Notebook Mysteries ~Emma is the first book in the Notebook Mysteries Series. I’m a huge fan of Historical Cozy Mystery and this author knocked it out of the park. I was pulled in from the beginning and found myself lost in the pages of this wonderfully written mystery. Emma is a young woman who works at the family bakery but what she really wants is something more adventurous. When a opportunity presents for her to help the boys on the delivery wagons she takes it. Emma finds herself being pulled into case after case each one seems more complicated than the last. What will happen when her family gets pulled in? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading many more books by this author.

Emma Evans is working within her family’s bakery but is fed up and bored, seeing the things the delivery boys get up to she convinces her father to go into the delivery side and that’s when it all explodes into action.
So, as she goes into the underworld of Chicago she gets caught up with gangsters and corruption which she decides to investigate and throws her deeper into the dark world, but can she save herself and solve the crime in the end, you will need to read to find out.
What can I say other than I loved this adventure, this is the first book in the series and although I have read the others in this series, I thought I would go back to where it all starts and was not disappointed. It was brilliant to see the interaction between Emma and her family and to see the start of the strong, witty character was great to read.
The story is full of the action and great writing within the other books, and you get to see Emma as the young woman just starting find her feet and confidence, as always, her spirit and gumption is there fully to see. The flow of the story was great and a brilliant mix of tension and action, plus the dotted receipts of the German delights was a lovely thought also. I can’t wait to read more.

Greer is living life under the radar just how she likes it, but when her mother decides to move them into the home of her boyfriend Greer’s life turns into a nightmare, not only a new home, new people but a new school is never good in the senior year but when she starts getting bullied the most unlikely hero comes to her rescue.
Beckett has had his battles but when his father moves in the new flavour of the month, he is determined to show them for the money grabbing woman she is. Beckett has always been an only child and with a new girl added to the mix has made things complicated but when Beckett starts to have feelings towards the interloper and defends her at school, can he really change?
This is not the first book by this author and this book does not disappoint one bit. I love the story and as always, the developed characters within this story. Beckett is a horrible individual in the beginning of this book, and I really did not enjoy the interactions he had with Greer but as always you slowly see him growing as a character and end up good in the end.
Greer’s character was a brilliant counter to Beckett, although at times you think she is a quiet mouse, don’t be fooled she ends up being a tiger and shows her true feelings as the story goes on. The story flows brilliantly and although this is a young adult story, you don’t feel this within the writing.

Into the Light is an emotional romantic tale. It is a best friend’s little sister theme and is sweet with some suspense and with mystery as to what is hiding in the dark at Moon Harbor. I enjoyed the characters and soon found myself invested in them. Rafael has become my newest book boyfriend.
I did feel as though there were a few questions at times and at times the story felt a bit rushed but despite this I really enjoyed the story. I realised when I had finished this book that it is the third book in this series but I did not feel as if I was missing out on not having read the first two books. I will go back and read them though.
This friends to lover’s tale has danger, suspense, mystery, steamy and sexy chemistry and romance that is hot, hot, hot oh and let’s not forget the gifted dirty talk.

Into the Light was really good! An unexpected start to me, I’m used to more of a build up in best friend/sister romances. But in saying that I really enjoyed the story the author put together. not only a bonding romance but a story of redemption for one of the main characters as well. Ellie and Raf are drawn to one another but there are certain obstacles and circumstances that are keeping them from telling each other. Ellie wants him to see her more than his best friend’s little sister, but she can’t come out and say it. Raf adores Ellie more than she realizes, so what’s holding him back? Not being good enough, best friend’s little sister, perhaps? What happens when someone tries to hurt Ellie? Does Raf finally let his barriers down? Does Ellie take what she wants? This book, though quick in pace, may have you frustrated with the characters at times. These two main characters are definitely extremely stubborn, they want but they won’t take. Two characters that were written with quite a bit of depth that I want more of. I’m a sucker for a good romance novel, and this author sucked me in. Hooked, lined, and sunk. Now it’s time to discover other books by this author, while you check out this one.

I loved this book due to the fact that you got a science lesson but didn’t realise it. The illustrations were bright and colourful and littles were able to pick out the mermaid, ice cubes, lemonade etc. Give you the opportunity to show little ones with a real ice cube and create play time. The additional information on the state of water was a very interesting addition for older children and parents.

I love myself a good romance, but I’ve never jumped into the country western rodeo type romance till now. I was not disappointed, I thoroughly enjoyed it. My Bronc Riding Cowgirl was different in a great way! This is not the first book by this author I’ve read, but the first in this series. Now I need to go back and read them all. Don’t get me wrong this works perfectly well as a standalone romance. I just like reading things in succession. But I digress. Tori and Cord are essentially Rodeo Bronc riding royalty. Both of their father’s were well known throughout the rodeo world. Cord following in his father’s footsteps, a given. The unexpected was that Tori wanted to bring it to the forefront that it’s not just a men’s playing field. Women can do it too. Might also help that she’s always wanted to do it, though women were expected to do the barrel races. Cord’s dad pretty much told him “don’t let this become bigger than yourself.” He heard the words but did he really digest them? Tori opened his eyes, made him see. She humbled him the minute she put him in his place. He would forever be a goner. Tori resisted with all her might. But nothing could keep her away from him. But can they coexist in a man’s sport? Can cord accept that women can do it too? This author writes a story with a lot of substance and a strong female lead. Which I love. This author is becoming a favorite of mine, she doesn’t disappoint!

I so loved this book and the flow of the story line. The author took her time and didn’t rush through the ending to just finish the book. As a reader, I appreciate a well thought out story. This book had an underlying current of tension all the way though.
Brooke is a career oriented person who is adamant on paying her own way in life. She moved to a quiet town that made her feel like this was home. She’s a graphic designer for the local newspaper and loves her job.
Levi is an elemental from a different planet to keep humans safe from the Chaolt (a causer of chaos) in the form of natural disasters. Everytime a Chaolt kills a sleeper ( a human with latient elemental powers) a disaster is caused.
Levi and Brooke meet when Levi sees her across the street and his powers get all twitchy. He has no idea why he is reacting as such. Yes, she is beautiful but he has seen beautiful women before.
So much happens once these two meet that you will not be able to put this book down. Brook is in danger at every turn and will need protection from something she knows nothing about. This story has twists and turns, suspense to keep you reading and a love story you will be cheering for until the very end.

My Bronc Riding Cowgirl is the sixth book in the My Cowboy series by Brooke May. I have read quite a few of Ms. May’s books now, and as I have mentioned previously, I really love how well developed her characters are and how realistic and believable they seem- and how easily they are able to pull me into their ‘world’ and get me entirely invested in them and the outcome of their story. This contemporary western romance has drama, chemistry, angst, finding love unexpectedly, emotion- and set amongst the bronc riding circuit. Cord and Tori are wonderful characters and were perfect for each other. Even though this is the sixth book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. But, having said that though, I recommend getting your hands on the entire series as there is plenty to love about the previous five books- with lots of other characters to get to know. Looking forward to seeing what comes next!

This is book one in The Notebook Mysteries series and the third book I’ve read in the series. The story starts in the preface sometime in the future, where the narrator (we aren’t told the name) is deciding to write a book, but doesn’t know where to begin. After going through the collection of notebooks, she decides where to start the story. Throughout the book the reader is interrupted by the narrator and Dear-one as she’s writing the story. This is an interesting way to tell the story of Emma. Even though each book can be read as a stand-alone novel, this book gives the majority of backstory of the characters, as well as more details into setting. The author also includes recipes mentioned in the book. German chocolate cake wasn’t made the way it was made when I was young. I felt more pulled into the historical time in this novel. It was a nice cozy mystery for the young adult genre!

I cannot get enough of these books! The story line is great, the characters are wonderful and readers never want to put the book down. Each story is written with such detail that readers are sucked in left wanting more. The chemistry coming off the pages is electric! The characters compliment each other and while we have all read romance before, this is different!

I am honestly in love with the world LM Preston has created in the Vigilant series books. As soon as I finish one, I instantly start the next. This book gives us the third perspective of the Lewis family moving to Newport, Rhode Island. Unlike the POV of the previous 4 books (EmVee and Dex), Rei is very different from her older siblings, she is less confrontational and more of the quiet observer.
It has been a month since her family moved to the small town leaving behind her hometown New York City, Rei decides to check out the back-to-school club fair, in hopes of finding a dance club. In the parking lot Rei eavesdrops for the first time since moving, a cheerleader and her boyfriend are having an argument that leads to the girl seeing her. Megan, the girl who not only runs the school newspaper but also a down low blog surprises Rei, convincing her to work for her. Feeling foggy headed Rei agrees only to instantly be confused, as the fog cleared from her mind, as to why she would agree. She noted instantly that Megan could be pretty, but she had the eyes of a predator and that set off a strange feeling. The more Rei sees of the new town she calls home the more she feels that it is off, everything from the houses to the people seem fake, giving her the feeling that something was very wrong in the town. Rei is just as skilled as her older siblings in martial arts, but she prefers to stay hidden and learn the secrets others try to hide. Will Megan lead her into something she can’t hide from and why does she care so much about her family and their secrets? Every book in the series pulls you deeper into the world the Lewis family. Rei thinks more about how she can use things to her advantage holding back information, even about herself, until she thinks it will be the most useful. I cannot wait to read Rebel of Fire and See where Rei’s story takes her.

This was a fun easy to read love story that kept readers attention all the way through! The story line is believable, the characters are great and readers can’t help but keep flipping the pages! This was a really cute book! I liked the themes involved, about patience and perservence and how to work at something to achieve goals. It had a really good story for a short children’s novel. My daughter liked the pictures of this one, but she’s only 1 so she didn’t understand the meaning of it or what the author’s point was. I can’t wait to read this one to her or let her read it herself when she gets older!

This book was super intense and way out of my normal field but I thought with fall finally arriving I would try a thriller for a change of pace. This book was full of drama, suspense, amazing characters and so much more that I found it difficult to put it down. The word flow was absolutely perfect, the plot was intense and had me on the edge of my seat, and the book as a whole was just simply amazing. So if you want a new thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat then definitely pick this one up today.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect going into this book since I hadn’t read the previous two but it really read as a pretty good stand alone. While I’m sure that I would have gotten some references more efficiently had I read the previous books in the series, I’m glad I started late because now I have more exciting books to read. This book had everything that I love in a good romance from spice, mystery, suspense, tension, and of course romance. I just simply couldn’t put it down and had finished the whole thing before I knew it. So if you’re looking for a good quick romance make sure to look this one up today.

This book was truly an amazing addition to this series. Like the previous books this one could be read as a stand alone but they’re all so good why not read them all. This book was definitely full of intrigue, action, danger, amazing characters and more. This installment really tied up a lot of loose ends for me and brought the series together in a lot of ways. I personally can’t wait to see what this amazing author and her wonderful characters bring us next.

This series has been the best so far. Emma has been doing well at her firm job, and it just so happens to be break time for Christmas. What I love about this one is how it’s a twist with A Christmas Carol! Her coworker who helped her on one of her last mysteries needs a favor returned. With this favor becomes a few mysteries at once. She once again meets more drama, family love, friendships, and love with Jeremy. I love their relationship!! Thanks again for another amazing book!
River Witch was my first book by this author. I enjoyed her writing style. This is a great adult fantasy book. I loved that it was captivating, yet easy to read. I will be adding this author to my must-read list. Reviewed by @mimimadge

Moby Plays the Flute was a great story that helps teach the Importance in perseverance. I loved that while the story was short, it spanned a longer time frame and showed that while feeling defeated, Moby never gave up. I loved the artwork of this book and I am beyond impressed by this new to me author and illustrator. I’m certain my children are going to add this book to their regular book requests.

This book is one of those books that is all about the characters. The have a great connection that is believable from the moment you start reading. Their relationship was great to watch develop and to see how they changed throughout the course of the story. They were a perfect match for each other. This is an entertaining story that is easy to read. It is the perfect sort of book for a lazy afternoon. It has a great pace about it, making it engaging. This author really does know how to please her fans and this book is just one example of that. This is a great story with some truly likeable characters.

This is a fun and entertaining romance that is easy to read and very easy to enjoy. I found this to be one of those books that you get swept up in and read in one sitting. I was rooting for the characters and wanted to see how things would work out in the end. This is a new author to me and I enjoyed getting to know her writing style. She has created a book that has the right amount of romance mixed with the right amount of emotion. The book flowed well and I was caught up in the story from the moment I started reading. This was a great story and I look forward to discovering more of her work.

This is the first book collection I’ve read like this. Each story is different. Each author is amazing. I will be looking forward to the next collection. Babysitter of the Apocalypse by Courtney Konstantin was the story that stuck out the most.
Vicki is left by herself. Zombies are everywhere and there’s not a safe place left. Her neighbor drops off her kids one day and never returns. Now Vicki is left with two kids. The quote I chose for Vicki is: “Ok Gabby, today is the day we talked about. We’re leaving today. There’s too many bad people in the building now.”

I enjoyed reading this romance book. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. One of the things I enjoy about this author is her ability to pull me into her stories with her writing skills. This book is no different. The characters pull you into the story and make you feel as if you are part of their world. This is an easy and entertaining story to read. It is fast paced and hard to put down. I enjoyed the growth of the characters as well as the plot throughout the story. A romance story where competing could be more important than love. What will happen between Tori and Cord? I enjoyed them as characters, they made the story for me. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I enjoyed reading this story. This is a well written story where the characters bring the story to life and give a new meaning to twist and turns. I enjoyed the growth of the plot and the action that made it hard to put down. A fast paced story that is entertaining to read. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the first word. The characters are connectable and kept me coming back for more. Bax is a great character. He is strong and I enjoyed his determination. He is my favorite of the story. This is a story you don’t want to miss for sure. A great story that filled my afternoon with suspense and edge sitting mystery. I highly recommend this book.
This was a phenomenal audio book! There was just so much going on in this story that I couldn’t stop listening but also didn’t want to listen for fear of what was going to happen next! I actually really didn’t want this story to end!! The authors writing was just outstanding from beginning to end I was completely hooked. The action was great, the emotion, the danger, the romance, everything was just perfect and I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Rock and Becca were amazing characters and with so many twists and turns in their story I could hardly keep up but I loved the ride that they took me on with their story. Along with the amazing writing the narration of the story was just amazing – both narrators completely brought Rock and Becca’s story to life. Absolutely fantastic audio book and one that I highly recommend.

This novel is best described, in my opinion, as interesting. The plot is not at all what I originally anticipated, but it did not disappoint. The anticipation truly kept me on edge until the very end. The only complaint I have about this book is that I could not connect with the characters. Nick is a very determined but selfish man, married to Julia who is independent yet selfless. I have no idea how these two got married and have such an amazing connection, but if Nick was my husband I would divorce him in a split second after the trip he put Julia through.
Aside from the characters, I did quite enjoy the plot. It was intense and left me guessing until the end. If you enjoy thrillers, I would recommend picking up this novel. Just because I did not connect with the characters does not mean you won’t!

This was a really nice short read. I’ve read a few books by this author and I love the characters that she creates. They are always relatable and great to read about. I really liked Jules and Mitchel, there was a great chemistry between them – although I will admit it took me a little time to warm up to Jules. The story was quite short and I definitely felt like it could be a little longer and it did feel rushed in parts but overall I still really liked it and would certainly recommend it to others, especially if you’re looking for a short read.

This was a lovely and endearing story and one that I really enjoyed. The author transported me back in time with her beautiful writing and descriptive language. Emma is a great character to read about, so inquisitive for her age. I enjoyed reading about her. The author really does have a wonderful writing style that keeps you engaged the whole way through the book. The characters were well thought out and I think this was really evident with Emma’s character, she was so much more than just your average 16 year old from that time period. She was really refreshing to read about and I loved that about her. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
