his door. The Secrets they Hide is a gripping murder mystery that is full of action, suspense, and a few twists and turns to keep you interested. It is fast paced with lots of tension and suspense and realistic interactions and banter between characters. This whodunnit is well written and kept me intrigued throughout. If you enjoy a crime story, you won’t be disappointed.

This book sucked me in right from the start. I typically don’t read soft horror or paranormal psychological thrillers, but I could not put this damn book down! It’s so good! It’s told from the perspective of the Woods family in split POVs, with a couple third person chapters thrown in there too. I’ve never read anything by this author before, but he’s definitely one of my new go-tos. The only thing about this book that upset me was the ending, since it ends in a cliffhanger because it’s part of a trilogy. However, the writing style is immaculate. It’s a very quick and easy read: Under 300 pages. Y’all, do not wait on this book. It’s absolutely fantastic and 100% worth the read. And for the author, thank you. And hurry up with book 2!!

This book is a day in life of multiple seniors in a gated community. A woman who will do anything to keep her plot in the community garden. A dog being left to its own devices while its owner is away, barking non stop making a few members angry. Maybe even angry enough to do something about it. A tiny woman with a huge dog who farts a lot. A very active HOA with its own agenda. All these things seem basic enough. No way are any of these grounds for murder…right?
I have read a few novellas from this author. While they normally write more towards a fantasy aspect, I was excited to try something different from them. The book was quite amusing. Each character had their own things to deal with with a big personality. It was like reading a soap opera with a bunch of seniors. So much drama. I loved it.

As with all stories in this series it can be read as a standalone but I prefer to read them all in order.
Heath and Grace was one of my favorites of this series and I think it had to do with Maggie.
I love how the women while sensitive and have insecurities are also strong willed and stick up for themselves. I really enjoyed watching their story unfold.
