Touched is the first book in the Elemental Passions series and I could not believe the amount of effort that went into this book. TEN different amazing authors came together for this masterpiece, creating an amazingly unique world as one. You can’t even tell which author wrote which segment, considering how seamlessly they wound it all together. Touched is an incredibly written fantasy romance adventure with some extra spice. I adored Aeris from page one, and ate up every single page that followed. I do highly recommend this book, and CANNOT wait to snag book two!

I started The Ruarnon Trilogy from book one and admittedly I did take a long break from it . It was amazing how easy it was to slip right back into the author’s world and how it felt like no time has passed since I finished the second book, Secrets of The Sorcery War. The plot is fast paced and engaging without feeling rushed and the setting is so easily visualized. What really stands out in this series is Carlson‘s writing skills and the growth the characters go through, especially Linh and Ruarnon. It is truly unique and very enjoyable to read. I highly recommend this amazing fantasy series. You will not be disappointed.

Queen of the Fairies is a children’s book designed for children between the ages of 4 and 8 years of age. It is about a little girl who wants to write a book about the Queen of the Fairies. She realizes that she cannot just write about good fairies because if she writes just about the good fairies, then the bad fairies might play tricks on her. The bad fairies might even decide to take the book that she is writing about the fairies and then the Queen of the Fairies will never get to see it see it. This is a cute story with a surprise ending that was fun to read. The bright colorful illustrations really bring the story to life. Another wonderful book by this talented author.

Marnie works at a clinic for veterans with PTSD. She is running a trial to help with PTSD. Her first day she discovers a suicide victim or was it suicide…. The book follows Marnie and her friends and coworkers who all have experience with veterans who have become drug users and/or have PTSD. Police believe the suicide case is as it appears and close the case. The victims wife questions this and backs up her thoughts to the point Marnie starts questioning the suicide as well.
It’s a well written mystery that keeps you guessing. The characters have all experienced tramas and work with trama victims so seeing how each deals with their trama is interesting. It goes back and forth between the characters so the reader can see what is happening when the main character Marnie isn’t around and so they can get the perspective of someone else about situations.

Breaking Apart (A Finnerty and Liccione Mystery) was SUCH a great book! Multiple POVs, intrigue, mystery, suspense, light thriller… I loved all of it. It is a little slow up front, but not in a tedious way. The rest of the book moves pretty smooth and quickly. As a retired medic, I really love the medical side of the book was completely accurate (such a pet peeve of mine), but it was also written and explained so easily that it would not be hard for anyone without a medical background to be able to understand. Awesome read, really enjoyed it!

Stop that Lion is such a cute book! I know that anything by lois Wickstrom my kids are going to love and I’m going to enjoy reading it to them, but this one really was adorable. Very unique; it tells the story of two kingdoms who have a lion problem, as in a lion that eats the sheep of the neighboring kingdom! The problem is then solved by a young girl. Very simple and fun for kids, definitely recommend.

This is an intriguing conclusion to this adventure of Ruarnon. It’s a story of courage, learning and strength. Along with his friends, they went on an journey that was very risky. I found the characters to be interesting and they brought the story together well. The story itself was well written. It’s a good trilogy. If you like fantasy, this is a trilogy you may enjoy.

On her way to the cabin things go wrong which has her ending up in a ditch in the road, trying to get to her trusted company Biscuit she then falls an injures her ankle, while trying to come around a gruff cowboy helps her and eventually she lets him take her to his house at the end of lane so his sister can check her over. Alexa is at a loss when she starts having feelings for the widow but factor in his four year old daughter so is a gonna.
Jake is still grieving the loss of his wife four years ago, he is only existing but that is no life for his daughter to be raised, quiet and lost in her own world his family worry about the little girl. When driving home with Katie in the car he stumbles across an accident and decides to help the stranded woman but quickly realising it’s his friend sister, Alexa. Although he needs to help her feelings start awakening that he has not felt in ages or even with his late wife which is scaring hi,.
As her recovery continues he starts to see a difference in his daughter Katie and within his self, hoping that something can happen with Lexie and will be able to mend a broken heart and live a life of love again.
This is the first book I have read by this author and it was a beautiful read. The story was lovely and uplifting with the interactions between the main characters brilliant and will put together. I also loved the interaction between Lexie and Katie and watching the little girl open up and blossom was a lovely thing to read.
The secondary characters added to the story and the twist in the end was a lovely thing to put the icing on the cake and wrap the story up nicely. Showing the vulnerable side to Jake was interesting I always love a softie at heart. I do hope some of the characters get a book, it would be especially nice to see Sean get his happy ever after.
I can’t wait to read more in the future.

The illustrations of this book were whimsical and colorful. The story teaches how sometimes the best advice can come from the least expected place. It also teaches how sometimes, taking chances can be worth it in the long run. It shows how bravery and friendship is often better than fighting or causing problems. As Amese steps up to become guardian she takes is on an epic adventure. Along the way she turns into different animals. I love that there is a lesson to be learned and that is telling the truth. I enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend reading it to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Touched is Book 1 in the Elemental Passions series and I am just amazed that 10 authors completed this story together. It is just one story, having it all come together by multiple talented authors truly amazed me. The story was fantastic weaving a blend of Fae, magic, forbidden love, secrets, suspense, fantasy and romance. I cannot wait to see where this series takes me….I am totally intrigued.
What can possibly happen when you see through a Fae’s glamour? Detective Callum LeBlanc finds out on the streets of New Orleans…mesmerized by a beauty that he cannot stop thinking about. Who doesn’t love a book about unicorns? I know the girls are obsessed and loved this adorable book about Stega the unicorn. She was invited to a party. She picked some blueberries to bring as a gift for Benny but ate the whole bowl. She then picked a bowl of walnuts and ate them too. Finally she spotted a beehive and got a bowl of honey but that didn’t make it to Benny’s either. By the time she arrived at Benny’s cave, her belly was rumbling and so she pooped right outside his door. It wasn’t an ordinary poop though….it was Unicorn poop. Loved the colorful pictures and the girls ( ages 2 & 4 ) loved the book

Breaking Apart (Finnerty and Liccione Mystery Series) by Wanda Venters, MD and Mary Rae, MD. This is such a good 2nd book in the Finnerty and Liccione Mystery series. It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them in order to get a better understanding of the characters. This is a very good book on a very serious subject, our veterans and the lack of health/mental care they receive. After one of the vets completes suicide, his wife just refuses to believe he would do that. After digging into the matter two doctors look into the very violent death of this solider and what they discover is heartbreaking. There is prescription scam that is so ugly involving a very bad drug that finds very important people trying to keep this under wraps. The Dr’s themselves may be in danger. Such a tragic and sad story about the very people who risk their lives for our country. They certainly deserve better. Will the soldiers family find peace with the news the Doctors uncover?

Rhapsody in Black: An Elena del Carral Mystery (Rhapsody In… Series, Book 1) by Maria Elena Alonso-Sierra. I loved this book and I can’t wait for the next one. Its full of mystery, intrigue, murder and suspense. Its the story of Elena who has been asked by Derek Michaels to dance at a Gala event at the Terpsichore Ballet in New York City. She has also been invited to try out for the Black Rhapsody ballet that is by the famous Rene Fauchier and its such an honor. Elena accepts the invitation knowing that it will only increase her success as a dancer and her dream of being a choreographer. Elena does have a secret that is linked to the Black Rhapsody and it could come back and ruin everything. This book reminds us that Ballet is not only beautiful but it has a dangerous side and when Elena’s secret comes back to haunt her their could be murder, deceit and danger. Such a fun suspenseful mystery set in the gorgeous world of ballet.

I don’t usually read the fantasy genre, but I’m glad I chose to read this book! The book is long, but it’s so entertaining, it had me reading as quickly as possible to see what happened next. I love Aeris. She is glamorous, yet independent and capable. I could relate to her character – wanting independence, but still caring very much what her family thinks of her. Callum is a brave gentleman and wonderful leader. He does well to balance Aeris’s characteristics. I was amused by his learning fae culture, as I was learning while reading this book, as well. Aeris and Callum together bring passion to this fae-human romance. I feel the authors did a great job building the relationship between the two characters, from the first time they met, throughout the ending of this book. It is book one in a series that is not yet finished. I’m excited to read book #2!

Murder on West Main was an amazing murder mystery. Daniel O’Halleran is on the case to discover who was behind the murder. It is no easy task, due to the large number of people that despised the murder victim, so there is a never-ending list of suspects is seems! Due to the incredible writing and storytelling, I was guessing the killer the whole time. It was nearly impossible to put the book down with the great cast of characters. I loved that the story was historically accurate! This made it even easier to get into the tale that was being spun. The interactions of the people in the story are much more proper, especially when it comes to the ladies’ interests, though this does not eliminate the gossip around town. I highly recommend reading Murder on West Main and I can’t wait to read more by I.M. Foster.

Texas Winds by Dana Winds is a wonderfully written heartfelt book about second chances at love. Alexa “Lexi” left at the alter by a man that she wasn’t even to sure she even loved. Jake, burned terribly by his high school sweetheart wife, meet by chance with a blown tire and feral hog. Now she is stuck and Jake has become her saving grace in more ways than one. Then she meets Katie, Jakes daughter and she is taken with her as well. Both have been hurt and when Jakes past comes around again, they both need to figure out what they want and If that includes a future together. This book simply was an amazing read set in the Hills country of Texas. The author gave us amazing characters that readers can really understand and picture as they read. The ranch, simply beautiful, and I could close my eyes and just see it. This book gives you love, loss, heartbreak, and growth. I highly recommend this book!

From the moment I started reading I found this book to be highly enjoyable. I thought the author did a great job of creating relatable and engaging characters. they had a really strong connection from the start and Katie was the perfect addition to the story. for me, the author captured her, and her emotions so accurately. The story was well written and I thought the pacing of the story was really good. The author knew how to move the book on and keep it progressing without sacrificing anything that was happening. I thought the book was a great story overall and it is one I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.

Let’s start with the obvious, you can read this book before reading the others in this series. There are characters that overlap between books but each book can be read as a stand alone. You don’t feel like you are missing out on anything if you are starting with this book. You will want to go and read the other books in the series. Now, let us talk about this book. It is amazing and fast paced. The action on the pages keep you turning them. When I say this book was a quick read, I don’t mean that by it being a short time span; I mean it because the action and pace of the story line is quick. Just when you grasp what happened, something else happens. The cars in this book just accelerates the story line and the pace which the author wants to take you through the story. Then the author adds in some amazing characters that help feed into the pace of this book. I felt like an adrenaline junkie while reading this book. When I finished it, I felt like I do things that are way out of my normal. lol. This book will have you thinking you can do some of this amazing stuff that the characters do because you can relate to them. The characters help drive home the chemistry in this book and I loved every second of it. I will be reading the rest of the series because if this book was the good, can you imagine what the whole series is like and how even more incredible it could be. This book contains a little of everything for everyone. I highly recommend reading it even if you don’t like romance, you will like the banter with the characters and the action in this book. Chloe has always wanted the perfect relationship because it is what her mother has pushed on her. That she needed someone in her life with stability. She thought she had that with Adam but he had planned out their whole relationship without even asking her what she wanted. She then meets Isaac a basketball player at the University of Kentucky. She thinks things are going great with him until she gets a chance to go to Paris on scholarship. While in Paris she meets Chase a handsome Parisian that helps at his family’s vineyard. Could this be the relationship she is looking for? But after her time in Paris she decides to move to New York for job opportunities. She is now 30 and the youngest VP of her company. However on her thirtieth birthday she is hit by a bike rider while trying to protect her mother and breaks her arm at her elbow. She runs into said bike rider three weeks later at the coffee shop and her friend Kim gives him her information and tells him to message her and she will make sure she replies. This could possibly be the start of a great relationship.
This is the second book in this series and yet again this Amazing author had me feeling so damn good reading this book. I just smiled pretty much the whole time I was reading it. As I said with the first book it is filled with gorgeous characters, a wonderful storyline and set in a town I so wish I could visit, I was totally captivated from start to finish. I can’t wait for more from Magical Emerald Hollow.
Mood Swings and Hockey Flings is the second book in the Hot Flash Hookups series by the delightful duo Sylvie Stewart and Marika Ray. The first book Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes started out with a bang and this one is just as good. I suggest you read them in order, so you don’t miss out on anything. This light-hearted and fun Romantic Comedy is a love hate sports romance with witty banter leaving you laughing out loud at the antics and banter. These characters just cracked me up. Banks Bennet is at it again and has a reputation a mile wide. What’s new! Kaitlyn is driven to succeed in a male dominated arena and finds herself between hot flushes and mood swings and one frustrating male. Well actually make that two because she wants to prove something to her boss. The heartwarming tale has quirky characters who are to die for, and the chemistry and heat is turned way up.

Finding Cheer was cute. The story itself was good. A tad slow at the beginning for me, but I still kept at it which made it worth it. The author brings the reader back to Emerald Hollow, to see another character get a whirlwind story. Sofia was out fulfilling a New Years Eve tradition when she stumbled across an unconscious man. A man that would change her life. But not before her suspicions are raised. See the man knows his name but doesn’t remember anything else & he’s not injured. So what happened? At first she feels the need to keep an eye on him. And eventually feelings developed making for an interesting story. Isaiah literally stumbles into the laps of those in Emerald Hollow. He knows his name but doesn’t know who he is. Hoping and trying to see if someone is looking for him. He adapts to life as he currently knows it. Helping out at Emerald House is the least he could do for Ash’s trouble. Sofia thought perks his interest and as much as he wants to know he better he knows she is skeptical of him. Will she let him in? This story is told from the point of view of Ash, Holly, Isaiah and mainly Sofia. But despite that it’s Isaiah and Sofia’s story. Holly and Ash as supporting characters this time around. Though I can’t say that Holly might have some influence on the story. But you will just have to read to confirm or deny it. Hope you enjoy!!
Parent Readers Beware- Your kiddo will likely ask to foster kitten by the end of Oscar and Emmy Foster Kittens. I read this book with my 8 year old, and that was his first question, followed by disappointment when mom said no. We have read a couple of books in the series, and always love them. They are great learning tools, but perhaps I should not have chosen this particular topic lol. The illustrations are great- colorful and assist the story. Oscar and Emmy are the cats belonging to twins Abby and Charlie. Their family volunteers at the cat shelter, then decide to step it up a notch and foster a litter of newborn kittens. We are taken through the adventure, learning a little about the process and the growth and development of the kittens. I love that the book addresses the topic of “foster fails” and their mother had an excellent response when asked about keeping them.
