This is the first-time reading Kay L. Moody and I have to say it was not what I was expecting. Flame and Crystal Thorns was one of the first Fae books that I have read. The world of Fae hasn’t been a world I’m that familiar with. After reading this book I found out that this a spin off from The Fae of Bitter Thorn series, that gives more background to the characters in this novel. Even though you can read this book without reading the other series I think I would have understood the book better. Chole isn’t the normal main character I am used to which was a change for me that’s for sure. This book left a great cliff hanger that leaves me wanting more. I am ready to read what come next for these characters.

Enjoyable paranormal romance story with auras, ghosts, mystery and romance. Morgan Cutler is an ER nurse with many years experience……and going through a near death experience of her own she now has the psychic ability to see spirits of deceased people. There were moments that I chuckled with all the dialogue with Morgan and the “spirits”. I love that Morgan was also opening up herself to something new and throw in a handsome ER Doctor…what can truly happen if Morgan does see evil or are things better left unseen??

Eventually, Morgan learns that she’s not the only one in her friends group who has these abilities, and her friends are eager and willing to help her learn how to work her powers and navigate the new world she’s found herself in. Now, if she could just get the male ghost in her house to behave appropriately, she’d be in a much better position.

This was my first book by this author, although I see that he has other series that have a similar vibe so I am definitely going to check those out. One of the things that I loved about this book was the strong female character. I love reading about female detectives that get the job done and the mysteries solved, which comes all the way from my childhood reading Nancy Drew books. I think it is so important for authors to write independent, capable female characters across all genres. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that enjoys mystery series. It kept me interested from the beginning to the end and made me want to go to the beach!

This is the first book I’ve read from this author or in this series, there are multiple books that come before this one but you do not have to have previously read those to understand this story. This story, Collateral damage, follows Hayley and Trey.
Trey still reeling from the death of his previous girlfriend meets Hayley prior to this book but chooses to walk away having not healed from his loss. Months later Hayley gets kidnapped, and Trey is asked by Hayley’s step father Allen,(who sits on the board of the hospital Trey works at and Hayley’s mom owns)to find and save Hayley from whatever fate awaits her, Trey will do anything to get Hayley back.
After some crazy twist and turns Hayley and Trey end up in a twisted web of lies and secrets that just might tear them apart or worse one of them could wind up dead.
A very slow burn, friends to lovers, mafia romance, with just the right amount of action. I can’t wait to read more in this series. It introduces you to many faces who have their own books in the series and if they are as good as this one I’ll be on the edge of my seat the entire time.

I will start by saying that I am not usually a fan of mafia books, but the synopsis of this book sounded too good to pass up. And I am so glad that I chose to read it!
Lily is everything a mafia princess should be. She is tough, takes no BS, and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself and the people she loves. Max was a pleasant surprise in a house where she can trust nothing and no one. While I do think that she trusts him a little too easily, it works for them. It also has a happy ending, which is a big plus for me.

I really enjoyed this book! This is only the third mafia book I have read and I was not a fan until I read this author. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series. It has a happy ending, which I prefer. There was also a nice little twist at the end that I was not expecting at all. I would totally recommend this book.
Loved reading this tale about Grace, a young woman who learned to fight as a means for survival, and then fighting in an underground circuit as a way to make money to help support her mother and sister after her father dies. The struggle of facing starvation and threat of losing her family due to her mother’s schizophrenia and their impoverished living conditions is all Grace can focus on in her small little world in the Bronx. But, when she gets offered a deal to fight legitimately while representing a freshly launched athletic clothing brand, it affords her an opportunity to finally think beyond how she’s going to pay for medications and care for her mother and when her next meal will be. Weighed by promises and ghosts from the past, Grace has to figure out how to overcome her emotions and fears and decide if fighting professionally is something she wants. With a cast full of colorful and diverse characters, the author did a great job weaving a story about overcoming hardships, facing fears, finding yourself, healing from the past, dedication and perseverance, and building community with those around you. I’m excited to read the next book in the series!

Truly a beautiful journey of love. But filled with the typical small-town drama. lots of laughs especially from Meemaw who you will know about from the other book in this series. which if you haven’t, I highly recommend.

I have loved every single book I have read by this author, so of course I had to pick up this one. This story is a bit different from what I have experienced from this author and I enjoyed reading every page of it. This book has twists and turns, paranormal aspects, hot bikers, and a strong woman. Dwarf and Raven’s first meeting wasn’t under very good circumstances. I found myself rooting for them because I think if they can work out some of their struggles they could be great for each other. Raven is trying to overcome her past but there are forces making that difficult. Dwarf has very little faith in women wanting him instead of wanting to go through him to get to his brothers. This is a must read, you will not be disappointed. I highly recommend this book.

This author never disappoints. I was taken aback a tad by the plot; just not a typical setting for this author. As I said before though, I was not disappointed. You really get to feel and understand Raven and Dwarf. Two amazing characters that are clearly underestimated, and of course they fit together like a puzzle piece. I have never read a book by this author and been anything less than excited. I am normally not a romance reader, but I make an exception because every single one of these books are fabulous from beginning to end!
I cannot divulge in the plot or the characters without giving away too much, so I will just say if you enjoy scary movies with some romance tied in, this novel is for you.

Having thoroughly enjoyed the previous books in this series, I was really looking forward to this latest novel and to reading Karen’s story, and I was not disappointed. I loved being back in Parker, Oklahoma, with its small town living and as usual I was fully immersed in the setting due to the descriptive narrative. Karen Posey is the local school teacher and she enjoys a simple, quiet and uncomplicated life, and although her natural beauty has attracted the attention of every man in Parker, Karen remains irrevocably unavailable. Karen believes she is destined to be alone and has developed a wall of defence around her heart in order to protect her, and the secrets she lives with.
However, a chance meeting with a man in the town’s grocery store may just change everything for Karen. Brody Cooper left Parker as a shy, nerdy kid but has reinvented himself and is now a successful, confident alpha male, who’s also rather sexy. Brody has had to return to his hometown to figure out his future, as his hard built career is in jeopardy due to no fault of his own. The last thing on his mind is love, but then he meets the rather aloof Karen whilst shopping and his interest is instantly piqued. Now he just has to win Karen over with his self confident charm, if she will let him. The characters are wonderfully detailed, and I felt like I was there with the likeable and relatable Karen and Brody. I was definitely cheering them on hoping they would get their HEA. The heartwarming storyline flows well and kept me happily turning the pages, and left me thinking about the characters long after I had finished the last page. A wonderfully written story and a enjoyable and engaging read.

I have read many books by this author and I have really enjoyed each one. I like how she is able to bring the character’s pasts into the books and makes a very vivid picture for the reader. I love how there is a nice mix of romance and drama. The characters are also really down to earth and believable. I really don’t want to put the books down. This one was the same.
The chemistry between the lead characters is electric and grabs the reader. There is enough drama and adventure to keep you glued to the pages. I also like how the books flow and really compliment all the books in the series. I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

Holy H*ll this book was smoking hot! I was instantly captivated by True and London’s story. Lonny is a true badass and I love how she easily banters back and forth with True and holds her own. True is hot and always ready, except he can’t commit if his life depended on it. When they first meet and have a scorching fling in the woods, they both didn’t realize the impact that encounter would have on each of them. Fast forward a year and thousands of miles later, and they meet again when Lonny unknowingly starts working for True’s company. Their attraction and addiction to each other is apocalyptic. Throw in a mystery full of danger and unexpected turns, makes this 5 star book a page turner. Be prepared to be up all night reading it! I can’t wait to read the other titles in this series.

Wow how can I put into words the feelings and thoughts this book has left me with? What an amazingly gripping story, Romance, Thriller, Family Issues, Paranormal and MC alpha males all rolled into one. Add a book hangover as it begs to be read in one sitting. The story follows Raven as she visits her old family home that shew has been left after the death of her Gramps. The memories of abuse and twisted family issues follow her and the fear of the past coming back to haunt her literally. An accident in the middle of the night brings Dwarf into the picture, an ex-marine with his own past to manage. Dwarf and his brothers in the Wicked Warriors MC are all part of bringing the conclusion to the nightmares that follow Raven. This book is a must read if you enjoy a rollercoaster of feelings and getting caught in the web of images woven for you by the author.

The True Garza is about True, a vice president of Red Cage Security Company and London (Lonny), a former agent turned private contractor. Lonny has had a rough year with an assignment gone bad and the death of her father, so she decided to move to LA to live with her sister. However, in LA there is a hot fling she had over a year ago, in her dark time, that she can’t get out of her head, True. Well, she ends up working for his company but wasn’t aware at the beginning because when she knew him he went by a different name. Each had been pining for each other over the last year, however, the biggest problem is True is a big time playboy with commitment issues. The two of them form a really strange, sexual relationship – really an addiction to each other. However, while she is falling for him, he is a commitment phobe, so really where will this go. Will she stay? Will she leave him for a commitment? Do either of them have the willpower to leave this addiction? Only time will tell!
Let me put it this way, I want to go read the first two in the series if it is anything like this one. Where do I begin with all the things I loved about this book? One, I read it in 24 hours! Two, the main characters were amazing. They were playful, tons of banter, and amazing dom-sub smut!! However, Lonny is a badass, takes no shit, defends herself, and is an honest female lead. Granted, she has a submissive weakness for True, but doesn’t everyone have a weakness! While she is addicted to True, she is also very self-aware of that fact, but also stands her ground with him too! True, well you can feel all the angst he is going through over Lonny and I was totally there for it. This was one of my favorite types of books, a good plot with great smut!!

I won’t waste your time by giving a rundown of the whole book, but I will STRONGLY suggest that you check out this author and this book in particular. Even if you haven’t read the others in the series, it is a complete standalone. Lonny is a quick-witted, smart-mouthed, feisty little rebel and I just LOVE her character. This author is a master at setting the scene for all of your senses. You truly feel like you are experiencing the action right along with them. And, oh boy, is there some serious action and delicious smut! It took a bit longer for me to experience the “True Effect”, but it was inevitable for fall for True as well. Their chemistry is off the charts hot and I insist that you start reading STAT!

The True Garza (Red Cage Book 3) by S. Ann Cole. This series has got me under its spell. Each story keeps getting better. This is the 3rd book in the series but can be read as a standalone. Its the story of Garza boys and their Red Cage Security company. The business has made them all very wealthy and the dream of many women. London meets True its supposed to be a one night fling but ends up being a flaming 7 day and night steamer! Not thinking they will see each other again because True is not cut out for relationships, but when True turns up as London’s new boss it complicates things. She wants more but knows True is not cut out for that and she has baggage of her own. Will they be able to keep away from each other or will the be able to make a relationship work between the two? Hold on tight cause this read will keep you flipping pages thru the night!

During a picnic, Maia the Mermaid makes an ice cube necklace for Trezzie.
When Fig almost drowns in the water, the ice on the necklace becomes bigger and helps Fig stay above the water, being used as a life preserver.
Reading this made me feel like I was back in 5th grade science class. Learning about the phases of water. Now only did I enjoy the pictures but it was great to learn about water and how it freezes.
I think I am starting to get into middle grade books again after so many years of not reading them.
So many great things to say about this book! The illustrations are beautiful and very colorful, first and foremost. They will capture the eye and grab the reader’s attention! I love the story too! Maia and Fig are having a picnic and Maia is showing Fig how to make an ice cube necklace. Fig has a lot of questions about the ice cubes….why are they getting smaller…how do they float on water…how to blow the hole to add the string. Then, Fig falls into the water and the necklace is thrown to her to help her to safety. I love how the author intertwines science with safety in this cute little book! The last page goes into more scientific depth about ice and water. There are elements in this book that will appeal to all young learners!

The Mermaid and the Ice Cube, Mermaid Science, by Lois Wickstrom, is part of an interesting series of books that help the readers see that science is all around them, not just in a classroom. Kids of all ages will get excited about learning science from everyday objects. The illustrations are beautifully rendered, with fun colors and scenes. This is a fast read that can lead to a fun learning experience by talking about and recreating things the characters did in the book. Maia and Fig are having a picnic when Trezzie, the mermaid, shows up. Trezzie loves the way the ice cubes sparkle and asks them to make her a necklace out of them. As they do they talk about all kinds of things about ice, water, and how it changes forms and melts. When Maia gives Trezzie the necklace, Fig (who can’t see Trezzie because she doesn’t believe in mermaids) sees the necklace floating in the water and decides to jump in after it. As she’s swimming for the necklace she has a leg cramp, will the mermaid she can’t see save her? I found this to be a great way to open up a discussion on water safety with the readers. The author has not only brought science to everyday life, but the need to believe in things, and also how it’s important to be safe and think before you act. I think parents, teachers, and kids alike will love this book and learn from it. The last page goes into more scientific details about water and all its forms, so even adults or older children can learn or refresh their knowledge.

He is used to daddy taking care of him and when he gets cut off he’s not sure what to do. He has to go back to his law degree and work with his dad to earn a living. Levi is not used to being turned down by women but when his new boss, Kindle James lights his fire she sets him straight really quick. She is his boss only, nothing more, nothing less. The only problem with that is once Levi sets his sights on something he doesn’t quit until he has it. Such an enjoyable contemporary romance story that was hard to put down. I loved the characters in this book. Levi is all about having fun, partying and having the looks and money to go along with it, but you learn deep down he also has been hurt in is past. Chance encounter Levi meets Kindle….and I could not help but to love her in this story. Kindle is a strong and career driven woman who know what she wants…..but she does not want Levi. When Levi’s father puts Kindle in “charge” of Levi in their law firm things change. There are definite sparks between Kindle and Levi, and I was rooting for them throughout the story. Will Kindle take a chance on Levi? Definitely read and find out!
This book was a great read filled with sizzling chemistry and great characters!

The thing I loved most about this book is the realistic dialogue. It’s the kind of dialogue I can relate to. I liked that it was straightforward and not full of fluff wording! Read as a standalone, it was easy to get into, realistic, and steamy!
Everyone has known a guy like Levi, and it is nice to see him challenged by someone. Kindle is a good character and the author builds their tension very nicely. I enjoyed their time together and was satisfied with the ending. The jealous interlude serves as a tangle to the ultimate goal, which I understand as a method, but I am glad it didn’t last longer than it did!
I would definitely try other book series by this author!

I loved the unique point of view this book offered. I’ve read a lot of books, and have never come across one like this. Absolutely loved it! The book had both steamy and heart-filled moments. I loved the way Jax and Lennox were drawn to one another. I enjoyed reading every page!
