Oooo, this one will sneak up on you. While this is the first book, I have read by Bree M. Lewandowski I can promise its just the beginning of a beautiful future. This is a slow burn but is a mix of so many things in one, fantasy, romance, some spice, and of course mystery and so much more. Petra goes to the royal city for one purpose and one purpose only, to discover the truth about her brother’s sudden death and clear his name so that his memory can be free. Things don’t start out the greatest but one moment of breaking the rules to get some fresh air and sit upright sets everything in motion. In one night, she is suddenly in the courier robes she had been working towards, delivers not one but two scrolls, given two rewards and meets the captivating Captain Rand. She adds vows to herself for things such she wants to achieve, such as getting her friend Winfred out of the washing house and away from the “Pod”. When an ancient incantation links Petra and Rand’s fates together everything begins to shift. Who is responsible for her brother’s death? What does her fate with Rand mean for them? The slow beginning builds up so much of the world and where Petra enters it. Going through her integration into the Cloistered City and trying to rise while searching for answers. The sudden end made my heart drop and my soul weep a little as I wanted more. No, I need more. Sending out all the good vibes into the universe that Bree will make this at least a duology to give us more, to answer the questions left in our minds and to see how Petra and Rand evolve after what’s happened.

I hadn’t read anything by this author before, but I’m always looking for new books to read with my kiddos so we gave it a shot. I’m beyond happy that I picked it up because it is fabulous! The illustrations are fun, vivid, and eye-catching. They helped hold my youngest kiddos attention really well as he tends to wander. We get to learn about Donut, who has been sad since her best friend moved away. She notices a neighbor squirrel, Peanut, and wonders if they can be friends. Every time she tries to start a conversation, the squirrel doesn’t give her a chance and just runs away. Bobo the Bluebird comes by to give Donut some sage advice and it is so good that it might be enough to turn everything around! This book sparked some beautiful conversations around behavior and how perception changes from person to person. I truly loved the information about Social Emotion Learning in the back of the book because it is very helpful. This is a cute and educational addition to your library!

I’ve read the previous two novels in this series and definitely felt the need to continue onto the next one. For readers who enjoy clean romance involvements, relatable characters and small country town vibes, this book and series is the right fit for you! I love reading the romantic connections in the past novels so I was looking forward to seeing which characters were involved in this third installment and how their story aligns in this small Montana town. Joe, a local teacher and historian, has a liking for everyone in Herd except for Abby.Abby owns a food truck and has been hiding a secret and time is ticking in making a major life decision. A love/hate relationship emerges between Abby and Joe but with Abby’s secret, it can either make it or destroy what they have. One thing I admired about this couple is the awkwardness that something comes into play where things need to be dealt with and not ignored. Those moments where it can make or break the relationship. Characters show their true colors to test whether this is what they want for their future.

This author became a quick favorite in our household, so I get excited any time I see a new book from them. We also absolutely adore Halloween which meant we jumped for joy when we saw this story! Gadrella loves being a witch, but she’s tired of everything staying the same. The black hats, black cats, and broom are all starting to be a little too boring. She decides that she is going to follow her instincts and wear what she loves even if it is out of the ordinary. The underlying messages throughout the story are beautiful, encouraging the reader to embrace what makes them different and trust themselves. Gadrella decides to show her friends these changes, but how will they react? I also loved the illustrations which added a spunky and fun layer to an already wonderful book. This would make a beautiful addition to any home, school, or classroom library!
What are you best at? Several friends investigate this question in this very inspiring read. One might not find a way to walk on lava but how about helping someone tie their shoes? That would show a kindness that is rarely found these days.
This is a great read but I do disagree with the last two pages of this book. I do not believe that everyone deserves a trophy in life. Other than that, this was a very enjoyable read.

Ink and Intrigue at Ivy Tree Inn by Ellen Butler is an intriguing, attention stealing murder mystery, and the first book in the Ariadne Winters Mystery Series. Set in the late 50’s, following a up and coming journalist named Ariadne. There’s plenty of characters and their different POV’s, and if you aren’t paying attention those twists will throw you for such a loop! I genuinely enjoyed putting this mystery together, and I greatly look forward to reading more from Ellen!

This was my first venture into this author’s work, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The cover looked intriguing, so I took a shot and picked it up. It was absolutely marvelous! It is the first book in the Colten Fen series, and it really started off incredibly strong. I enjoy everything paranormal which made this werewolf detective story perfect for me! It felt like the author kept closer to the werewolf lore as well which gained quite the brownie points. The story flows flawlessly as the characters develop at a very natural pace. The setting is richly crafted as the author skillfully merges the eerie allure of the supernatural with the rugged reality of 1893. The descriptions are vivid, pulling readers into the strange world where the mundane collides with the magical in unsettling ways. The trio consist of Mary, Colten, and Rennick who complement each other well with their witty bantering and entertaining bickering. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to immerse themselves in a world that is both familiar and astonishingly new. I am eagerly awaiting the next installment!

I’ve said it before with the other books in this series but will say it again, Rosalind’s descriptive narrative paints a vivid picture of the life and times and makes it easy for us as readers to see come to life. Sparky has had many adventures that have always led to mischief, mayhem and murder and this time it is no different except she has decided to stow away on a ship and her friends are nowhere in sight. When Sparky is discovered, she comes face to face with a group of disgruntled ex-silent movie actors anyone of which could be a killer. Let the fun begin.

The story has a strong emotional core that allows us to connect with the characters and become emotionally invested in their story. Anna is fiercely loyal and cares. Promises have been ripped away and she will fight for what she thinks is right be damned who gets in her way. Hunter’s father is a menace and king of hostile take overs. He doesn’t care as he rips his way through organisations leaving Hunter to try to clean ups his messes. For some reason this time is different. Secrets from their past come back to haunt them and may just destroy everything they have built. This engaging and compelling contemporary romance tale a bit of everything to keep the pages turning. 4.5 stars I really enjoy Robert’s writing, especially his irreverent black humour, and his latest book, The Waydowns, did not disappoint. It’s the third book in The Cool Thing Science Fiction series, but each book can be read on its own. The story is full of mayhem and madness, which I found delightful. It’s a unique blend of dark comedy, horror, sci-fi, and paranormal elements, with plenty of suspense and tension. I couldn’t put it down and didn’t want it to end. The tale is so unpredictable and wild that there’s no telling which way is up or down. It’s a disturbing, absurd, and thrilling ride that I highly recommend. Make sure to grab a copy and prepare for a zany walk into a nightmare of epic proportions. Beneath all the craziness, there’s a strong connection to the characters and their emotions, which ties everything together.

Each day Peanut runs away making Donut sad. Later a bird named Bobo speaks with Donut to share how Peanut is actually scared of them and why. In the end Donut finally makes friends with not only Peanut but Bobo too!
This book breaks down how sometimes our best intentions can be viewed differently from another person. We might not always see this and sometimes looking at it differently can help us.

This is a cute little rhyming book. I really enjoyed watching Luca think of all the things that could go wrong if he actually ate glue. The book had me smiling all the way through. I enjoyed the book and I think many kids would enjoy it as well. I recommend this book to everyone who has children who love reading.
A Safe Place (Philly Heat Series) by Becky Flade. I loved this book. Its a short romantic suspense and it will keep you flipping the pages until you are done. It’s the story of Kat who finds herself homeless after her guardian grandmother passed away. Kat then ends up in a horrible situation with her foster family so she runs away. While running away Kat ends up in jail and they call Maddi in to be her social worker and to try to reunite her with her brother Nate who is in the services in the Middle East. Maddi takes Kat in and tries to help her all she can and when Nate comes back they try to take care of Kat the best they can. Kat ends up seeing a crime committed and is basically being hunted by the criminals to get rid of her. Nate and Maddi are fighting feelings for each other while they are doing everything they can to keep Kat safe. This is such a good read. I enjoyed every word!
A Tale of Two Crushes by Cori Cooper. This is such a cute young adult romance. Its the story of Holland a high school student who has to move to a new school and at her old school she has never met a boy she really liked. On her first day at her new school she meets Asher and he is everything her dream boyfriend would be. She is in love. Then a few days later her locker gets stuck and hunky guy named Chandler helps her get it unstuck. She is smitten with Chandler as well. She is amazed that she is in love with two perfect guys already. Then Holland finds out they are fraternal twins throwing a wrench in the whole situation. Trying to decide between the boys is almost impossible but she sets out to try to pick one. Along the way she has some family drama and dealing with that takes her head out of the boyfriend situation. Which twin will Holland pick? Read this sweet love story to find out!

Having read Masquerade, I was excited to read another book from this series. I somehow ended up with the third book, instead of the second, but it did not spoil the enjoyment of reading. As with the first book, I loved the characters in this one. Their connection was instant and undeniable. They drew me in from the word go and really are what this story is all about for me. I thought the story matched their personalities as well. It was an enjoyable read that was well written and engaging. I though the author did a great job of keeping your interest, as a reader. Having read two books in the series, I will definitely be going back to read book number 2!

When I read the description for this book I was intrigued by what the story would involve and knew I had to see what it had in store. I was immediately pulled into the story by the characters. They both had so much about them and I really enjoyed watching their connection develop. They had a really strong chemistry which was fantastic to read. The story itself was really good. The blurb was a little confusing so I was pleased to see that the story was actually well developed and clear. This is a fantastic story of kindness. Not just being kind but helping whenever a need arises. Children learn kindness, but it has to come from our parents first. Once the example is set, our children will be sure to follow. This is such a great story. It is well written and easy for our children to follow. The examples are simple yet something we see daily. The author has done a fantastic job with this story. It is a must have for all libraries.

This is a really good book. I feel like the author was able to cram so much information into this book, that it really could have lasted longer. It is a very quick read and an amazing short story. There is so much depth logged onto the pages that you don’t really notice how short of a story it is. This book will definitely leave you craving for more. There are so many different paranormal things happening in this book that it could really take you anywhere at any given moment. There are vampires, werewolves, witches and romance. The magic that these characters have and the suspense that they are involved in is what kept me turning the pages. The romance didn’t feel forced but really flowed well with the story line. This book kept me wanting more. I could have a little more spice but spice isn’t for everyone. Parts of the book were hard for me to follow but it turned around and I enjoyed it. Anna and Hunter both want to protect their hearts- what they don’t realize is they want the same thing! It was definitely a SLOW burn of a romance but once we got there is was good! You Really Can’t Judge a BooThe bright beautiful colors of Raines’ new book, Betrayal, belies the complex subject matter that awaits inside. Anne Turner and Hunter Thompson are thrown together during a philanthropic project – Anne hopes to open a daycare center for her employer and Thompson holds the deed to the proposed site. Their attraction is immediate, but both, having been deeply scarred by the impact of their respective fathers (in Hunter’s case, some descriptions may be triggering for the reader), and in Anne’s case compounded by the death of a dear friend as well. And yet again Robert Rife blows me away. This book gives us horror, this book gives us comedy. I love how one second, I am laughing and the next I am gasping in disbelief. Rife has the knack to give us the best cliffhangers, the gore of the dark parts, and characters that have grown and make you want to read more about them each time they enter the storyline. While I love the original characters, we get some new ones that truly help make the story too. I think Rife gives us reasons to never by a house with the UFO underneath it and make sure your house is COMPLETELY empty. I would give more details but truly feel the readers have to dive in just like I did! WOW!

This book was unlike anything I have ever read, by giving us a dark humor. You are pulled into the story with romance, comedy, spookiness, and plot that truly will want you to never stop reading. An odd couple find a buried UFO and decide to make a little money off the discovery. This will lead them into a spiral of l situation that will make you laugh and make you gasp.
Robert Rife, the dark humor, the character development, that whole plot of this book, grab you. Each character that you have created are unique and well narrated to us. This book truly keeps you engaged from the first page to the last! I CAN NOT wait to read more!

Niko is struggling in his life, nearing his Hockey career and with his custody battle for his daughter life is getting difficult, so when he is chosen for the All Stars game he lets loose one night and meets a woman of his dreams.
Chole feels like she is in limbo at the moment, middle age has crept up on her, so when she is invited to go to the All Stars competition she jumps at the chance and decides to let caution to the wind. That’s when she meets him and the kiss they shared is on her mind all the time but when she decides to move to live near her dad and then it gets interesting, she sees the man she can’t stop thinking about but he is one of her dad’s players.
Niko finds out that the woman he has been dreaming about from Toronto is here in Tampa and is his coaches daughter which is a big NO, but as they get on and he gets more entangled with his custody battle the only solution is that Chole becomes his daughter’s Nanny but living together sparks start flying and can they keep there hands off each other.
This is the third book in this series and is just as good as the others. I love the style of writing and the stories are always fun and draws you in from the beginning. The characters are brilliantly developed and I loved these two as they complimented each other brilliantly and with the challenges between themselves and other character is brilliant to read.
The story flows through and is a heart warming romance with some twists but overall you will be rushing to turn the pages to finish the book in hours.
Thank you for these characters as a middle aged woman in the hot flash phase they are a joy to read.
