If you just picked this up without reading the previous books in the series, put this down (momentarily) and read the others (in order) first. These books are absolutely addicting and easy and quick to read but they must be read in order. Just like the previous books in the series, I was pulled in from page one and couldn’t put it down. I have read every book in this series in one sitting. Vaughn is so descriptive it is like you are there living all of this with them. The movie in my head easily plays out while reading this. I consider my self fantastic at casting! This is a must read! Perfect beach read that one could easily finish in one beach trip.
This interesting book starts with Kay, a true workaholic, signing up for a holiday experience like nothing she has ever done before and soon develops into so much more. If a slightly twisted Greek mythology tale intrigues you then this book is for you! It is definitely full of drama, angst, heat, interesting family dynamics and loads more.

Imagine a community that is for retired folks who are still completely independent that is surrounded by lush green grass, a garden, and lots of nosy neighbors! Sounds like Hometown, USA these days!!
This story focuses on people who live within the Oaken Acres community who are all fractured in some sort of way. You have a widow who plots to kill someone just because she doesn’t like them, a lonely woman who hates the sound of the dog barking next door, the abused woman trying to escape the evil hands of her ex-husband…this book mostly features women.
I struggled a bit to get into this story because I thought it might be a bit more of a thriller. It’s really more of a laid back, sometimes snarky, sometimes funny story about this lovely community. All the things that happen within a HOA are covered here. The murder happened long ago and you learn more about it but I was hoping for a bit more with this book.
Overall, a good book to read. Many will be able to substitute names of those they know to make this story more interesting.

Athena and Tru’s story bring you in from the very beginning. This is a great romance. The way the writer portrays the characters it feels like you are right there with them going through everything they are going through. I love that this isn’t one of those fairytale romances that portrays life and relationships as all sunshine’s and rainbows. It’s real and gritty.
Country music singer Joe is recovering in a remote cabin after surgery with strict orders of not a single peep. During a storm, Ali seeks refuge in the cabin and Joe is very surprised, and pleased that Ali doesn’t recognize him. Ali is looking for clues for her brother and Joe is not sure where is Current “relationship” stands. With so much going on in both their lives, they both fight to ignore the sparks that are between them. After they part ways, a year and a half goes by and neither can shake those days they spent together in the cabin
This is my first book by this author and I am looking forward to the next books in the series.

Indy and Gideons story is so sweet. This books has lots of twists and turns in it. It has romance, comedy, suspense all rolled into a great package. The author really has a great way of drawing you in and keeping you going until the last page and then you want more. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

The Silent Woodsman is Book One in The Olympic Peninsula Series. It is an unlikely romance story that focuses on the characters of Ali Ryan and Joe Bob Blade. Ali has gone to the woods to seek solace after the loss of her brother. She gets caught in a bad storm and falls on the deck of a cabin in the woods. The owner of the cabin, JJ, takes her in and the two spend the next couple of days getting to know each other. The tricky part is in the fact that they can only communicate by writing because JJ is recovering from a serious surgery. What Ali does not know is that JJ is really a famous country music singer. Over the course of their time together Ali and JJ begin to develop feelings for each other. Unfortunately, they both must return to their lives in the real world. Is there any hope for Ali and Joe Bob to find their way back to one another and have a relationship? This was a beautifully written story that fully immerses the reader in the lives of the main characters of Ali and Joe Bob, while also introducing us to other characters for future stories. The author writes in vivid detail that makes you feel as though you are there in the story along with the characters. This book will pull you in from the beginning and have you hooked until the end.

Murder in a Gated Community is an interesting novella for senior citizens in a gated community. This is a slice-of-life story of seniors and their day-to-day living in their community. The characters were interesting, albeit somewhat what you would expect in a senior community. You learn about all of the politics of a HOA and how some like to make life miserable for others. The different characters are familiar if you live in a closed community. Because of being familiar with the different types of personalities, there was a good bit of humor in the story to me. I found this story interesting and relatable. The writing was solid, and I like that they kept the story from getting overly long. I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Oathbreakers Anonymous is a fantasy adventure filled with action, adventure, fun, fantasy, mystery, and great characters. The story centers around the character of Marluck who is on a journey to redeem himself. He gathers a ragtag group of unlikely heroes and heroines to help him gain back everything that he has worked so hard for after an unfortunate fall from grace. The ensuing journey teaches them all some valuable lessons. The storyline was intriguing, and the setting was described so vividly that it immerses you fully into the fantasy world of the world of the characters. The characters were endearing, and I found myself rooting for the ragtag group to overcome the obstacles thrown at them and come out on top. A great read with some twists and turns that will pull you in and have you reading until the end.

3.5 stars Laura Koerber surprises her readers by having a varied genre of telling a story. Murder in a Gated Community is different again and certainly a surprise. Imagine a group of old people in a gated community with no filter. Not the norm for stories, no but it does lend for some humour and wit. The old adage about being old but not dead rings true for most of the inhabitants of Oaken Acres in this entertaining story. The plot is intriguing and definitely unexpected but fun and had me laughing out loud at times. With furry friends, secrets, lies, garden politics, challenges, longing, friendships. It is a story with a deeper meaning of looking at your past and adjusting to where you are now. This heart-warming tale is full of a colourful cast of characters each having their own heartaches, issues, grumps, gripes and whinging. Unfortunately, the ending felt like there was a lot left unresolved and ended abruptly. Whether or not that leaves it open for more I don’t know but I felt a little lost. Having said that I did enjoy the story. If you enjoy murder mysteries, you will enjoy Murder in a Gated Community.

WOW what a tale! Shadowed Obsession is the first gripping book in the Shadow Defense Security series. I love a good suspense thriller and Mavery Ellscott’s debut book is just that. This is an author to watch. The story is fast-paced, and the tension starts from the outset and doesn’t let up. I found myself on the edge of my set more often than not. I was also checking out my surroundings and being hypervigilant and that was just in my lounge room. This romantic suspense thriller is high on danger, with characters who are well developed and interesting and plot lines that are gritty but feel believable. It is as captivating as it is disturbing and is highly entertaining. It is a riveting tale is full of suspense, action, intrigue, suspicions, attraction and humour. Shadowed Obsession has a great plot and is well written drama. With a stalker with sinister intent on the prowl her safety is paramount. The twisty turns keep you turning the pages. When the normal channels can’t help Keira enlists the help of her sexy neighbour Cade and the Shadow Defense Security. It is an absolute must read you won’t be disappointed. I am patiently awaiting more now.

The Silent Woodsman is book 1 of the new Olympic Peninsula series which is set in the 1990’s. It was an interesting and heartfelt tale will have you falling in love with our MC’s as they navigate their feelings. A storm brought them together, but their worlds keep them apart. Cat’s vivid narrative definitely bring this story to life. There are many small storylines and an interesting supporting cast of many, but the overarching story is about JJ a country music superstar and Ali a down on her luck kind of gal. She believes that her twin is still alive and refuses to believe otherwise. He struggles with his world, surgery and relationship with his music partner. She is too good to be taken down by his world and she has no idea who he is. With one song he hopes to find what is missing and she dreams of a man and two days in the woods. With pressures, fame, jealousy, frustrations, hopelessness, hope, passion and sparks the story has a little of everything for romance lovers. The Silent Woodsman is a well-written fun romance tale, but you will have to read the book to have all your questions answered. With surprising plot developments and some emotional twists, A Silent Woodsman, should be a must on your reading list. Whilst I really enjoyed the story there were times where the pace seemed a little slow and towards the end it felt a little rushed. But I cannot wait to see what Cat brings to the second book in the series.

4.5 stars “When the Divine needs an intervention” When I read this, I knew it would be good. This wry sense of humour is right up my alley. Oathbreakers Anonymous by Scott Warren is a very funny adventure fantasy tale like no other that is wonderfully twisted, original and unique. This well-crafted tale will have you laughing out loud at the wit and antics of the fallen paladins and the woeful Oathbreakers Guild who need to leave the ale to set out on a journey to redeem themselves to the gods. With unexpected twists, intrigue, action and humour it will delight those who like a well-crafted quirky tale. The wonderful and strangely endearing characters are well thought out and well written that you can’t help but love them all. I hope there is more of these characters to come. I look forward to more from Scott Warren!

This is the second book in the Coins/Hours duology. I do wish I had listened to the first book prior to this one to learn more about the characters and previous events, but it did not detract from my enjoyment of this one.
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook, a possibility for romance containing action, suspense and twists! I enjoyed this story, it was different to most I’ve read, making it unique and more enjoyable.
I felt the characters were well developed, and well-written. I admired Gabriela’s strength and dedication and felt the narrator did a particularly good job in bringing her to life.
I’ll be getting the first book to start the duology over, and looking for more from this author!

I sure enjoyed this continuation of The Coin series. Gabriela and Richard took this story to a whole new level. The spy game and time travel just made it so fanflippingtastic. I used to think The DaVinci Code was great but I have since changed my mind. I found the protagonist in this series are well-written and developed. The antagonist fit their role perfect. The story flows smooth and it just is. Listening to this in audio was different. It is enjoyable in audio. I do with the variety in voices had been more. I am and always will be a fan of variety and not just the same voice. It’s worth the listen because it’s got the same thrill and is exciting.

This prequel drew me in right away. Aspen is dealing with so much parent drama that she escapes to the cove to cliff jump. (That would not be relaxing to me.) I’d be terrified. This is where she meets Phoenix, the super hot guy that makes Aspen speechless.
The author is focused on the main characters but the back story and characters are going to hook you as well. I will most definitely read the next two books in the series.

This was an enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Country music heartthrob Joe Bob Blade is under strict doctors orders to not speak, and so takes himself off to an isolated cabin in the Hoh Rain Forest. He didn’t expect to find a woman collapsed on his doorstep during a freak storm, however he takes Ali in to look after her. Joe is surprised when it is obvious that Ali does not recognise him, and so decides to keep his identity a secret, as he’s enjoying being treated like a ‘normal’ guy. Even though Joe can only communicate by writing the connection between the pair is obvious, however they both resist as the timing is awful. It’s not until they are both back in the real world again that Joe realises that Ali never told him her surname. Both of them struggle to move on, and even a year and a half later they have not forgotten the two magical days they spent together. No spoilers as to whether they find each other again! I loved the original storyline with the main male character not being able to speak, as this added a different dimension to the story. The chemistry between Ali and Joe really came across in the story and the descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting to life.

Baby bear asks Goldilocks for help with her project, but can Goldilocks figure out how to use the six simple machines to help her?
This is such an adorable take on a fairytale. It would be a fun introduction to the simple machines or even just to help identify in a lesson.
A great little story for kids who love fixing things, teachers using simple machines, and homeschooling parents with science lessons!

While this is the second book in this duology, The Book of Hours is the first book I have read by this author. That being said, I was easily able to follow the story without having read the first book. I do feel like I could have benefitted by reading The Coin beforehand, and learned more of these characters, and will be going back to read that soon. The characters were easily relatable and the scenes were vivid and easy to picture. While there is suspense and romance, there is plenty of action and danger as well. When art enthusiast Arnold Wickham wants to purchase Gabriela’s work before an upcoming auction, and she refuses, things get a bit intense. Fueled by the rejection, Wickham will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. Richard Harrison, the man in love with Gabriela, will do anything within his power to keep her safe. I am not usually interested in romance novels but there was plenty of mystery, suspense, danger and action to keep me turning the pages. I definitely feel like reading the prior book would have helped me “know” the history and characters better, but I still enjoyed this read.

This is the first in the Olympic Peninsula series focusing on Ali and Joe.
The beginning chapters were very sweet and started the story well. The writing was very descriptive, painting a vivid picture of the rainforest and log cabins. The chemistry builds between Ali and Joe quite well and I began rooting for the couple.
My heart went out to Ali and what she was going through (and what she previously went through) but admired the strength she displayed in surviving and moving forward.
Following the initial chapters, we are shown the pair separately which started well, however I personally felt this went on a little longer than necessary and slowed the pace of the book right down. This did then pick up again in part 2 but then there were a couple of things thrown in which felt a little random. Despite this, the story was still very interesting, and I enjoyed reading.

This book is fun and entertaining from the get go and the perfect afternoon type read. The main characters are so well written and are so easy to like. I loved watching their initial connection develop, even if it wasn’t the most conventional start. Their relationship felt so natural and unforced, it was a joy to read. This is another new author I will be adding to my list as I enjoyed every moment of reading this book. I love that it is the first book of a new series and I am excited to see what else will come.

What a fantastic and entertaining book this is from start to finish. This book had a completely different feel to what I was expecting and I think that drew me in even more. If I had known this book was about snarky elderly women with twisted thoughts… I would have read it sooner!! Murder in a Gated Community is such an awesome short story. I really love the way that Koerber develops the characters and how the animals come into play. I love that they all have their own mental issues, but I was surprised by the end, definitely went a different way than I anticipated this bitter, wild-card of a woman would fall off her rocker. Loved it! Put it on your list!

Richard felt he needed to make himself the man who deserved Gabriela. Now he is back and has no plans to go anywhere. Can he keep Gabriela protected while earning her trust again, can they find their second chance?
I listened to this on audible. I thought the story was great, it was full of twists and turns. You are pulled into a complicated relationship and suspenseful story. The audiobook though I was not a fan of the narrator, she is soft spoken and has no real inflection in her voice which conflicts with the overall tone of this edge of your seat story. Overall I would check out more by this author and go back to read the first book.

This is a interesting and captivating fun fantasy adventure. The author does an amazing job of creating characters that grip you and don’t let go. I was fully invested in Marluck’s journey and learning about all the people he meets along the way. This story is unique and filled with twists and turns that I couldn’t put it down. I was gripped from beginning to end.
Marluck has been disgraced and discarded as part of the Goddess’s of fates champions. He had everything and lost it all. Now he’s on a quest to find his way back to claiming his position and everything he has lost. When he teams up with other disgraced and discarded people they band together to journey and reclaim their places. Each person’s story is different but they share one goal. To get back what they have lost. What follows is an adventure filled with twists and turns as they all follow their own paths to hopefully find redemption and to return to their lives as they were before.
This is a great fantasy adventure filled with moments of laughter and fantastical beasts that really spark the imagination. The story is unique and captivating. I loved it

The Book of Hours (Coin/Hours Duology Book #2) by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra continues the adventure of Gabriela and Richard. This is not the first time that fate has put these two together in difficult, life and death situations. This book is full of mystery and suspense, but it does kind of start off slowly in the beginning. The wait is well worth the twists and turns that Maria puts the reader and characters through, you will be captivated by the precision used to describe the various places Gabriela and Richard explore. Needless to say the action and suspense will keep you hooked until the very end of the book. Throughout the whole book, I kept rooting for Gabriela and Richard to find a way to make their love work and to finally put all of the danger behind them… However, knowing Gabriela, trouble would find another way to crash into her life. If you like mysteries and suspense, this is a wonderful read, and I highly recommend it!

I thought the retelling was great. It was a nice way to add stem to the story without making it boring. Kids don’t realize that they’re using these methods in their everyday life, like how they pour the milk into their bowls. I also liked that in this version, Goldilocks is trying to help make things better instead of being a nuisance like in the original. Like other readers I found the illustrations to be lacking and don’t match the cover you’ll see on purchasing sites.
