This story mostly follows Lottie, a female lawyer working for a corrupt justice, and how her life intertwines with an historic murder trial involving gangsters and police taking bribes. Lottie is bisexual, but must maintain a conservative appearance for her job. Once the trial gets assigned to her justice, she and her friends begin working behind the scenes to uncover who’s behind a blackmailing plot to manipulate the court proceedings and outcome. The characters are fun and interesting, and I enjoyed the historical tale.
I’m becoming a huge fan of Via Mari’s work. This story features vivid imagery, detailed characterisation, and shocking plot twists. The romance is intense, the chemistry is off the scale. This book will keep you gripped, with its themes of tension, betrayal, and deception throughout. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Enemies to lovers This was a very entertaining read. With lots of laugh out loud moments, this romantic comedy will appeal to a wide audience. With relatable characters who say it as it is and a good balance of drama, angst and romance I had a really good time reading this book. Hudson and Georgia were so opposite that when the chemistry started to click it made for a bit of heat. Looking forward to seeing more from this author.

This book was a really good one. This author is one of those ones that I never hesitate to pick up because I have every book I have read by them. Their writing style is good and it was well written and the main characters were awesome! Two very different people in two very different worlds but I was rooting for their happily ever after the whole time! I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future. Happy Reading!

Borrowed Time by Lane Cohen was fantastic. A great mix of sci-fi and westerns. I enjoyed the lessons along the way. There’s so much that goes into stories of time travel. How one little decision can change everything. Should you tamper with the past and how does it affect the future? The characters in this story must face these decisions and deal with the consequences of messing with time. The cover art is beautiful and eye catching. I also enjoyed the quotes in between chapters.

If you are not reading these authors, I don’t know how to help you. This book just goes to show the continued brilliance of the authors. The drama, the characters, the intensity, the story….there isn’t much about this book not to like. Okay, so there were a few minor things, IMO. I like more dialogue between characters, but not distracting. The other thing was the way things ended with Gio. No spoilers here….just a little anticlimactic for me. I can see all kinds of reasons to do it that way, such as showing that Damian wasn’t like Gio, such as saving Damian’s soul. I totally get it.
FYI, totally love “Hus-Ben”!!!!!! That is the cutest, bestest nickname ever!!

Just One More Egg is a heartwarming story about Mama Warbler who takes care of another bird’s egg after they drop it in her nest. Other birds tell her to get rid of the egg, but she doesn’t mind keeping it, after all, it is just one more egg. The book teaches a wonderful moral about helping others, even when you do not have to. Lois Wickstrom created a sweet children’s book. This would be great for teaching social skills in the classroom or daycare. This book has beautiful illustrations created by Francie Mion that bring the story to life.

This romantic comedy was sweet and fun to read. I love the cover of the book and it drew me in instantly and a story that I needed to curl up to after a long week….
Georgia is a spunky, business owner of Celestial Pets …. who also takes the world on her shoulders. Georgia tries to also help save a local pet shelter while making cute costumes for pet owners…while balancing a big increase in her rental space. Hudson Holm is all business… trying to clean up the aftermath after a fallout at the pet shelter and rent increases… while trying to take care of a cat named Oliver. When Georgia is paired up with Hudson for a social media frenzy that you need to use your pet while conversing… the fun begins. Hudson has Oliver the cat while Georgia has Cookie her dog. The banter back and forth….and not knowing they know each otherwise… what happens when Georgia finds out that Hudson is partly responsible with the rental increases and the pet shelter losing their space?
I loved Georgia’s character as I can totally relate trying to take care of everyone even at times of struggle.

Breathe Underwater is a mafia romance. At the beginning of this story, you learn about a mismatched companionship between Evelyn and Damian. Evelyn is tutoring Damian and the two build a young kinship of “romance” but it is quickly put out due to Evelyn’s controlling father. Her father convinces Damian to leave and never look back. Unfortunately due to the father’s weight within Texas, he is left with no choice. However, each one is left a little brokenhearted, not really understanding what has taken place. 13 years later, Evelyn is a professor and living an independent life, and Damian is moving back to Texas, the state that haunts his past. Damian is coming back, but as a different person with a new last name because he is working undercover as a mafia son. When the two of them finally meet again after so long, there is a lot of misunderstanding and confusion. Evelyn wants answers to why she was left so brokenhearted. She follows him to Italy, while he is there on business. She begins to learn that he is not the same person she once knew, but she still has a connection to him that she can’t let go of. They both know that this relationship can’t be more because of the position Damian is in. They are connecting in a web of so many lies, but can’t seem to resist the pull to each other. Can they find a way to have what they want without anyone getting hurt, or worse killed?

This was a really good read! I wasn’t exactly expecting a sequel from the first book so this was a surprise. Some of the mathematics and science confused me, but overall it was very easy to read! I enjoyed being back in this little strange world that the two main characters happened upon in the first book. And according to the ending there’s going to be a third one, so I am excited to see how this trilogy ends!

Harper has been in a few relationships that were semi-serious or at least headed that direction until she discovered the guys were only after her brothers trust fund. There’s something about time travel books that always get me thinking. What would I do if I was able to go back in time? Borrowed time sure had me hooked. This Sci-fi story has so much depth to it – historical moments, moral consequences, action, relationships, and so much more. The characters were well written and easy to relate to because many of us wonder if time travel can really happen and if so, how might we make it better or worse by our actions. I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author who is new to me.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the authors. Breathe Underwater is a great read and I loved every minute of it. Everything was great about this book.
Damian goes undercover with the mob and there his life changes. Dallas is the last place he wants to be. The he remembers Evie. Can he let her go? The quote I chose for Damian is: “I can barely wait another second to get you into bed, baby. Once we get upstairs, I’m going to f*** all this restless energy out of me. Be ready because I can’t promise I will be gentle.”
Evelyn is missing Damian. Then she cleans out his parents house and has to go see him. When she gets there things change for the both them. The quote I chose for Evelyn is: “Hi. Um, I was cleaning the picture frames from your parents’ house and I found something. There was a small key taped to one of the frames. I’ve never seen one like this. I obviously don’t need it, so…”

Hate You Later was a sweet, cute rom-com. I mean, seriously, how can you go wrong when pets are involved???
Georgia is a tiny little thing, but don’t let her size fool you. She literally packs a punch…just ask the younger Holm brother, Bryce. Underneath her tough exterior lies a heart of gold who adores animals and will do anything and everything in her power to save the pet shelter that is in danger of closing because of the Holm family.
Hudson is in town trying to fix the PR mess his younger brother has created. While he might share the last name with his brother, Bryce, he is certainly nothing like him. He has no intention of sticking around for too long. He wants to fix the problem and leave. But, he didn’t expect his encounter with Georgia would change everything for him.
As you can probably guess, these two clash in a big way. Yet, underneath the animosity lies some pretty powerful chemistry and attraction. Both are vying for a pet influencer prize in a contest, and neither suspects that they are chatting with each other online as their pets. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen when they learned each others’ true identities. It was well worth the wait!!!
This read had everything I was looking for…sexy banter, humor, a sweet HEA, and dogs and cats! If you are looking for a light-hearted romance, you can’t go wrong with this one!!!

I love Georgia! I picked this book because of the animals and they are usually the ones I tend to love the most. As much as I love Cookie and Oliver, they don’t get first place this time.
Georgia is not afraid of anyone, but will not ask for help. But that is the way people who had to grow up way too fast tend to be and that is something that connected us for sure.
Hudson isn’t as bad as I had thought at the being. Was prepared for him to be a rich jerk who throws his money in everyone’s face but that wasn’t him.
Georgia and her friendship with Kenna is a lot like the one with my best friend and that made me love them all the more.

Hate You Later: Lit Lovers Series #1 by Ciara Blume
This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Hate You Later is the first book in the Lit Lovers Series. Hate You Later is a great read. I didn’t put it down until I was done with it. I didn’t realize that it was a fast read.
Georgia is a small business owner and going through a rent hike. She punches one brother and literally runs into the other. Then she realizes that her buddy is the one person she despises. The quote I chose for Georgia is: “I didn’t sleep great last night. Nothing that a little bit of Kenna’s coffee can’t fix right up. I see you’ve both met Emily?”
Hudson is back in town to clean up his step brother’s mess. Little does he know that there is more than one mess. He then meets Georgia and finds that he can’t keep his mind off her. The quote I chose for Hudson is: “Is there anything else I need to know about? Any other surprise ‘executive’ decisions you’ve made? You left me the contact info for the foreman and copies of all the documents for the permits?”

There also something going on with Evelyn but is she willing to open up or does she stay closed off. That’s what I like about this story, the authors really found a way to relate to everyone in this book. I really hope that there is more stories like this one from Anise and Taylor.

This is the second book in the series “Fae and Crystal Thorns”, and it is everything I hoped for mixed with twists and turns I did not expect! Chloe and Quintus, I enjoyed thoroughly, I loved how their relationship evolved and how it also affected how they were to other people as well. I loved Chloe’s character development the most, and Kay L. Moody did an excellent job at showcasing her journey throughout the book and why her personality as well as character traits were changing. For the most part of the book, everyone including Chloe and Quintus are trying to figure out how to beat the mortals and save Farie from iron poisoning. Not only will saving Faerie help the Fae, but it will also help the mortal realm where people, including Chloe’s sister, are feeling iron poisoning, but have no help of a cure. Lots of action, mystery, and some romance! Can’t wait to see what is in store for everyone in book three.

This story really captivated me. It flowed nicely and was very well written. I really enjoyed this book. I was cracking up quite often late at night when I normally do my reading. I woke my cat up a few times. I love how fast paced it is. The characters are all loveable. It was a really great fantasy adventure story.
This was an fast paced intense sci-fi mystery. Dex thought the most difficult part of his life was finding a better paying job outside the car dealership and then a silver eyes man shows up. Little does he know that was the start of a series of life changing events. This was a book that made you wonder what else is out there and if there are other worlds. This was certainly a hard book to put down and each chapter brought more uncertainty. There was minimal character development but I really felt like I got to know each character and was rooting for their victory or loss. Ending was not what I was expecting and not sure if there are plans for a second book but it left it open to another.
This is the 2nd book so I don’t know if I would have learned more or liked the book more if I had read the first one. However, this seemed to be standalone so It was a completed book I felt. I loved the plot and the summary of the book. That was what drew me in. It teased suspense and drama and a torrid past. However, when diving into the book I was disappointed and not as “wowed” as I would have liked to have been. There are some taboo subjects that talk of rape, sex trafficking, and trauma caused by it. Kate is intriguing and brings the story together. It picked up the pace and continued to keep me interested enough to finish it and read it. T Overall I would recommend this for a thriller and an interesting book.

This book is full of emotion, action, danger, betrayals, steamy moments, and great characters. Once I picked up this book I had a hard time putting it down. Damian and Evelyn have been through so much in their past and it has affected their decisions and where their life has led them. The chemistry between these two is off the charts but there are some obstacles in their way. This is an intriguing and entertaining story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story.

Georgia owns a small town pet store and has entered into a Pet Influencer contest with her dog, Cookie. Hudson’s family owns a large company that owns the building Georgia’s shop rents, and has just raised the rent. He, too, has entered the contest but with his cat, Oliver. Coincidentally, they have been paired up in the contest. The two keep running into each other but Hudson’s business threatens Georgia’s business. With Georgia’s hatred of Hudson’s family and their business, the sparks that are flying are either love or hate. Opinion This is definitely a “meet cute’ book. With the two bumping into each other constantly, the reader sits on the edge waiting for them to realize who the other one is. Laughter and frustration are certain while reading this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves cute love stories.

Shadow and Crystal Thorns (Fae and Crystal Thorns #2) by Kay L. Moody
This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Shadow and Crystal Thorns is the second book in the Fae and Crystal Thorns Series. This book is an amazing read and I really had a hard time putting it down. I was entrapped from the first sentence.
Chloe is mortal and back with her sister. Things aren’t going well for the land and she wants to figure it out. She and Quintus are bonded and she’s trying to find a way to break the bond. The quote I chose for Chloe is: “We can’t do nothing. We have to at least stop the mortals from attacking again and from destroying the land even more.”
Quintus is falling for Chloe and knows that she plans on going back to the mortal world. He’s hoping to change her mind about that. Will they be able to save the land? The quote I chose for Quintus is: “Perhaps a cushion is the wrong thing to craft. Maybe you need a device that can absorb your weight and move with your leg before your leg ever reaches the top of the wooden foot. A spring might work, or something like it.”

An enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy which had me happily turning the pages. This was a lighthearted and heartwarming story, with a twist on the enemies to lovers theme, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Georgia Starr is dedicated to saving strays, and will do anything to rescue the pet shelter which is being threatened by the Holm family. Georgia comes up with the idea of dressing up her adorable, but goofy boxer mutt and making him a viral sensation, in order to save the shelter. Hudson Holm is dealing with the fallout from booting the pet shelter, when he comes up with an idea to fix his family’s PR problems. His plan involves turning the Persian cat who he’s cat sitting for into an online celebrity. Every time Georgia and Hudson meet in person they can’t deny their mutual attraction but they also clash, a bit like cats and dogs! What they don’t know is that they have been chatting happily online, just as their pets. However, once their identities are revealed will they stay as enemies of become lovers. This story had a real feel good factor, with some great characters, especially Georgia and Hudson, who’s chemistry really came across in the narrative. The animal characters were just as likeable as their owners, and the storyline flowed well. It had some real laugh out loud moments as well as some drama and of course plenty of romance. I definitely recommend this story.

Amber Stone is starting a new job in Seattle, Wa. Amber finds a kinship with Chloe who she meets when she arrives for her job as curator of the Natural History Museum. What Amber doesn’t realize is that she is part of an ancient prophecy life as she knows it is about to implode and it will have strings to Chloe and several others.
There is a lot that goes on in this book. I thought it was very well written, hops around a bit in different time frames to give a full idea of what all has happened since the time of the prophecy to current. I thought this was quite different then what I ordinarily read and I enjoyed it. There is so much to this story that I did not delve into as it keeps you guessing.
