This is absolutely a world-building-heavy fantasy book. I really appreciated the break down of the terms in the beginning of the book though! It definitely went back and looked at them to make sure I was understanding fully. We have our leading woman fae, Lannahi, who has been betrayed by someone she trusted. And now she must fight to survive. And fight she does.

This was my first book by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The cover caught my eye immediately, and once I read the summary, I knew I had to give it a go. While the beginning can feel slow to some, I think it gave an amazing background and build of the world which is incredibly important for fantasies/fae books in particular. I always love it when they include the glossary to help keep track of different characters and terms because I like to take breaks with complex books and those are a nice reminder for when I pick back up. Lannahi is a strong character but somehow her family sees her as weak. There is plenty of danger, action, suspense, and magic throughout this wonderfully complex book. I highly recommend picking it up, and I’m off to find more of this author’s magic!

I usually love reading this type of books of supernatural, but it really took me sometime to get into this book. It was very slow of me in the beginning, and I was very almost bored, but I trucked thou it. honestly, thou it did start to pick up and I really was enjoying it more and more. I really enjoyed how the book was very well written thou, it flowed very nicely. The world building o this book was like I was right there in the book, along with Lannahi and her adventure to challenge queens and the Fae worlds. Once this book got going with the life Lannahi needed to change and then challenge it was starting to be enjoyable. Lannahi was a very well thought out character and I really liked the fact that we could be along for this adventure so had to go though, this strong independent woman that doesn’t want to be held down by a man, really was a wonderful enjoyment.

Heavy emotional rollercoaster. While I have seen Theresa’s books over time while working at a library, I hadn’t previously given them a read until now. One of my new years resolutions was to read books by as many new authors as I could, and this series always looked interesting. I must say I was not prepared for the deep emotions that I would be taken for a ride with, but the book had me holding my breath from start to finish praying Julia could get a win. Julia is in modern day London but as she writes her biography, we are taken on the journey of who Julia is and how she came to this point. She is over half a century old, and a combination of things has her getting flashbacks to her past life, her human life. The only way to be rid of the flashbacks is to confront them and discover what the importance is in them. 1492, Julia was born and while her childhood was mostly wonderful considering nothing prepared her for what was to come after overhearing her father and brother speaking when she was eleven. At fifteen she was to marry Gregory Smith, a man wealthier than her own father had asked for her hand and while it was not the man, she wanted to marry her father accepted for her and that was final. All Julia ever wanted was to have the power to make her own decisions about her own life. To have control. Immediately her younger sister informs her of the uneasy feelings she gets around Gregory and the urge to flee from the room he enters, but it’s too late she has no choice but to marry him. Crystal, her sister, warns her to be careful. What follows the marriage and in the first two years is heartbreaking, not only what Julia experiences at the hands of her husband but of her own father. Will Julia find an escape? Can she have a happy moment that’s not tainted with painful consequences? The world the author builds is based off history, the times in which the story takes place are accurate which makes reading it so much more painful as some today still deal with similar situations. The characters have immense strength and fight to overcome all that they are faced with. Finding one thing to fight for to keep her going. I have found a new author and series to follow and now off to book two, Pursuit into Darkness to see what happens next for Julia.

This was an impulse read and I am beyond happy that I picked it up! It definitely took me through a range of emotions as our main character, Bella, goes through a divorce and begins finding herself again. She also finds herself in the new-age dating world with each book documenting the Mr. Guy she has found for the time being. This box set was incredibly steamy, but also surprisingly funny and had me laughing out loud multiple times. I really enjoyed that the men she met were completely different from each other because a lot of romance books find the female character stuck between two very similar guys. I had such fun reading this box set and cannot wait to continue with this series! Don’t pass this one up, it’s not like anything you’ve read before!

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Sasha Smart: Short Stories for Girls is a true gem. Inspirational, positive learning, overcoming obstacles, acceptance of others with good messages I believe this is a great book for some good discussions on topics that truly can hit home. While this book is geared more toward ages 8-12, Sasha gives great examples and senarios that even the older crowd can learn or use as a reminder.
This collection of short stories is engaging with some great illustrations in between. I love the feeling of building confidence in a young girl as she navigates different real life senarios that we all have been subjected to in one time or another.
I highly recommend this book for any girl to read. Inspiring!
Margo is at the top of her game and about to win a prestigious award until one night changes everything. When it seems she has no other options, she takes a job with a dictator of a small country. Margo ends up not knowing who to trust or where to turn. When her friends and family are in danger Margo has to do all she can to try to protect them. This book kept me wanting more and I have added this author to my must read more list.

Do you ever find yourself yelling at the literary characters you are engaging with during a great read? I was hollering “NO!” at Margo pretty much from the very beginning of this story but she just didn’t listen to me!!! Because she didn’t listen to my pleas of “NO!”, “Don’t drink that!”, “Don’t go there!”, Margo ended up in a heap of trouble. Margo is a photographer who is looking at winning a huge award that will make her even more noticeable in the world of photography. One thing leads to another and she finds herself in the castle of a psycho wanna be dictator. All of a sudden, she’s not sure who she can trust and she may have put her trust in a man who could ruin her even more than the dictator. After a daring escape, Margo still finds herself looking over her shoulder, as well as those of her loved ones.
This is a good one!! Lots of action, travel, and a little romance in this, among some major backstabbing and plans of war. Not a dull moment in this read and I had to finish it in one setting!

The Marcy Series Boxed Set contains the first three books in The Marcy Series entitled Rage; Confusion; and Agony and Ecstasy. The stories center around the main character of Marcy as she attempts to navigate the emotions she is experiencing at different times in her life. In the first book entitled Rage, Marcy is experiencing anger issues that over time become so intense they almost consume her. She is also having terrible nightmares that are affecting her sleep and keeping her awake. When she is witness to a robbery and takes down the armed robber during a fit of rage, she meets Liam who asks for her help in his mission. In Book Two, Confusion, Marcy finds herself in the middle of a love triangle with Brad and Liam. All three have their own issues to work through but Marcy’s issues are a bit more complicated and not so easy to solve. Marcy wants to move forward in her life and heal from the hurts of her past but that may be impossible. In the third book entitled, Agony and Ecstasy, Marcy endures a lot of pain and suffering that puts her strength to the test. This one is a bit of a heavier read that will surely have the reader experiencing the intense emotions alongside Marcy. This series had anger, love, drama, angst, drama, passion, action, mystery, suspense, hurt, secrets, and twists and turns that will keep you hooked until the end. I enjoyed watched the characters grow and evolve throughout the series and became heavily invested in Marcy’s story.

The Rocklyns books are wonderfully well-written, quick and easy sometimes emotional reads that are both heartwarming and heartfelt. I enjoyed the stories so much that before I knew it, I was turning the last page. I didn’t have to wait as I had them all in one boxed set so I could just jump to the next book straightaway. Set in the beautiful Napa of the East Coast where the Rocklyns have a vineyard where family is everything, but love is even better. These adorable well-developed characters drew me into each of their journeys on a sometimes-twisted path to love. From secrets, lies, danger, broken spirits, haunting scars to hot and steamy encounters, banter, sadness, laughter, hope, angst, tension and love Alicia has penned a beautiful addicting series. This is a romance bundle that has me hooked.

Portrait of Deception by Kathryn Dodson is a thriller that follows Margo McAllister. Margo is a photographer who is very close to fulfilling her dreams. When she refuses a job by a corrupt politician, everything goes downhill. Margo decides to take the job because she needs the money and discovers that this politician has a lot of secrets and lies. This was a very suspenseful and engaging story. There were plenty of twists. I enjoyed the character of Margo. She is strong, determined, and tough. She refused to back down and did everything she had to do to get her life back. This was a book that drew me in. There is a very well-told story with a character that you love to root for.

I loved the character of Bella who is feisty, strong, fearless, funny, quick witted, and determined. This book had love, loss, laughter, friendship, romance, witty banter, sexy men, and steamy passion. I look forward to reading more about Bella’s adventures in the world of dating.

This duet reminds me of a Mafia style Beauty and the Beast, and it’s amazing. I absolutely loved seeing Ava stand up for herself and show just how savage she could really be. Being a brat myself, I loved seeing their dynamic play out. Some characters have a habit of surprising us, too. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, and I’m glad I get to review it 😁

I can only imagine what it must have been like to have your world turned on its axis like the way Ava did. She’s smart, brilliant, and a strong woman for enduring the things she has.
Kingston… oh boy.. a lot can be said about that one. Possessive, obsessive, and antihero if I ever saw one. Despite the insanity he puts her through himself, the man doesn’t tolerate anyone else harming her, and that’s not something that abuse survivors typically see. He’s a force to be reckoned with.
Together… holy mackerel… the heat, the tension, the fire is intense. I can’t wait to see what comes next.

This book is an inspiring and fantastic book that I loved being able to share with my daughter. The messages and acceptance throughout these stories was incredible to see and it was a great way to have specific discussions with my daughter. The fact that the book is a collection of short stories, rather than one whole story, made it even better. It allows the target audience to focus on one aspect, digesting it and being able to explore the ideas, before moving on to the next. This book is perfectly written with the audience in mind and even I enjoyed reading through it. This is a brilliant book that I would urge everyone to try.
I had a lot of ups and downs with this book. I really got into the beginning of the story. Then the book became almost unbelievable, so I had to suspend reality a little bit, like I would do with a movie. Then the book picked up so much that I could not put it down! It was so good through the end of the book. The main character is Margo McAllister who is a world famous photographer poised on the edge of receiving the accolades she’s always dreamed of. What she did not ever imagine was her life completely tanking and her life being in danger. She can’t see any other options for herself except to take the lucrative offer from a man who gives her the creeps. However, once she’s there, she’s stuck like a fly on a spiderweb. She must find a way home and escape without putting any loved ones at risk. Will she find a way out of the danger she’s in? You’ll definitely want to read this book to find out!

I was so excited to get my hands on another book in this series and could not wait to start reading it! Even though we are nine books in, this series still feels fresh, unique and like it is getting better with each book released. As I expected, I was pulled straight into this story and it was the kind of book I had to read all in one sitting. I took me no time at all to get through it because the story was so incredible. I loved the characters in this book. I think these ones have got to be some of my favourite of the series, although it really is hard to pick between them all. I just seemed to connect with them instantly, which made the story even better. I love the feel of these books and the tone the author has achieved. This is another fantastic story in the series and I hope it continues for a long time to come!

In the lands of the fae, there are rules of engagement, in this area, they are the Rules of the Black Tower, a dangerous game of challenges and conquests where lands, titles and kingdoms can be won or lost in a single fight, or war and revenge can be taken in some cases and not in others. It is a complicated Game and Challenges lead to repercussions whether won or lost and the penalty for improper use or behaviour is deadly.
Lannahi is a young woman who is just entering the age where she can participate in the Game, she has seen it played and heard stories of the winners, losers and the consequences, but she has never played before and didn’t really want to, albeit her family has. One day, a man whom she thought she could maybe see a future with showed his true colours and made it known to her of his intentions, she knows that her life as she knows it is about to undergo a drastic change, he is wanting to use her as a pawn to gain power, but he is not the only one.
On the days leading up to one of the main Game events in a central arena, Lannahi makes a plan to fulfil her need to escape her first love, she plans to enter the game, she plans on making a Challenge and hoping she will win. One slight change to the plan is being called upon to perform in front of the gathering, it is something she neither expected or wanted, but knowing she cannot back down, she accepts the invitation and performs to her best ability, however, she is seen trying to gather herself by another fae, but whether his intentions are honourable or not, Lannahi cannot tell.
It is after this performance where it is announced that she has made a formal challenge, much to her family’s distress and confusion, it surprises all of the gathered audience, but all she knows is that she must win, or she will die, or even worse, become a slave, the exact fate she is trying to escape. Will she be able to succeed in her challenge against an interesting choice of adversary, or will she lose and face the forfeit the Game demands, not to mention what will happen after the challenge finishes, will her life still be her own, or will it belong to another? This is a fast-paced fantasy in a land of fae, games, consequences, trust, loyalty and masks, as a young woman makes a choice to change her life, as well as those around her in a land of magic, games and determination.

Yet again another wonderful read by this very talented author. This novella was so beautifully written that I couldn’t put it down and more to the point I didn’t actually want to! It was so lovely to be back with Pedro and Anne again! I just loved the connection between them, it really was so genuine and beautiful. You could almost feel the love pouring off the pages at times. I really did feel for Pedro because as much as he loves Anne, he cannot let his past demons go with how he was treated by his father. It was so painful for him that it made him not want to be a father himself. As with all of the other books in this series, the author does an amazing job of transporting us to Portugal and with all of the rich detail and descriptive language in the story you really do feel like you are there with the characters. I 100% recommend this read but would also recommend you read Pedro and Anne’s full-length story (The Taste of Light) before reading this wonderful novella.

Bella is a young woman who is finally free to live, love and make mistakes along the way to meeting Mr Right and in these short novellas, you can follow along with her.
Mr Wimp is her soon to be ex-husband, after twelve years of marriage, one day he ups and leaves with no explanation, apart from that the spark has gone, but Bella is not convinced it is just that. So, she decides to get her life back, although she didn’t realise quite how much of herself, she had lost and how different the dating game now is.
Mr Smooth is the next on the list when bar man Liam enters the picture and she can see how the men in the romance novels she likes to read can exist. Liam could be just the man to live some of them out with, he is a smooth talker with a lot of experience.
Mr Player is the next in the firing line, after getting some advice and tutelage with Liam, she decides to enter the world of internet dating and this handsome one is next. The only thing about him is that everyone else seems to think he is a player, including Liam, but surely, she can make up her own mind, so she gives him a try.
Mr Kinky appears on a girl’s weekend away in the country, the perfect getaway after her confrontation with Mr Player, she has sworn off of men, as have her girlfriends but that isn’t as easy as it looks when a god level gorgeous man just happens to match with her online and also owns the local pub promising treats galore.
Mr Heartless is a little understated and slow moving compared to the other men she has met, but he seems safe enough after all the excitement, they enjoy the same things and spending time with him is easy, but is he too good to be true?
What will Bella do with her newfound freedom and with whom in this fun filled novella collection?

I found this book well written with character development and world building continuing throughout. The humour and warmth keeps you smiling whilst the added angst of dysfunctional family and families who are true units brings an emotion to the book that others may lack.<br />After reading it I discovered that it is the third book in a series and although reading them in order may provide background on some characters this book and I’m sure the others (if they are written in a similar way to this) would be just as easy to read as a stand alone.<br />The unexpected appearance of a bride in a froo froo dress in the car as he leaves court introduces Miller to Maisy, both of them have an intriguing past, they dance around each other, and the forced proximity of allowing Maisy to move in with his family gives this story another added layer.<br /> <br/><br/> <a href=”https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/34425105-tracy”>View all my reviews</a>

I loved this! It follows Riley Cole and Damon as they struggle with their family drama and try to navigate high school. Rileys is new in town, her mum likes conning people so they move around alot, but Rileys hoping they can stay for a while. Cole and Damons parents’ marriage is a mess. How do you help when you know one is lying to the other? I love that the family drama isn’t the only theme running through this; like the teenagers going to parties, there’s flirting, sexual chemistry, and some mischief thrown in. It really leaves you wanting more and so I cannot wait to read the rest of the series! Highly recommend!!

This is a lovely story about a little girl who is missing her Grandma. Grand ma has moved across town and the little girl is missing her grand ma. She is very sad, nothing around her pleases her. Then she opens her Grand ma’s closet and finds a fascinator hat. The girl wears the hat and all her imagination comes alive. It’s a very heartwarming story, good for a bed time read.
Although, it took to get going, Song of Earth and Claws is a tale about Lannahi, a young Fae who finds that she has been betrayed and she is part of a bigger plan to do harm to her family. While she has a talent for singing, she has not been shown what real life is all about. When she issues a duel for the Kingdom of Goldfrost, she must gain the trust of those who live there. Losing means slavery or worse, her life. To trust is something she isn’t used to and she can’t trust those closest to her. Will she come to trust Nihhal? Where will Ashared and Liannahi’s relationship go?

This is books 1- 4 in The Human Mating Site. All these books are linked so you do need to read them in order to fully appreciate the journey that Bella goes on as she struggles to find herself and navigate the new world of dating.
Book 1- Mr Wimp In this part of the story we meet Bella and Joel who have been together and married for years. Even though there is no passion or spark they have carried on after all after so many years together not having a spark is normal right? They carry on like this until the day Joel throws a bomb into the relationship and tells Bella he wants to end their marriage. Bella is heartbroken and as things begin to come to light that pain and heartbreak turns to anger. When she is free she realises how much of herself she lost by being with Joel, over the years he has brought her down and made her lose sight of who she is. Is this story is called Mr Wimp and omg Joel is definately that. At points I was screaming at him to grow and pair and tell the truth but his refusal to do that only showed Bella even more how much of a favour he was doing her by ending things. I loved Bella’s character and her growth in this first story was unreal and inspiring as with the help of her friends she slowly starts to find herself again. I can’t wait to read about the next stages in Bella’s life.
Book 2- Mr Smooth This the second book and we are back with Bella as she tries to put her life back together. Each book focuses on a different guy and this one focuses on Liam. Liam and Bellas connection is hot and steamy. Liam has a reputation as a man whore and has made his intentions with Bella clear. He doesn’t date or do relationships this is purely friends with benefits. The way he is with Bella and the way he rebuilds her confidence in her herself is amazing to watch. But then he goes cold on her. Is that it? Is that the end of Bella and Liam? I’m not so sure I feel there is more between them under the surface.
Book 3- Mr Player This was the 3rd man that Bella encountered and even though he seemed good on paper and said all the right things her friends and Liam tried to warn her off him. Liam told her he was a player but why would that matter she was only after some fun. But what happens when this so called player turns out to be even worse in the sack than her ex husband?
Book 4- Mr Kinky This is the next man who appears in Bella’s life and opens her world to a whole new experience and teaches her more about her needs and body that she ever knew possible.
These book are quick read and I have loved them all. So far I am loving Liam the best and I’m praying for a HEA for him and Bella. I just need to read the rest of the stories to see if I get my wish. I can’t wait.

Marcy is a successful business owner who seems to have it all – until she starts having nightmares and develops uncharacteristic anger issues. With her sudden turn in behavior, her closest friends and boyfriend become concerned, though Marcy brushes off her own reactions to others and certain situations. It’s not until she is confronted with her own actions and the threatened loss of her boyfriend, Brad, that Marcy realizes she has a problem and needs help. However, Marcy is soon confronted by another victim of rage, Liam, and the course of her recovery and life seems to become shaky. This was an interesting series to read, I enjoyed the love triangle and psychological tidbits thrown in that kept me engaged and reading from page one to the last.

This is a box set of four enjoyable novellas following Bella’s dating journey. Avid steamy romance reader Bella is looking for Mr Right, or at least Mr Right Now. Bella realises how much of herself she lost whilst in her relationship with Mr Wimp, and the once sunny, happy Bella wants her confidence back. Bella is also keen to act out some of the spicy scenes she has read about! This is a fun, funny, engaging set of novellas with an extremely likeable and relatable main character in Bella. Each novella is like a different Rom-Com, and we meet a variety of different men, grumpy ones, sexy ones, alpha men, and witty men. Full of romance, humour and emotion I ‘binge read’ this boxset and look forward to the rest of the series, and finding out if Bella eventually finds her Mr Right!

This intriguing and engaging dark romantic suspense story had me captivated throughout. I loved the fact that as all three books are in this set I could ‘binge read’ the whole series! In Rage, we are introduced to Marcy, Brad, and Liam. Marcy has anger issues, and we follow her journey in finding out why. In Confusion, Marcy is learning how to navigate her conflicted emotions. We also get to learn more about her and her relationships with both Brad and Liam. Agony and Ecstasy sees decisions being made whilst emotions run deep. The twists and turns continue in this third story, and there are lots more surprises for both Marcy, and us, the reader! It took me a few chapters to really get into the storyline and get to know the characters, but having done so I was then fully immersed in the story. Overall this was a real page turner of a read, and I recommend ‘binge reading’ the series, like I did!

I was hooked from start to finish with this fast paced and action-packed story. Margo, a photographer on the brink of fame is in Italy competing for a prestigious award. She is approached by a corrupt politician who wants her to devise a clever portrait to improve his reputation, but despite the large sum of money offered she refuses. Margo then wakes up in her hotel room, with no memory, having been slipped a blackout drug. Somehow, she has amassed $40,000 worth of damages to her hotel room and is then expelled from the contest. Left with no choice Margo is forced to go to the despot’s personal estate and ask for his help. Her plan is to earn enough money to cover her debts and then get back to her life. However, whilst at his remote castle in the mountains she discovers many of his secrets and lies, but increasingly fears the oligarch’s creepy propositions and demands will put her in further danger. I was gripped by this gritty thriller, and I literally could not put the book down. The plot twists and turns kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story. The descriptive narrative brought the setting vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. I loved Margo as the main character, likeable and relatable as well as being a tough, independent women.
