Dinopotamis Goes to School is the first Lois Wickstrom book I have gotten my girls where she is the author and illustrator. While the pictures weren’t as good as the others, you can tell Lois Wickstrom put a lot of love into the story and art. I think my kids liked it best since it seemed more like art my oldest could try to copy, try being keyword. It was such a cute story and definitely for younger kids.

The Strategist is the 5th book in the WaterFyre Rising book by Nadia Han and can be read as a stand-alone
Arrow Holt- Abused by his alcoholic father for many years. When he got older he gained a fortune selling wine.
Vivian Vo- A dentist who helps families who don’t have insurance get the care they need. She also teaches self-defense classes to help people so they never end up in a situation like she has.
Arrow wants the girl- She rejects him twice but wants him too. She tries to keep her distance from him, but when their separate missions force them to work together, it makes everything harder. As they work together to find a missing girl and put an end to an international criminal organization they grow closer to one another. Their chemistry together, his understanding of her past and wanting to be there, the healing journey, the drama… just all of it, is off the wall! Such a great read. I will definitely be reading the other 4 books, as well as the 6th book in the series!

Ghost Talker by Byrd Nash is the first book in the amazing Madame Chalamet series. A wonderful paranormal mystery read, with incredible imagery, amazing characters, and beautiful world building of a fictional 1900s London. I absolutely loved this book, and every single character in it! I could not put it down, and am already reading the second book. I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes books that keep you on your toes trying to figure out the mystery because Nash definitely won’t disappoint!

This is a story that will get you from the start and hold you the further you get in. Helo (aka Queenie) has an intense past. Breaking into the Wretched Soulz MC may not have been the greatest idea. She was trying to help someone. Chaz and a couple others caught her. Let’s just say that the dance was on. Helo suffered from PTSD and is running from a bounty on her head. Chaz figured he was a bachelor for life because he was the MC leader. Watching these two figure out their relationship issues and work around the MC issues made for some reading that you couldn’t put down. I stayed up pretty late because I felt invested in what was going on. I had to know what the plan was. It’s fast-paced, full of drama and action. I enjoyed all the personalities. Storyteller makes an appearance with his family. It’s an exciting read (with a bit of steam).

Ten Little Starfish by Kim Ann is such an adorable book. My girls loved counting the starfish and we even practiced colors as well. They had so much fun counting they even started counting other stuff on the pages like the rocks, crabs, seaweed, moss, etc. I didn’t notice until after we finished reading that there was a QR code and an actual song to accompany the book, so, of course, we had to reread it with the song playing. I loved all the little information towards the end about starfish as well. All in all, this is a cute little book and perfect for young kids!

So these people have been friends since high school and are still friends into adulthood so when one of them , Craig , gets promoted they go on a boat trip to celebrate …but it soon turns to disaster
What baffled me is the issues they have with each other as we get a glimpse into their feelings on the way to said trip it feels like they’ve outgrown each other but are holding for whatever reason 🤷♀️
So irena married her high school sweetheart but divorced him due to his sneaker fetish and collection and I must agree it’s crazy and he goes t even wear them 🙈🤷♀️ anyhoo her current boyfriend Buzz is slso part of their friend circle but he seems a little unstable and obsessed to me but again only the reader sees that side but I must admit I appreciate the good relationship she maintains with her ex , Jack and they have their daughter Kelly to think of and he’s behind on maintenance ….
Irena knows more than most when it comes to boats and it seems her instincts with people aren’t to bad either and she knows something is off with her friend group but she just can’t put her finger on it ….but what I can tell you Jack made me feel he was up to something from the start …
Craig insists everyone wear life jackets and rightly so but Jack has to be difficult and refuse , I mean come in just put it on !! Then a wave hits , sone go overboard , sone come back and sone don’t , the search is on and things come to surface 🙈let’s just say I felt very disillusioned on behalf of some folk and expect the unexpected in this read 😉
When I started reading this I felt like putting it down , not because of the writing style but the people irked me but I’m glad I pushed through because I was rewarded at the end with a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read 😉

Ten Little Sandpipers by Kim Ann is a perfect book for young kids! Not only were my kids counting the Sandpipers but they wouldn’t let me go to the next page until they could count every little thing in the picture. From the clouds to the mountains, seashells, crabs… didn’t matter what it was they HAD to count it all. There are little facts about Sandpipers at the end too which started up a bunch of questions from my kiddos.

I love the writing style and imagination of this author. The cover and title immediately pulled me in. When I learned it was a supernatural story, I was even more excited to read. I have read many MANY supernatural stories but this is like no other that I have read before. The characters are well written and interesting. A duck shifter? The first for me for sure. Ducky is someone that I feel many can relate to in a way. Obviously not in the supernatural element, but in the way that she has been bullied and mistreated her whole life. She is an outcast and a loner. She doesn’t fit in with the others. She is in love with the Lord but believes he would never be interested in her. The Lord is back to prevent war and rumor is he is looking for a bride. Ducky believes it could never be her but she wants to take a peek anyway. This was a fun read and I am looking forward to future books in the series.
Ten Little Sea Turtles by Kim Ann is such a cute book. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is so much fun! There is a QR code in the back that will sing the cutest little song to go along with the book. However, if your kids are anything like mine you should do the song after going through the book. They didn’t want to go to the next page in time with the song, they wanted to keep looking at everything and each one had to take turns counting. This is a perfect book for little kiddos who are learning to count.

I have read a few books from this author and she alway surprises me with her writing. This is the second book to the amazing Love in Emerald Creek series. This book could be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. You are going to fall in love with these characters right from the beginning. I could not put this book down until the end. I can’t wait to see who she will write about next.
Shayna is a single mom and will do anything for her kids. She got out of an abusive marriage and now she has started a new life. Shayna now lives in Emerald Creek and she is loving the small town life. She meets Burke from her best friend and they start a good friendship. Moonlight Drive is a real rollercoaster ride of a book that offers the reader a glimpse into the lives of rock stars. There were a lot of tragic events that take place throughout the book, that may be inappropriate for less mature readers. I found this book entertaining and enlightening on the experiences that musicians must deal with as they navigate the difficulties of stardom. When Dani and Nick meet as children it is such a beautiful start to something so special, it goes beyond a normal friendship. They are there for one another at a time in their childhoods when they are feeling lost and hiding from their dysfunctional family lives. As they reconnect in their adulthood, Nick now Nicki Quick the bass guitarist for a big rock band, and Dani someone who appears on their tour as a groupie. Nicki feels a deep connection to Dani but can’t put his finger on why he feels like he knows her. Dani keeps their past hidden, seeing that Nick who she remembered from her childhood, has changed drastically. As these two come and go throughout their adult lives, they always feel this pull to one another, no matter where they are in their lives or who they may be with. Dani decides one day that it’s time for her to seek out her future and tries to move on. Can Dani and Nick let go of their past and move on or will their bond continue to bring them back to one another? This is an amazing book to read, it does have a lot of adult content, so beware it is not for younger readers, and it does cover a lot of deep issues that are so important to be aware of. I think that the author did an amazing job introducing issues that should be discussed, and she puts a huge focus on reaching out and getting help, and the importance of having close friends and family to be there for you. @Brandy Rymer 06/2024

If you aren’t hooked within the first few pages there is no hope for you. A woman with a burning toaster and a call to the fire department is how it all started and the entertainment doesn’t let up.
Zach a firefighter/medic is the first on the scene to make contact with Libby who has been in town an entire day before this craziness happens.
I loved the boys, they give each other a hard time no matter the reason. But when a girl is involved they all seemed to regress back to being school age boys.
This book was not too long but throughly enjoyable, and how can you go wrong with firefighters?
This is not my first book by Ms. Reed and I can promise I will be reading the rest of this series.

The author writes about an eternal friendship between two women headed in different directions in their lives. One on a path of self discovery and one who feels she has nothing left to give. Ending up on a modified redo of all the places they traveled to together in their 20s. With hopes of recapturing a little bit of what they had back then. Lydia was devastated when she found out Kate tried to end it all. After the loss of her husband and her daughter pushing her away Kate is all she has left. And she wants to help her. However Kate doesn’t want any help. She doesn’t want to move forward. She feels she accomplished everything she set out to do and it’s time to move on before a disease takes her anyway as it did her mother and grandmother before her. Lydia comes up with an idea of an adventure. One with hopes of finding herself and who she truly wants to be. Two to show Kate that she has more purpose in the world. At Kate’s insistence that money isn’t an issue they decide to revisit the 5 places they went to in their 20s. Lydia hopes it’s the beginning of starting over, not realizing Kate’s only doing it for her. What happens on their adventures? Does Lydia discover who she is and what she wants? These women are selfish & stubborn but one thing they do have in common is they love each other fiercely and only want what’s best for the other. It’s a story that reminds the reader of their close friends. For me, my best friend, we’ve gone on trips together and our lives are in different places which is sometimes difficult to understand. But we will always have each other. Like I said before this book reminds us that tomorrow is never promised. So don’t settle. Live your life to the fullest. And never forget to tell your loved ones, that you love them!

Percy owns the local hardware store and is very committed to running it smoothly. His mom and sister are very concerned about his bachelor status. They begin to encourage him to write letters to young ladies to see if he can find “the one” in mail order bride style.
Clara is a teacher who’s also very independent. When a letter arrives from Percy and she begins to get to know him better, she makes the decision to leave her job and go to be near Percy to see if their relationship can go anywhere.
Amelia is a seamstress. She’s very devoted to her craft. She too receives a letter from Percy. Having no family per se to keep her in one pace, Amelia finds herself on a train to meet Percy and possibly start a life together.
When both women show up within days of each other, they are all a bit perplexed at first….
I enjoyed this read very much! It’s a novella that can easily be read in 1-2 settings. This is a clean romance that I could safely recommend to anyone looking for something in this genre. There were a few character flaws (names misattributed, family situations) so just know that going in.

This is my first time reading Dagmara Sitek. I’m sooo happy I did. It has great artwork, the colors really contrast perfectly together and the visual of the main characters’ feelings was excellently done. This book was a great match for tonight’s read as my nephew was in foster care. It was a good representation to show him that he wasn’t alone and not to hold his emotions in, and that it’s okay to let people in. you could he that he was really intrigued while we were reading I look forward to reading more work from this author 😀

I absolutely adored this cute book and had fun reading it with my nephew who is a toddler. We loved that not only did it teach counting, but all of the fun information about sea turtles! The author did it in a way that made learning fun and interactive for him. We also enjoyed the smooth rhyming rhythm of the book; it made reading it out loud fun and enjoyable. The author did a great job of bringing marine life to life in this cute tale. We have already read the story 3 times and he keeps repeating certain phases he learned from the story. Definitely a great book and I can’t wait to see what else the author has written.

I really enjoyed this story! I love how the Dinopotamus did everything and wanted to do everything the kids did! This is definitely a fun story I’m gonna have to show my 3 year old! I really think he would enjoy it!
Kathryn Dodson’s Five Tries to Get It Right is not my typical read of spice, fantasy, or mystery. But, it did not disappoint in the journey. Hitting rather close to home, the story begins when Kate ends up in the hospital after attempting suicide. Her best friend, Lydia, is there to pick up the pieces. A crazy idea surfaces and they begin a journey to five different countries they traveled to in their twenties. The world building in this book is amazing! I felt all of the emotions coursing through me and saw (in my mind) all the wonderful places they visited. The characters are perfectly imperfect and tragically believable. There is so much going on in this story; there’s love, friendship, heartbreak, loss, romance, and mental illness. I love how Dodson explores sensitive topics and urges those who are struggling to seek help. Overall, a great read that will have you turning pages quickly. I can’t wait to read more by Kathryn Dodson.

This is such a great book for young children. I have read several of this authors books and they have all been fantastic to read to my granddaughter. The illustrations are fabulous as always. I really loved how the illustrations in the whole book were all in color crayons. This book teaches some lessons as do her other books. In this book, the dinosaur goes to school with the children and does everything that they do. Some of the things the children do, but the dinosaur can not because of size or other differences. Great read and vibrant colors.

Honestly, this book took me a second to get into. I found it hard to connect with the FMC, but I was solidly invested into the plot. It’s a pretty solid YA read, and I found myself laughing along with the characters as they navigated through the story. I did enjoy it, and I would 100% recommend it to others!

This is the first book in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries. We are introduced to Madame Chalamet, she is a proper, well versed, medium. She can communicate with the dead. The sooner they are dead the better she is able to communicate. She has inherented this trade from her father who was also a jewelry maker. He was murdered and she has been looking into who actually murdered her father. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to go deeper into the characters and more background of Madame Chalamet.

Follow the story or Dinopotamus who goes to school! He is nervous as he looks different and is a different size. He watches what the other kids do and does what they do. Sometimes he can’t always do the same things due to his size but finds he has fun anyway. My 6 year old enjoyed reading this along with me, it was a great lesson about inclusion even when someone looks different. Also the illustrations were done in crayon which I actually found charming. Well done!

A fun counting book. Engaging and fun, this book will have many children counting along. Fantastic illustrations make this book all the more entertaining. Highly recommend all the books in this series of Ocean and Marine Life books.

A fun and engaging read. This book gives readers of all ages interesting facts about animals. We are treated to twenty-six different animals and facts on each one. I enjoyed getting to see the picture of each animal’s nose first and then getting some facts about the animal. It was nice to see different animals for each letter and not just the usual ones that are used in these types of books. The animal facts are interesting and I loved the added weird facts. This is a good book for all animal lovers, young and old.

Ducky is a shifter that lives in the kingdom of shifters under the rule of Lord Kobreon, a vampire by humans naming. Kobreon is set to keep peace between all the kingdoms as he does not want a war between kingdoms. However in his travels it is rumored that he is looking for a bride and that is why he is coming home. This is when Ducky decides she wants to try and get at least a peek at him even though she feels he would want nothing to do with her. Ducky is a duck shifter and according to everyone has no qualities of a good shifter. On her trip to the castle she gets anxious that she will be seen and accidentally shifts into her duck form and is saved and taken into the castle, where Kobreon and his mother begin to fall for this duckling shifter. However she is only known as a shifter to his mother, Kobreon does not yet know. Will Kobreon be able to prevent the war and will he be able to keep his beloved duckling?
I love how the author explains concepts in a very simple way for all to understand the concept of how to not be unproductive and how to beat procrastination and perfectionism. The reading material is very well thought out and uses sources to provide evidence to support her concepts. What I like most is how she provides simple steps for the reader to follow to improve upon their bad habits.
