I will definitely be re-reading this trilogy from the first book through the third. I picked it because I was needing a little bit of a pick me up in life. This was just so much fun, there was laughter, smiles, and “good feel” emotions that just can’t be simulated on your own. Despite not knowing the backstory of the characters, I still found this to be a charming read.
Cat is obviously a baker, and her confidence inspires me to really enjoy my own hobby as well. It also makes me wonder what I can do to make my world a better place. I think this will be a good re-read for the holidays, as there is a lot of family and tight-knitted “ness” between the characters.

I enjoyed the strong female presence. Jester is a book I can see myself rereading. Lissette has some hard choices to make which enables her survival skills. Using her goal of becoming the Queen’s Jester. You can see how much focus she has on her goal one could call it an obsession. There are many lessons to be learned from this book.

Shakedown is the first novel in the First Coast Thriller series. It highlights the story of what happens when a cartel’s boat gets repossessed. Clayton Conway is an ex-cop who works for D&D Recovery, and while he is trying to help the FBI with their investigation into the cartel he is also in the process of recovering from his personal demons. Xavier and Jimmy who are both Clayton’s co-workers assist him try to keep the cartel from dominating Jacksonville Florida. Cassie (Clayton’s sister), he is daughter, Reese, and his estranged father, Wendell all play a role in what happens with the crew of D&D. This first book in the series sets up a nice cliffhanger for the next installment of the First Coast Thriller Series.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. The Titans of Manhattan Series is an amazing series. Each book is getting better. We get to hear each Titans story. Kristopher and Alessia is this book and you might remember Alessia from earlier in the series.
Alessia isn’t new to the Titans world. She thought she got away from all that after her past, but that doesn’t seem to be the path she is taking. Alessia is starting a new job and guess who she’ll be working with Kristopher. The quote I chose for Alessia is: “Right now, you seem to be quite the gentleman. They say first impressions are everything, and I’m just sorry I haven’t made a better one on you. I—”
Kristopher doesn’t always seek out women, but he can’t help it when it comes to Alessia. Going through a nasty divorce is one thing, but it’s different when it involves kids. Now he’s working for the promotion of a lifetime. Can he get it all or will he lose it all? The quote I chose for Kristopher is: “It’s a court ordered arrangement where we live apart and lead separate lives. The only reason we didn’t get an actual divorce to begin with was because of the children.”

Beautifully written, The Letter Carrier follows Michelle Naget and her family during WWII, during the Nazi invasion. For four years, the Nagets were forced into servitude by the Nazis by housing and caring for the commandants that passed through their little town of Braquis. Only through faith and determination will the Nagets make it through. Based on a true story, The Letter Carrier sheds light on another country impacted by the Nazis. Gripping and eye-opening, The Letter Carrier and all its characters are relatable. Every feeling the character feels is detailed in such a way that the reader feels along with them. I suggest taking your time reading The Letter Carrier to fully absorb all the plights, feelings, and events. There was not a single part I did not like. Overall, The Letter Carrier is a must read. I highly suggest it to anyone looking for an enthralling read from the eyes of someone who lived through the terror.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Key to His Heart is a fantastic read. This story had me hooked from the beginning. I had a hard time putting it down. You will love this book.
Katrina is newly divorced and a soon to be mom. She loves to paint and is an artist. She also has visions. She meets her landlord’s nephew and knows he’s the man from her visions. Will she be able to get him to understand? Will she find out what is going on with her? The quote I chose for Kat is: “Tobias, I love you more and more every day, and I’ll prove it to you for the rest of my life.”
Tobias or TJ is helping out in his parent’s store when a pregnant woman comes in. She wants the rocking chair that his parents aren’t selling. Then he helps her out in more than one way. Now he doesn’t want to let her go. The quote I chose for TJ is: “Pfft. Comparing my life to then and now, it’s amazing what I’ve learned about myself. I thank my lucky stars she’s only a distant memory now. The thought of Kat and Toby not being a part of my life makes me sick to my stomach.”

Shake Down (First Coast Thriller Book 1) by Armand Rosamilia. I really enjoyed this book. Its a crime thriller and that is one of my favorite genres. I can’t wait to read this next book in this series. This story is of Clayton Conway who was a cop but due to his gambling addiction he has lost everything. His career and his family. He’s trying desperately to make it up to his wife and daughter but its slow going at best. He’s renting a room above a bar and now is a repo man. When he gets a order to repo a powerboat that belongs to a cartel member things take a much heated turn. Clayton thinks if he can bust up this cartel he can get back his old job as a cop. The danger even effects his wife and kids. He will do anything to protect them. This book is full of twists and turns you don’t see coming and it will keep you turning pages til you are finished!

In this book, we have introduced again to Andy and Stephen along with Andy’s daughter Stella. Andy and Stephen are in a committed relationship until Andy is diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Stephen sees Andy at his lowest point and gets overwhelmed and he leaves. Andy is devastated and with the help of Fitz and MJ, we see Andy reclaim his life with Stella and move on. This is a romantic adventure. What happens in Oasis certainly stays in Oasis. Lisette is trying to make a name for herself and Luc is her main competition. He has an edge: real magic. Lisette lost her magic when her father was executed for killing the King. The sparks arise between these two as does some new evidence against the Queen that shows she may have been the one to murder the King. I love the passion and suspense in the story. The back and forth. The characters are so well-developed. The plot ran smooth with some twists in it. This is a story that will have you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happened next. It sucked me in right from the start. I highly recommend it.

Just wow! This book was so freaking good. The story was artistic in its own special way, and held me as I read, I could not get enough of this book and what it has to offer. The story not only provided much intrigue, but a lot of realism and a world that was magical on it own to imagine!
Loved this story and the characters that it contained. I saw a lot of character development as well. Especially with Lisette. I found she really grew through the story, She was a very admirable character as well. Whom she started as, and what by the end of the book, she finished as, was rather remarkable. I loved the plot, and all it contained. The story was a quick read for me, as I could not put it down, it held me and I kept needing more answers to my questions and to keep on reading! It was just soo good! I loved this book so much!
The author truly captivated me and I loved their writing style, as well as how they brought this story and characters to life. A must read for sure! Definitely a very high recommendation on my list from me!

I loved this book! It reminded me a lot of The Nightingale and exposed me to more knowledge of what life was like in France during WWII. I like that this viewpoint was from a young girl and everything was from her perspective. Many of us do not realize the dangers the conquered people endured during that time. Michelle, the main character, shared her story through the eyes of someone very young and not fully aware of what was going on (in the beginning). She was forced to grow up quickly and take on a lot of responsibility in a very dangerous time. I also like how we get little glimpses of young crushes and the turmoil a young girl would go through when the person you have a crush on is in places unknown. I did not realize until the end that this was based on a real woman and her family, which makes it all the more precious to be part of.

I really enjoyed this fantasy adventure. It is a fast paced story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It’s a story full of different aspects such as revenge and redemption. There is also a enemy to lovers romance which at first you don’t expect. The main character Lisette is very strong willed and determined to succeed, however sometimes her plans to do that could be seen as questionable.
Lisette has been left on her own since her father was executed for murdering the king. Now she has to struggle through life trying to get out from the disgrace her father caused by commiting that crime. Lisette’s dream is to become the Jester however this will be no easy feat considering she doesn’t have any real magic. When she enters into the challenge to become the Queens Jester its a highly dangerous thing to do and when her worst enemy Luc also joins the challenge things just get worse for her. After all Luc has what she doesn’t. Luc has real magic not an illusion like Lisette. As the challenge progresses Lisette sees evidence go show the Queens involvement in her husbands death. Was Lisette dad really to blame for the Kings murder? Now Lisette has a choice. Does she strive to clear her family name and lose her dream or does she live under the disgrace of her fathers supposed crime and fulfil her dream of being Queens Jester? Is that even an option with Luc in the competition?

This is a love story. But not a typical one. This brings two people together in the most beautiful way; and it a starts with a rocking chair and a baby.
When Katerina, pregnant, and newly divorced walks into TJs store to purchase a special blue rocking chair, it’s love at first sight. Their love story took me through loops and red tape so many times, i could do nothing but to keep reading. There is an element of the mystical when Katerina knows TJ before they meet from her dreams. She has felt him, dreamed of him before she knew him.
The tiptoeing and hesitant romance is so thrilling. It’s like watching a Nicholas Sparks movie. Their romance is timid and sweet. Tj is the definition of sweet.
TJ, a retired football player, doesn’t know what hit him. Katerina is everything to him and he just knows she is his forever. If only he could convince Katerina of the same. it devolves and escalates into this whirlwind love affair that left me biting my nails reading nonstop until the end. There is room for more character development and the story seemed rushed but over all I loved it and would read it again. Read more

Bake Happy is the third and final book in the Bake Believe trilogy by Cori Cooper. This was both a fun and bittersweet read, as I knew it was the final book in the series and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye yet. This follows on from the previous books, so I suggest reading the first two instalments before beginning on this one. As I have said before, I love how original and fun this series is. Ms. Cooper has crafted such a clever and imaginative teen/YA fantasy story- with magic, family, humour, recipes, a sprinkle of drama, teen life, adventure, emotion, heart and soul. Oh, and recipes, did I mention yummy recipes? I have loved Cat (and company) right from the moment I met her back in book one. I love how wonderfully quirky and endearing the character/s are- they really brought the story to life and things definitely wouldn’t have been the same without them. Our adventures all started in Book One when we met Cat Anderson for the first time and saw how her life was turned upside down after she discovered baking, and found out exactly what her baking could do. It took her a while to get a handle on her baking ‘skills’ which may have caused a little chaos in the process. But now things are going smoothly and she has everything under control…. or does she? Stay tuned for a surprise or two, because things are about to get quite interesting. I’m really hoping that we may get to revisit Cat again in the future. In the mean time I’m looking forward to seeing what Ms. Cooper does next! Happy reading!

I can tell you all about the thrill of finding a good read and the double whammy of it being a suspenseful thriller. But wow! This book took the genre to a whole new level. My heart was pounding. Palms sweaty, and gripping the kindle so tight. I was kidnapped from my world and brought into this incredibly well written Mark Nolan novel and there were ZERO regrets.

Book 2 in the Hawke family series picks up where book one left off. I originally read Savage Collision in 2017 and then never found the time to read past that book. I just reread book one and immediately had to go onto book 2.
How can you ever think it is a good idea to get involved with your brothers best friend? But that is exactly what Skye does. Feeling a pull towards Gabe Anderson should never of been part of her life. However you immediately feel the connection these two have and what they have been fighting off for years. One simple kiss and it throws their entire lives into complete chaos.
Enduring what Skye has can simply not be easy. I can only imagine what a sudden loss like she has experienced feels like especially given who the loss was. In Gabe‘s case he too has suffered incredible loss but in a different way. We find these two pulling towards each other and I think that the type of losses they both have experienced is what makes them magnetic to each other. I felt like they had a kindred spirit because what each of them have endured, the pain, the loss, hurt, the struggle and most of all I think they both encounter a sense of not feeling like they belong because of missing people or emotions.
Throw into the mix an over protective, control freak older brother who is also the best friend of the man you’re falling for and your emotions will be all over the place. There is some suspense in this book just as there is in book one which I enjoyed. This author does a great job of being very detail oriented, very specific, and setting up the foundation/background of each character so that you know where they’re coming from and why they are the way they are. She also did a good job of bringing in characters from book one and so you kind of get to see a little bit of a continuation of those characters that you first fell in love with.
If you enjoy a story with well developed characters, hot sex scenes, a little suspense, and an intense romance than this is the book for you. I highly recommend reading the series in order though to gain the most out of the storytelling.

This book is so much more! Saved by Love doesn’t just fall into the romance category. It hits some potentially very heavy topics along the way. Mental illness being a big one. Autism being a big theme throughout as well. The way the author co-mingles these topics works beautifully. I loved this book, I wasn’t sure I wanted to read it at first. Why, because when books are in a series I usually like to start at book 1. However, besides now having to go back and read the other, this book is just as fantastic as a stand-alone novel. Callie and Evan both are damaged in their own way. Callie brings everything Evan wants and then some to the table. Unfortunately his mental instability is holding him back. Retiring extremely early in his NHL career, Evan struggles with severe anxiety. Anyone who suffers from anxiety and or depression can relate. You can also relate how being caught in one’s head holds you back. Which is Evan in a nutshell. Callie is the breath of fresh air he never knew he needed. A small crush no big deal, or so Callie thought. However Evan doesn’t recognize her. Allowing them to get to know each other without anyone holding them back. A screwed up childhood Callie is preserving. Hoping she can rub off some of that success onto Evan. Now I briefly touched on the autism theme, which is something near and dear to my heart. The way the author represents autism as a minor theme made me extremely happy, I even shed a tear at some points. Don’t let this book pass you by because you haven’t read the ones that have come before it, you’ll be disappointed if you do. Jump in doesn’t matter that it’s book 7!

This is an interesting YA story. There is a good mix of action and adventure in this book. It was nice to see Reece begin to find his way and grow. He has a lot going on and must learn and grow quickly, life is not going to stand still and wait for him to figure things out. While this story is easy to follow it is part of a series and readers may want to read the others in the series to better connect with the characters in this book. There is a nice mix of magic and adventure that will have those that enjoy YA stories entertained.

I absolutely love this series! The characters are true to form from the other books… the writing is engaging… and most of all, you can’t wait to see what happens next in this mafia family world!! Each book brings different stories and twists from the last, but they blend seamlessly together. This is a thrilling, sweet, steamy foray into a family that lives fast and bonds faster.
When Mia put herself in danger to warn the family previously, I was eager to learn more about her. Her relationship with Nico is unique and fits so well with his personality type. I love the dialogue between all the women in the family and that they look out for one another.
Following the alliance in this book that brings the Chicago and New York families together, I cannot wait to read about the Veretti boys. I would love for this world to continue building so we can learn how everyone moves into their new roles and what happens next!
Bake Happy is the final book in this YA romantic fantasy trilogy. Make sure you go back and start with the first book Bake Believe.
I love stories that are a little different and this trilogy is definitely original and imaginative. It is fun and entertaining and has humour that will have you laughing. This quirky tale will have your taste buds salivating with the magical recipes included. It is interesting and unique and gives us the usual raging teen angst and grumpiness. The story is humorous and engaging as we adventure along with Cat and her magic. It’s hard to say goodbye.
Cori has hit the spot that YAs are going to enjoy reading about Cat and her family.

Ok first off, Ashes of Sin and Stardust is a dark and delicious BDSM erotic romance. I really enjoyed the story but it was a long haul. I think it could be cut into two books or cut down a bit being too wordy. There are also some parts the author added that I am not sure that fit exactly right for this story, like religion.
Lindsay however did a great job with the BDSM aspect that it will have your heart pumping it is so good. I really liked the characters who Lindsay gave us great back stories but I could have done with a little less of the brattish behaviour. Each has past that was not always good.
Having said all that Ashes of Sin and Stardust is well worth the read.

So good, soooo good! Oh man where do you even start with this book?! Key to His Heart by Kristina Beck was absolutely an amazing book. This is the first book that I have read by this author and for sure will not be my last. Katrina has finally left her loveless marriage and found herself on the way to single motherhood. She stumbles randomly into TJ and she realizes, it’s him. It’s always been him. Who is him? Well now that you’ll just have to find out for yourself. I absolutely LOVED TJ’s character. He was sweet, dotting, and wore his heart on his sleeve. He embraced Katrina and Toby (her son) without the blink of an eye. I admit I was nervous for the pair and rooting for TJ since he was getting the short end of the stick. But I am so glad they found their way back to each other. There is a lot of detail but I felt it necessary to explain the background of Katrina’s thoughts. It definitely helped. I cannot wait to recommend this book to anyone needing one they can’t put down until it’s over.

Another hit by one of my favorite authors! As have been the case with other books in this series, this was an easy and entertaining read for me. The focus on one of the underboss’ this time around was especially intriguing. I hope that future stories also focus on the lives of the ‘less elite’ involved in the mafia. I enjoyed the dynamic between the couple, but I wish there had been more spiciness and alone time between the two of them as there have been in past books. I was hooked on Mia the moment I met her, hoping that the arrangement she seeks with Nico would end well for her in the midst of her trouble with her family.
This author is a good author, but his books just aren’t for me. This book was very, very graphic and a little too disturbing for me. There is child mutilation in it, if there was a content warning, I missed it. But if you’re a lover of reading horror, then this would be a great book for you. I’m just not into it. Writing wise, it’s fantastic. Detailed, pulls the reader in, and has a good story line. But as I already said, it is fairly graphic. I’m just not a paranormal/horror book reader.

Stitch by Stitch is a murder mystery that kept me reading to the end. Elizabeth Candew is newly divorced and trying to dig herself out of a financial hole when things turn darker for her when starting a new adventure. I enjoyed this story and Elizabeth’s story. She is relatable and realistic. I also enjoyed the humorous bits of the story. I think they helped with the relatable aspects of the story—also, a look at MLM’s in a different way. I enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more from this author in the future.
