Nessie and the Living Stone was a really cute read. I read it to my girls before bed time and they really enjoyed it! My oldest is having a hard time with sharing and being selfish and was really able to spot that in Craig since we’ve been working with her on it. All three girls were able to see difference in attitudes between Craig and Linda in how nice he was towards her at the end. A fun story and good way for kiddos to learn these lessons!

I am a die hard animal lover, I typically choose them over humans half the time. Porter & Midge is an amazing children’s book to help teach children about the love of a dog and the nurturing nature they deserve. The illustrations throughout the book were realistic and the ideas as well as the suggesting provided helped make this book relatable to most. The rhyming is definitely a catchy way to keep it kid-like and interactive, and definitely made me feel like I was reading a Dr. Suess book again! Overall, I highly recommend Porter & Midge as it is a delightful, relatable, endearing read.

Hope For A New World (Gaia’s Voice Series) by Renee W Peek. This is a sci -fi, fantasy novel which is not my favorite genre but I really enjoyed this book. It tackles the topic of the environment and the place we all play in the destruction of it. Its the story of Maddison Bear’s Heart who has just become a environmental lawyer and its at the perfect time. The Hopi people believe the Earth is ending as we know it and they need Maddison to speak to Gaia, Mother Earth. They find out there is another plant willing to take them but they have to leave some behind. Along with selfish wants of others the people on the spaceship are in danger. Just like in the real world there are snakes that will take you down along the way, the same is said for this spaceship. Will Maddison be able to help them get the message they need to Gaia and will Gaia take heed to save the place they love. This is a book you need to pay attention to because there are a lot of moving parts and if you don’t pay attention you might get lost but invest in it because it is such a great story!

My kiddos and I absolutely love this author, and I never hesitate to pick their books up! This was a wonderful chapter book about Nessie, the Loch Ness monster. One of our characters, Craig, is determined to catch Nessie while his little mischievous sister Linda is throwing his plans off at each turn. Will Craig eventually get his wish, or will he find something that changes his mind? I feel like this author did a great job of captivating readers! This is the first chapter book I’ve picked up by them, but we still enjoyed it just as much as their picture books. Both of my kids, ages 8 and 12, really liked reading this as they love all animals. It sparked a nice conversation between us about nature and wildlife. I highly recommend sharing this with the younger ones in your life!

After the demise of her 12 year marriage, Bella takes a new approach at her life with a fresh clean slate and being motivated by her steamy novel reads, moves onward with her own journey in search of Mr. Right. Each novella is separated into different sections focusing on different parts of Bella’s story as she gets a divorce. Bella is in hers 30, flirty and thriving! Such a great series for those who love quick romantic stories with some great humor and characters. It is recommended to read in order and one after the other so you can find out what happens next!

3 stars There is a *content warning*. I love anything paranormal, and I have read several of TK’s books and enjoyed them, so it was a no brainer when I saw this book was out. Shifter Shorts is collection of 6 short stories full of sexy shifters and their fated mates but the road to love is never straight forward. The stories are so short that some feel like they are over before they begin. This book may not be for everyone or should I say some of the stories may not be for everyone. What I like about T.K. Lawyer’s stories are that they are a little different and this is full of that. There are fighting couples, some wimpy and some undecided heroines that I wanted to shake, some had characters that I liked and others I didn’t, some that I wanted a bit more erotic and some a bit more love, some flow better than others and some don’t, some are dark and others darker, and all had danger of some kind. It is TK’s fresh take on characters that are sexy and stubborn shifter Alphas, but not your typical shifter types, there are gargoyles, hellhounds, cats, sharks and more that would do anything for the love of a good woman. They are whimsical short shot tales as I like to call them or bite sized tales that were intriguing enough to keep me reading. I like reading something a little different and that’s what these tales are. All in all, you should give this collection a go as you may be missing out on some good stories. Step out of your comfort zone and give it a try.
4.5 stars Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns is a fun YA fantasy romance series. Wolf is an enemies to lover’s tale and the first book in that series. RC Reigh is a new author to me and one that I will continue to read her work. 7 Sovereigns, 7 couples and each get their own stories. It is set in the medieval enchanted magical Academy, Bastion where mayhem runs rife, and rivals come together to learn but can they be trusted. It’s not a place that is all fun and games. This unique and magical world that RC has created has something for everyone, fated mates, werewolves and dragon shifters, Fae, Princesses, Witches, Necromancers, villains, magic, competitions, quests, and arranged marriages. It is vividly rich in detail making it so easy to imagine this unique world that RC has created. The story is told in multiple POV which I love because we get to learn so much more about the characters. It’s my favourite way to have a story told. The storyline is well written and is as interesting as it is intriguing just as the characters are. Join Dane the strong alpha wolf shifter and Amelia a headstrong princess who navigate their way through their rocky arranged courting and hopefully find all they never knew they truly wanted. There are several twisty plots along with treason, secrets, lies, angst, tension, suspense, romance, violence and danger, that keep you glued to the pages as we follow along on their exciting journey. It’s not just YA’s that will enjoy this book but anyone who loves a good fantasy tale. I can’t wait to read more of the seven kingdoms. Bring on the next book, Dragons.

5 stars Human Mating Site Box Set 1 is 4 fab Rom Com’s altogether. They are the first 4 Novellas in a 13-part novella series the Human Mating Site. They are extremely quick reads packed full of sexy fun. It is a great series but with only a few pages in each book I flew through them and read them in one sitting. I was sad to see them end because I was enjoying them so much and I want more. They need to be longer. Mr. Wimp is the first book in the box set. Who doesn’t love a good story where the MC loves to read and loves her hot and steamy books and wants to play out her fantasies? It is the story of Bella as she navigates the online dating world once again as her cheating, low life husband Mr. Wimp blames her for their woes when it is all his fault. Revenge is sweet. Throw in some amazing and loving friends, some hand holding, dancing, and lots of wine, flirting, some great and liberating sex, some alpha hot and sexy men and some witty banter that will have you laughing out loud then you have yourself a super spicy tale. I am sure there are lots of women out there that can relate to this story.
Bella’s search for Mr. Right continues in Mr. Smooth the second book in the Human Mating site series. The anti is upped along with the spice. I just wish there was a little bit more into the sex scenes. Online dating has never been so fun. It is a quick, fun and sexy read. Liam is one man to show you what you have been missing out on. Have a few fantasies, he’s your man. He knows how to burn up the sheets and Bella is just the woman to let him, but he wants her to see just how beautiful and desired she is first. Insert sigh……….. I mean what a man right, even if he is a player. Things may just get a little messy when there are two men involved. Damn cliff hangers….
Mr. Player is the third instalment in the Human Mating Site novella series and the last book in this box set. I love and am addicted to this series! but I wish that the stories where longer than just sound bites. Ok they are a bit long but aaaarghhhhhhh. Sadly, Bella is moving on from Liam. Jack may be dubbed Mr Player, but he is all about himself in the bedroom. He seems to be good at saying the right things but when they get down to business, he doesn’t look so good on paper. When Bella and her girls decide on a holiday, she runs into someone that may be too good to be true. Let the fun continue. But not before another cliff hanger.
Bring on Mr. Kinky! “What a man, what a man, what a mighty fine man.” The steam and spice hot up as Jensen shows Bella there is more to pleasure if it is done in a safe setting. When she gets a taste of BDSM she learns a bit more about herself. The break she had with her friends, some alcohol and a few romps with Mr Kinky is just what she needed. This is probably my favourite book so far in the series. Gaahhhhh! Cliffhangers! Anywho who is behind the door? As I said before there are 13 novellas all together in the Human Mating Site series and I can’t wait to get stuck into them all.

This is a cute book for elementary age kids. The art work is beautiful, and the story is definitely creative. Craig and Linda are on vacation with their parents to Loch Ness. While their parents are focused on work and business, Craig and Linda are focused on finding Nessie. The children believe that they see her following an earthquake, and they want to find her again. The magic woven throughout the story by Wickstrom, as only she can do, makes this a read that is great for children, but is also fun for the adults reading along with them.

4.5 stars Giovanna has constantly surprised me with her historical romance series The Winemakers. The Scent of Snow can be read as a standalone, but you really should read the other books before it. This lovely 1870’s Victorian story The Scent of Snow is set at a the most magical time of year, Christmas in Portugal. As with the other books in the series this book is steeped in history, traditions and cultures and the love of winemaking. Giovanna’s writing is passionate and rich in historical detail, descriptions, and world building, that captures your heart. It is told in dual POV as we learn more about who they are.
Pedro and Anne’s story continues as characters from previous books all come together to celebrate Christmas. It is fun and magical full of hope, dreams, wants, needs, drama, compassion and passion, tenderness, love, lots of emotions, sugar and spice, chemistry and romance. But what Anne wants Pedro is not sure he can give her. So where does that leave them you ask. Well pick up the book and have a read of this beautifully written story.

This is the first set of books following Bella’s life after her husband decides he doesn’t want to be with her anymore. Personally Mr Smooth and Mr Kinky were my favorites. Bella was stuck in a marriage for so many years and now she’s free to rest the waters and see what’s out there. Her mind of blown by the types of guys around and the ones who are willing to worship her body. I love how she gets to go out there and experience all life has to offer her as a newly single woman. She’s not looking for anything long term just a few casual hookups. I almost hope at the end she ends up with Mr Smooth because he is infact Smooth haha

Craig and Linda are brother and sister, and they are on a family holiday to Loch Ness, far away from their bustling home city of Birmingham, but the one thing they haven’t yet done is see the Loch Ness Monster, or Nessie for short and they are going home in a couple of days.
So far, they have gone down to the lakeside, but they haven’t seen anything and just get shouted at by the coast guard instead, not to mention that their parents have the owner of where they are staying watching their every move, until one day that changes, and the two children find Nessie!
The only thing is that Craig feels like Linda is slowing him down, but she won’t let him go on this adventure by himself, especially when they meet a mermaid who leads them into a Viking pirate trap, however, they manage to escape and find Nessie’s Grotto, but this is where Craig finds out that he must make a decision, save Nessie’s Grotto and possibly risk his own life in the process, or save himself and let the Loch Ness Monster become just another myth, but what will he choose?
This is a whirlwind adventure beneath the waters where myth and reality combine to create an unexplored land, all while teaching some good moral lessons all at the same time, a book well worth reading for all ages.

This is a fast paced read. It draws you in and keeps you interested. There was great character building. The main character was a strong woman who kept trying to get over the fact that she was screwed over. Things just keep on going wrong. Her fight is one to inspire to. This was a great sci-fi read.

This is a Christmas novella in The Winemakers Series. I have loved all the books in this series and this one was just as magical. This story is set at Christmas time and the authors descriptions of the surroundings really bring the Christmas feeling to life. This is a sweet romance, but there are also challenges for the couple. Pedro has a tough time as he has to deal with his past and past demons the way he is dealing with it is by pushing people away and not allowing them to see him struggling including Anne. Anne is also dealing with her own issues. Anne wishes for 2 things this Christmas. For snow and for a baby. But as it looks like her wishes won’t be granted she has to deal with her feelings around the issue as well as sensing something is wrong with Pedro. Can this couple work through their troubles together and become stronger for it or will Pedro’s distance and Anne’s unfulfilled wishes push them further apart.
These historical romances are so beautifully written and I have followed this couple from the beginning and seeing their growth has made them feel like family. If you like historical romances then I definately recommend these books.

Nessie and the Living Stone is Book One in the Nessie’s Grotto Series. It is a children’s chapter storybook with beautiful illustrations that really bring the story to life. The story centers around the character of a ten-year-old boy named Craig and his little sister Linda who are on holidays at Loch Ness. Craig wants to find Nessie and capture her. He gets his chance when he discovers a glowing blue stone that seems to have magical powers that allow him and his sister to breathe underwater. Nessie takes Craig and Linda to her secret grotto where they discover a mermaid, gold coins, pirates, and magical flowers. When Nessie’s Grotto is at risk of being invaded by humans, and Nessie is at risk of being captured, Craig must make an important decision. Through his adventure Craig learns valuable lessons about love, the importance of family, friendship, loyalty, and selflessness. My favorite line from the book sums it up best, “It’s what we give, not what we take, that makes us heroes or monsters.” An engaging read that will captivate readers of all ages. Looking forward to reading book two in this series!

This book is a well written and engaging novella, combining the characters from the author’s Winemaker series. It was great to see all the characters I had read about previously come together, and to focus again on the main two. I would definitely reading the other books in the series first however, this book can easily be enjoyed without having done so. I thought this book was a great addition to the series. Although a novella, it seemed to pack just as much in as any of the other books and I found myself flying through the story. I easily reconnected with the characters and was happy to let the story take me on a journey. This is a great book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This is a great fantasy story that really builds the momentum the more it goes on. It is quite a slow, and a little bit of a confusing, start as it launches straight into the games without much of an explanation. However, the more the story goes on the more you start to pick up the information you need. I loved the main character in this book. The strength she possessed was obvious and it, for me, it really carried the whole story. I could have read so much more about her. The premise of the story was really good as well. I soon found myself immersed in what was going on and I wanted to see how things would play out. This really is a great story and one that I would recommend.

This is an interesting mix of stories, all focusing on different characters. I found myself able to read through them quite quickly and some were definitely more engaging than others. I think each of these stories has the basis of something great, but would have benefited from being full length novels rather than short stories. I thought the authors writing style was great to read. The flow of each book felt natural and they were obviously very well developed. The stories have caught my interest enough that I would want to explore other work by this author. Overall, these are good stories and I found them to be enjoyable.
I was drawn into this story and the characters from the moment I started reading this book. There is such a diverse mix of characters and I found myself becoming invested in the story of more than one of them. They all seem to be tied together and I couldn’t wait to see how the author would have things play out. The story itself is a great mix of fantasy and romance. The balance between the two genres is perfect and has something to capture most peoples attention. This is the first book that I have read by this author but, if this is any indication as to their overall writing style, it will definitely not be the last. The book was well written, intriguing and entertaining from start to finish. This was a fantastic book and I cannot wait for the next one.

Having read the first book in this series, I knew I had to pick up the box set containing the first three novels. I love the whole premise of this book – Mr Right Now. It think the whole idea is fun and inspiring. I did worry that I would find myself connecting with the men of each individual book too much and struggle to then connect with the next, but that is not something I found to be an issue. Each of them are so different from each other that I engaged with their characters no problem. Each book is quite short as they are part of a 13 book novella but none of them felt like they were too short or rushed. I could have easily kept reading and after finishing one, I could not wait to pick up the next. This series as a whole is shaping up, already, to be one of my favourites of the year and I am very much looking forward to the next book.

This is the sixth book in the Tom Grant series, and while it can be a standalone, I highly recommend reading them in order as it helps with character development and backstory. As with the other books in this series, it is full of plot twists, turns, and danger. This time around, Tom is trying to enjoy his retirement after a life of running, hiding, and overall drama that the life of an agent entails. He simply just wants to live in peace and leave his past behind him with Isabella. Poor, poor Tom…life is never that simple. When 2 women from a previous case show up (Melody and Annika), he immediately wants to turn them away, he is done with that part of his life. Isabella convinces him to talk to them, one last favor. This decision throws Tom right back into the life he so desperately is trying to escape, and now he is dead center in the middle of a human trafficking ring and everyone is in danger. Can Tom escape this time, with everyone safe, or will his career finally catch up to him?

This is the third book in the Tom Grant series and I really liked the continuous action with twists and turns all the way through. This is my first book by this author and was able to read it as a standalone, even though it is the third book, but I will be going back to read the others to see if there is any further character development or backstory to enhance this read. There were a couple instances where I was lost or confused on details, so that is why I want to go back and read the others (plus it is a really good story!). In this book, Isabella’s father has passed away and she plans to take his body back to her homeland of Belarus, a country bordered by Russia and Ukraine. This alone is dangerous since Isabella has a bounty for her capture, and she is not sure who put the bounty on her or why. When circumstances brings a childhood friend back into her life, things are not as they seem, and he is not the same boy she remembers. Threats against Tom makes her delve back into the life she had thought she left behind, and now she has to find her escape in a dangerous world where even her friends may not be trusted. What a beautiful story with tragic undertones. The tone of the story was really fairly easy to relate to. Anne wanted to start a family. Pedro didn’t want one. Reading about their struggle and dealing with family drama made this a book that I couldn’t put down.Beautiful story with wonderfully written characters.

This book was so good to start this series! I was completely engaged while reading it! With every chapter I was excited to keep reading. I love that there is clear depth to each character but the author does a great job at keeping your attention, and keeping everything connected between all of the very complex characters. I literally didn’t want to put the book down! I love when I read fantasy books but you can still really relate to their issues, even though the book is created in some far away place. I was so full of empathy for the main character from the very start of the book. I kept being excited to see what would happen next. She’s such a strong woman naturally, so it was empowering to read such a story about a string woman learning how to face her circumstances head on. I highly recommend this one!

I am pretty picky when it comes to Science Fiction. It was never my cup of tea growing up and only recently have found a few books or series that actually grabbed me and didn’t let go. I am now adding this book to that list. For me, there is something so intriguing about a dystopian, end-of-the-world epic that makes the reader question the future of the planet. I can’t say enough about the descriptive writing and vibrant characters this author created. This is the first book I’ve read from this author, and I have to say that I’m excited it’s the first in a series. The story takes place over one hundred years into the future and the more you read, the more invested you become and more questions you ask yourself. The story is led by strong female characters, which I always appreciate, and the message it delivers is a stark, eye-opening possibility. You will definitely want to continue following the journey of Maddison Bear’s Heart into the next books.

What an entertaining box set! Bella is going through a nasty divorce. This box set tales is through her journey to find herself again. The stories are funny, spicy, and vulnerable. Bella is going through the same struggles that many divorced women find themselves dealing with internally. Am I good enough? Who will want me? Etc… I enjoyed each book because minus the spicy part, I found her quite relatable as a divorced woman. The stories are really good. I loved the characters. Having it in a boxset is great because its all in one spot on your reader. Go ahead, you know you want to get it.
