As always, each installment in this series can be read as a standalone but they’re so much more enjoyable when you know the whole cast of characters and their backstories.

Something About Aimee is the first book from the Girls from the Street series by S.E. Smith. I have read a few of Ms. Smith’s books now, but this is definitely my favourite of the bunch, so far. As soon as I saw the cover and read the blurb, I knew I would like it- but I never expected to love it as much as I did. It was such a treat to read, incorporating much of what I love to find in my stories. This is a stellar romantic suspense, with plenty of action, danger, agendas, dramatic developments, originality, creativeness, tension, chemistry, intrigue, suspense, mystery, and so much more. The author definitely got the recipe right with this book. I loved every minute between her cover. Aimee (Wheels) and Qadir are such wonderful characters, I loved them from the outset. They have been meticulously crafted into well-developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. Aimee brings such a fresh and somewhat quirky vibe to the whole story- very cleverly done by this talented author. Both her MC’s are ‘different’, in a great way- which added more depth and an extra element of interest to the whole story. I don’t think it would have been the same without these two particular characters. I also loved the little bit of mysteriousness that the author had instilled in them both- especially Wheels with her backstory/upbringing etc. I really wanted to know more about that- I felt that her origins might be something unexpected and really interesting. I have my own suspicions on this, so I am hoping that we may find out more about her in future instalments. I was immediately captured by these wonderful characters and their exciting tale- finding myself completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. I couldn’t read quick enough; I was that eager to find out what happens. I only meant to read a few chapters before bed to see what the story was like- and before I knew it several hours had passed and I had devoured the entire book in one sitting. This is definitely one of my favourite, and most memorable reads this year. Happy Reading!

The Titans are back! I love these books, and Scandalously Yours doesn’t disappoint! Book 5 in the Titans of Manhattan Series, can be read in succession and/or as a standalone novel. So I’ve gushed about how much I like this series, but it’s not just the series it’s the author too! If you want a well written romance novel look no further, if it be this book and/or any of the others this author has written. Trust me they are written well and keep you intrigued. They do not disappoint. What goes around comes around, I feel that best describes what Kristopher is going through. After what he did to his best friend and his now wife in high school. He’s now dealing with the karma. That Karma being his soon to be conniving ex-wife, Hayley. She’s making his life miserable, and will go to any means to do so. Including using their kids against him. This is a book that was hard to put down, you peal each layer of the characters and the secrets, drama and betrayal….there was plentiful! This book is told in multi-POV and can I say again….the secrets!!!

When Vincent pulls away more and more from Rosalie, thoughts of another woman surface and doubt settles in…. and Rosalie is determine to seek revenge.
This story definitely pulls of twists and turns that you definitely need to put on your seat-belt because you are in for one roller coaster of a ride!

I totally devoured this book just like the last one. Once again, these characters were amazing. A very amazing, fast paced, page turner, action filled, story that kept me on the edge of my seat that I couldn’t put it down. This was a really good read! It was well written, and fast paced so it made go pretty quickly while reading. The characters were lovable and had great chemistry together. It starts off with a bang, so it was definitely exciting and I may even go so far as to say adventurous while being emotional. My only complaint is that while it moved quick, it was hard to determine points in time so I stayed a little confused in parts on the timeline because there was several skipped days. But other than that it was a great read. I can’t wait to read more in the future!

This story was a good one! I picked it up because the blurb sounded interesting and I am glad I did. It was full of fast paced, suspenseful and hot moments. I liked all of the main characters. I enjoyed this quick read from an author I hadn’t found before. The female lead is strong and the writing is good! A great post-apocalyptic dystopian novel! I’ve had this one on my list for a while and I’m sure glad I finally opened it up!
Since this is the first in a series, there is a lot of care taken to develop the characters and setting. It is well-researched, descriptive, and engaging. The world-building in the novel, of a post-pandemic world, is incredible and the character development is excellent. The author really brings life to this story and keeps the reader coming back for more.
The main character, Cam, is endearing and relatable. The author’s ability to fully develop characters, especially Cam, draws the reader in and enables the reader to become emotionally invested in his life and story.

This book was amazing. A very intriguing, full of action, suspense, thriller mystery. It is a good short book that makes a good start for this series. The characters are very interesting and are very wonderful. There is an underlining mystery to these characters that really kept me wanting to know more about them. I was very hooked and couldn’t put this book down for the life of me and kept me on the edge of my seat. I really can’t wait to read more into this series. Very enjoyable.

An engaging, fast-paced read. I really enjoyed this story and the writers style is engaging and draws the reader in. The story felt realistic and it was made up of everything a good suspenseful romance needs.
Aimee is a strong leading female who is unexpectedly, but quickly, well-matched with Qadir, who proves himself a great leading man! Through from different worlds, their chemistry is palpable!
I really enjoyed this one by an author I’ve never read before! I look forward to additional books from her.

This Time Around by Jane Suen was a very fast read and sweet story. Katie finds herself without a date to a high school friends wedding. The bride has a date for her, after breaking up ten years prior, Katie is pushed back into the life of her ex, Chase. I thought there would be more to the wedding instead of them just jumping back into familiar territory but it seemed to work. I was hoping to find out why Katie broke it off but it didn’t seem as though there was a good explanation. The story was good but for some reason it felt lacking in something, maybe it was heat. The spark between the characters was there, or it was supposed to be, but it could have been elaborated better at some times, with less internalized thinking by the characters. The ending felt rushed, while I’m happy Katie finally is doing what she wanted in life, it just seemed as though the story tried hard for the happy ending and it was as of there was no backbone in it. I did not feel connected to any of the characters.

This was definitely a fast paced, action packed adventure that had so many twists and turns, I couldn’t put the book down! EmVee was such a great heroine, who keeps working so hard despite all of the trauma and setbacks. She is struggling to understand the changes in herself ever since her attack and she has lost everyone she loves. She now has to work with her ex’s best friend to try and uncover the secrets she needs to get the answers to, while working through her feelings for him as well. This was a roller coaster of emotions and an amazing start to the series! I can’t wait to read the rest of the books!

I love finding new to me authors and learning about their style to see if they are a one and done or if I will be reading more by them. This author is one I will be one I will be looking forward to reading again.
There was something quite endearing about Aimee and Qadir from the beginning and it only increased the further I got into the book.
Aimee is not your average girl in any shape, form or fashion and that was the beginning of her charm. Not having an easy life would have a lot of people mad at the world and bitter towards everyone and everything, not Aimee. She protects those she cares about with everything she has, but she manages take the wrong person mad.
Qadir is not the normal Sheikh. It’s obvious he has money but he doesn’t act like others I have read or the stereotypes and I liked that a lot.
I have been traveling for the last couple of days and this was able to get lost in the book instead of worrying about my husband’s driving. I’m so looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book was gripping! Something About Aimee (Girls from the Street Book 1) by S.E. Smith is my first read from this author, but I guarantee it won’t be my last.
I loved Aimees’ street wise, spunky, and strong willed free spirited attitude. Aimee is proud of her lifestyle and all the different skills she’s learned living on the streets. She is a perfect match for the Sheikh Qadir Saif-Ad-Din despite them being from two completely different worlds. Their love story was one of passion and adventure. I love the fact that Qadir is protective over Aimee, without trying to change her or hold her back. This book is a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs that packed so many emotions. I loved these characters and this book, I can’t wait til Book 2 is out. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone who wants a great read.

Scandalously Yours is another delicious tale by the talented Anise. Anise is always a must read because she does her craft so well. This is the fifth book in this amazing series and probably my favourite so far. I think I said that about all of them but it still holds true. Do yourself a favour and start from the first book. You will be drawn into the dark side where there is plenty of sizzle, heat, greed, pain, suffering and so much more. The story is beautifully written, exceptionally captivating and painfully heart breaking. This one will bring out all the feels and at times you will be on the edge of your seat and checking who is in the shadows. You will want to hug the characters and others you want to plan to take out.
He had it all until he realised the depth of deception and finally the depravity of the one, he once loved. He finds himself drawn to a beautiful woman but he can’t let her into his life when evil is finally showing her true colours and may just be a fight for his life.
I can’t wait to see what Anise brings to the table next.

I love a book with an awesome dog that does not die during the book! I enjoyed the dynamic between Cody and Jake and all the good they do in the story. The world needs more characters like that. If you enjoy books with mystery, crime-fighting, and a strong female lead you will like this book. I thought the writing, in the beginning, was a little awkward and some of the aspects of the island situation were a little farfetched, but it was definitely original and interesting to consider. I did appreciate the ending.

Amy McKinley hit it out of the park yet again with book #7 of the Mafia Elite series! I LOVE this entire series—absolutely PHENOMENAL….the books get better each time—if that is even possible. Something About Aimee is an action-packed romantic suspense tale and a long way from the sci fi stories I have read by this author. Your emotions will be all over the place with the many twists and turns. SE has a wonderful way with words, the descriptive nature brings the reader in and doesn’t let them go They say opposites attract, right? The story is a slow burn romance but I would have liked to see a bit more heat/sizzle/passion/sparks for this couple.
Strong, independent, witty and street savvy Aimee saves Sheikh Qadir from danger, only she doesn’t know who he is. Doing so she has inadvertently put herself in danger but this girl from the street knows a thing or two.

I really enjoyed this book. I always love to read a paranormal story that has something different and this novel had that in spades. I also like strong women warriors which this book had as well. The story was interesting and kept my attention. I look forward to the next story in this series and reading more from this author.

Oh my goodness! My first meeting with Hailey was rather frightful ! She’s on her way to meet her stepdad when she gets taken by men in ski masks , what a way to start !!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the twists , thrills and you definitely need to expect the unexpected 😉 that’s all I’m going to say 😱🫢
Despite the fact that this book can be read as a stand-alone I enjoyed it sooooo much that I’m going to binge read the previous 5 ❣️📕😱😉

A hockey player and a gymnast. Both are lost in different ways. Evan is dealing with a host of mental health issues while Callie is trying to find her way in the world after losing both of her parents and being raised by her sister. She desperately wants her brother-in-law to adopt her too.
This book focuses on several real-world issues and I appreciate the author tackling these. Some of them are more difficult than others! I think that’s my favorite part of this story, is how the characters aren’t your typical picture-perfect people. They are flawed and that’s what ultimately makes this story loveable.
While this book is part of a series, I read it as a stand-a-lone. I am guessing the previous books cover some of the other characters that we read about in this story but I did not feel at a loss while reading this one. However, I do believe that I will go back and read the previous books for more context.

Book 7 is just as amazing and page turning as the six books that came before it. With every story, including this one, the author manages to captive you with a different scenario of the same mafia world. This is another amazing mafia romance and sports the enemies-to-over trope with the tale of Nico and Mia.
Mia, mafia princess from New York, is in trouble and the person she has chosen for help? Nico la Rosa an underboss of a Chicago mafia family, aka the enemy. Will Nico be able to look past the title of enemy to protect Mia and help her take down her own family?
I don’t know what you are waiting for if you haven’t started this series. I would highly suggest it. You will be enjoying every moment from page one of book one. I cannot recommend this author or her books more.
