Alexis Hayes stumbles upon trouble when she is diving. Alexis has to work with Seb who is a Navy Seal to try to stop an evil plot from ruining water sources. Alexis is strong headed but so is Seb. I felt the book moved very slowly but did enjoy it in the end.

Notebook Mysteries: Art of Deception is Book Seven in the Notebook Mysteries Series. It is an historical crime book full of danger, drama, action, adventure, mystery, hidden agendas, intrigue, hidden deception, stolen jewels, and crime. Although this book is part of a series it can easily be read as a standalone. I do, however, recommend reading all the books in this series because it is an amazing series with interesting characters and intriguing storylines. As with all books in the series, this one pulled me right into the story and had me hooked until the end. Our MC, Emma is off on another adventure that involves her ex and his pregnant girlfriend. Emma and her boyfriend Jeremy join forces to hunt down a killer and find a treasure. A great story full of twists and turns and another great addition to this amazing series!

Overall it was good book; it had some very unique aspects that I’ve rarely seen in other books.
Gillian has to venture into the Shadowlands in hopes of finding a cure for her brother. She is then thrown into a very tangled web of power, imprisonment and will. Marius is set on a new mate. Roman tries to be the devoted son that serves his father. Gillian is set on saving her brother and getting back home. Little did she know, things weren’t going to go according to her plan. Gillian has to choose either to succumb to the powerful mind of Marius or to stand firm in herself and overcome the powers working against her. Quickly falling in love with the enemy the entire story takes a dramatic turn. After secretly devising a plan to escape, Gillian is once again able to see her family.
The Rebirth: Part One by Crystal Dawn

Andrea- Loved the idea of going to the planet Amazon where she dedicated her life to finding the door and going through. Once there she meets two men who she has an instant attraction with. Between her training with Marcus and her military training, she fights for the people to help them against Planet Kings, and also in the tournament they have to win Queen slaves.
While this is a quick read, I will not be continuing this series. I love fantasy books, especially romantasy, and while this is a fantasy with lots of fighting (which I love) this book was just not my cup of tea.
Glass Houses by Sinister Styx

This is a novella only for those over 18, with multiple trigger warnings which isn’t for the faint of heart.
A couple in love fall into traps of suspicion and deception and lose trust in each other, this causes a spiral into violence and blood, but will they be able to reconnect, or will the stones they throw break the glass house they are living in?
This is a dark romance with a sprinkling of fantasy as a couple spiral into darkness and try to find their way out.

Alchemy of Glass is a Historical Fantasy that will have you turning the pages till the end. I will be honest and say this book started out so slow and it took me a while to get into the story. I didn’t feel connected to the characters but it could be the mood I was in. I’m going to revisit reading this again at a later time. See how I feel about it then. The storyline flowed but seemed choppy to me at times. The hopping around got tiresome but understand why the story was doing it. I recommend reading this book if you enjoy Fantasy, Sci-Fi. G is for Gossamer: A Children’s SMART & SOPHISTICATED ABC’s Book by Miss Whitaker is an ABC book for young readers who want a little bit of a challenge.
This picturebook is not only pretty, but also educational- offering something more stimulating for the eager learner reader. With beautiful pictures to inspire and capture the imagination- making for stimulating reading.
I thought the illustrations were very beautiful, and looked to see who the artist was- but there is no acknowledgement of an artist- so I have to assume that they are AI generated (and forgive me if I am wrong here), but I really found that to be disappointing, and it’s a real pity, as there are sooo many very talented ‘human’ artists out there that would have done this book justice. I guess I am just ‘old-school’ when it comes down to it…

Wrecked appears to be the first book in The Merciless Few series by S. Courtney. This is a dramatic MC romance with angst, emotion, chemistry, spice, brotherhood, and interesting characters.
This is my first read by Ms. Courtney, so I really didn’t know what to expect from one of her stories- but I love a great MC romance, so I happily snapped up a copy to explore.
While this was well-written, and had all the ingredients I look for in an engrossing read- I just couldn’t find my ‘groove’ with this book- and I’m not entirely sure why. I just couldn’t connect with the MC’s, so that made it difficult to fully invest in them and the outcome of their story, like I was hoping to.
I have put this book aside, to read again in a week or so, to see if I still feel the same way- so stay tuned, as I might have just been having an ‘off’ reading day this time around.
But if you love MC romances, then you might want to grab a copy to explore, and decide for yourself.
Hoping things will ‘click’ for me in Book #2.

Malice is the tenth book in the Demented Souls series by new-to-me author, Melissa Stevens. I have come into this series seriously late, and very backwards it seems, as I had not realised that this is the tenth book in the series until I had already snapped up a copy to dive into. Thankfully, it can be read as a standalone, as each book appears to focus on a different member of the Demented Souls Motorcycle Club. And after reading this, I will definitely be going back to read the previous books and getting to know the Demented Souls brotherhood a lot better.
This is a well-woven and engrossing romantic suspense with drama, danger, intrigue, chemistry, protective Alpha-type MC, a bit of a damsel in distress vibe, humour, banter, emotion, and tension.
Malice has just become a fully patched member of the Demented Souls, while working on the ranch. On a trip to town for supplies, Malice follows his highly-tuned instincts and ends up saving a woman from being abducted in broad daylight. Bonnie’s abusive ex won’t take no for an answer….. so, when things begin to spiral out of control, the story takes a steamy, tense, and intriguing turn.
Well worth the read.

Shadowed Storm is the fourth thrilling instalment in the Shadow Defense Security series by Mavery Ellscott, and my favourite of the series to date.
This is a tense romantic suspense with action, adventure, danger, high stakes, chemistry, agendas, a sinister & powerful foe, twists, intrigue, humour, mystery, emotion, interesting characters, a massive global threat, a race against time, challenges, and so much more — which all added up to a very engrossing read.
I loved all the exciting elements that were woven into this story, it made for a riveting read.
Again, as I have mentioned in previous instalment reviews, this book/series would translate well onto the big screen- and make a great, long-running, television series.
I can’t wait for more Shadow Defense!

Wrecked: The Merciless Few

Ok so this is my first book by this author. I do love a good MC story, and this one is well worth the read. I found this author has a lovely writing style which makes the book so easy to read. What you will also find this book will take you a roller coaster ride with all the twists and turns, you will also find in a lot of places in the book it is fast paced which for me makes it an impressive read. There is so much going on in this book you will be eager to turn the page just to see what happens next. Not only has the author written Raven and Avi’s characters well, but also the other characters in the book have been written just as well. The characters are a bit complex but that only enhances the storyline of the book. So, you have Reaper who has been totally heartbroken thanks to his ex-girlfriend cheating on him, so he is in no way looking to be in another relationship. Then unexpectedly Avi and her daughter start to bring some sunshine back into his life. As Reaper and Avi get closer, he decides there is nothing he would not do for her and her daughter and as such he will now protect them. This book is a nice somewhat quick read, and I do recommend its read if you like a good MC storyline.

I was a little lost starting this book, but it is probably more to do with me starting here and not at the beginning, once I got into the storyline of the book, I only put it down when I had to. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I have to say because of the writing style I found this book easy to read. I do not tend to read a lot of vampire stories, but I am glad I decided to give this book a go. This book the main characters are Bistrita and Chara. I did find that these two characters were a little repetitive in the way they spoke to each other, but for me it did not spoil their storyline. I also liked how strong both Bistrita and Chara’s characters were as strong as each other. To finish this book is fast paced, has quite a bit action, which I hope will keep you interested in the story.

Murder the Tey Way by Marilyn Levinson is the second book in the Golden Age of Mystery Bookclub series. It follows Dr. and Professor Lexie Driscoll as she tries to solve the murder of a man found dead in her backyard. Months after moving in and without a clear knowledge of the people around her, Lexie searchs for answers. This book also contains a little bit of romance and a lot of secrects. Just like book 1, this book is perfect if you’re looking for a quick whodunit mystery with a strong female lead. Definitely meant to be read as a series as events build and old characters pop back up.

In this book, we follow Tessa and James as they try to solve a stalking case. Tessa, part-owner and head baker of Cake Me Home Tonight, has been receiving concerning letters for weeks. When they start to include peeping Tom photos, she hires James and his detective agency to help. As the stalker gets bolder, James and Tessa also fight a growing attraction. This clean mystery was well-paced with relatable characters. Grab your tea and head to London to solve the case!

This is the first book that I have read by the author Sinister Styx, and my thoughts are in the middle, not necessarily “bad” but also not great. This book is EXTREMELY fast-paced and short, it only took me about 10-15 minutes to read the entire novella. The length and speed did not bother me too much, except that I just wish there was ‘more’ as I felt like there was just something missing throughout the entire book, but, I can’t place exactly what it is. The book was very concise and jumped right into the plot, but I felt there just was not enough description to fully grasp and hold my attention. There are a bunch of twists and turns and I was pleasantly surprised by the ending.
Falcon and Ivy’s relationship is cursed/doomed from the start, even though they do truly love each other. Ivy just wants everything to go back to normal, to go back to the time before she began to question her husband’s fidelity, but is that even possible? The book felt very similar to Romeo & Juliet, featuring jealous lovers, betrayal, love and revenge. Falcon does not take Ivy’s accusations lightly and things go up into flames and spiral out of control very quickly. Will Ivy and Flacon receive the blessed happily ever after that they both want or will their marriage be destroyed beyond repair?
Considering this is a dark romance and very graphic, please make sure to read the trigger warnings beforehand. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves dark romance and may want a pallet/mind cleanser between other books. Also, because it is such a fast-paced book it would be perfect read if it is one of those weeks where you want to read, but you are struggling to actually maintain focus.

My 7 year old son and I love reading the Oscar and Emmy series. We have read quite a few of them now. There are always some great lessons included in the cute story. This story is packed full of great information about cats and how to take care of them. It also has some great information about what vets do to help cats stay healthy. I love how at the end of each book, there is useful guides about cats and what to do with them.

Oscar and Emmy go on an adventure to Grandma’s house when Abby and Charlie go on vacation with their parents. I read this with my 7 year old and he liked learning about how cats can be nervous and unsure in new surroundings just like people can. We see what Oscar, Emmy and Grandma get up to while their family is gone. We also see something serious happen. What are grandma and the kitties wearing when the family comes back to pick up the kitties? Read to find out!
No One Could See the Flea by Tricia Gardella

This is a cute story about kids who misunderstand something. I read this with my 7 year old and we both enjoyed it. A boy sees his dog scratch himself and instantly think his pup has fleas. Despite not being able to see any fleas, he still thinks he has one. He tries everything he can think of to get rid of the fleas. As friends come along, they also try to help. Did the pup really have fleas? Find out if any of these crazy ways the kids come up with helps the dog stop scratching.

Excellent! I really enjoyed this dark, paranormal romance! The author writes a seamless story that is engaging and easily flows. The characters and story really come alive through the writing and keeps the reader turning the pages. This is told from alternating points of view following main characters of Greer and Theron—whose stories intertwine. They are an odd pairing of characters, but I was intoxicated with reading their story and really loved the development of each of them. I also quite enjoyed the setting, both the time period and the city of New Orleans within that time period. I was unaware of the story of the casket girls prior to reading this, but I really enjoyed the take on those stories. This was an out of this world read that I highly recommend!

I enjoyed reading this MC romance story. I enjoyed how the author used details to pull me into the character’s world from the start. This is a story about Reaper and how his life has turned upside down until he meets her and her daughter. What happens with them is something you don’t want to miss. If he opens up to her, will he become more wrecked? They are great connectable characters that made this story easy to read. They are relatable and have great growth throughout the story. They kept the story engaging and had me coming back for more. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story. I look forward to seeing what is next for this author. I highly recommend this book.

The only bad thing about Wildfire Knockout wa that it was a novella and it ended way too soon. I’m so glad to finally read about Beth and everything she had been through in her life. She will never be alone again because now she has KC, Chamberlain and Scott in her corner supporting her every step of the way.
Beth and Scott grow close as they are on the road together a lot and spend alot of time together but, Beth is a tough nut to crack. Wheel of Evil by N.L. Holmes

Wheel of Evil is the third book in the Hani’s Daughter Mystery series, but the first of the series that I have read so far. It was very intriguing to read as the tale unfolds and the mystery thickens as to who is behind the scheme leading to several investors’ deaths. As our main character’s uncle gets involved, it leads her, along with her friends and family, to get to the bottom of what’s going on before her uncle meets his demise. This book was exciting to read and had a lot of thrilling events take place that keep you guessing what may befall our main character next. As the main character gets closer and closer to uncovering the answers that she is seeking, she finds herself in a very dangerous situation. Will her friends and family be able to help her, or will they find out what they need to know after it is too late? If you love to read a book full of action and love the thrill of trying to solve a good mystery, then this is the series for you! Happy reading, I hope you enjoy the adventure.

Malice by Melissa Stevens

I enjoyed reading this MC romance story. This is part of a series that can be read as a stand alone. I look forward to reading more from this series in the future. This is a well written story about Bonnie and Malice. He has just recently been patched into the MC. She has just broken up with her ex but the problem is that he won’t take no for an answer. What happens when Malice runs her ex off? Bonnie is intrigued by him but will she learn that it is okay to trust a man again? I enjoyed both of these characters. Their chemistry and attraction to each other is great. They have great growth throughout the story which makes it easy to read. I enjoyed how they brought the story to life and had me coming back for more. This is a fast paced, hard to put down story. It is engaging and one you don’t want to miss what happens between Bonnie and Malice. I really enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it.

Oscar and Emmy get taking to the vet for a checkup, with their owners helping them through the visit each cat acts differently to the exam. I really enjoy these books I think they are great for children and engages them into having a dialogue about pet care. Another great book in this series.

Glass Houses by Sinister Styx is a quick but fascinating read. It really roped me right in, and while it’s easy to read in one sitting, it was enthralling. I definitely would love to see more if these characters and the cycle they’ve been set in! An intriguing and interesting read that reminded me of Romeo and Juliet. This is a new author for me, and I definitely want to see more!

The Veil by Karli Rush is a dystopian fantasy following an earthquake that alters everything. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Selene traverses the chaos that is now her hometown. Next a haziness seeps in, but it is not like a typical fog or like anything anyone has ever seen. The sinister Veil is a place of nightmares, menacing creatures and screams of agony lurk therein. Rayden, Selene’s boyfriend is entrapped on the other side. Will Selene be able to save him…will she even be able to save herself? This book is full of non-stop action, twists and turns, and danger at every corner. The characters are believable and I love that the focus is on a strong female heroine. The scenery and the world that is pictured is nothing like we have seen before, somewhere between Earth and Hell. I love the descriptive scenes that put you into the plot and make you feel for the characters as they traverse this unknown world. I would say this is a fun read for anyone that enjoys dystopian fantasy.
