This is such a fantastic book! It is the second book in the Shadow Defense Security Series. However, it definitely can be read as a standalone but note that there is some character overlap. This is a fantastic security book that features a strong alpha male and an equally strong female main character. In this book, Pavlo and Regan are featured in a Slow Burn enemies to lovers story. Both Pavlo and Regan are fantastically developed characters who take you on a roller coaster of an adventure filled with major twists and turns. Mavery Ellscott is fantastic at creating a thrilling plot that keeps you guessing and on the edge of your seat with every turn of the page. It is her crafting on the plot that definitely has me anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. I definitely recommend reading this book!
Most Christmas stories are predictable, what’s nice about this one is I got some wrong. Going in I was worried about the instant connection with America and Leo. Their chemistry felt like they’ve known each other for years. I laughed at all of her “dateline” worries. Would have been hilarious for her fear to have been something around that for the bonfire. But when we actually get to see what was on their letters my heart exploded. I do wish we would have gotten more with the situation with Leo’s brother. Especially since the book doesn’t feel like it ends on a cliffhanger. I loved all of the characters we meet, they’re all so happy but I still felt the different personalities, they weren’t flat. I really just recommend this book to anyone who loves Christmas romances or wants to be put in a Christmas mood. This definitely had me wanting to play Christmas music and pray for snow.

4.5 stars Dangerous Rhythm is the fourth explosive book in the romantic suspense The Echo Series. It is action packed and so engrossing that the story was over before I wanted it to be. The story is refreshing as the protector roles were reversed. The book is well-written with characters that are well developed, with faults, strengths and weaknesses that make them believable. CR also intertwines the characters throughout the books, so we get to check in with them. Her job is to protect the one man that gets under her skin. But can she do her job, keep him safe and not give in to his charms. He life looks picture perfect, but he unwittingly finds himself thrust into a dangerous world where murder is the norm of a day. This is a captivating tale has suspense, tension and angst, chemistry and steamy scenes, unbridled passion, danger, pain and emotions. If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you will enjoy this book. I look forward to reading more of CR’s work.

I love the name of this book. I have read a lot of AL’s books and have enjoyed them all, so I was excited to see a new book was out. I grabbed it and jumped right in, and I was not at all disappointed. I am so glad the story is told in my favourite way and that is dual POV. It is the best way to have a story told because you connect with the characters more and it reveals more about them and their thoughts. Bad at Being Good is a LGBT romance tale. This MM Brother’s Best Friend Romance tale is sexy and is bit of an emotional read. It’s a tough journey for them after one man’s death made everything fell apart. It is so easy to love these characters and feel for them when there is grief, pain, sorrow, hurt, longing, wanting, hate and love are just a few things they are going through. There is also drama, tension and redemption. I just wanted to take all the pain away from them I was so invested in them. He’s back! Will he break his promise to stay away, or will he follow his heart? If you’re a fan of sexy MM tales, then you will love this one.

This is the first book in the Hot Flash Hookups series and I loved it. I laughed so hard at so much of this book. The fact that the characters were aging and not perfect 20 something’s was awesome. Olivia and Roman’s story is wonderful. What is more fun then having their respective kids meddle in their romance. I can’t wait for the second book to come out.

This is the second book in the Fallen Hearts series. Phaedron is trying to save his brother Rowen, but he needs help. He enlists Alindra from the Kingdom of the Summer to help. He is not prepared for what is to come not only in finding Rowen but also he is not prepared for the feelings that come alive around Alindra. There are so many reasons for Phaedon and Alindra to stay apart. The story had me on the edge of my seat. This book has it all including dragons and an epic story. What more could you want?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story was heart wrenching and beautiful. There were twists and turns I never saw coming. Adam and Hope both have so many things to overcome if they are ever to find the forever they both seek but have given up on finding.

I saw this beautifully covered book and decided to dive in and I just loved this journey. The story was very well written , unique, intriguing and it made me think of some “what ifs”. This story of Andrea, whom recently passed, questions what is next….she meets Coyote and short stories of her past come to light as Coyote wants to hear. Andrea has questions of the afterlife and wants answers…but Coyote does not have answers for her. As stories are shared, the journey continues and Andrea also meets other spirits as well…what does happen after you are gone….
I highly recommend this book, it is truly a wonderful read.

This is the seventh book in the Hidden Valley Elite Series. I am completely in love with this series. I am trying not to think that this is the last duet of the series because I just don’t want this all to be over. So finally we get Shane’s story. He has been such a mystery since the beginning of this series. At last his story begins to unravel. His and Winter’s story is so compelling. There is so much to dig into and uncover. I flew through this book and am now sitting here waiting until I can read the conclusion to this story even though i just really don’t want it all to end.

From the first few sentences, I was hooked on this book. It gets you right in the feels. The characters are well-written and relatable. You can feel their struggle with grief coming through the pages. I personally don’t usually read content warnings, so I don’t know what those are specifically for this book, but if you’re sensitive to reading about the grieving process, death of a sibling, or drug/alcohol use, proceed with care. This is definitely a would-read-again book for me!

Frankie is a young woman who works as an undercover police officer in London in 2120 in a world where technology rules and everyone has enhancements implanted into their bodies, or at least they do in the north of London, however, those in the south have something similar, however, they are more rudimentary and not always of the best quality. These enhancements are now so integral to Frankie’s life and the lives of those around her that it is automatic to use them, but like everyone else, she wants more.
Frankie has just finished a mission and wants nothing more than to ger the go ahead that her application to be one of the DNA enhanced crime fighters has been approved, but unfortunately, she has to do one more mission before she can get there, but this mission is not exactly what she was hoping for, she has to go into a poverty zone and infiltrate a group of rebels. Frankie is completely unimpressed by this, but will do anything to attain her dream, so when she is prepared, she packs a suitcase and is dropped off at the lift to the poverty zone with just rudimentary clothing, a map and an address, but what she finds when she arrives is worse than she could ever imagine.
The living conditions, the flora, fauna and people have all been understated, they border on inhumane and the number of mutations and dilapidation she sees astounds her, but when she meets her housemates, she is convinced that they cannot be the threat they have been made out to be. As Frankie reports to her superiors, the more she realises that she is stuck there for the long term, however, the more time she spends investigating and figuring out her housemates, the more confused she becomes, especially when she finds out that it isn’t safe to go to ground level, but not why, so she digs and the more secrets she uncovers, the more shocks she finds, but will she ever be able to return to her former life after seeing the poverty zones for herself, or will she succumb to the environment first? This is a sci-fi adventure where nothing is as it seems, and danger surrounds the inhabitants of this changed city as secrets are uncovered, lies are told and truths are revealed in this twisted version of a possible future.

This is the first book that I have read by author Cambria Williams, as this is her debut dark fantasy novel, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book and her writing style.
The Befallen is a strong debut novel, in all honesty, I would not have guessed this to be her first book. Her writing style is so smooth and lyrical. I devoured it in one sitting. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, and definitely to those who enjoy dark fantasy. The thing I loved most about this book though is how it is a representation of disability but still being able to make such a big impact and change in the world.
The characters in The Befallen are well developed and easy to love, as well as relate to. You can tell Cambria Williams put a lot of thought into her world building as well, and it is absolutely spectacular. Even though there technically are “slow” parts where you are learning in depth about the characters, it did not feel slow. The author engages you on a deeper level and it just feels natural. The story is a wonderful mix of “info” and plot.
This is a story that will take you on a journey, that has a strong message of faith and hope. It is such a beautiful experience to see, and feel how the MC’s, Sloane and Sir Tolvar, crave to find their self-worth and place in the world. Sir Tolvar is looking for redemption and Sloane is wanting to be seen more than a “cripple”. As some who struggles with a disability, there were an insane number of parts where I just sat and cried. I felt Sloanes pain and longing as it is mine.
Sir Tolvar and Sloane set out to find a cure for the curse that has caused Sloane so much pain, and in the process Sir Tolvar also strives to become a better man. The journey is a waterfall of emotions, so get ready to be on a rollercoaster. The characters have so many obstacles they must overcome, and I held my breath at every single one. There are times where I was angry and frustrated at what they were being put through, and at other times I was jumping for joy cheering them on.
The ending is so beautiful, and I look forward to reading more from this author!

After reading the previous book in this series, I could not wait to read the next and jumped straight into the story. It picks up soon after the last one finished and it was so easy to reconnect with the characters. Each story in the series just gets better and better and I always seem to fly through the stories. This book being no exception. I love how original and refreshing this series still is to read. Even after four books it doesn’t feel like it is getting old or boring. The book is exciting to read and I had to read it all in one go to find out what would happen. This is a great book, a great series and one of my favourite authors. I would highly recommend all of their work to any fan of this genre.

Baking a Bicycle is a children’s book that centers around the character of a young boy named Caspian. When he asks his Grandpa for a bicycle for his Unbirthday he receives a box full of Baking Up Dust. Now Caspian wonders if that will work to bake a bicycle. This was cute story full of magic and fun that children of all ages will find delight in reading. A great way to teach young children how much fun baking can be. The illustrations were bright, colorful, and really brought the story to life. Another great book by this amazing author!

This book was much more emotional than I expected when I started reading it. The story heavily addresses the grief people feel when they lose a love one and if you have ever experienced that feeling this will really resonate. The author really handles.the subject well and you get the watch the characters navigate through this period in their lives. I loved the characters in this book. They had such a great connection despite everything they had to try and overcome. I was rooting for them the whole way through and couldn’t wait to see how things would turn out for them. This was a great book to read and I would recommend it to anyone.

Ghost Takes a Vacation is Book Two in the Genie and Adriana Darling Series. It is a cozy paranormal story with ghosts, humor, witty banter, adventure, murder, mystery, hauntings, and ghostly escapades. The story centers around the character of Genie who pairs up with the ghost of her deceased great-great aunt Adriana to solve a mystery. In order for Adriana to hold onto her otherworldly powers she needs to hold onto her possessions which requires a quick trip to Tuscany where they have been placed up for auction. While in Italy, Genie and Adriana stumble onto a mystery that involves arson and manslaughter. It is up to the dynamic duo to find the real culprit responsible and clear the name of the man who has been wrongfully accused of the crime. Adriana and Genie get into hi jinx along the way and mayhem ensues. I love the quirky characters and how Genie has her ghostly great-great aunt helping her solve mysteries. The storyline was unique, funny, and had me reading until the end to see what happened next. I look forward to reading more of the adventures of this quirky duo.

Doombringer is a dark fantasy book full of danger, action, adventure, magic, monsters, secrets, lies, and prophecies. The story centers around the character of Oden who has recently lost his wife and has been left to raise his young daughter on his own. His village has been ravaged by war and their future looks bleak, but Oden is determined to do whatever it takes to shelter his daughter from the doom and gloom of the world around them. He uses magic to keep his daughter’s world looking hopeful but each time he does so he slowly loses a piece of himself. When war looms again, Oden is determined to save his daughter and the world. This was beautifully written story set in a dark fantasy realm with vivid scenes that pull you into the world alongside the characters. The relationship between Oden and his daughter is magical and truly heartwarming. This story had war, loss, hope, love, perseverance, and strong family dynamics. I look forward to reading more by this talented author!

This is the second book in the Latitude series. I do definately recommend reading these books in order and if you can start from the Antipodes series as the books all follow on. This author’s work is always enjoyable to read. The author’s attention to detail means that the reader is captivated by the story and the characters. We are back in this story following Caitlin and Gio as they learn to find their way in life. Following their hearts they get married but that is the first step in them navigating their journey into adulthood. I did feel sorry for Caitlin in parts. As much as she loves Gio I felt like she has so much pressure placed on her shoulders all at once, from becoming a wife and mother to starting a Ambassadorship. Gio tries to help and support her but wanting to remain a strong independent woman his help isn’t always welcome. This puts strain on their young marriage and with the added dangerous of old enemies reappearing you are left wondering if their relationship could survive. One things for sure Caitlin will fight and stop at nothing to protect what she wants and who she loves.
This is a sci-fi adventure which has twists and turns as well as lies, betrayals and tragedy waiting just around the corner this book will certainly keep you gripped.

What a beautifully written and illustrated children’s book. This book shows young boys of Asian decent how they can be strong, courageous and proud of their cultural identity. Affirming where one comes from and the power that we hold within ourselves is important. If I was a teacher, I would have copies of books such as this on my shelf for my students to read.

I really liked this one, I’ve read the previous ones by this author and this one didn’t disappoint! It follows Rusty as he continues to share a room with Granddad who sadly has Alzheimers. Rusty is desperate to find out where Granddad found the magic brass ring he has but can’t get a straight answer out of him. Rusty does whatever he can to ride on the Christmas carousel in the shopping centre and goes on some epic adventures. Will he learn from his adventures where this mysterious magical brass ring came from? Read it and find out! Highly recommend this and anything this author writes, loved it!

This story really hits home if you have ever dealt with grief of any sort. The way that everyone in the book is reacting and dealing with their grief, allows the reader to see the various ways that grief can be dealt with. Not all of them are healthy ways but that is what really connected me with the characters because everyone grieves differently. There is a twist that happens in this book which I fell really made the story. It wasn’t expected but was so incredibly well done that I can’t imagine the book without it. The growth that the characters have individually and with each other is amazing and shows how having someone to help you through grief can be beneficial. The forbidden romance that happens is amazing it is a slow burn because of the grief that the characters are dealing with but it is there and it seems organic. This was a quick read for me because I got sucked into seeing how all the characters not just the main ones were handling things and if things would get better over time. This book has it all from relatability, raw emotions, love, steam, and growth. Over all, it is a win and probably something I will read again. Reviewed by: @bbohls

This is my first book by this author which I enjoyed reading. I enjoyed how the author pulled me into the story with their attention to details that made it realistic. This is a well written story that is full of romance and suspense. The twists and turns are like no other and had me turning pages fast. Palvo and Regan are great characters. They are strong, connectable and their attraction pops off the pages. They have great growth throughout which made the story hard to put down. This is an easy, fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. This is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. I look forward to seeing more from this author. I highly recommend this book.
This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. This is one of my favorites for sure. I enjoy this author’s writing skills that make her characters pop and make the story come to life. This book is no different. It is a well written hard to put down romance story. The characters pulled me into the story from the beginning. They are connectable, relatable and have great chemistry with each other. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout. This is a story about guilt and promises that are meant to be broken. This is a fast past story that had me turning pages fast. An easy to read story that is full of romance and a chance at happiness. I really enjoyed reading this book.. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is the second book that I have read by K.L. Smalls and I absolutely loved it. Rusty’s grandpa gave him a brass ring that allows him to on an adventure every time he is on a carousel. He had enjoyed these adventures, so he wants to give his grandpa a gift in return and Christmas is the best time for that, but with very little money Rusty isn’t sure what to get him, so he finds Santa’s Christmas Carousel at the local mall and hopefully he might come up with the best gift for his grandpa. This an amazing Christmas story and it tells a little bit about another journey that I won’t spoil. It’s a wonderful book and I am glad that I got a chance to read it.

Nick and Julia are back in this final installment of the Painted Souls trilogy. This has been an incredible series. The author has done a meticulous job of researching details and such to include in this story. His writing is engaging as you read about the cult’s continued efforts to dominate. If you like mystery and suspense, this is one series that I would recommend. I would definitely say to read it in order.
