Loved the exotic setting, the chemistry between Morgan and Vandana, and the element of mystery and intrigue. Author did a great job of creating complex believable characters. I really liked Vandana’s perspective when her personal life had taken a nosedive. While we can relate with the heartbreak of an ending relationship, she decided to get away and take on a major professional undertaking at that moment. Life keeps going. She kept going. I found that inspiring. I also love the professional side of this where we have two people really good at what they do coming together for this project. So many angles to look at in this romantic read. Looking forward to more from this author!

Tessa is a doctor who spends too much time working. She helps out a girl who has gotten into some trouble. Now she’s the one in trouble and her debt collector is the only one to help her out. When things are done and over with everything things change. The quote I chose for Tessa is: “No! I’m done playing games. There are too many gray areas in our lives as there is. If you want something, ask for it.”
Thomas aka Locke is doing things that constantly are putting himself in danger. Then he sees the doctor that saved him in the one place he didn’t expect. This captivating suspenseful shifter story was just absolutely amazing. The plot is original, the storyline is full of surprises, suspense, and so much more. The characters are amazing, but really all of the components combined together really brought this amazing story to life. This is the first time that I have read a story by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. The cover of this story is absolutely beautiful and the synopsis just pulls your attetntion to the book but it doesnt prepare you for the amazing story. This would be a great “vacation” book. I enjoy a good romantic comedy once in awhile, and this was pretty dead on in that category. No deep, meaningful moments or a lot of intrigue, but funny moments with a few sexy scenes sprinkled throughout as well as some laugh out loud moments. It is comforting, once in awhile, to have a super light read where nothing surprising happens and everyone gets their sweet happily ever after. The characters were fun to read about and what you get to see between them is complimentary – and vague enough to make you feel like you see your family and friends in them. Basic themes, nothing deep but a fun daydream kind of idea. Like I said, a perfect book to read on vacation and just relax!

I have found a new favorite historical romance author! This book was quick for me to devour. I enjoyed how in addition to the romance part we also got to learn a bit about the wine making process.
The author has an amazing writing style. The entire book it was as if I were in the room the characters were in. Her attention to detail allowed me to imagine the room around me, smell the air, hear the characters speak out loud to me. I’m definitely excited to read more by her in the future!

But what all could go wrong with the perfect specimen of a man? Could this ruin both of their businesses if they were to become involved, are there more things happening then either of them see?
Oh my lanta! Where do I start with this book? I was absolutely enthralled from beginning to end. It was a hard read with the emphasis on the pandemic, as we’ve gone through that. I know I tend to read to go somewhere else and not worry about the real world. Throughout the entire story though, even as I could relate to some of the events – such as the pandemic – I still needed to know what came next. Josie’s story is so well-written and wonderful, through all the twists and turns. The rendering of her family and the truly genuine relationships they shared were just done so well. I like to think that I would get along with her, and would love to meet her in the real world. However, I know and appreciate that her story was told in a way to showcase parts of her life and how she reacted. The emphasis she placed on protecting her kids was amazing, and honestly, I think there’s a little bit of Josie in everyone. Thank you for this fabulous story!

This was such a sweet and heartwarming historical romance novel. I found myself really swept up by the story and the characters. The author has done a fantastic job at recreating life in 1870. Even though it is world’s away from life now I could easily imagine the way it was and the journey the characters go on. The characters for me are the part of this book though. They really come to life over the pages and the connections they develop are so relatable. This is a brilliant book that js thoroughly enjoyable.

This is a wonderful book that I truly highly recommend right from the start. The story flowed at a very nice rare I found, and the characters were very easy to love and had their different amount of appeals. It was a story that sucks you in right from the start and you really grow with the story and characters.
I found the story had its appeal yes, but its own essence of beauty. The fine details the author had used, were impossible not to love and embrace within your mind. I felt I was right there beside Julia and Griffin. They were different, sure, but when they collided more than their body and mind collided, but also their soul. I loved reading their moments together as they grew as people, but to fight for what they knew that they were destined to, to save the vine yard, but would they save their souls and hearts in the process? The story was a easy read, with lots of tender moments and moments that defined the rest of the book I found. Truly loved it and very much enjoyed this author’s writing and amazing book they wrote!
Needless to say, this book is for sure a must read. It has a lot to offer to reader for sure, all the reader has to pick up this wonderful book, and indulge into all it has to offer. It is a high recommendation from me with no doubt, and not one to be passed up or missed out on. Prepare for a read that will take you away!

Joanie is the strong female main character of this book. Through flashbacks you picked up that Joanie had a rough life growing up. She lost people who were very important to her. Those that were supposed to be there for her, were not, and would tend to make her life harder. The one thing that was always there for Joanie, was her job. She absolutely loved her job as an epidemiologist. She even was leading her own research, and the author did not skimp on any details in regards to this. Joanie’s knowledge on her research topic was very well explained to you. But one day her perfect job fell apart with a fire in her lab, losing everything. Yet another thing that would leave Joanie’s life. That disappointment did not stop there, soon after the fire, she lost her job, and her boyfriend, promises falling short.
A mystery appears, and you are sent on an adventure with Joanie and her friend to visit her recently inherited estate. There you learn more about Joanie’s life, and the mystery really begins, and so does the world of werewolves. Is there any correlation with her lab, the werewolves, and her grandfather? Does Joanie solve the mystery with the help of her friend, Lonna? With her recent broken heart, does someone sweep in and put it back together? Or does another heartbreak follow? Read this mystery/thriller to find out all the answers!
Wow, is the first word that comes to mind about this book written by Cecilia Dominic. With every page turned, Cecelia leaves you with a new twist or another clue to the ever-going mystery. Cecelia does not stop there as the author, she enthralls you into a whole different perspective of the werewolf world! This book was the new twist in the werewolf world I was looking for. At times the descriptions for each scene, thought, and conversation would get lengthy or maybe over explained. But, towards the end of the book that “over-description” weaved together and made complete sense, and ended up being important details that needed to be explained to bring the first book of the series to completion.
Although some of the details that I thought were “over-explained” some points did become a bit lengthy. I believe that is due to the fact that Cecilia had a lot of world building to do, since this is such a different twist to the werewolf world. The first couple of chapters seemed to really drag on and I had a hard time trying to get through those chapters. In some parts of the book the timing seemed to be very off. The way the author described scenes, the time seemed to only be a couple of hours, but you go to the next paragraph and it was a couple of days, or vice versa. Things also seemed to be missing parts in a scene, versus having a full description that would happen. Regardless of these flaws in this book, it was overall a great read. These flaws led me to want to rate this 4.5 out of 5 stars, but I cannot rate with half a star, so I gave the full 5 stars. I loved the different view and writing style of a werewolf book, and how much scientific knowledge she had and expressed throughout the book.
If you are looking for a twist to the werewolf world, a mystery, a thriller, with a pinch of romance, I would highly recommend this book. Or if you are looking for a way to pass time, or escape your daily life, I would still recommend this book!

I am generally not a big fan of Historical Fiction. However, this story has me rethinking my views. I absolutely loved the tale of Margaret and her tales of being an independent woman long before her time. Margaret was born into poverty and if there was one thing she knew from the time when she was young, it was that she would do anything to keep herself from living like her mother. Margaret is willing to betray her family and leave what she has always known behind. She is also willing to take many risks and even put herself in danger. This story takes place in the time just before, during and after WWII. It gives a look at what it must have felt like to be a woman who yearned to be independent of men during this time, to be independent of their family, and who just wanted to live their own life. This story is very fast paced and is definitely filled with twists and turns. While I give this book 5 stars, there were some characters that I wish were more fully developed. I wish that, as readers, we were given more of a look into the women back at Margaret’s home town whom she was forbidden from seeing. I also would have loved more of a look into the characters at the diner. Once the story was over, I found that I felt it had really just begun. I find myself yearning for more. I want to know more about what happens to Margaret and her girls as well as the rest of her family. I can see how this book could definitely be given a sequel. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of women’s fiction, especially those who love a strong female lead character.

Joanie Fisher is an epidemiologist who works for a research lab, that is until it burns down, destroying all her research and her job in the process, this also means the end of a an affair with her boss, who finished what they had on the same day as he terminates her employment, but on the same day a few weeks after nearly being killed by the fire, she receives a letter from a lawyer asking her to meet him at his office to go through her grandfathers will. When she gets there, she overhears a heated discussion in the office and finds that it concerns her grandfathers estate and therefore her, but when the client storms out, she cannot help but notice that he is a handsome, but dark storm blowing past her, this does not help with the distracting news that the estate she will be inheriting is worth multi-millions of dollars, but that there is also a condition attached to it, she has to move in immediately and that the lawyer will arrange the movement of all her belongings and that she doesn’t have to worry about a thing.
As she is trying to settle in to her new surroundings, she finds that she is the centre of attention and this is not somewhere she wants to be, however, she does use it to her advantage and tries to find out what is going on in and around the mansion and why people are acting suspiciously. Meanwhile, another mystery appears and Joanie tries to see how this fits into everything, however, when it turns out that one of the secrets her grandfather has is that the community is full of werewolves and not just that, but these shifters are somehow now depending on her and her research to help cure them. The mysteries deepen and danger surrounds Joanie and the shifters as things just seem to go wrong all around them, especially when a shadowy figure seems to keep following them around, as well as the sounds in the woods surrounding the manor escalating and keeping the locals scared, but as a deeper conspiracy is unearthed, Joanie becomes convinced that there is an ever bigger picture than they first suspected.
Will Joanie and the shifters she is trying to help be able to find the source of the information they need to crack the code behind the werewolves transformations, or will those trying to kill them get there first? This is a thrilling fantasy adventure with shifters, science and a heroine who is determined to win involving multiple twists and turns, until you become so lost in the plot that you will have to read to the end to figure out the who, what, where and why as you become more and more invested in the characters within.

I found this book to be entertaining. It kept my attention as I was trying to figure out the situation in my mind as I was reading. I loved the details given about the manor. I’d love to see something like that in person! There was a lot of romantic entanglement that I thought got in the way of parts of the story but wasn’t a complete distraction for me. I also didn’t realize that a certain element included in this story wasn’t inspired by a recent event, as this book was written a few years ago. That was probably my most favorite part of this book but in trying to keep from any spoilers, you’ll have to read the book to find out what I’m talking about.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This was a fascinating story. The last thing Greer remembers was being on the streets of Paris. When she wakes, she’s on a filthy boat with lots of girls heading for a convent in New Orleans to get married off. At least that’s what they think. Theron and the others come in the night while they are sleeping. The others barely remember anything but Greer, somehow, remembers Theron visits. Greer tries to get to the bottom of this mystery as Sister Francis is having the girls meet the men they will be marrying. Nothing is as it seems. There are secrets everywhere. Plot twists will get you when you aren’t looking. This is a story that will get you when you aren’t expecting it. Vampires, Demons, and a few other surprises just make this POP! One of the best paranormal stories I’ve read in a bit. The characters aren’t all sugar coated and agreeing with everything. There are several characters like Sylvie that show their strength as they story goes along. Greer shows how much courage, resilience, and power she has. She is totally putting together a rebellion. Theron shows his love for Greer. The story was very good. The plot twists were in there so well that you didn’t see them coming. BAM, plot twist! These girls are butt kickers and survivors. The whole tone of the story is surviving. I highly recommend this series. This is book 1. I can’t wait to get book 2.

A tough female lead, enemies to lovers, clash of history romance. Zenni is our female lead who is fighting for her family’s history through a slave plantation in our little Georgia town of Everwood. Colton, our male lead and trying to destroy the plantation to “break the chains” of history holding back the town. This is our conflict and throughout the book we get attraction that builds into something more. Yet held back by the single conflict that is the basis of the tie that binds our characters together. There is a lot to like about this book. The characters are strong, and the history of the plantation comes through beautifully. There is heartbreak in the past that shapes our characters that feels a little flat, but it still feels close. The scenery and setting could use a bit more fleshing out, but not so much that you don’t feel like you can almost recognize the town from an old memory. While not a “rip your heart out” love story, this one will definitely keep you rooting for our leading lady!
This book is my type of book. It drew me in from the beginning and I just loved it. There is just so many twists and turns. You wouldn’t expect it to end the way it did. I love reading books where you can’t predict the end and this story does an amazing job of that. Josie the main character was my absolute favorite. She goes through things that are related to real life and that’s what made me love her and made her my favorite.

This is a 5 star read. A beautiful location that blossoms with vines full of grapes and flowers. Unfortunately, there is a plague going around among the grapes (which is a fear). Julia is trying so hard to keep and improve her her vineyards. It is her legacy for her son (a Portuguese tradition). Griffin is an Englishman sent to snoop and make sure she is running things right. Sparks ignite but can they overcome culture differences? I loved this book because it was so well written. The descriptions made you feel like you were there in the vineyard or on the casa with them. The people, oh my, they were characters of their own. Aunt Rosie feels like a bossie drama queen but Julia didn’t want to hurt her feelings. Julie has such a caring and compassionate heart. Griffin felt like he could be good but it took a while for it to show. I felt the story really showed how things kind of intertwine. Can the culture intertwine? That’s the big issue. This is a beautiful historical romance that leaves you feeling good. I highly recommend it.

I just had to give this book a read when I glanced over the summary. Upon reading it, just like the characters, I had strong opinions about the plantation and the story itself until it unraveled in front of my very eyes through the lens of the characters. I surprised not only myself but the author captured different opinions with the way the characters expressed their opinions and stories but I haven’t always been a fan of BWWM and with books like these, I’ve surprisingly grown to love them. They’ve taught me lessons I can’t believe I’m still learning in life through reading about them. This book will have you questioning yourself in not just the story but in the very way everything unravels which makes this just the read to delve into during your downtime like I did.

Small town romance with a twist. In this novel you once again see your loved bad boys with Knox and Gage being front and center along with a new arrival Josie. This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The Wolf’s Shadow is a great read that will have you hooked from the beginning. It’s the first book in the Lycanthropy Files Series and a must read!
Joanie finds out that her grandfather is dead and has left everything he owns to her. She also learns that he’s been keeping an eye on her and her career from afar. Now she’s learning the family secret and might be able to help. The quote I chose for Joanie is: “That you’ll be there with me. I know sometimes I’m going to want to kill you, especially when your animal brain is taking over, but I need you here.”
Leo may be new to town, but he’s there for a good reason. Dr. Fischer just might be the answer to the CLS. Now he might just have his chance of being with someone who understands him. The quote I chose for Leo is: “After I met you, and you were so feisty with Kyra, I couldn’t help but fall for you. And then you never let my wild moods intimidate you. It was like you saw beyond all the CLS stuff. You could say I was your greatest admirer. Still am.”

This book had a great premise. With my love of all things medical and supernatural, it was a well blended story that kept my attention from beginning to end. Joanie, the main female lead in the story, is strong beyond words although she thinks of herself the opposite way. This book is a mystery from the beginning. I recommend not rushing through it as it is jammed with clues you can not miss. I was guessing until the very end. The suspense will keep you reading the mystery will keep you wondering who is lying and who can be trusted. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Another new author for me, I read this story because I had two friends that insisted I must read it. They told me I would love that it took place during WWII, and they know I love books with history. They were not wrong. This was a phenomenal read. I honestly did not want to put it down. The author has an amazing way of describing all the feelings and attachments going on with and around the main character. She had all my emotions going. I laughed, cried, felt angry, and struggled along with her choices and decisions. And her description of the war going on while the character was falling in love was beautiful. If war can be beautiful, this was it. And that’s hard to do with all the sadness and anger going on around you. I highly suggest you pick this book up. It’s not one to pass by.
The Cruiser is a steamy romance that takes us to Monaco and the life of luxury. Vandana is a PR agent who is hired to maintain Morgan, a yacht designer who needs to extinguish his playboy ways in order to obtain a Saudi Prince as his client. The first meeting of these two sets the tone for the entire story; extravagance and desire. I did enjoy the story and that the author added details to each character throughout the story. Vandana has some fantastic friends and Morgan’s family is so charming and lovely. Looking forward to the next in this series.

This book was decent and had some good spice but I couldn’t get myself to care enough about the Yacht talk and PR drama. It all just went right over my head so those parts bored me but the drama, spice, and romance kept me going. I really enjoyed the dual POV because the male perspective in romance books is always better IMO. Morgan was definitely a sexy successful player bad boy while Vandana was the has-it-all-together perfect seeming woman and I loved watching them break down each other’s walls and seeing the struggles each of them face yet they still admired and adored each other despite their flaws. I absolutely was a sucker for every time Morgan defended or protected Vandana because how could you not love a sexy ‘I don’t care about anyone’ type of man who shows you he cares about you by punching a guy right in the face for you in the middle of a business event. And don’t even get me started on his speech at the end because I absolutely cried at the sweetness of it all. I only gave 3 stars because I was personally bored with the theme of boats and PR but besides that, this was a great story.

Zenni Paker has 2 goals when going back to Everwood County and falling for Cole Sage is not one of them. She is back to assess the damage the recent hurricane did to her grandparents home. They have been gone for several years, but she wants to see what can be salvaged. When Zenni hears that Cole plans on tearing down Everwood Estate, a place that has a lot of history for her family, she is a bit upset. Cole wants to move on from the past and build townhouses on the property which would bring more revenue to the city. Can they possibly come to a compromise?
I really enjoyed this historical romance. The author does an amazing job with the writing to actually transport you to Portugal. You feel like you are there seeing the sights and smelling and tasting the wonders it offers.
I love our leading lady Julia. She is a very strong lady who has had to overcome a lot to keep hold of her port wine business in a world that only sees men as capable for the job. Julia’s determination and passion comes through in this story as she fights to prove she is just as good as any man and save her sons legacy.
Griffin has been sent to visit Julia to see about money that was lent to expand the business. He goes there with one purpose and the thought of finding someone who would steal his heart isn’t that purpose. However the heart wants what it wants and Griddin and Julia’s story proves to be just as passionate as Julia is about her wine. However things are plain sailing and when secrets come to light and decisions made is the couple’s love going to be strong enough for them to survive or will it tear them apart.

The author Lois Wickstrom did a fantastic job on this book! My 8 year old and I read this together and not only did he love the story but the illustrations as well. Caspian receives a pencil and a pad of paper from his grandfather for his “unbirthday”. It’s not just any pencil though, it’s a Know-It-All pencil. A magical pencil that Leads straight to adventure. What adventures you may ask? I will not spoil it, you must read to find out and I promise you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great book to read and discuss with your kids. They will adore it.
This final installment in the series was exactly what I was hoping for. To be honest, the end of the epilogue really brought tears to my eyes. I wasn’t expecting to become as connected with some of the characters as I did, and to see it all sewn up in the sweetest way was brilliant and not once do I feel that this author lacked in her writing style, character building, nor the ability to make everything come ( I’d spell it differently, but that would be a little much for an online review,) and I haven’t felt this level of loss at the end of a series in a bit.
Juliet and Jonathan’s story is heart-warming, and proved that chivalry truly isn’t dead, even in situations where it’s doubted that it could be alive and well. Juliet cares deeply for her best friend, Ten, and has been in love with him for as long as she can remember. Ten very much feels the same way, but it isn’t until Gage enters their lives and brings a whole new world to the surface, allowing for truths to be found and told, and for all three of them to experience a first in life experiences, together and separately. Ultimately, I think this one was my favorite, as I’ve been rooting for Gage this whole series, knowing that beneath that beastly exterior, there had to be something softer there. Give this finale a read, you certainly won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!
