Paranormal Shifter books are some of my favorite. Never have I come across a swan shifter but love the idea. This story has everything you could ever want in a paranormal romance. Love, angst, beauty, evil and of course good triumphs. One note I do have is … I need these recipes! Seriously hire a chef to come up with the recipes for this food! I absolutely loved Ember’s story and cannot wait for the next one to come around.
The details of both the story and the characters are vast and in-depth! I absolutely enjoyed the introduction to Māori society.

King Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel Book 6) by India Kells – Review by Naomi McDonald

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the sixth book in this series. I highly recommend reading the previous books in order to get the full scope of the overarching story line.
Finally! We get to know Oz. It’s been quite a journey to get to this point, each brother bringing another layer to the picture. Loved Sasha’s character – brave, strong, resourceful. I found the direction that the author took Sasha’s past was interesting. It wasn’t what I expected and definitely added an intriguing layer to the character.
There are a lot of other things I could comment on, but it would contain spoilers.
Un-put-downable read!

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige – Review by Karyn Taylor

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 2nd book in the series but each can be read as a stand-alone. I had read, and loved, the 2nd book but haven’t read the first book, something I need to remedy.
This book come under the trope of Rock Star romance but it is so, so much more than that. The author tackles 2 difficult subjects, those being speech difficulties and dementia, and she does so in an amazing manner. She really highlights the pain and suffering that those with these issues, and their loved ones, go though. She does an incredible job of tugging at the heartstrings and taking you through an emotional roller coaster of a journey.
I adored both of the main characters Jared and Madison (Cookie). I totally fell in love with Madison’s character immediately, when I read the email reply that she sent to Jared. She’s a total badass who is damn good at her job and takes no prisoners. Jared really tore at my heartstrings. I just wanted to give him a huge hug so many times. Just how much can one man take in his life. The very fact that I had so many emotions just shows how well this author is at character building.
I loved this book and can’t wait to read more from this series.

Piasa (Legends, #3)Piasa by Maggie Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Piasa is the third in this series of shifter paranormal romances and it is a great read! My only criticism is that her books read very quickly. They tend to be very fast-paced, which is exciting but they end too quickly! I love how she focuses on different species each book although all within the same community. Another great soulmate story on the books!

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was truly amazing, from start to finish, I felt so much, I really felt for the characters and what they endured in life and what they had to do, well to get through life. The book was real as it could get with characters and emotions, and life being itself. This was a wild ride, one that I would surely ride again!

What got me truly with those heart strings of mine, was not the romance of a relationship with a girl working out for Jared, but with his own father. I truly felt the emotions of how he cared for him and wanted to be a good and good for his father type of son. You could tell at first glance that under some blankets issues were there, be it with Jared or his father. I really enjoyed their side of the story, getting all those emotions and feels, I learned things about Jared I did not expect to, and it really made me want to reach out and hug him truly! I loved how much Jared truly loved his father and respected him despite his life as a rock star, I did not expect that, but it was wonderful and full of heart, loved that!

Madison was his father’s nurse. Though she was a nurse providing care. I could sense she felt the same and cared for him on a friend level rater more than just patient and nurse type of level. I found the chemistry with Madison and Jared wonderful as well. It was very convincing and you knew the passion was there the more time they spent together, though you knew bot were reluctant to allow either of themselves to feel anything for one another, despite what ever excuse that may be. This is what I loved about this book, it was not your traditional guy meets girl, fall in love with a dash of issues. There was so much to this story that was full of heart and emotion! It is a rare read, and a delightful/powerful one!

This book as I have said was an emotional ride for me, some feels were nice and cute, others were tears flowing down my face, especially with Jared and his father, and others were just feeling of, well hope. I enjoyed this book and all sides/aspects that it brought on respectively. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend this must read novel to everyone that comes across it! Loved this amazing book!

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A five-star read that will embrace you and make you feel complete. This is number three in the Thrill of the Chase series and its like the cherry on the top of an ice-cream Sunday, it just makes the whole thing so much better. Jared broke my heart, his passion for music and his farther were just sublime and showed on the page, you could feel his emotions pouring out. Everything he has been through, just made sense at every point of the story, he stays true to his promise and broke me. Cookie well cookie is a sweet and strong as the food her nickname is after, strong like a biscotti, but sweet like a chocolate chip. Madison and the sense of love for those in her care, showed what a difference a good care giver can bring to peoples lives. It was odd as I was having a total am I on the right path moment and reading about Madison and her passion, re-ignited mine, showing me why my role is so important. This author is one of those that makes you stop and think when you see their name on a novel, they make you want to drop everything to start reading.

I wanted to read this book cover-to-cover without putting it down! The author takes readers on a journey with three young women from the 1960’s and follows their lives as they grow through adulthood. This book tackles several emotional events in the lives of the women. A plot twist threatens to derail the women’s accomplishments, adding mystery to the novel. I enjoyed the characters and felt as though I was a part of their journey as I read. I recommend this book for adults and older teens.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kissing Darkness (Dark Spell Series Book 5) by Isra Sravenheart. This book was a sit down and hold on to your hat kinda read. Once I started I couldn’t put it down. It is book 5 in the Dark Spell series but even though I haven’t read the previous books I caught on pretty quick. Its about Warlocks and Witches. Isra is a witch and she’s going to school for Warlocks and Witches. Isra was once friends with Everilda but something happened and Everilda lost all her powers and now she’s set on revenge. Astrid is a raven that is keeping a look out for Isra. There is also James who are planning on taking Isra down. Samuel has his work cut out for him to bring her to the Light. This is a story of Dark vs. Light and it keeps you guessing which way Isra is going to go. If you are craving a read that includes, romance, mystery and magic this is the read for you!

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a tremendous book! The emotions you feel while reading it. Yes, Jared is a rock star but he is also a son looking out for his father. What a beautiful and well-written story. You have the challenges with romance between him and his father’s nurse. There are also the feelings as he comes to terms with his father’s aging. I can find my myself relating to the characters and how they are feeling with the issues they are dealing with. This book is original, romantic and still one-of-a-kind. The plot was amazing because it flowed so smoothly back and forth from the rock band to his dealings with the nurse and the nursing home. Little Shay was my absolute favorite. The heartstrings get tugged and you just can’t help but love this story. Give it a shot. I highly recommend. It would get more than a 5 if I could give it.

I highly highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a Rockstar romance read, these guys are some of my absolute favourites! This series should be read in order for reader enjoyment!

I was taken on such a journey with this emotional romance, from heart break, to laughter, to surprise, to feeling fully invested, to the heart-warming moments in between, it really was a full circle kind of story.

I love how this author writes with so much detail, leaving nothing to the imagination, I felt so invested in this story and in these characters lives, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything played out after all the tears were shed.

I cannot wait to read more of this amazing series asap!!

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a rockstar romance and is part of A Thrill Of The Chase series. I loved the author attention to detail and how the characters are written in a way that makes them relatable. Both of the main characters are strong determined people who have their own minds and plans. The story is fast paced and has you hooked from the beginning.

Jared is a member of the band. The band is his whole life. The only other thing more important to him that his band is his dad.
With his dad in care Jared struggles with worry about whether his father is getting the best care. When the person who is supposed to following his instructions doesn’t do that Jared is looking to get rid of her.
The interactions between Jared and Madison especially at the beginning are full of angst as they both want the same thing. Jared wants his dad looked after and Madison wants to care for him the best she can.
It is important for Jared to honour a promise he made and that is his main focus, but when he meets Madison things change. Will they be able to work together to achieve something they both want?
As their relationship grows you are taken on a ride that will leave you in tears from both heartbreak and happiness. I was completely taken away with this story and the author’s writing really captives you and drags you into their lives.

After the death of her father, Harlow Fletcher leaves the life of bounty hunters and makes a new career for herself as a freelance charm collector. She’s really good at finding rare artifacts.

A sword catches her eye and she knows who might buy it. Unfortunately the sword has a life of its own and causes trouble for Harlow.

This was such a fun read and I loved Harlow. This was a fresh take on the genre and I really enjoyed reading about this world.

This is an author that I have enjoyed from the first book I picked up of hers. I enjoy her writing style as well as her attention to details. She pulls me into her stories from the beginning. This book is no different. This is a rockstar romance story that I really enjoyed. The characters are relatable and brought the story to life. I enjoyed their growth as well as the growth of the plot throughout the story. The characters’ chemistry is great and made them entertaining to read about. This is a story about a guitarist that is part of a band that means everything to him except for his father. He is one person that is more important and not only that but a promise has been made that he needs to keep. Then he meets her and things change for them. The one thing he never expected was to have her come into his life. What happens next you will have to read this book to find out. They are great characters that made the story for me. It is a fast paced, engaging story that I highly recommend.

I loved reading the poems. They really are spot on and made me think. The next portion of the book is filled with activities foe the reader to do. It was fun and I did learn a few things. The last portion is a QA. I can see why a few of the questions asked..because people are curious or nosy. The first one just flummoxed me. I think its because people with vision only think of colors…so seeing blank is unfathomable to someone not vision impaired.

This is a great book that is quick but very informative. The author does a good job getting her thoughts across. Very thought provoking.

I really enjoyed this book. It is the first book in a new series, and while there is some unfinished business, the main conflict of this book was solved. The world, magic, and how the two have been separated form the ‘mundane’ world is interesting and new, even with some recognizable names of supernatural people. Harlow is a likable character who makes mistakes and isn’t perfect, and the other characters we meet along the way are unique and intriguing. I loved how much character the sword has, and I cannot wait to find out what happens in the next book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book latched it’s grip onto me and had me hooked in good! I couldn’t wait to read what happened next and now I can’t wait to read the next book! Miss Fletcher is a charm “collector” and now she is in a WORLD of trouble!!! As an ex bounty hunter turned criminal, her specialty is finding rare magic-laced items. She does this by breaking into the houses of recently arrested criminals and stealing stuff for the highest bidder. It’s a pretty good gig until she loots the wrong item (a dragon sword) from the wrong basement. Within minutes of her stealing said sword, she realizes it was a HUGE mistake. The blade has a mind of it’s own and it has an anger management problem that causes Fletcher to be on the run from the government shifters and other bounty hunters. Now on the run, she has to find a way to prove her innocence, all while a murder weapon follows her around. This book really keeps you on your toes. Will she run away never to be seen? Will the murder sword turn on her!? Will it continue to kill everyone who threatens it and her? And where did it really come from? What does the government know and why are they lying about it all? Boy oh boy, read to find out!!!

First, I think the cover of the book is stunning! The story was very good and full of magic, mystery and one wild ride with a sword. Charm collector Harlow is all about finding items and sell them off. When Harlow’s “eye” finds a beautiful sword that is when the story takes off. Nothing like believing you have the person to buy the sword but the sword itself has a mind of its own. After being blamed for crimes she tries to find out what the sword is truly trying to bring. Mix in action, adventure, crime ……. This story was fun to read.

Paranormal shifters, deliciously described food, and romance bring a great combination to this new series. This is a new author to me and I was pleasantly surprised by the story and world-building.
