KD Sherrinford was born and raised in Preston, Lancashire in the UK. She  now lives on The Fylde Coast with her husband and two children. An avid reader from an early age, KD loved the mystery writers, Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie Were her favorites.  After a varied career working with thoroughbred horses KD decided to  mix things up and joined Countrywide Estate Agents, where she was employed for over twenty years and became a Fellow of The National Association of Estate Agents. Early retirement finally gave KD time and opportunity to realize her dreams to become a professional writer. Fascinated by the iconic character Irene Adler, she felt disappointed when Irene failed to appear in any further Doyle stories after “ A Scandal in Bohemia” She waited years for someone to write a pastiche about the brooding detective and the acclaimed controlto. The ones that did merely skirted around the subject, without exploring its depths and endless possibilities. So encouraged by her daughter Katie after an impromptu visit to The Sherlock Holmes Museum in London, October 2019. KD decided to start work on her adaptation. Her multi-award winning debt novel “ Song for Someone” was published by Extasy Books in November 2022. The book was awarded several accolades, including The Editors Gold Seal. Crimson Quill Nominee, Shortlisted at the Ciba Series Book Awards, Finalist at The Chanticleer International Book Awards and Top Read Award at Author Shout. “ Song for Someone” was described by The Historical Fiction Company as an evocative masterpiece, that masterfully  intwines the nuances of Historical Fiction, mystery and romance, into a book that stands out in Contemporary Literature. Books 2 and 3 in this exciting series , the Novellas“ Christmas at The Saporis and “ Meet Me in Milan” were recently Shortlised at Chanticlleer  for the short story  category.
