Friends to lovers but more This is the second book in the Green Street Girls series and it did not disappoint. The writing is full of imagery and the characters have depth. This is Indigo’s story which covered a range of emotions. The friendship between the girls runs strong and Indigo needed all of them along with Gideon to be able to face the threat. Thoroughly enjoyable and looking forward to the next book. Recommend.

Sage Advice by Cori Cooper is a YA story with humour, emotion, teen angst & drama, self-discovery, friendship, family, clean romance, first love, growing up, message/lessons, learning that you don’t need to ‘know everything’, and it’s ok to not have all the answers. As I have mentioned before, Ms. Cooper is a talented storyteller who has the ability to create such wonderful characters and really interesting plots that have a deeper meaning, which to me, is a true testament to her writing skills. She never fails to draw me into her world, keeping me engrossed the whole way through. As expected, this is a sweet story that mixed some poignant ‘lessons’ and issues with some fun and a little emotion. Another enjoyable read from her. Looking forward to more from Ms. Cooper! This book had me hook line and sinker from the very beginning! I was so enthralled with it, which made it the perfect distraction while I waited on my husband to get out of surgery. I absolutely loved Athena’s tenacity, and honestly, I think my favorite character was Tru’s mom in the beginning. Athena’s growth throughout the book was something I applaud the author for. This is the first book I’ve ever read by this author, and I absolutely loved it! I read it on Kindle, but good lord I know I’m going to end up purchasing the physical copy as well. This book is phenomenal, and I’m so excited to get started on book 2!!!

I thought I loved Tru, but holy hell, Indigo and Gideon are my new favorites. These can be read as a stand alone, but flow better if you read the books together in the series. This book was absolutely fantstic, with amazing characters and a delicious slow burn friends to lovers romance plot. Ended on an HEA, for all of the girlies who love those endings. I absolutely love this author, and I love her books. Please check out the first book in the series and give this one a shot as well! It’s a gorgeous, detailed contemporary romance with the perfect plot to spice ratio!

Planting Hope by Jennifer Raines is a wonderful women’s fiction story with a contemporary romance, dealing with trauma, garden therapy, a research project with a difference, chemistry, quirky characters, passion blooms, family, friendship, connection, drama, the healing power of love, finding love unexpectedly, and hope. This is a sweet story that has a real heart and soul to it. With plenty of emotion that tugged at my heartstrings. Holly and Kit aren’t your ‘typical’ romance leading characters, but their story is definitely romantic and heart-warming- and they’re just perfect for each other. I love seeing what Ms. Raines brings to the table with every new release, and I think this book might just be her ‘best-yet’! Looking forward to what she does next. Guarding the Crease is the ninth book in The Playmakers series by G.K. Brady. It is a contemporary sports (hockey) romance with opposites attract, drama, angst, family, friendship, teammates, banter, humour, emotion, sweet details, character growth and development, and finding love unexpectedly. I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this book to begin with because from what I thought I remembered of Wyatt from previous books, I hadn’t particularly liked him- so I was worried that I would hate him and his book. But, surprisingly, he won me over. This is a bit of a slow-burn story that I had a little trouble settling into to begin with. I found parts felt like they were too slow, and made the story feel like it was lagging/dragging. But once I found ‘my groove’ and the pace picked up a bit, I enjoyed the ride. I have missed a few books in this series between this the last instalment I had read, so I might need to go back and catch up before continuing with any new additions.

I was so excited to find that this author had book 6 in this series! This story takes you to Paris, France for the 1889 Paris Exposition. The 4 split off into pairs and tackle both mysteries and come across many people who say they are friends, but are they really? Broken is the second captivating instalment in the Green St. Girls series by N.D Jackson. I love it when one of Ms. Jackson’s books hits my Kindle and I can lose myself in her lovely creation- and after getting a taste of this series from the first book, I very happily dove right in to this second addition to follow along with the Green Street Girls to see what they had in store for us this time. It is another great read- a contemporary romance- with a bit of a friends to lovers element, plenty of emotion, family, friendship, challenges, risks, self-doubts, chemistry, wonderful characters, angst, drama, discovery, and heartwarming details. Again, Ms. Jackson has produced a book which has all the ingredients that I look for that will keep me avidly reading- which this story definitely had, so before I knew it I had devoured the whole book- and now I can’t wait for Book #3. As expected, N.D Jackson writes beautifully- her descriptive details brought the whole story to life. The characters especially are really well developed, complex, and quite endearing. I love the Green St. Girls- Indigo, Athena, Gwyn, and Charlie…. so, I am really looking forward to more of their stories. Happy Reading!

Yummy cover 😍 I’m picking up author A. S. Roberts for the first time after reading this, and going through her page. I’m definitely going to continue reading this author. Planting Hope by Jennifer Raines. This was such a good twist on a contemporary romance, Its set in Australia which is a good change as well. Its the story of Holly who is a nurse and happy with her job until she see a coworker murdered in front of her. Holly decides she needs to get out of town and so she travels down the coast doing odd jobs and volunteering. Holly is a very free spirit and loves to just do what she feels when she meets Kit he is the total opposite. He’s struggled with several demons left over from his childhood and now tries to help others. He has formed a program to see if gardening can help people get thru traumas. When Holly takes the place of the on site nurse that is helping him research the project feelings become involved. They learn from each other and their own traumas and hope they can put them to use to help others. Falling in love is another matter neither of them see coming. I could not wait until book 2 of the Green St Girls arrived and I was definitely NOT disappointed! Fantastic story and I loved getting to know Indigo and this book gave me romance, friendship, drama, past trauma, twists and turns and some spicy moments between Indigo and Gideon. I recommend reading this series from the beginning……I am hoping for more.
Indigo is well known in the gaming world, developing games and also a big invested project that the government is highly interested in. Along side of her team, she develops a very strong, close friendship with Gideon, who is Athena’s brother. Gideon is a true protector and wants what is best for Indigo….as Indigo comes closer to signing an important contract that is worth so much……threats against her are imminent. When the threats are more personal, will Gideon be able to save Indigo when she needs him the most…or will she do what she does best…push him away…
This is a great read and I truly love this author’s storytelling……I cannot wait for more!

These books never disappoint. Although #6 in the Notebook Mysteries Series, this can be read as a stand alone, with that said, you are really missing out on good reads if you don’t read the previous 5. Reading the previous 5 books may help with character background and relationship dynamics. This book is very much like the previous 5, in the sense it’s a page turner. It is certainly a warm cozy mystery. This book is suspenseful but not dark or heavy, which for me is refreshing. I truly cant wait for the next adventure.
Brutal Nights s is Book 4 in the Hidden Valley Elite series and I would NOT suggest reading this as a standalone, if anything the books can be read in pairs 1&2, and 3&4. So if you think you are ready to dive into this one but haven’t read Brutal Days, pick up Brutal Days and read that first.
This book picks up right where Brutal Days left off, and thank goodness because that was such a cliff hanger. The character dynamics get intense. This was another fast paced can’t put down book. I am an Isla Vaughn fan.

Fantasy. My oh my. This is the first book I have read by Aria Skylar, and I could not be more entranced by the characters she has created. Primarily told through the perspectives of Kay and Eros (Erik) with a few chapters from Aphrodite, Erik’s mother. Kay is the chairwoman that brought her mothers company back to glory after her death. Being a workaholic, her two older sisters Clio and Grace get her to agree to a month-long vacation. Not just any vacation, her addiction to work is so great she must be forced to leave so an abduction fantasy vacation was a win-win scenario. Eros, the mystery man, is her abductor and, in many ways, her true vacation. Quickly she finds that she enjoys the mystery around him but in time she hungers for more, more than fantasy things that make him a person. When asked to extend her vacation, to extend her time with Eros she says yes, only for her sister’s words to poison her mind into shattering the fantasy and the illusion of Eros. A month later all is revealed, can Kay save the pieces that were her life? What will become of Kay and Erik? Why did she hate him Erik before the mask was removed? While the author has the story based in reality, the characters are very relatable it’s the degree to which she makes them multisided. Kay is a strong ambitious woman that longs for love and to feel wanted for nothing more than who she is not what she is in her career. Erik, while having been around more than most, has never had a connection beyond the physical. Both fill the deepest desires of the other without lessening them as a person but empowering them to embrace the darker sides of themselves. I look forward to reading more of her work and seeing what comes next in this new series.

This was a cute little book. I enjoyed finding out more about the country of Israel. I did not know a lot about Israel but after reading this book I feel like I know a little bit more and it seems really interesting. Although this is book 3 in the Hidden Valley Elite series, this can be read without reading the first 2 since its the 1st for this couples relationship. I really loved everything about this, this was so very fast paced, and I read it one sitting. I loved both Damon and Sky and I truly couldn’t get enough of their relationship.
The cliffhanger at the end had me begging for more!

While I do like the book, I feel like there is something missing that makes it more intriguing to readers. Although, the character’s names are very interesting. You don’t really come across a first name of Smith but to each its own. I find it odd that only the family that the sheriff has his eyes on is the new family in town. I will have to do an update once I finish the entire book.

Notebook Mysteries: Parisian Intrigue is the sixth book in the series. This can be read as a standalone but will be best enjoyed if read as part of the series. It is 1889, and time for the Paris Exhibition. Emma and her crew have been invited to Paris, but there are some suspicious circumstances to the invite. Despite their suspicions, they take the all-expense paid trip to Paris. This is a fun historical mystery series, and this addition to the series did not disappoint. The characters have grown so much through the series and always keep me reading for more. I enjoyed this story because this was not a single mystery, but several, keeping everyone busy. Emma and her team have their own strengths and identity but work together well as a unit. I think this is part of what makes this series so enjoyable. I look forward to reading more from this series and the author soon.
Love is What it is by Marina Hanna and it was a fun and romantic book that I really enjoyed reading. Toni meets Mickey while on vacation and the sparks fly between them, and while exploring what could be, an ex comes and starts drama leaving Toni wondering what and if they can last and explore more of a future together. I really liked how the author gave us two strong characters that were fun to learn more about and at the end of the book I smiled. I was hooked and think other romance readers will feel the same. The author gave us a good mix of love, drama, romance, and vacation fun!

This is the second book in the Green Street Girls series, and I love it as much as the first! This time we follow Indigo and Gideon.
Once again, I feel the need to rave about the author’s writing style. Vivid pictures are painted of the scene and characters without being overly descriptive and the character are made to feel real. I was emotionally invested from the beginning and loved every second of it. It’s a heartwarming read, but there are some parts which are heartbreaking.
I loved Indigo, her growth as the story unfolded was brilliant and she deserves every happiness. Gideon is such a lovable character, you can’t help but love the pair and despite all obstacles, root for them start to finish.
I really enjoyed witnessing Indigo’s story and can’t wait for more in this series!

The battle of Good v. Evil continues! The Tall Dark Man is the one controlling things now. The witches fear him and bow to him. However, our Queen, Amber does not!
This story, like the ones before it, jumps from different points in time and between character points of view, often and quickly. I love that, but you really have to pay attention. There are still the vampires, wolves, witches and seers battling for the good of the world. Hawaiian myths, legends and beliefs fill the pages. It is best if you read the Blood Prophecy series, 3 books, in order to best understand and follow this story. Things are revealed in this book that I didn’t know had happened since I skipped a book.
Another good start to a new series and again looking forward to going back to read what I missed and catching up to what is next!

What a great story! So many characters, vampires, witches, demons, humans. Beings that don’t know what they are right away. The story line jumps from the past to the present and back many times. But Jones has written in such a way that the story is very easy to follow. While reading this story you can certainly feel the build up, you can feel something big is going to happen.
Since not everything can fall on one being’s shoulders, this adventure involves the shoulders of many different beings to defeat the evil trying to over take the world.
This is my first book by this author and I am looking forward to reading more from her.
This is the first of the A Green St. Girls Romance series. I loved this book, it got me emotionally invested from the first page.
There are plenty of heartbreaking parts to this story and I think that these aspects are written well – respectfully and feeling real.
I loved the characters and friendships within the story, but my favourite thing about this book was the author’s writing style. It’s clear, descriptive and flows so well. The author paints vivid images without over-describing the scenes, the character’s voices are distinct, and their thoughts and emotions feel real. While I absolutely love the story, I don’t think I’ve come across an author who’s actual writing is my favourite aspect. It’s almost as if I’m not reading it but living it through the character’s eyes.
I truly felt for Athena and her past; her experience and her development felt so real and relatable to my own experiences.
This is the first book I’ve read by the author, but I look forward to bingeing on the rest of their work!

Planting Hope is a contemporary romance that centers around the characters of Holly and Kit. Holly is a nurse who is trying to move on after witnessing the murder of a colleague. The experience has left her feeling unsettled so she is living as a free spirit, choosing to work or volunteer where she can. Kit lives his life as a bit of a recluse with his attention focused on his garden. He believes that gardening can have healing powers and can help someone heal from experiencing trauma. As a child, Kit witnessed domestic violence and now wants to help other children heal through creating a garden. He needs a nurse to help him research the project and gets introduced to Holly. With her colorful hair Kit is a bit leery of trusting her but as the two-work side by side in the garden their friendship grows and the attraction between them builds. This was a beautifully crafted story with an engaging plot and wonderful characters. Kit and Holly have both witnessed their share of horrific violence and now find themselves wanting to help children who have witnessed domestic violence. Although their pasts still haunt them, they are not afraid of doing the work involved in helping children heal from trauma. A great read full of hope, love, trauma, passion, and empathy.

An enjoyable and sweet YA romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Teenager Pyper Lewis is used to having all the answers to all the questions, as she’s busy giving out advice. She’s looking forward to having an amazing senior year and making it great for her friends. Her only concern is the prom, as unfortunately she has bad memories and so even tries to cancel it but her plan backfires. Eventually Pyper has to face the prom and decide whether to trust that Landen will not hurt her like she was once before. With the help and support of her family and friends Pyper discovers that she does not always need to have all the answers. Pyper is so likeable and relatable that I could not help but feel engaged with her. I was immersed in the storyline, which was very realistic in regards to the teenage issues and emotions raised. I liked how Pyper developed throughout the story and learnt about herself, which made her an inspirational main character for YA readers.
