This book had me on the edge of my seat with so much happening so soon (not a bad way to start a book) by the way. From the relationship with his twin brother to the other characters, Jake is a man on his own embracing a new environment. the way that everything shaped Jake into being more than who he is beautiful as he handles his own. Dealing with his own painful strides, Jake is overcoming it in a way that’s heroic at least in my eyes. I’m glad I read this book as it led me to trust myself more and the position I’m in at the present moment. Great message, great read: get you a copy!

Weine and Lorie are about to celebrate the lunar new year with their family, it is a big celebration where families come together to enjoy food, parades and gifts together and one of the main aspects for children are lucky red envelopes.
This year, Weine is in charge of collecting the envelopes and their safekeeping in her bag, however, when they go to get a drink before the evening feast, Weine realises that she hasn’t got them, so she and Lorie have to retrace their steps to find out where they are.
Will the two sisters be able to figure out where the envelopes were left and will they still be there? This is a lovely snapshot into the traditions and celebrations of Asian-Americans in New York City and a cozy mystery all at the same time in this wonderful story.
This book had me rolling. It had a few good laughs and a lot of spice! In the beginning Cy was a little annoying. He was your typical spoiled rich kid, that used money to solve all of his problems. But seeing his character grow and mature was worth the sometimes cringe worthy moments he had. Jolie is your single mom with 2 boys. She’s hardworking, and does everything she can for her boys, especially her little boy that has cystic fibrosis. Her side of the story watching her try to make ends meet broke my heart. But when she put’s Cy in his place several times, it was noteworthy. It was a good contemporary romance read, and a good short book. The story was sweet and heartfelt, and the writing like always was phenomenal. I can’t wait to read about the rest of the family and see where their stories go!
I have read a few books from this author with my son and they are always so good. This is the second book of the youth Sleuths chapter books. I would read the first book before you read this one so you get the back story of the characters. My son and I were so excited to read this one we stayed up and read it in one night. You can’t help but fall in love with these characters. I can’t wait to read the book in this awesome series.
Dylan and his little sister Emily don’t go anywhere without thinking they could find a new mystery. They also have to bring their best partner Theodore which is the dog. They are so excited to practice some baseball together but when they get there all the bases are gone. Will they be able to find out who stolen the bases or will it be a mystery they can’t solve? I swear Lois Wickstrom is like my new favorite, go to author when me and my little ones are looking for a new and exciting book to read. Her imagination knows no bounds. It is truly always a pleasure to read her work and this story was no different. Just like her other characters, it’s fun to see the adventures Caspian gets into on his unbirthday. This year he was sad when he didn’t find the box in the usual spot but what he did find was way better. I’m not gonna lie, I super duper wish that the Inquisitive indicator was real 😂 I definitely need one. I can’t wait to pick up more amazing work from this author.
Charming Chapter is a wonderfully written romance, with big bonus points because it is a second chance later in life romance. As a 50-year-old woman it is very refreshing to read books in my own age range. The characters are all likable and easy to relate to and nicely developed. This book will take you on a journey with self-discovery, you may think about your own relationships, a bit of drama and love and even some laughs. It is a fun quick read, and I can’t wait for the next book. I highly recommend this book.

This book is the follow up/ continuation of Hidden Mischief. I enjoyed the first book alot and was excited to to read this one. We were introduced to Zach and Ashton in the first book and this book was much needed for their HEA. So much happened in their story, many hurdles and hardships to overcome and none of it was easy. They were awesome main characters and even though I’m sad their story is done, I enjoyed it alot. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future! Happy Reading!
This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled right in and finished it in one sitting. I really enjoyed Cy and Jolie’s story. My emotions were all over the place. Jolie was a strong character, she was a single mom working at Cy’s family theme park. Cy is working undercover and when he meets Cy he is immediately drawn to her. What will happen when both their secrets come out? Overall I really enjoyed this book. We get steamy, sweet, and so much more. This author does a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from her. I look forward to the next book in the series. 1-click and get started today.
I really enjoyed this book! And I love how it showed how different types of cultures enjoy the Lunar New Year! This is a super good story for little kids to learn how other people celebrate holidays!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a chapter book so I do recommend for an older elementary student. But it is still a great read! I’m on the road for work a lot and I read this book in between pickups and it really kept me entertained.
This is a super fun chapter book about Timmy, Beth, and Arthur, three friends who are on the hunt for a 200 year old time capsule. They have a super cool dog named Cody that knows Morse Code. Together the band of friends are on a quest to crack the codes and decipher the map that they’ve been given.
This is a great book to either read aloud as a family or to have on your shelf for your reader(s)! There is a sci-fi component to this story for added enjoyment! A must have for your personal or school library!

This collection of books are so steamy, I’m shocked my kindle didn’t melt. There’s a book for everyone in this set. These books are all so short you can read one book a night and make it last longer. Each story was better than the one before, I can’t even pick a favorite. You definitely want to get your hands on this set full of short, hot, addicting steamy, hot….did I say hot already ?? This was ridiculously good. I loved them all. We all know this author knows how to write spice just as good as any other but, I do not think any review could really Tell you just how good this box set is. Grab this box set and I dare you TRY to prove me wrong. 10 stars

While Loretta is digging in the dirt she finds glowing larvae which she has the idea of putting in her ant farm to see what happens to them. After watching them she finds there are more than a few mysteries to these bugs.
I thought this was delightful. Loreta is a girl with a curious mind and having her see the larvae evolve into flying glowing insects was not only informative but beautifully illustrated. Another great story in the Loretta’s Insects series.

I had read another book by this author last year, and it was such a hit with my family that I didn’t hesitate to pick this one up. I love the beautiful cover and illustrations inside as I feel they added a bit more emotion to the story, especially for my kids. We all learned more about Lunar New Year and the traditions in their culture. It sparked wonderful conversations with my 8- and 12-year-old which is always exciting! This would be wonderful to share with the young ones in your life, but I genuinely enjoyed the educational side of it. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us because they’re quickly becoming a favorite in our household!
I love getting my hands on another book in this series as they are each as good as the last one I read. this book is exactly what I have come to expect as well. It is well written story with a great plot and fantastic characters. They are complicated and interesting and so easy to connect with. For me, these are the kind of characters that carry a story and I want to find out more about. This author has really shown off her writing style with this series and it has definitely caught my attention. I have enjoyed each and every book so far and this one is no exception. I am looking forward to my next book by this author.

The Changed Man Audio Book is the fourth book in The Olympic Peninsula Series. This series just keeps getting better and better with each new book. I’ve truly enjoyed listening to this series and this one may be my favorite yet. The narrator does an amazing job bringing the characters to life with different tones of their voice. I literally listened to this every break and on my way home I had to know what was going to happen next. I just want to say if you haven’t already started this series I highly recommend starting with the first book. It’s a great series and you get back story on what’s been going on and get to know the characters better. Im not going to give anything away. I highly recommend giving this a listen to find out how things turn out for Jake. I’m looking forward to reading/listening to more from this Author.

Book 1-Echoing Hearts This is a beautiful slow burn romance. I love the author’s writing style and how the characters were really brought to life. The author has a way of writing that has you captivated by the characters and willing them to get their happy ever after. Even when that seems so unlikely. This story had me captivated from the first page and I wasn’t able to put it down. Rae is dead set against the idea of love. She can’t see herself falling in love and isn’t looking for it. So when she meets Dean she is taken completely by surprise when the feelings she gets aren’t entirely neutral. Dean has had heart ache in the past when his ex partner left him at the aisle. Since then he has sworn against love. Never wanting to let anyone get close enough to hurt him again. When they meet the circumstances aren’t ideal. Rae is meant to do a segment in a magazine about Dean’s house and he’s not supposed to be there. As Dean and Rae realise they are stuck with each other for the weekend their attractions grows. Things aren’t going to be straight forward however and when Rae’s room-mate and famous rock star comes into the picture the jealously is there for everyone to see. Can Rae and Dean see through all the rubbish and be together? Can they both let go of their pasts and embrace the love that is waiting for them if they are only brave enough to take the risk? It was a beautiful story to watch unfold and their passion and pain is felt in every page and decision they make along the way
Book 2- His Forever Muse This is such an emotional friends to lovers romance. This is the second book in The Echo Series however it can be read as a standalone and still be enjoyed. I love this author’s writing. There are sensitive issues such as domestic violence in this story and the author handles it in a way that isn’t too graphic but gives the reader just enough information to get a feel of what it is like to be in a relationship like that. Brandon Rossi is a talented musician and artist but just recently he’s lost his mojo. There is something missing from his life but he doesn’t know what that is until he meets Calliope. Calliope is a art gallerist. After the trauma from her past relationship which left her a broken person she had managed to rebuild herself and her life. She puts on a front of being a happy complete person but that isn’t the case. She is still broken inside and feels she will never be complete until her path crosses with Brandon again. Their connection hasn’t go away even after all these years and this could be their chance to finally give their love a chance. But things aren’t that simple and when Calliope’s abusive ex returns it could mean the end of their budding romance. This is a heartbreaking and moving story about second chance love and overcoming all odds to find their happy ever after but would is Brandon strong enough to protect her and safe her from her past and the demons that still lurk?
Book 3- Unexpected Entanglement This is the 3rd book in The Echo Series. I highly recommend reading the books in order so you get a better feel for the characters as previous characters show up in this story. However it could be read as a standalone because it mainly focuses on the two main characters Chris and Rowan. This story has a mixture of everything. The romance is a slow burn as circumstances mean that Chris and Rowan have to pretend to be a couple. So what happens when faking being in love actually turns into the real thing? This is something neither of them expected to happen or were looking for. All Chris had to do was help Rowan pull off her cousins wedding, but as attraction sizzled between them and strange things started happening he knew there was no way he could walk away from her. As a reader you can’t help but fall in love with the characters which just goes to show how much love and character the author puts into them. They are more than just words on a page you can imagine them as living breathing beings and you feel every emotion they go through. I really enjoyed this emotional heartfelt story.
Book 4- Dangerous Rhythm This is the 4th book in The Echo Series. Each book can be read as a standalone as they focus on different couples however I have a feeling once you read one you will want to read them all. What I love about this story is that it is the female lead who is the bodyguard/protector which is a nice twist as normally its the male. These books are full of danger, chemistry and great characters. Curtis is a famous rockstar. He has everything he could wish for in life but he feels something is missing. When he witnesses a crime he is forced to go into hiding with a bodyguard for protection. That body guard is Lina. They met years before when Lina was his bodyguard and Curtis left a lasting impression. Now their paths cross again as Lina now has to protect him from the Mafia and a woman who wants Curtis. Not for his fame or his body but she wants his head. Can Lina keep her emotions and desires in check long enough to keep Curtis safe? When Curtis realises that Lina is what he’s been missing in his life can he convince her that sometimes duty can take a back seat to following your heart. This is a fast paced romance filled with steamy chemistry and danger around every corner.

I am such a fan of this series. The author does such a fantastic job of portraying family dynamics and family relationships. Though this is book 4 and it’s focus is on Jake and his slow burn relationship with Chiara,we see the relationships still developing with the other couples. We also get to see him work on rebuilding his relationship with Joe and his other family members. This book, heck the whole series, hits me in the feelers. I always come away feeling every emotion. These guys feel like they could be part of your family or close friends. They are easy to relate to. Such a strong writing style that pulls you in and you are engaged until the end. Hearing it in audio provides a new level to it in the way of feeling those emotions when it comes to the relationships. Every time Chiara would real to Lorenzo about Miss Bigfoot, I swear I woul loose it and spit what I was drinking out. This might be my favorite among the series. I loved the narration. It was fantastic all around.

The Missing Red Envelopes is a children’s chapter book designed for kids between the ages of seven to twelve years of age. It tells the story of young Asian American sisters Weina and Lorie who live in New York City. The sisters set out to take part in the Lunar New Year celebrations but end up trying to solve a mystery. A special part of the celebrations involves collecting red envelopes that contain either chocolate coins or money. Younger sister Weina asks if she can be the keeper of the red envelopes and promises to keep them safe. She is upset when she discovers the envelopes are missing and she must retrace their steps throughout the day to see if she can solve the mystery of where the envelopes went. This book gives a fun and informative description of Asian American culture and traditions that takes place during the Lunar New Year. From the foods they eat, the parade, Chinese Dragons, the fireworks, the importance of family, and that wearing red means luck. The illustrations add an extra element to the story which help to bring the story to life. This book offers children the opportunity to learn about another culture while also learning about problem solving and critical thinking.

This was a quick read for me. It was a bit predictable but had some good connectable points despite its YA target audience. I enjoyed the characters and the overall plot. It was engaging and I felt that the story did have a nice overall flow. This would definitely hit better in the target audience than it did for me.

This is a multi-pov book. There are multiple POVs in chapters too and the only telltale that it’s a new POV is a break in the page.
Logan- grumpy, workaholic. stopped trusting people due to an issue that happened between him and his ex-best friend.
Jinx- sleeps around with guys while waiting for her “larger-than-life true love” while also running a shop with her best friend.
This is a fast burn and there are spicy scenes in this book.
Overall the book wasn’t that bad. Make Me Burn by Alicia Street is the first book from the series I have read and will most likely read the others now. There’s drama, being reunited after so long, rekindling love, and finding out the truth for these two love birds and I am here for it!

Hidden Mischief by Alyndra Quinn is Book 1 in the Shattered Embrace series and the first (but not last) novel that Ihave read by this author.
Hidden Mischief is the story of Ashton and Zachary. Ashton is very successful in her working life but very shy in her private life with hidden submissive tendencies. Zachary owns Shattered Embrace which is a sex club,he interviews Ashton with the aim to train her and approve her club membership but is captivated by Ashton and claims her as “his exclusive submissive”. This book ends suddenly so I am looking forward to Book 2 to continue with their story…
This is book 2 of the shattered embrace series and a continuation of the story of Ashton and Zachery. This is not a stand alone novel you MUST read book one prior to reading this novel.
This book is a love story of Ashton’s complete and utter surrender and complete submission to Zachery…. Hot sex scenes without it being too graphic a detail.
Mina Skye’s “Hood of Sedna” was an amazing first book in a new steampunk series. This was the first steampunk book I’d ever read and am hooked and cannot wait for more books in this series to come out. The characters are so dynamically developed, I love the different breeds of characters including Faes, Warlocks, Witches, and humans all intermingling unknowingly. Stevie is our main character, who appears not knowing who or what she is, her past is all but blank, and she has no idea that she has lived such an enthralling life and that she is not a human but a mixed breed. She is the leader of a group of thieves who are doing all they can to survive by stealing from the rich in Sedna. It is always things that are not wanted like food, and other belongings that they are throwing away unnecessarily while others are starving and going without. Unfortunately, these actions have caught the attention of the local marshal who does not realize that Stevie is not a man, but the same woman that keeps turning down his unwanted advances. Out of the blue three mysterious men appear in Stevie’s life claiming that she is someone from their past, but how is this possible, she doesn’t remember being a princess from 300+ years ago, if that is even possible. Do these men hold the answers to Stevie’s past, and if so which if any of them, are there to help her, and which are only working for their selfish reasons? This short read was full of real life situations and acts of how the working man or woman is treated in a world where the little guy gets the short end of the stick but still comes out on top. It’s cute, and full of surprises. The book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger necessarily but it is the first book in a series. It’s not necessarily something for me as I’m not a huge contemporary fan but for those who love contemporary romance, this may be a book for you. I’m giving this book a 3 star rating not because of my preferred genres but I felt like it could use some more detail, and I wasn’t at all prepared for the FMCs second line of work and didn’t find it exactly tasteful but for others it might be a different experience. I really enjoyed the MMC especially that this was a dual point of view. I also didn’t care for the mental thoughts that didn’t feel mature enough considering the age demographic. This book probably should have had some trigger warning’s as some may feel uncomfortable but it didn’t deter me from the story.
