This was the first book I have read by A.D. Brazeau and I’m positive I will be reading more. I just finished book 1 and I already can’t wait for book 2! This was a great paranormal romance book about a young girl, Greer, who is 22 that is kidnapped and taken from her home in Paris and brought to New Orleans along with other women who are to live at a convent and be married off.
At night, Greer thinks she is dreaming about a dark-haired man that comes to her at kisses her wrist at night. He is her dark Knight. Until one night, Greer finds these are not dreams, but its real live monsters.
Theron, the vampire who Greer “dreams” about, is an outcast from the Underworld by his old Master, Hades. Theron, who has never felt love starts to feel for Greer and her friends and that puts him at odds with his new master, Rook.
This is a new prospective on Hades and Persephone, one in which I didn’t mind at all. I cannot wait to continue the journey in book 2.

The Last Cabin Girl: A totally gripping thriller full of twists by Tom Swyers

This book took me on a ride. In the very beginning of the book, we are met with our main character Josie. She is a mother that has fled to an old family cabin from her abusive spouse along with her two children –Tracy and Jack. Josie is doing her best to keep her kids safe and out of harms way. This is made difficult however when ex-husband Eddie has found them and is determined to destroy what Josie is trying to build for her family. To make things more complicated, Josie stumbles upon a dead body when she is on a walk. This then leads her down a rabbit whole of investigations and conspiracies. What made this book especially interesting to me is that it was set during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the book clearly portrays this with how prevalent the virus is in the story of this novel. I recommend this book for anybody that would like to see fiction at work during very relevant and recent world events.

This is a great book with strong, interesting characters. For me this whole book really was about them. Their connection was undeniable and I found myself behind them dvery step of the way.
It felt like the story has been built around the characters and it fit them so well. The boom was fast paced and had a great momentum from start to finish. This was am enjoyable book that I would recommend..I looking forward to Book 2.

I personally loved this book from the very beginning. The characters are very well formed, I feel like I could visually see every person that was described. Greer is a strong woman, being thrown into this new world. Finding out who your real mom is has got to throw anyone for a loop. Theron is the man that Greer falls for and who also protects her and worships her. I am ready to read the rest of the series.

This book really started with a bang! I really got into and enjoyed the storyline and I was able to connect with the characters and draw me in even deeper.

Greer has been living her life in Paris, carving out her own little niche in the world as she searches for her mother. Life is turned upside down when she is kidnapped and thrown aboard a ship to New Orleans. Thrust into a convent waiting for her would-be husband to pick her up, she knows this isn’t the life she wants. Greer isn’t alone though, she has a nightly visitor she dreams of.

As much as I enjoyed this book, I really felt like some of the information at the end came a bit fast and furious and could have been strung out a bit more for impact. Overall, a great read and one I would recommend.

What a wonderful read. I absolutely love historical romance but this was such a different read for me, I’m used to Regency London reads and I really loved that this one was so different. The setting for the story made it such a unique and new read for me. Griffin and Julia were lovely characters to read about, their romance a slow burn one but a true joy to read about. The author wrote about their relationship so beautifully, that added to the wonderful descriptions of the setting for the story this book really was a pleasure to read. I would absolutely recommend this story to other readers and also other lovers of historical romance – you will not be disappointed and I am really looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

This is the first book in the Apollo Ascending series. I really enjoyed this book. The mixture of Greek mythology and romance is unique and very enjoyable. The author does an amazing job with this story and even though it isn’t exactly like the mythology story it was still really enjoyable.

Apollo is half human and half God. He had been living on Earth among the mortals and wants nothing to do with asending to the relms of the Gods. In an attempt to make Apollo take his rightful position as God of the Sun Zeus decides to send him to stay with Prince Hyacinth in an attempt to teach Apollo how to follow his father’s orders.

Prince Hyacinth is watching over the throne the Kings absence. The Prince has secrets he is hiding and having the son of Zeus showing up is the last thing he needs. Already feeling hatred for Apollo they were definately set to make each others time miserable.

However as they spent more time together these feelings changed to the surprise of everyone including Apollo and Hyacinth.

With secrets unravelling, sisters driving both men to distraction and the pressure from Zeus for Apollo to ascend to his throne do they even stand a chance of creating something together? Or is their feelings for each other and relationship doomed from the beginning?

This story was wonderfully woven! The paranormal was integrated perfectly with the historical aspect. I adore Greer as a character, she’s someone whose story I would wish to be a part of. The byplay between her and Theron was fabulous. I also really enjoyed her friendship with the other girls, and the growth of their bond even in a short period of time. Strong female leads are always something I enjoy, and this author wrote her beautifully. I will definitely be looking up more of their works!

This is the first time I have read from this author. I love a good enemies to lovers story but this author exceeded all my expectations. This is a quick read but the story line will hook you. It only took me only a couple of hours to devour this amazing story.

Zennie can’t believe that someone is going to tear down her history. She is so mad at Colton Sage that she hates him but she doesn’t even know him. Zennie wants to fight to keep the plantation standing and Colton is ready to build his dream. When Zennie meets Colton she feels something she has never felt before. Will Zennie save her history or will she build a new future?

MM Greek mythology romance. It is an original story and loose fantasy retelling of Apollo and Prince Hyacinth. I enjoyed the premise of the story but felt that there was so much more the author could have given when it came to the romance side of the story. I felt the story was aimed more towards a younger age group YA or NA as their relationship is an enemy to lovers’ story and is not an explicit steamy romance in the narrative. The story is told from several POV which I love because it gives the characters much more depth. Although I didn’t quite understand Epiphany’s role to be as present as it was but I did like her kicking arse and fighting for what she wanted. I enjoyed the fun and easy banter between some of the characters and enjoyed the historical mythology behind the story. It will be interesting to see what the second book brings.

All in all, it was an interesting and fun tale that those who love Greek mythology retellings and MM enemies to lovers’ romance stories then grab a copy today.

Interesting. Yeah that’s the best way to describe it coming from me. A Veil of Gods and Kings piqued my interest because of the Greek Mythology vibe running through it. I love Greek/Roman Mythology! I’m also willing to give any author a chance, who is willing to weave that into their books. I was a bit confused with certain aspects in the beginning, but I think that’s because I wasn’t grasping the idea when I started the book. That definitely changed though, the author kept me intrigued.
Apollo has no desire to ascend to his rightful deity position. He dislikes the Gods and everything they stand for, especially his father Zeus. He would rather remain among the human world with sister Temi. He dislikes how the Gods take advantage of the mortals and take anything offered despite the mortals suffering & starving.
Zeus, fed up with Apollo’s defiance, gives him an ultimatum. He has 1 year to get his mortal life out of his system and ascend. If not Zeus will go after all and everything he cares about, including Temi. During that year Apollo is to be mentored by Prince Hyacinth. To learn how to be a proper deity at ascension and make his fellow immortals proud.
Prince Hyacinth, is overseeing his Kingdom while his father is away. The true test to see if he’s ready to lead. Last thing he needs is Apollo hanging around. He’s selfish & arrogant, but he could destroy his kingdom as well.
How does Apollo handle his ultimatum?
Do Prince Hyacinth & Apollo get past their differences?
So many characters and so much story you need to jump in and read it for yourself. This book is definitely for those who would like a different take on Greek/Roman mythology(yes it’s fictitious.) So if that’s your thing this is definitely for you. If this is not your typical thing, could I sway you with exceptional character growth? Especially for Apollo and Prince Hyacinth. It’s worth checking it out all the way around.

At 22, Greer is taken from her life in Paris and forced into New Orleans with a group of girls, all given a casket-shaped suitcase they’re told not to open. Suddenly, she’s promised to a man she’s never met and living in a convent until she’s ready to be wed.

At night, Greer dreams of a tall, dark man she calls the Dark Knight and it soon becomes clear that he’s more than a dream. He’s a monster, and there’s other monsters feeding on her and several of the other girls that are with her. Now Greer has to figure out what she can do to save herself, and her friends.

Theron has been cast out of the Underworld and forced to live amongst the vampires, feeding in humans. When he finds his human intriguing and discovers himself falling for her, he’ll stop at nothing to find a way to help her and her friends even if it puts him in danger from Hades himself. Now Greer has more than just her friends and herself to worry about. Can she save them all?

Blood and Ravens was a fun, enjoyable read. While it’s on the shorter side, it held a good structure and a strong storyline without feeling too rushed. I enjoyed the characters and how they had clear personalities despite all being stuck in one place and just kind of thrown at the reader (this is to be expected based on the way the story is).

It presents dilemmas and questions about the things we would be willing to do for those we love while also showing an interesting romance between the characters. If faced with evil, I’d definitely want Greer on my side.

Can’t wait to see what’s next for the Casket Girls.

This is about the 3rd or 4th Greek Mythology book I’ve ever read. While there were some characters mentioned I had familiarity with, there were some I did not. I wouldn’t say that impacted my understanding of the story. The book is written well enough that the sequence of events matched the characters expressions which I appreciated. I don’t think Pip’s POV really added much substance unless the series is going to focus more on her and she’ll develop more as a character. The romance between Cyn & Apollo isn’t necessarily my style, but for steam it’s not that steamy. It’s enough to get your imagination going, but the detail isn’t strong with it. Because the book finishes with a cliff hanger, I would like to read the next book.

I really enjoyed this historical romance very much. The couple were loveable and I also learned some history of the vineyards in Portugal which I enjoyed.
Julia is taking care of her family winery when she meets Griffin. Griffin has come to Portugal to obtain the vineyard. When these two meet there is an instant connection. The more time they spend together the closer they get. There is a twist and the vineyards are at risk, will Julia be able to save them? Will Griffin help her?

Overall this was a great read. Julia was a strong willed woman that is very protective of her family and Griffin grew on me as the story progressed he came across arrogant in the beginning. After reading this story I would love to visit Portugal and the vineyards there. The author does a great job with her writing and you feel like you are right there. This is my first read from this author. I look forward to reading more from this series. Grab a glass of wine 1-click and get started today on this wonderful story.

This book right here is a must read for every romance lover out there, regardless of what you prefer. Not only does the author pack in a lot of steamy scenes but this book is action packed from page 1 to the very end. It took a while just to catch my breath after this one, it is a keeper for sure and one of those books I will read over and over again.

Morgan, the sexy as sin yacht designer on the advice of his most trusted friend hires a PR firm to maintain his image in a bidding war for the Saudi Princes yachts that he wants built. Unfortunately, he doesn’t realize just what he’s getting by using Vandana Hillman’s PR firm. After all, Vandana’s life has been on the fritz lately, and Morgan isn’t one to settle down as he has already left a streak of broken hearts behind him. In order to effectively manage the PR for Morgan, Vandana needs to fly to Monaco to be where her client is and in the center of the action. It’s only for ten days, how much can go wrong even with the world’s sexiest bachelor? Can Vandana keep her head on straight when her emotions and heart is in a mess? Is this the job she’ll regret for the rest of her life?

This book is a must read for anyone that likes steamy romance with a boatload of action(pun intended). If I could give more than five stars I definitely would for this one.

I love all books about the Greek Gods and this was definitely a new one for me! This is an enemy to lovers’ romance that will leave you on the edge of your seat. This book had me pulling for the characters at some points while screaming at them when they acted irrationally at others.

Apollo, half deity and half mortal, is torn by the forced ascension Zeus wants to be God of the sun and his mortal life with his half sister! After a veiled threat and ultimatum, Apollo is sent to spend a year with Prince Hyacinth, who is the apple of his father’s eye and seems to never put a toe out of line. Unfortunately Apollo cannot stand Hyacinth but complies to protect his mortal sister. As the year goes on and they spend more time together each realizes that the other is not at all like they thought from past experiences. What happens when the feelings become too much with a time clock that is not in their favor?

As you read more secrets are unraveled and things aren’t as they seem for Apollo or Hyacinth and his kingdom. This is a book that shows how first impressions impact the way we see others and that past experiences impact how you act thus impacting others perceptions of you! If you like romance, with secrets and a little mythology thrown in then you should definitely give this book a try. You will not be disappointed!

This is such a great children’s book! Every year on his “Unbirthday”, Caspian receives a gift from his grandfather. This time it was a magic pencil that wrote words on the notepad by itself. The words confused Caspian until he realized they were things that other people around him needed or needed his help with. A wonderful story about helping others in need with a little bit of science information thrown in too! The-Know-It-All-Pencil is beautifully illustrated. The artwork is vivid, and descriptive of what is happening in the story. All in all, this is a good book for children to read, and I would love to read more of this series. I absolutely recommend this book to other parents to both read for themselves and read with their children!

The Last Cabin Girl is a suspenseful, twisty thriller that starts a couple months before the COVID pandemic takes place. The main character, Josie, lives in a small town in New York State. Josie is a waitress, and a prospective nursing student who is trying to divorce her abusive husband. Her husband is the town doctor who is also known to be a drug dealer and do shady business. The story starts at the beginning of the pandemic and you see Josie seem very paranoid about many things in her life, the pandemic, her husband, and the secrets that surround her family. She lives in her family’s cabin that is very isolated, but also holds certain memories of her past. She had witnessed a dead body in the river the cabin lives along, but no one believed her. She finds herself in trouble when her husband and many of her husband’s associates go missing or are found dead. Did Josie have anything to do with this? Is her family secrets part of the problem?

This book had a slow start in my eyes. Reliving the first handful of months of the pandemic in this book didn’t give me the motivation to just fly through the pages and chapters. However, once you started to be given little aspects of how many secrets were floating around this town, it started to pique my interest. By half way through the book, I wanted to know the secrets and where this was all going. Well, I was not disappointed. The twists and turns of this book had me saying OMG. I had so many aspects in mind about what could be happening, some of them I figured out, but was pleasantly surprised that I would never have come up with some of the other ones presented. Worth the read if you like mysteries.

Juliet is very attracted to Ten but he doesn’t realize it and he’s attracted to her as well but he’s also super attracted to his new Coach Gage. Gage is super hard headed and is literally at his wits end with life but finds he’s super attracted to Juliet and Ten. When Juliet and Ten try to make some quick cash they end up on the bad side of trouble so they are also dealing with that. This is a new author to me, and I can say I will certainly be reading more by her.
The book follows best friends Ten and Juliet who support each other through the struggles of everyday life, as they navigate working and studying. Their relationship is put under stress when they enter the world of underground fighting, they find they have been evicted from their apartment; enter Gage who unwittingly becomes involved in their lives, offering them somewhere to stay and then mentoring Ten for a further fight, hoping to remove both Ten and Juliet from the sights of the local fight club boss.
Stepping up and doing the right thing has started a snowball effect of changes for Gage, he finds that he becomes further involved with both of his new housemates in more ways than one.
The author manages to pull you along this emotional ride of a story involving MF, MM and MFM interaction. It’s a steamy at times read that also has heart stopping moments of angst when the darker side of the storytelling takes over. Strong Alpha males, strong women, undercover cops and gangsters all thread together really well to a slightly surprising HEA.
This is the third book in the series, so I am going to have to back track and ready 1 and 2 soon.

Whoa! Although this author’s ability to have his words jump off the page so that you feel that you are living and breathing this crazy ride through Sanguinia, I would adore a cinematic version of this tale. The descriptiveness, the world in which they reside, and not to mention the tension that is built throughout this epic finale, is nothing to scoff at. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into, as I hadn’t read the series when I picked this novel up, but I did read the first installment to get a feel for the author’s writing and the characters, and was blown away. Even having missed a lot between the first and fifth novels, I couldn’t put it down, and will certainly be reading the remainder of the series so that I can be fully immersed in the struggles that Rowena, Vincenzo, Luka, and all the supporting characters. I very much look forward to connecting more with Rowena, along with the others, and experiencing her ups and downs throughout the series very soon.

I, as I’m sure is the case with many readers, always figure that things will be end amicably between vampires and humans within the written world adventures that we choose to embark on, but that’s only because we’ve been led to believe as much. This author has taken that idea away completely and allowed for us to see the struggles between different species, so to speak, and wove an intricate tale that hasn’t been done before. This was a whirlwind read, that will make you dizzy by the end, but so worth it. I can’t wait to read and review the rest of his novels and will recommend to others for sure!
