This book gives you a look into the interesting world of BDSM. It also contains DDMG play, which personally I could take it or leave it. The chemistry between Cutter and Emily was off the charts, there is no doubt about that. Cutter is a Daddy Dom, while Emily is a middle. If you like dom/sub type books them I recommend giving this book a try.

Ended too soon, I need more. I absolutely love C.A. King’s work. Having read several of her books so far, I always find my way back to her. Selene is a rock bottom gambling addict that goes way to hard on everything she does. Going above and beyond every job she gets but seems to keep finding herself hearing “Your Fired” too soon. A last-ditch prayer if you will she feels she’s finally found her dream job. A place to live? Check. Gets paid? Check. Tropical island? Check. She takes the chance but quickly questions why anyone would want to leave the island before dark. Questions why the mask rule at night and curious about what the truth is behind the “Curse” of the island. Will breaking the rules be in her favor this time? Can she keep a job past the first week? What is the curse? Everything about this book drew me in and kept me glued to the pages. It was the edge of your seat mystery and some steam that kept you wanting to see what would happen next. Has you asking questions about what the truth is. Just when you finally get some answers and understanding it’s over. Honestly amazing but too short. Praying the amazing, talented author uses this as an intro to a new little series because honestly, I need more of Selene and the Six owners of Forbidden Island. Also, the history of the island was amazingly interesting, the depth of the details and how everything fits together perfectly. Chef’s kiss. Curiosity killed the cat. Satisfaction brought him back.

This is an adorable story book that helps teach kids about environmental hazards. I love how this entire book is all in rhyme. Such important lessons to be learned to help preserve our planet. Beautifully written and illustrated from front to back. I highly recommend this book.

Delayed Redemption is the third instalment and great addition to the DAG Team Series by Kel O’Conner. The books can all be read as standalones, but I encourage you to start with the first book and work your way through as the books.
This romantic suspense is exciting and has plenty of drama, danger, action, adventure, and of course just the right amount of steam as the DAG team once again pull together to protect their own.
Mateo has one more assignment and then he is free, but things just may take a deadly turn. Will he risk it all for someone from his past? Do they finally find the mole?
Janey has suffered more than most, but she finds herself hoping for the best but thinking the worst when she is confronted with someone from her past when she is kidnapped.
Delayed Redemption is well plotted and is as thoroughly engrossing as it is engaging. Kel’s narrative, world building, and character building is exciting and makes it hard to leave because you want to know what is coming. The characters are complex, have depth and feel realistic.

This is the first book I have read from this author. The book is a story about a woman’s journey to faith after her cat went missing. Breathtakingly beautiful illustrations were printed throughout the book. It may be a short book but it has a big message. I recommend reading this book.

House Valdis Origins: Xenobia by Naomi Valkyrie- 4 out of 5 stars
This was my first book by this author and I have got to say, I am loving the work. This quick little morsel was fantastic! It gave you just enough of the storyline to really make you crave the book. With how short this book is I was honestly not expecting to get much from it. I am so glad that the author proved me wrong. I highly recommend this quick read!
In this super short read (it might have taken me 15 minutes), we meet Xenobia and Urd. Xenobia is blue skinned with dark hair and Urd is whiter than white with light colored hair. They are treated like cattle in the Slavemaster’s house. They are not respected as women at all. When Urd is mistreated, Xenobia steps in to save her but at what cost?
This is an interesting and very short read. I’m not sure I’ll venture into the whole series but I am a bit intrigued. I have a lot of unanswered questions but overall, thought this was an enjoyable read.
This is the second book in this series and the author did not disappoint with continuing the story and seeing how the four continue to navigate their journey. The author does such a wonderful job of describing the characters and the vivid descriptions of their journey; you really do feel like you are right there with them. This continues to be a well written tale of Leora, Aurora, Leopold and Roland trying to figure out their next steps while battling injuries, relationships and the complexities of the realm. The author creates such a multi-layered story that you can’t help but want to see how it ends. I can’t wait for the next book in the series so I can see what happens next!

I always enjoy getting to read this author. She does a great job of creating a well written story that has defined characters and a storyline that keeps you reading until the last page. This is a shorter story, but the author does a great job of packing in the emotions, the twists and suspense. We get to see Xenobia’s start, which gives a more of her backstory and her relationship with Urd. You absolutely feel an intense bond for the characters and want to see them succeed. It definitely made me want to re-read the next book in the series and I cant wait to see how things will turn out in the series.
Kingdom of 7 Sovereigns: Wolf is the first book in the series and I really enjoyed it! I hadn’t read anything by this author before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Multiple POVs from a very diverse cast- ranging from dragons to werewolves to humans. This story focuses on a newly built school for the kingdom that also houses the young royals. When they’re recently thrown together, of course there’s some chaos involved. Add in a witch with an unknown ulterior motive, spells, fated mates and scorned love with some teenage hormones and you get a very intriguing read! I had a hard time putting it down and honestly can’t wait for the next one !

Cray Saves the Day is a fun and cute story about caring for the animals and environment. It is the second book in The Adventures of Cray series for children. In this book, we go along with Cray as he observes humans having a fun day at the beach. To Cray’s dismay, the humans leave the beach a mess. Cray and his friends get together and with the help of Mer May, they clean the beach. The book’s cute rhymes and beautiful illustrations help teach children about keeping the earth clean and caring for and respecting the animals and environment. This is such an important lesson that is done in a fun way. This is a great book to add to your child’s collection.

Elusive Surrender is broken up into 2 books: Elusive & Tenacious. In Elusive, it is the story of Sheldon and Alexis. Sheldon is part of a security team (as in the first sets of duets) who accidentally runs into Alexis at a coffee shop and has to save her from an overbearing man. Sheldon has an instant attraction to her and luckily for him, circumstances lead him back to seeing her again. Alexis is a hairdresser who has an abusive past, but also struggling to seek the courage to have the relationship she wants. Alexis too is instantly attracted to Sheldon, but their relationship has to start off business because that “overbearing man” is trying to hurt and kidnap Alexis after she dismissed him. Luckily, Sheldon is in the position to safeguard her while they try to figure out who this guy is and what he wants with his future with her. This is a fast-paced story of a dominant (Sheldon) and a submissive (Alexis) trying to find their way in this entanglement. I enjoyed the story and both of these characters. She was feisty, brave, smart, and driven. He was also amazing in his protective, sweet, gentle, but dominant ways with her. In the second book, Tenacious, this is the story of Alexis’ best friend, Allie and another member of the security team, Nick. Allie is a nurse at a local hospital who is entangled in this mess too since her and Alexis live together. However, what she didn’t realize is that Nick has been keeping tabs on her safety even when he was away. He has shown interest in her since the first time they met, but she does not want a relationship due to her past. However, when Nick takes over her detail, she starts to feel a connection to him. One night she spills a lot of info after drinking to Nick, and he sees this as his chance for an in. He comes to find out she is into the same type of “playing” as he is and they come to an agreement. They will forgo a relationship and only have a physical one at the club. However, because this “overbearing man” has so many friends they still are dealing with her and Alexis’ safety. When Allie’s life is in jeopardy, along with her friends, and many other women, she starts to have a change of heart. She starts to see Nick for the amazing man he is and things start to change. Again, this was a pretty good book, fast-paced and to the point. Allie can be a little annoying at times with her determination but ends up seeing her ways in the end. Nick, on the other hand, is a great character. He is determined, protective, patient, and good-hearted character.

Savage Truth is book 2 of this bully romance. The first book ends with Cole and Riley finding out that their parents are in love and getting married. Both were not happy about this due to the hate/love relationship they were harboring. Throughout a lot of the book, it is this back-and-forth of them wanting each other but hating each other. Cole tries making Riley’s life a living hell, so Riley decides to play him in his own game. However, this back and forth, ends with Cole being obsessed and possessive of Riley. As the story continues, the secrets of both families start to come to the surface, with each other finding solace in the other’s pain. Things become extremely apparent when Riley is faced with her past, her father. A father that wants her and her mother dead. Cole is now on the end of making sure nothing ever happens to her. The first book in the series was so enjoyable I quickly read this one. I am a sucker for a bully romance and this was a good one. Both characters had great banter, chemistry, and character traits. Cole, while a bully, was also quite smitten with her and you could see him in the way he approached much of the situation. Riley, is a strong character with determination, but also a little bit naive. I also like the way the book ended. I feel when you are dealing with a “step-sibling” romance there is a lot of negativity from the family, etc, but things seemed pretty smooth and positive in how things transpired. I liked this book and the author’s writing enough to want to read the next set of duets.

This story was pretty fast paced. I liked the element of a mystery that developed and gave answers fairly fast. The main character had flaws that were acknowledged and talked about rather than being ignored. I respect the writer more for adding something many people face in real life while adding fantasy too.

Two years after the Count of Almoster Pedro Duan and Anne Maxwell married, it is Christmas time and they are expecting the family to visit, however, it isn’t what she wants, she would rather have snow like there was back in England. Things are not all rosy within their marriage though, she wants something that Pedro does not, and it is causing a dissonance between them, it is the desire for a family of her own, but thanks to Pedro’s past, it is something which terrifies him.
However, one extremely cold winters day, one of the family members goes missing, a young boy and so a search is conducted by the menfolk, while the women try and keep their emotions in check. As all but Pedro return, Anne holds out hope that he will find the young lad unscathed and that both of them will return, so she sets the group to praying for them.
Will Pedro be able to find the missing boy and return safely and how will he combat his own demons who come to the fore while he tries? This is a short historical novella which mixes myth and reality to create a story of love, acceptance and a whole heap of emotional turmoil as you see the true meaning of love and the scent of snow.

In Portugal, vineyards spread as far as the eye can see, but recently, they have been decimated and only the strongest have survived and just like those vines, so has Pedro Duan. This man who served in the military and had his whole life ahead of him has now become a recluse ever since he lost his love to another man, all he searches for now is port and other vices. Anne Maxwell is a young woman who has put her life on hold for her family, she takes on the role with happiness, despite her not having the chance to be a socialite, but still enjoying the chance to live on a beautiful vineyard and learn more about this generous culture surrounding her.
One day, she decides to take over the role of her sister-in-law and travel to the nearby vineyards to pass on knowledge which could save them, however, the first place she comes across is not what she expected and nether is the man within it. As soon as Anne enters the room he is in, he sees her as an angel exploring her dark surrounding, someone too pure for what he requested and far too bright a light for him to dim with his shadows, however, fate intervenes and a choice must be made between past and present, revenge or protection, fight or flight and Pedro knows which one he prefers, however, Anne is too vulnerable to be left to this fate and so he escapes with her.
Although, it is not a smooth escape and injuries are sustained, they find safety, however, it is not where Pedro expects it and so when he finds that his angel is not whom he thought, he takes her to his own safe haven. The only thing is that he is followed and accused of a treasonous act, they both know that he is innocent, however, he has no proof, so they set off running again, fugitives, but alive. Anne cannot understand the mercurial moods of her saviour; however, his shadows draw her too him and her light draws Pedro to her, neither can deny what they feel, but they try their hardest to resist it.
As danger creeps closer and the chase for validation of his innocence continues, the two seem to gravitate towards each other and it becomes harder to resist the other, until truths are revealed which could change everything, but will Anne be able to accept that fairytales aren’t as clean cut as she thought, and will Pedro accept that his darkness needs her light? This is yet another historical romance where passion and deception vie for supremacy while, darkness and light also fight for the win all while danger creeps closer and emotions run high across the beautiful vista of Portugal.

Eve finds herself enthralled in another mystery when a childhood friend disappears. With limited clues, Eve finds herself grasping any lead she can find. The narrator kept my attention while switching between different characters. The story was interesting and full of well done character development. This was fast paced book with several mysteries packed into one.

This was a great read for my little and I. I love that it rhymed (keeps the kiddo interested) and it had a great teachable lesson, to always be kind or “karma” finds a way to you. All of Cray’s friends were tired of being pinched, but when Cray loses his “pinching” claw, they still showed him kindness and true friendship. The characters are cute and illustrations are great. Will definitely read more from this story line and author.

I read A New Day for Cray with my seven year old daughter and she absolutely loved it. I thought that Cray was adorable and loved the bright illustrations. I am a fan of reading books that rhyme as they often roll right off the tongue. A New Day for Cray was a short, fun way to teach a lesson about kindness.

This book was incredible, I absolutely love this author and everything that I have read of theirs so far. This book is supernatural fantasy spun with a while lot of myths, intrigue, suspense, and a little bit of oh Lala. Selene gets his amazing job on this island where most people don’t stay, so why and what could be the reason. this book was a short quick read, but it is absolutely worth it. you wouldn’t be able to put it down you’ll be hooked from the beginning and read till the end. This book is well worth the read.

Another wonderful book by Sandra Young. The second book in the saga of characters from Divine Vintage (Book 1), but involving main character Marcy. Again, I really enjoyed this book. The connection between Marcy and Mike was interesting and I enjoyed the layers that built throughout the story. I also loved the costuming and theater component of the book. Yet again, the paranormal component only added to the fantastic story. So many interesting mini stories within the overall story of Marcy Anderson. I would definitely be in favor of more books with these characters.

I really enjoyed this book. There was an instant connection to the characters of Tess and Trey and I was pulled right into their story, their sizzling connection, and of course, their tie to the century-old family story of Phoebe and Edward. This was a quick read and just so enjoyable. I loved the way the different characters channeled the older family members involved in the mysterious happenings 100 years earlier. The paranormal component of the story just added to the fun and romance of it all. Great read.

Julia Costa is a young Portuguese woman who is a widow, and she has a passion for wine and winemaking, it has been instilled in her since she was a child and she loves it, so when she married, she knew how to both work and manage the vineyard, however, after her husband died, she took on the roll full time, not that the suppliers know that. Griffin Maxwell is a young man who has made a deal with a large wine salesperson, the unfortunate thing is that he now has to chase a debtor in a small town in Portugal, it is the last thing he wants to do, however, he reluctantly agrees and goes to another vineyard nearby.
Griffin is not used to travelling when not doing it on horseback, so when he becomes stuck behind a local mail cart, he cannot take the cramped space any longer and decides to forge ahead on horseback, however, this does not go to plan when he encounters a boar and a woman working on the vines, in the most inappropriate mens clothing, but destiny brings them together to escape the boar, then part ways. This, however, is not the last he will see of this intriguing young woman as he meets her again at the local villages celebration and this is where he also cannot resist a taste, no matter how scandalised she feels after the kiss, but he is adamant he wants nothing else to do with the Portuguese or their temptations.
Julia does her best to ignore the attraction between herself and the Englishman, however, when the past comes to visit, she knows she needs to make another hard choice. Soon, Julia and Griffin begin to work together learning about each other’s skills and when Griffin discovers Julia is the debtor he is supposed to chase and is torn between his heart and his business dealings, but things are not to be within control, or Julia’s when tragedy strikes, and a pestilence begins to rip its way through the local vineyards.
Will Julia and Griffin be able to work together to find a cure for the vines, or will their livelihoods come crashing down before they can take a chance to invest in them? The Bastion is a school where young humans, shifters and fae of the royal families of the seven sovereigns will come to study, hone their skills and blossom into the rulers they are being trained to be and it is one of the safest places they can be. Each sovereign state has their own tower where the youths live and each one has two emissaries to help them.
Amelia of Avonlee is one of these youths, a girl with a future planned out for her, but she is rebellious and especially with one certain part, an arranged marriage between herself and the Prince Dane of Carpathia, she is adamant that she doesn’t want this and is determined to break it. Prince Dane has always wondered what his betrothed looks like but is of the opinion that she will just be another weak human, but that all changes when he meets her for the first time and the idea of breaking the betrothal soon becomes impossible.
Meanwhile, the other students have their own worries and dreams, so between studying, training and the tournaments and competitions between the kingdoms beckon, the rivalries come out to play in full force. The main one is between the two shifter clans, they each feel superior to the other and will do anything to prove it, so during the tournaments, some true colours shine through and they are not all positive ones.
One elusive fae from a kingdom nobody wants to garner the attention of is Kessara, the daughter of the Necromancer, a beautiful girl with plenty of tricks up her sleeve and chaos to create, but she is always willing to help others, but for a price of course. This is how Prince Dane comes to her, desperate for help with Amelia and turning her opinion of him and their betrothal round, however her price is a steep one for such a request.
As the months progress, the Bastion becomes a haven of lies, alliances, betrayal and treason as treaties are broken, maintained and stretched to their limits, especially when danger calls and reality hits, but will this lead the students down the correct path, or will fate intervene? This is a fantasy book filled with magic, action and a sprinkle of mayhem which will keep you on your toes and hooked until the end.

Romance, fated mates, hot as hell shifters, what more could you want from a collection of short stories?
In the first story, Elorah is a young woman who is always running away from Rowan, she knows that she wants him and that he wants her, but what she can’t understand is why, especially when they keep playing cat and mouse, but who will win in the end?
The second story is one where a woman called Terra goes to sit in a coffee shop opposite a building with some fascinating statues, but the more she looks, the more she sees, but is this really happening, or is she imagining it, that is the main question?
The next story is heavier, but just as good where Lorena wakes up in a room in Hell, but she is not alone, there is a Hellhound in there with her and not just any Hellhound, an alpha who claims her, but can she really believe she is the one for him?
Draco is more than meets the eye in story three, he is a mix of two shifter species and is a one of a kind, but only one person Esma, accepts him for what he is, well mostly at least, but will she take a leap of faith and take their friendship further?
Jax is a wolf shifter, and he has his eyes set on Ivy, his Harlot, but when danger calls and a decision to be made, will it be a happy ending?
The final story is about Walker and his scuba diving love, but will a mutual love of the water be able to keep her next to him, or will his wild nature scare her away?
This is a collection of stories filled with passion, danger and seduction where fated mates are found, and romance is kindling in the pages of this paranormal romance.
I am a big fan of this author and have yet to be disappointed by any story she tells. This one included. Curse of the Forbidden Island is a short story with romance, mystery and plenty of entertainment. I wish it was a full novel. I enjoyed it thoroughly and cannot wait to see what’s next from C.A. King!
