My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Web of Evil by NL Holmes is a captivating historical mystery novel that takes readers on a thrilling journey through ancient Egypt. The story follows Neferet, a strong-willed and determined young woman, as she and her companions unravel the mystery behind a corpse found near her father’s country house.

The author does a fantastic job of immersing readers in the ancient Egyptian setting, capturing the culture and traditions of the time with vivid detail. The plot is well-paced and keeps readers on the edge of their seats as the characters navigate through a complex web of deceit and betrayal.

One of the standout aspects of this novel is the strong and empowering female characters, particularly Neferet, who defies societal norms and fights for justice in a male-dominated world. The relationships between the characters are well-developed, providing depth and complexity to the story.
