This was such a cute and quick read for my afternoon! You can easily get through this in one day as it’s nearly impossible to put down once you start. I felt like Laura was incredibly relatable and loved the way she evolved as the story went on. It’s also very refreshing to read about a love story that involves a woman that isn’t the typical 20-something year old because that trope is overdone, I feel. I’m also a bookworm so knowing that Laura finds courage in a book club was marvelous! You can feel the work that was put into the characters that make them all the more lovable. A beautifully sweet story about living your life instead of watching it pass you by. I will absolutely recommend this book for anyone looking for a happy ever after and wonderful friends, this should be your next read. I can’t wait to read more by this author!

Finders Keepers, Cowboy is the first in The Match Made in Montana series, and this book did not disappoint. It was very refreshing to read a clean, small town frenemies romance. I felt like this would be a great Hallmark movie. I love a slow build romance. The descriptive parts of Montana were fantastic. The main characters Meg and Ryan (and others) were very well written, both relatable and likeable. They both have a lot to overcome to find each other. Maybe a few nudges from Grandpa, who may be grumpy, but he ended up being my favorite. I enjoyed this book a lot and cannot wait to get my hands on the next one.

A very clean small-town frenemies, slow burn romance trope.
Meg Hawke is asked to help Hank clean out an old shed and use it for consignment items in her shop, hoping for it to save her little shop. Ryan is busy working hard to make the ranch successful in hospitality. Small town characters Meg and Ryan are destined to be matched with each other by Ryan’s relentless and meddling grandfather, Hank.
I really couldn’t get on board with Meg and Ryan’s constant uncertainty being enemies and in the next moment being lovers. Although, I absolutely adored Hank and Colby as they made the whole book for me.
While parts weren’t my favorite, it was an overall good read.

This is a compilation of reviews that I’ve written on these individual books.
The True Purpose of Vines (The Winemakers #1) 5 stars I love a good historical romance…they are among my favorite genre! This was a bit of a learning curve for me on this one though because I do not drink. I was lost on a lot of the wine references but I did learn a few things about how wine is made and found it interesting.
This book is set in Portugal during the 1800’s and is centered around a plague that attacked vineyards during that time. Mrs. Julia Costa is one of those vineyard owners, after being left a widow and a single mother. Women were not looked highly upon as business owners during this time so she faced increased scrutiny due to her standing in life, as well as her occupation.
Griffin Maxwell is an Englishman who is really good at keeping books. When his business partner suggests that he checks out this particular vineyard, Griffin obliges. The findings he uncovers will be the end of someone in this story though!
Julia and Griffin eventually meet and the sparks pretty much start flying right away, however very subdued. I love how the author allowed the character development to take place before the romance really heated up. There’s a few extra players involved too…so scandalous! 😉 In the end, can different cultures comingle and create something more beautiful than the vines themselves or will dedication to culture win out?
I’m excited to read the next book in this series, although I already don’t like a particular character and the way he behaved in this one. We’ll see if he will have any redeeming qualities about him!
The Taste of Light (The Winemakers #2) 4 stars This review is going to be hard to write without spoilers but I’ll do my best!
I HATED Pedro in the first book. I mean, a deep loathing for the man. I can’t say that now. He’s found a way to redeem himself with the way he’s handled Anne. It took me awhile to be able to say that but he’s earned his redemption!
Anne is helping out her sister-in-law with the vines and dealing with an outbreak of Phylloxera when she meets Pedro. Anne is a polar opposite of Pedro, along with several years younger.
Can Anne show Pedro how to be a decent human being? Will Pedro find his redemption and deal with his past?
There’s a little bit of everything to love in this book. A great historical based story that includes some humor, spicy romance, and a redeeming heart!

Henrique the Viscount is a scientist and an extremely playful rake. Isabel is a prude and proper princess. Two very unlikely people to ever want to be in the presence of another. When Isabel is sent to Portugal by her brother, the “bodyguard” assigned to her is none other than Henrique. Let the adventures begin!!
This book is romantic, funny, and a wee bit spicy! Even though this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. I’ve not been disappointed by a book from this author!! Looking forward to more!

Aeris has always been fascinated by humans. Being Fae meant always being hidden. She spends most of her days in the human world, observing their everyday lives. Keeping her glamour up meant she could walk along the humans without being seen. That is until Callum enters. For some odd reason a very handsome man by the name of Callum was able to see her. Thinking it was a one time thing, Aeris fled.
After that encounter, Aeris couldn’t get the stranger out of her mind. She decided to forget about him and move on. Fate had a different idea when Callum hit her with his car.
At the scene of the accident, Callum was freaking out. He had just hit the woman he has been wondering about since they met. Once he realized no one else was reacting to the accident, he saw that no one could even see this beautiful stranger. Not only that but her wounds are healed?
After that, they could not just forget and move on. Callum wanted to know everything about Aeris and Aeris was willing to risk it all for a human.
Aeris has no idea what has come over her. She will stop at nothing to see Callum again, even if it means betraying her family and home. Her family seem to have something against this particular human in general and Aeris is determined to find out why. Could they be kindred mates?
This book is the first book in the Elemental Passions series written by various authors. It was full of romance and was steamy with enough mystery to keep it intriguing as well. I really enjoyed Aeris as a character. She was headstrong, sassy, confident and passionate. I am rooting for love to conquer all that is thrown towards this unlikely couple.

It is not what I expected in a good way. It does get the reader to get a better understanding of how a young child feels when in a difficult situation. It also gives one a sense of how people can be helpful in dealing with emotions and let them know that they are not alone. The book is very colorful and gets the reader into what’s going on in the story.

Amese is the future Potentate for animalis. She is supposed to take over for her mom but has no desire to be Potentate. The story follows Amese as she navigates different scenarios as different animals learning lessons that would help her as Potentate. This is a great short read for young readers. I would definitely recommend this for parents looking for a good series their preteen and younger teens would enjoy.

This was a heartwarming “Later-in-Life Just Kisses Romance,” which had me captivated from the moment I picked up the book until I closed it again having read it in one sitting! Having joined a book club after the death of her husband Laura has settled for the single life. However, when her new book club friends tell her to ‘take a chance’, she decides to take her dream trip to England. Whilst in a London park Laura has a chance encounter with a handsome stranger which leads to them meeting again. As the attraction between Laura and Hugh grows she has to face her fears, but with the encouragement of her book club friends she’s able to face her feelings head-on. Just as Laura starts to believe that two lonely people from different worlds can discover love she finds out that Hugh has been keeping a secret from her, which may result in Laura having a broken heart once again. This was an enjoyable and engaging read and I literally could not put the book down as I felt invested in Laura’s journey right from the start. She is such a wonderfully detailed character and the connection between her and her book club friends really came across in the narrative. I love the fact that this is a later-in-life romance and the main characters are both likeable and relatable. The chemistry between Laura and Hugh really came across in this sweet romance, and I liked how they both brought their life experiences to the relationship and how their connection developed throughout the story. An Uplifting read, and I look forward to the next book in this new series.

This book was definitely a great must have for all Kids wanting a puppy. In This book, the siblings learn how so much is important. Puppies need more than a home, food and water. These siblings researched everything and still wanted a puppy after finding out just how important everything is for a puppy, playtime, training, socialization, grooming and plenty of other things. Great read for kiddos.

Aeries is a fairy that likes to watch humans. Callum, is a police detective, who can see her. She remembers that humans can only see her if they are not 100% human. I cannot wait to read the next book.

Code Dog is a children’s chapter book geared towards children between the ages of eight to twelve years of age. It follows the adventures of Timmy, Beth and Arthur as they follow the trail of clues in the hopes of finding a missing 200-year-old time capsule. The three friends get a bit of help from their old teacher, Mrs. Vance who gives them an old map, and her dog, Cody, who has special skills. Cody can tell your fortune, track, and can even speak in morse code through her tail. Timmy, Arthur, and Beth must follow the clues on the map which is a bit tricky because there is no X to mark the spot of where the capsule is located. They only have a limited amount of time to find the capsule if they want to win $1,000. This was an entertaining read with great characters, friendship, a super smart dog, fun, adventure, mystery, clues, codes, and investigation.

Stop That Lion is an entertaining picture book for children between the ages of 4-8 years. The illustrations by Timna Green draw the eyes and move the story along beautifully. The story depicts some lessons for young ones as they learn about friendship, peace, selflessness and more. It will be a hit amongst children as it is original and different to other children’s books. Wynnie is a clever young girl who looks outside the box to help solve a problem that affects kingdoms and one sneaky lion who likes to eat sheep. Will the king take Wynnie’s suggestions to the problem and implement them? I read this to my grandboys, and they really enjoyed it and came up with some suggestions of their own.

Porter and Midge: Paws and Responsibilities: A Kid’s Guide to Welcoming a New Dog follows the young characters of CJ and Lora as they thoroughly research the proper way to care for a new puppy. The story is told through fun rhymes which makes learning about the responsibilities of puppy ownership and care easy and entertaining for children. CJ and Lora learn about socialization, vet visits, dental care, grooming, and training their new puppy. They also learn the importance of picking the right breed that will suit their family. The illustrations are bright, colorful, engaging and really bring the story to life. A great read for any child who is eager to learn about the responsibilities of puppy ownership and care.

Beautiful artwork and a beautiful story. Cam and Inaya welcome Loris into their home, they just want to involve him in everything they do, but he wants nothing to do with anyone. My heart broke when he said he’s been scared his whole life, but the siblings counter all his points with promises of their own, they will be there for him. Loris learns to open up and to trust his new family and understand he belongs.

This book is a lovely Romance story about two old “friends” who manage to set aside their differences and find love. I think the author has created a well written and descriptive story that draws you into what is going on. I thought the story was interesting and it was nice to read a clean Romance, as it isn’t normally my go to book. I really enjoyed watching the characters discover more about each other, and themselves in the process. And Hank made a brilliant addition. This is a really great book.
I really enjoyed this book. The King of Mir asks his people to help find a way to keep the lion in the Kingdom of Sher away from their sheep. We journey along watching 2 failed attempts at keeping the Lion out until, a little girl is the one with the plan that works. The King doubts her and her plan and he is pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I love that the little girl, Wynnie is sympathetic to the lion and doesn’t want anything bad to happen to him but, they have to save the sheep in their kingdom.

Stop That Lion: A Tale of Friendship Love and Peace is another wonderful story by Lois Wickstrom that is very enjoyable, fun and engaging story and also promotes problem solving and thinking. The illustrations are perfect to bring the story to life. My great nieces and nephew loved this story as much as I did.
The Kingdom of Sher and the Kingdom of Mir are neighbors. The Kingdom of Sher had a smart lion while the Kingdom of Mir had sheep to raise. When the lion would get hungry and eat the sheep within the Kingdom of Mir…how could anyone stop the lion. Will Wynnie, a young girl whom lives within the Kingdom of Sher be able to find the best solution and make everyone happy?

Hell Hath No Fury is the second book in the Life Is Hell series. I enjoy the variety of LGBT+ relationships in this series, and the diverse cast of paranormal characters. It’s an action-packed read that’s hard to put down!
Hell Hath No Fury focuses on the relationship between Sheridan and Millicent, who met each other in the first book in the series. It’s early days for them, and Millicent is new to the whole paranormal thing so there are a lot of obstacles for them to overcome. Millicent’s mysterious stalker forces her to come to terms with this new world and accept help from her friends, but also puts a strain on her relationship with Sheridan.
I’m glad that we got to see more of some of the regular characters, like Jezebel! And I loved Millicent in the previous book so I was excited to see her story get more attention.
This book gets five stars from me. I’d recommend the series to readers who are already fans of the author’s work, and those who enjoy varied LGBTQ+ paranormal romances.

This is a really cute story about Wynnie and her solution to stop the lion from the Kingdom of Sher from eating the sheep in the Kingdom of Mir. The King of Mir tasks his citizens with coming up with a solution that is fair and the winner will be the King’s Royal Advisor BUT if the solution doesn’t work, then the King will take their most prized possession. Several others try and fail before Wynnie gives her solution. I love how Wickstrom is always weaving in life lessons for her readers. I also really like the illustrations in this book. This is an amazing quick read. I fell in love with the characters from the start. They both had some serious growth throughout the short book. I was able to read this book in a couple hours and I honestly can’t wait to read the rest of the series. This book is a really good book t o start the series with because I feel like it is laying the groundwork for the rest of the series. You finally are able to put everything together at the end of the book. It is all wrapped up with a pretty bow that allows you to continue on. I loved the level of spice this book has. It actually really helped carry the story line. I don’t mean that in a bad way, the spice is part of the entire story and obviously the series based upon the name. So, I felt like it was just the right amount. If you are looking for a sweet little get away from the real world, I highly recommend this book. Knowing that it is a series, I am excited to see what happens next and who the book is going to focus on. It is hard to tell how amazing this book is without giving away things. This was a really sweet read. It was a story about a woman who in her later years has decided to take a trip of the life time to find her roots. This is a beautiful story of one ladies journey of discovery to find herself and maybe find love along the way again. Is it possible to find a true love twice in a lifetime? Laura has found herself in a situation she didn’t imagine she would be. After losing her husband she finds herself alone and unsure of what to do with herself. After joining a book club she is encouraged to follow her passion and find her roots to the England. So despite her nerves about travelling alone she decides to do something’s for herself after all the years of helping others. When she arrives in England her adventure begins as she starts to trace and uncover her heritage. While she is on this journey she meets a gentleman. As their attraction and chemistry grows doubts begin to resurface in Laura’s mind but when feelings grow strong and the gentleman reveals a secret that Laura isn’t sure she can forgive and move past could this be the end of what could be the chance of the happiness and love again.
This is a really sweet, cosy read. I really enjoyed this story and I loved seeing Laura’s growth throughout the story.

They go check the playground where the Benny brothers are guarding the sandbox. But they don’t have them. There is also a birthday party at the park going on, they check there where a little girl is wanting a softball party. She doesn’t have it. They go on all these adventures to find the missing baseball plates. Well they end up going back to the start where a few smaller kids are playing pirates at the jungle gym. I just loved this book!! You don’t read a lot about foster care and over coming many issues that can come with being put through the system. Especially a children’s book! This book had wonderful illustrations, but also a wonderful storyline. It really puts you in the shoes of a little boy who has been through a lot and must overcome a lot at the same time. In this book, Cam and Inaya are training for a charity run. The charity run is to raise money for a friend of theirs’s who is in the hospital needing open heart surgery. As you go along you see these two practice running, handing out fliers, and getting ready for the big run. One day after a run the two go home and meet their new foster brother. Loris keeps to himself. He doesn’t say much, he doesn’t play with the others, and he keeps to himself quite a bit. Cam and Inaya try over and over to get him to join them in stuff but he always says no. One day at school Loris stands up to a bully in their school. All the kids are scared of him, but Loris has been scared of worse. The foster siblings start to bond over things and Loris lets his guard down some. Race day comes and Cam hurts himself during the run. Loris takes over for him and helps with the rest of the race. The event is a huge success and the children bond even more. Such a wonderful book. Teaching great values while learning about courage, kindness, and overcoming many fears that pop up in different ways. I would defiantly recommend this book for children 10 and under, but it’s also a good book to show teens to encourage understanding and help stop bullying in my opinion. I can’t wait to read it with my girls.

Elsbeth has a hot and cold relationship with her mother but definitely is a daddy’s girl. Elsbeth gets to her parents home, and looks at the will that’s left for her. “Stop That Lion” by Lois Wickstrom is a charming and engaging story about solving problems through creativity and collaboration. The premise of the story, with the Kingdom of Sher’s lion causing mischief in the neighboring Kingdom of Mir, is both humorous and relatable.
The characters in the story, particularly Winnie, are endearing and relatable. Winnie’s determination to save her pet sheep, Paley, and her kingdom is admirable, and readers will root for her as she navigates the contest to Stop the Lion. The King’s willingness to listen to Winnie’s idea and give her a chance to solve the problem showcases the importance of listening to diverse perspectives and working together to find solutions.
The message of the story, that fair solutions and teamwork are key to overcoming challenges, is conveyed effectively through the entertaining plot and well-developed characters. The illustrations by Carol Thompson complement the story beautifully, adding depth and visual appeal to the narrative.

While not my first Wickstrom children’s book I enjoyed it as if it was. Lois always manages to captivate children with her tales, and wonderful illustrations, while always managing to teach them something at the same time. In this case, this being the fifth book in the series, Loretta takes us back to her garden to take us full circle in the life of fireflies. We enjoyed this one.
As the name suggests this is a charming read with some wonderful characters and I really enjoyed Laura being an older age than you usually see lead characters in most romance novels these being days. I found the book club ladies fun and quirky. I’d definitely read more Of the Boomer Babes Book Club series.
