I was not prepared for the story that is Basil! The curvy biochemist, Basil, becomes a sparkly, vegan vampire. Once she figures out how to survive with her dietary restrictions, a whole new adventure begins. Basil’s mates (yes, plural) are supernatural beings that I honestly never would have thought of, but am completely on board for. K. Rose delivers romance, drama, humor, a little suspense, and a whole lot of entertainment! The characters are so unique and delightful and I couldn’t help but fall in love with them! With plenty of steamy moments between Basil and her 3 men, there was still a plot involved as well. The world building was fun and colorful and transported the reader to the supernatural community of Silver Springs. Basil is part of the multi-author series, Silver Springs Pets. I haven’t read any of the other books, but may have to check them out. And I will definitely be looking for more books by K. Rose.

This book was the cherry on top of an amazing sundae. I fell in love with the Bennetts when we first met Teddy and the rest of the family and my love for this family has done nothing but grown over the years.

I always hate saying bye, but there was no better way to do than with James. He and Sara are just amazing together and add Noah to the mix and they are absolutely perfect.

James finds his happiness and Sara finds peace. What more could you ask for?

I’m going to miss the Bennetts and hope Ms. Fletcher treats us to more of her wonderful stories and characters.

They face many obstacles along the way and get help from each other and from some friends. They also learn how to be brave and how to work together. This is a great book for early readers.

Nessie and the Celtic Spy is the third book in the Nessie’s Grotto Series. Cute book and interesting story about Craig and Linda and their quest to help Princess Sheona. The kids find quite the adventure between Canada and Scotland and the Celtic maze they must navigate to save the princess. This is a great book for children in the 7-12 age range. A fun story line, adventures with Nessie from Loch Ness, and so much more. I found this an entertaining story and I imagine children would love it, too.

Nessie and the Celtic Maze is Book Three in the Nessie’s Grotto series. This delightful children’s chapter book continues the adventures of siblings Craig and Linda, and Nessie, The Loch Ness Monster. Craig and Linda’s parents have taken them to Canada so they can be far away from Nessie. However, when the children learn that Nessie’s daughter, Princess Sheona is in trouble, they know they must find a way to save her. Luckily, there is a secret underwater passage that goes from Canada to Loch Ness. On the other side, in Scotland, is a young lad named Angus who is also trying to help Princess Sheona. Encouraged and supported by his mom, Angus learns to be brave. A cute story with whimsy, magic, mystery, adventure, and fun. A great addition to this series.

So this was my first foray to Silver Springs and I cannot wait to check out the rest of the stories! Basil was a fantastic character, I loved that she was intelligent and witty and refused to accept that she had to give up her vegan lifestyle, despite now being a vampire! She ends up in Silver Springs where she creates her own serum so she can continue her vegan life style and opens a juice bar and tanning salon. I loved the reverse harem and Basil getting 3 sexy mates. There were so many quirky and fun characters throughout the story, I definitely think is a great story and Silver Springs seems like a great place to live!

My family and I have read several picture books by this author, so we were extremely excited to see her branch out into chapter books. I was a little hesitant as picture books are quite different, but pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed this even more! My kids are 8 and 12, and I’m obviously a tad older, but we all gathered around and read this book in one day. I loved the cover immediately, and once I read the synopsis, I knew we were going on an adventure! The flow of the story is marvelous and seamless. I never felt jolted out by an oddly placed fact or chapter. This was such a fun and mysterious adventure where you’ll have a lot of questions that will absolutely get answered. I highly recommend picking this up for the younger ones in your life whether that’s in your family or in a classroom!

This is absolutely one of my favorite types of romance novels; we have our heroine, Bailey, who is successful and hardworking, while still being genuine and relatable. She is also raising her 2 daughters. Fox makes a really sweet and sexy main man, who is a hardworking dad of 2 boys. She and Fox work together, but until now, haven’t really had much interaction, but during a plane ride, sparks fly. I thought all of their interactions were so sweet and adorable. They are two caring and loving people, trying to navigate figuring out their relationship as well as the struggles with working together in a corporate world. This was a fairly quick read, but everything about it just struck the perfect notes. I also loved that it was told through both POV so we could see what both Bailey and Fox were thinking. An absolutely wonderful book for anyone who wants a sprinkle of romance in their lives.

This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I devoured it in one sitting. If you enjoy a spicy romantic fantasy with a bit of suspense then this is a book for you. I loved the character of Basil who was turned without her knowledge when she woke up in the hospital. I loved that she had a medical background and was able to use that knowledge to help herself.

My grandson and I loved this book. The message was right on point and sparked a conversation on asking for help when we need it. Even adults need this message as well. My grandson loved all the animals and how they worked together. The illustrations are so bright and vivid. Really grabs young readers to check out every page and talk about each one. Excellent book. We will be reading more from this author.

The Reluctant Spy is a children’s chapter book full of mystery, suspense, excitement, a mad scientist, a rat trainer, and mysterious earthquakes. The story centers around Timmy, his grandma, and their pet rat named Hildegarde who is smarter than the average rat. Timmy and his grandma set out to uncover what is causing mysterious earthquakes in their small town. The adventure sees Timmy setting Hildegarde off to the mad scientist’s house outfitted with special spy gear. Hildegarde might be the only one who is able to find out the truth. The story is fun, entertaining and enjoyable with a mix of quirky characters added throughout. Timmy and Hildegarde have a special bond even though he was uncertain about having a rat in the house in the first place. Grandma is quite an interesting character with her sense of humor and witty attitude. An enjoyable read.

Basil (Silver Springs Pets Series) by K. Rose. This is such a fun romantic comedy. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for the next. Its the story of Basil who is on her way home from a first date and ends up in a very bad car accident. When its all said and done she finds out she is now a vampire. This leads to a problem because Basil is a Vegan so how is she going to stay alive? She decides to open a juice and tanning bar in Silver Springs where supernaturals are all over. There is chaos and fun all around. Once she opens the shop she meets her 3, yes 3, fated mates and talk about a lot! They are a lot to say the least. Basil is a BBW so having 1 mate is hard enough but 3 is out of this world and let me tell you, it really is! This is such a fun and quick read and I truly enjoyed it and I’m sure you will too!

Hay Goes Home (The Adventures of Cray Series) by G Pa Rhymes. This is such a great story for younger kids. This whole series is wonderful and my nephew and I have loved them. We’ve read them all together. In this addition Hay the Fox and Cray the Crab are headed to Hay’s mom’s birthday party. On their way they run into a few obstacles but figure out ways to overcome. On the journey they learn that it is ok to not know everything and its ok to ask others for help. Making new friends along the way and finally arriving at the party they have the best time. The lessons taught in this addition are its ok to ask for help, its ok to need help and new things are fun. These books make wonderful gifts for families with small children and teachers for their classrooms. I have loved every one of them and my nephew has too!

Another winner from the world of Sandra Young! Theater means costumes, drama, tales of life and the emotions they include, too. Marcy Alexander is a great woman to know in the world of vintage fashion and the Oscar Wilde play their performing requires period dress, which is why she has the job to be a costume designer. She also is able to read people’s auras and helps her friends assist spirits pass over after she locates them. In addition to this, she is helping her friend at her clothing shop while she has to go out of town. There are so many new things Marcy is figuring out along the way – like the mystery of the person who died during the last showing of the Oscar Wilde play they’re putting on!

Friendship, dramatics, laughter, love, paranormal and loads of vintage fashion!

I am always looking for books that my grandchildren may like and I think this is one of them. It was well written and it shows that sometimes accidents may happen but they can and sometimes do work out.

I would like to get them to love reading as much as I do.

Lorie and her sister, Weina are excited about Lunar New Year and the money that they can get in those envelopes. The more envelopes they collect could result in getting the gift they would like to buy.

Free Men and Dreamers, Volume 1 takes place just before the War of 1812, and documents the events leading up to in a fictional drama/romance. Following the story from a historical viewpoint was really fun for me, I loved learning more about the times before the war and this story covers both America in her early days as well as England following their loss of the Revolutionary war.

This book is heavier on the scene set ups and background building than conversations and dialogue, which made it more of a challenge for me personally. It was also heavy on the miscommunications and love almost and possibly still lost. I love world building but also need more dialogue so if you’re like me, keep that in mind. Otherwise it was a really amazing read and I truly did enjoy it!

Basil is a contemporary RH novel with a twist. When Bioengineer Basil wakes up and discovers that she has been turned into a vampire, she is devastated, strangely not because she is now a member of the walking dead but that she is a vegan and can’t drink blood. So she makes herself an new alternative and a new life. Moving to Silver Springs and opening her own juice bar and meeting a few hunky supernaturals along the way. I liked this book, I enjoyed how it had things in it that I had never seen in these kind of books before, it wasn’t just your standard vamps, wares and witches. I liked the characters but felt that it all seemed a bit rushed at times, I would have enjoyed more of the build up to things but it was overall still a really enjoyable read.

The latest installment of the Detective Dylan series has Dylan, Emilie and their dog searching for the bases to their baseball field. This is a cute story that has children using their creative skills to figure out where they can be. The birthday party? The toddler pirates? Who might the culprit be? My grandson and I giggled through this story. He enjoyed the mystery. I enjoy the fact that he is able to work on his language and reading skills as we read the story together. In searching for clues, kids will also be able to learn some basic math. It’s really a fun story that has some educational value that they don’t realize because the story is so entertaining. Our favorite part was the toddlers asleep on the equipment. We will be eagerly awaiting the next book.

This is the first book that I have read by Amy Q Baker and it will certainly not be my last. This is a very sweet love story between Bailey and the CEO OF HAVELIN (the company that she works for) Fox.

Fox and Bailey meet innocently on a plane trip where they were both on their way to seperate work functions in seperate cities. Enjoying her company Fox gathers the courage to ask her out and they swap numbers.

In some respects it was very slow going, but there was a lot for this couple to work through and the important thing is that they got there in the end overcoming so pretty heavy realistic baggage.

I look forward to reading more from Amy in the future – it’s always great to find another author that I enjoy!
