Reading the plot of the book caught my curiosity but then just the introduction with Aerie on her addiction to human romcom novels really grasped my attention. The story becomes more appealing once you make that connection with the character(s) and this did it for me. I have always loved stories of fantasy and sci-fi where a non-human being is intrigued by humans and makes a connection with a human they stumble into. Aerie happens to be a faerie and it is forbidden to be part of the human world. As a protective measure, fae cannot be seen by humans and this brings curiosity to this world as Aerie ventures into secretly. Then in a freak accident, she “bumps” into Callum LeBlanc, who is a New Orleans Detective and the ironic thing is that he can see her! Both of them become attracted to one another and as they learn more about each other, they are more drawn to one another. It is so great to see how their curiosity brings closeness into deep attraction. I love these characters, the settings and how the story connects so well. Looking forward to more in this series!
