This was beautifully written. I fell in love with Gianna and Sergio instantly. What girl hasn’t dreamed of following her heart and it being exactly where she needs to be. I’ve never thought about visiting Venice before, but now I feel like I have. Goodness. This just made my heart happy. The suspense and the love just fit perfectly. This is a stand alone but i beg for you to read all of them! You wont regret it!

Sara Flemming was once a foster kid with penchant for running from her placement homes. All grown-up now, she chose to be a social worker for the same fostering agency that struggled to find her a home as a child. When a new young teen arrives on the scene, one with the same history of running as Sara, she seems to be the only one that can understand and get through to the girl. Circumstances collide to bring some childhood friends zooming back into her life, and Sara has to not only help her charge, but deal with unfinished business from the past. This story is well written and easy-to-read. I enjoyed the pacing of the story and getting to know Sara and Rachael. It was sensitive to the topic of foster care while also being unflinching in the realities that can sometimes occur. A good read, give it a go.

What a great action-packed book! So much happened that at one point I looked down, figuring this must be near the end, and I was only 40% finished. Andy Brand is a teen who has the power of fire and thermonuclear energy on his side. After being kidnapped so that he can be used as a weapon, he starts to figure out just what he is capable of. His whole life he has been taught to “Conceal and Protect” his ability, so as not to be discovered. He and his Kind have been persecuted for their differences throughout time. But when faced with grave circumstances he has no choice but to test his powers. Some great depictions of space travel and what that could look like decades from now. Really engrossing, great characters, and a fast moving plot. Definitely recommend, I loved it.

Moonlit Kiss: A Venice Romanfe by Amy McKinley is part of the Moonlit Destination series. As with all of this authors books I absolutely loved this one. I engaged with the story straight away and fell in love with the characters. Their story just felt so romantic from the moment I started reading. I thought the author did a great job of capturing what I always imagine the essence of Venice to be – love and romance. The story was easy flowing and just a joy to read. No matter which book I read by this author it never fails to entertain me entirely. This is a fantastic book and one I would highly recommend.

This book was impossible to put down. The characters are so intriguing and the storyline flows so nicely. Teagan has no idea how powerful she truly is and is only made stronger by the company that she keeps. I admit that I read these books out of order, but was pleasantly surprised that this read as a standalone just as well as a sequel to the original. I am sure that there were pieces that would have clicked better had I read them in order, but I was satisfied with the story itself and look forward to reading more from this author. If you haven’t read this yet, what are you waiting for?

Lighting the Path: Leaning into a Hopeful Future as a Special Needs Parent by Marcia Nathai-Balkissoon is a brilliant book that is not only emotional but also insightful. The author is a special needs parent and has used her experience to try and help others navigate the tough situation they face. I have never been in the position of those this book is aimed at and yet I still found myself drawn in by the author and her own journey. I thought the book did a great job explaining everything in simple, easy to understand terms which I can imagine is something needed in the circumstance. As the author had been through this herself everything she was writing had a greater depth behind it. This is a brilliant book that I think is a really helpful tool and is definitely worth the reading time.

I enjoyed this suspenseful romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites so far. I never hesitate to pick up this author’s books. They are well written and her attention to details give the story a realistic feel. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled in from the beginning. It is a fast paced story that the characters keep engaged and turning pages. This is a story about Gianna and Sergio. She gets her dream job and moves to Italy but once she is there she gets the feeling that she has been here before. She meets Sergio and the relationship grows. When she realizes she is missing a panel for her restoration job she turns to Sergio for help. She finds herself struggling with destiny and he finds himself struggling to convince her that the future is with them. What will happen with them and the missing panel? I enjoyed watching their relationship grow throughout the story. They made great characters and truly made the story for me. I highly recommend reading their story to find out what happens to them at the end.

I enjoyed this book. This is a book that I can relate to being a special needs parent myself. The author talks about having to face different circumstances and how to face them head on. This is a helpful book to those who are feeling overwhelmed by their child or the feeling of hopelessness. This author does a great job in descriptions that are understandable and easily done by another. I enjoyed how this book is written with heart and hope for a parent who feels stuck. It is worth the pick up for sure. I highly recommend this book.

Wow….wow…wow, this story. Definitely a very good read. Chase and Allegra the chemistry no doubt is undeniable. Chase, leader of large organized crime family, at first I really loved his bad boy persona. I also admired Allegra’s strong character going to school to better herself in law. Then something happens that Chase loses his trust and Allegra betrays him. Chase is totally ruthless, but Allegra cannot stay away. Their relationship makes me want to shake them both! It is very intense for sure. This book is very good read and I recommend if you like bad boy, dark mafia books.

I enjoyed this science space book. This is a new author for me which I enjoyed his writing skills and his attention to details that gave the story a realistic feel. The characters are connectable and made the story fun and entertaining to read. This is a story about Andy. He has been hiding his true self from everyone. But now that he has been kidnapped and pushed to limits that he never thought he could go. From here the story takes on betrayal, lies and you just never know if things are as they appear. This is a great adventure story that would be great for any young adult and anyone who likes space. I enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

I really loved this at the beginning. I don’t believe I have ever read a book with a MC like Chase. He is proud of his opulent and indulgent life. Knowing he is above everyone/anything-can do whatever he wants and NO ONE can or will say a word about it. If they do its because they don’t know who he is…YET. Most characters who are like him have flaws to figure out but this guy is PROUD of everything. With that being said it lost some of its zest the further the story went. Then it just seemed to end. No resolution. The story became more about the relationship or whatever they have going on and less about his job and such. That led me to be disappointed in the story as I felt its really more erotica and not much else.

Courage of Us by Brooke May is book one of the Code of Honor series.
Patience and Duke have been best friends forever. Now they’ve graduated and Patience is sure nothing will tear them apart. She finally gets the nerve to tell Duke how she feels and things escalate from there. The next morning, Patience’s world falls out from under her when she wakes up to find Duke gone. Patience does the only thing she knows how to do and that is to keep moving forward as painful as that is. Seven years later, Patience doesn’t even recognize herself but she finally takes the steps to reclaim her life. As an unexpected surprise, Duke is back home and he is looking to make things right with Patience. Will Duke be able to convince Patience to hear him out? Is it too late for them?
I couldn’t put this book down! I really enjoyed it! I felt for Patience. She was just making the best out of a situation and it really spiraled out of control for her. I’m glad she was able to stand up for herself because so many people aren’t able to.

Tally, a brave, strong and intelligent 13 year old, is devastated at the death of her mother. But when her father gives her a gift left behind for her, she discovers she’s received so much more than a pendant. Inside the pendant lives an angel! Tally sets off around the world with her father, angel in tow. But when she uncovers a kidnapping plot to take over India, she steps out of her comfort zone to save the children.
A great read, however, I do think some of the themes would be a little deep for children on the younger end of the target age range(8-12). I think some of the angel/demon/god talk might be confusing for the younger reader. I am looking forward to reading the 2nd installment. Tally is a loveable main character. 4/5 stars

This is the first book in The Stone Series. This is an audio book and is just under 14 hours. This story follows Krystina, a woman haunted by her past, and Alexander, a billionaire. They both have secrets from their pasts that neither were willing to budge on. Krystina is a witty firecracker; the complete opposite of what Alexander is accustomed to. She is drawn to him, but she does not know why. He has those “come hither” eyes. I cannot wait for the rest of the series!

I’m quite conflicted about Chased: A Cambridge Men Of Honor Novel. It was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I’m sure I will read more as overall I did enjoy the book although there are a few things that I did not like. I really liked Allegra, the female lead character. I understand why she fell under the spell of Chase Benedict as he certainly knew how to put on the charm. I like reading a dark romance and this certainly fits the bill. I did really like Felicity Brandon’s writing style. The story is well told and flows well, keeping the reader engaged. One thing that I found different is that this is the first book that I have read that is set in Covid times. I really enjoyed reading a novel set in this time as it was a new experience and had expected authors not to write about this particular time. I didn’t really get the impression of a mafia novel. Yes, Chase was an evil crime lord but I didn’t get a mafia vibe from the book. One thing I just didn’t get at all was Chase giving Allegra 75 spanks, especially for a first spanking. Hey, I’m no expert on BDSM but that is much higher than in any other novel I have read and it seemed excessive. Overall, I did enjoy the book and have given it 4 stars.

In His Kiss is the first book in the Unrequited series by Ava Alise. This is a contemporary friends-to-lovers romance- with plenty of angst and drama to keep things interesting. We meet Jordan and Xia who have grown up together- with a close friendship that has spanned the years. What happens when a few too many drinks leads these long-time friends to cross the ‘friendship’ line- sharing a steamy night where secret longings are revealed. What comes with the cold light of day? Was it just an alcohol fuelled mistake? Is their friendship strong enough to survive? You know what you need to do if you want to find out. Happy reading!

This book picks up where the first one ends therefore you need to read the books in order. As Lillie grows closer to the Zayeds, the sorceror’s need to find her increases. Chief has returned the Zayed’s powers and after mating with them, Lillie has gained some as well. Upon being captured again, Lillie has a few surprises for her captor. The sorcerer will stop at nothing in his quest fir the ultimate power. Lillie is a force to be reckoned with. She will not allow him to harm the ones she loves.
The story had some drama and action which flowed well. The author threw in a surprise that even I didn’t see coming. I’m usually good at figuring out things before they happen. Lots of points for that Ms. Taylor. This was a fun series to read.

Dragons by Ty Drago turned out to be quite an great little adventure. It is YA sci-fi story, with action, lies, secrets, ‘powers’, betrayal, drama, tension, obstacles, high stakes, danger, and hidden agendas. This is Andy’s adventure- and we get a front row seat to all the developments. Andy has secrets- there is definitely more to him than meets the eye. So what happens when he is kidnapped. Why was he taken and what do ‘they’ want? He will soon find himself in a high stakes situation that will test him on every level. What happens makes for quite a fun read. I really enjoyed my first read from Ty Drago- and will definitely look for more of his books to read.

The Hunter’s Heart is the first book in the Love After Earth series, and debut novel by Astrid Sharpe. This is a superb sci-fi romance, with all the ingredients needed to make it a captivating read. This story is so well-written, with vivid scene setting and fantastic characters. Ms. Sharpe’s world building is clever and creative- she crafted a world that came to life before my eyes, making what I was ‘seeing’ and the events that transpired, completely believable and ‘real’. She has given me a taste for her stories, and I can’t wait to get my hands on her next book/s. She is an author I will definitely be following closely from now on. #engagestalkermode Poppy was snatched up on her way home from work one night- and wakes up to find aliens have abducted her for some ‘breeding’ program. Could things get any worse!!! But no spoilers here. Get set for an exciting ride!! Things are about to take a strange turn- but one you won’t want to miss!! A fantastic start to a new series, and wonderfully original offering for a debut novel. Bring on Book #2!

Ummmm, Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. Need I say more. All the stars!!
Brink of Denial is book one of the Sons of Sindicato series by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. I loved Sons of Sindicato (Book #0) and was immediately hooked- so needless to say I was excited to get my hands on this book and see what these talented authors had in store for us. This is a dark mafia romance, full of danger, tension, angst, suspense, emotion, secrets, twists and turns, dramatic developments, and a bit of an enemies to lovers element. We follow Dane Giordano and Mila Blanc through all their highs, lows, and intense developments. I don’t want to give away too much- as this book/series is definitely worth the read. So, if you love mafia romance with a bit of a dark side- with fantastic characters, and a brilliant storyline full of tension- then this is definitely a book/series you will want to one-click asap! This is the third in the wonderful series by T.S. Simons. Through ou the books I gotta say they get more and more intense and captivating.
The 1st book had me hooked no doubt. As the story contunues and engages its readers more down the rabbit hole we go.
I find I relate more and more as the story unfolds. And more of I think of our own world and the choices we make. In this book Cam has greatly been though a lot to say the least I found his grief very much relatable and at times it was truly heart wrenching I find the deeper he does down the rabbit hole for answers and for questions that need answers he seeks…they sometimes as it is in the real world are not what we want them to be, but just the opposite.
That kind of stuff hits home and truly makes me think. Its not often I find a book or series that makes me think of my own life or my choices I make and how it impacts me and those around me, But this series certainly does.
This series and especially this book I fudn it really dug deep into everything Cam had gone thru, is going thru, and had yet to undergo.
And as the story progesses I found Cam really wanted his answers so badly. But truly he was risking everything to get the answers. The friendships he maintained were all put on the line I found. And he made decisions that impacted literally everything around him.
Honestly, super captivating book. this is my favotite in the series so far. And me saying I cant wait for the next in the series to see the adventures, romance, and things Cam will face…is most certainly a understatment 🙂
Thank you again to this amazing author for a wonderful book series. Its defiently a book series I will not forget and it certainly has made an imprint on my heart 🙂

Twisted Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops #1) is the first in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series written by Amy McKinley, and it is the first book I have read by Amy, but it most certainly will not be my last!
This book was incredible! I am all for a good suspense novel, with some romance mixed in is a bonus, and this did not let me down! I felt like the characters were my friends and I was right there in the story with them! The twists and turns were some of the best I have read and it definitely goes to show this author knows her stuff when it comes to writing good, well-written novels! The book follows Riley, who is a grad student a few weeks away from graduation working at a local coffee shop in Honolulu, Hawaii, and Xander who is a Navy SEAL who recently returned from a mission gone wrong. When he wanders into the same coffee shop that Riley works at, they have an instant connection. The only problem, she is not single. Throughout the book, the 2 meet and Riley realizes that the relationship she is currently in is not what she thought it was and she ends it. But, when her ex does not agree, suspicious things start to happen. As Xander and Riley build their relationship, Xander has his own mystery to figure out when it comes to his failed mission involving bad intel. As things get dangerous for Riley, Xander is determined to keep her safe by taking her to his family’s island, but is that enough? The only way you will find out is to read this fantastic book! Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and it will not be the last book I read by this author! I am excited to read the second and third books in this series and find out what happens!

The Earl’s Scandalous Wager by Wareeze Woodson is a perfect read for anyone who loves historical romances or mysteries. The love story between Emily and Phillip felt natural and not forced. You’ll be rooting for them to let their walls down and let love in. Also, I usually solve the mystery well before the big reveal, but this time I didn’t. Every time I thought I had it solved, my guess would be proven innocent. This book will have you guessing even at the start of the big reveal.
This is a new author to me, but I was intrigued by the cover. I picked it up and read the synopsis on the back and decided to give it a read. I’m glad that I did. I think that the writer did a great job with the character development and the world description. It was a fantastic and beautiful read but not a long book at all. I read it in no time. Of course, I also didn’t want to put it down. Not only was this a beautifully written romantic comedy, but it also contained quite a bit of drama and emotional turmoil with the typical snags in the way. I look forward to reading more of this authors work. Especially if it’s anything like this one.

A forbidden romance is sparked between enemy species – wolf and vampire! Each is placed into a world of war, as soldiers, who need to fight to get back to each other. The couple’s passionate connection is what will hopefully lead them towards salvation. The author did a good job of bringing a different take on an old premise. From the very beginning the author jumps right into the story; you never felt that it was slow moving! I look forward to the future books in this series!

This is a beautifully written story about love, losing love, challenges of life and never forgetting your first love. The characters are so well written that you can’t help feeling every piece of emotion through them.
Duke and Patience have been friends for years and with all their other friends leaving to join the army, navy and airforce Patience is content in the knowledge that she and Duke are staying together. Or so she thinks.
The night after graduation Duke just disappears without an explanation or a word of goodbye. Patience is heartbroken at this betrayal but moves on with her life.
Fast forward and Patience is in a loveless marriage with an abusive partner and she has lost herself completely. When she finally has the courage to leave she had to build herself back up and learn again who she is.
Meanwhile Duke is medically discharged from the Marines and he is returning home. Can he rebuild the relationship between himself and Patience? Will she ever forgive him for just leaving her? And when he sees Patience has become a shadow of the girl she was can he help build her back up? It’s not going to be easy as both of them are damaged and need fixing but is their first love strong enough to fix them both.

Patience and Duke have been friends since diapers. They are yin to yang for each other. The challenge is that they don’t know they are in love with each other. Once summer after graduation changes everything….fast forward to a few years later and they meet up again. Can the love and friendship be rekindled? I found myself rooting for them. As they face challenges ahead, they don’t give up on each other and they just chug along Well-written and very realistic, the author kept this smooth and easy-flowing like a summer river.

Moonlit Kiss (A Venice Romance) (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley
5 Stars
I loved the first two of the Moonlit Destination series and this one is no different, it was a one sitting read for me as the story kept me wrapped from page one. This author has a way of transporting you to wherever the stories take place. I’m pretty sure I’ll never visit Venice although I’d love to, but came away from reading this book feeling as if I had been right there with Gianna and Sergio the whole way. Their story was unique and the romance felt real and like it happened naturally. This is my favorite of all of them so far as I felt like I connected a little quicker and literally could not put it down.
I will read anything by this author. She writes romantic suspense like no other and although I like her longer novels and series a bit more this one still holds true and stays consistent with the awesome writing style I’ve come to know by this author.
They can all be read as standalones but I highly recommend reading them all!
