After the Fall, the UNR came to power and took over everything. Submit and follow along or be executed, that was the law. Anna escaped and has been hiding out for two years. Life was simple all alone, but then she saw him. She could tell he was a soldier, but he was also about to die. Anna drags his body back to her safeplace to help him. What is she thinking? She doesn’t even know who he is. One thing she is certain of, he is not UNR, but who is he? Could he be one of THEM? Could he help her? She had heard stories of the Resistance, but never believed they were real, until now. Born to Fight is a post-apocalyptic story of fighting for what you believe in. It is the first of the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne.

I waited patiently (sort of) for The Bow (Her Three Immortals Book 3) by Hazel Storm, and I was not disappointed. After becoming hooked by the first two (I started with 2 and then went to 1 and still enjoyed it immensely), as soon as I got my hands on Book 3, I hit the ground running with it. Vanessa is back and is sent on a mission by the mother of the God of the Underworld, who doesn’t seem to like her all that much. Due to Vanessa’s new abilities, she is the perfect one to complete this task, and we get to follow her along the way. Like the first two books, this book contains just enough steam to fog the windows and more than enough intrigue to keep you hooked until the end. This author writes vibrant and lively characters that you won’t want to miss. I highly suggest this book (and the first two, if you already haven’t read them).

The Goddess of Everything by Paul DeBlassie III tells the horrific tale of the length’s a mother will go through to keep her son’s love. Mother Juana de la Cruz is a devoutly religious woman and Superior of the Orphanage of the Holy Innocents located in the community of Atzlan del Norte. The Nunnery and Orphanage is a place of closely guarded secrets, one where evil and darkness lurk behind every door. Mother Juana de la Cruz’s son Gabriel de LaTierra is a psychiatric healer who has devoted his life to helping the children at the orphanage. When Gabriel starts uncovering secrets of supernatural happenings and missing children, he becomes suspicious of the true motives of the nuns running the Orphanage of the Holy Innocents. The one person he trusts within the orphanage and nunnery is his beloved Mother Juana de la Cruz, a woman who is a true saint in Gabriel’s eyes and could harm no one, especially a child. A woman who is also considered a saint by the devoutly religious community of Atzlan del Norte.
Gabriel’s wife Consuela, however, suspects otherwise and attempts to get Gabriel to see the true person his beloved Mother Juana de la Cruz is. Consuela has powers of her own as a seer and knows that true evil is smart, often hiding in plain sight. She tries to warn Gabriel that his beloved Mother Juana is pure evil. Gabriel finds such thoughts unimaginable because his Mother Juana is devoutly religious and he refuses to see how Mother Juana keeps him, her beloved son, brainwashed and under her spell. To shed light on what Mother Juana de la Cruz’s true intentions are, Gabriel is shown through visions from Consuela the blood sacrifices of children that take place in the desert late at night. A ritual that has been taking place for centuries and one that gives Mother Juana de la Cruz and her nuns immortality. Gabriel is horrified to think that his beloved Mother could be capable of such horrendous acts of pure evil and finds himself conflicted between the love he has for his wife and the love and devotion he has towards his mother. When his beloved wife Consuela is viciously attacked, and his young son is kidnapped, Gabriel is forced to act. Will Gabriel be able to find the strength and courage to save his wife and son? Will good triumph over evil?
The Goddess of Everything is a new twist on the age-old tale of good versus evil, and the darker side of religion. From the first page Paul deBlassie III pulled me into the story and held my interest with tales of the supernatural, magical powers, religious rituals and sacrifices, and the dark realms of true evil. This book was action packed throughout and delivered from start to finish. Great read that will give you goosebumps and will surely haunt your dreams!

This book is absolutely hands down one of my top five favorite reads of 2021! Now that isn’t easy considering this is the 150th book I have read and reviewed this year alone. This book is absolutely amazing. I was swept away to a timeless feel of love story romance that made me want to watch all my favorite old movies again when this book was done. It just exudes that nostalgia and that is just the world building and the character presence yall. The love story will blow your mind. These two, Phillip and Kat, will make you want to be them, or find a love like theirs or hope your love is like theirs. I am so excited to get my hands on book two and will be waiting for it like its rare gold. I wouldn’t wait to run and grab your copy now!

This is such a cute story for young readers and their parents to enjoy reading together or separately. I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures included along with the descriptions of the marine animals and their environment. There is a lot of knowledgeable information included in the story. So not only is this a wonderfully written story, but it’s like a little encyclopedia of information as well. Even as an adult I thought that this was a learning story. I learned quite a bit of information about our ocean inhabitants that I was not aware of. It made me think about how important the ecosystem is to our world. I highly recommend purchasing this book for children. I think this would make a wonderful gift to any school classroom or library in addition to homes of our kids. Even more so if they are into mammals, oceans, and biology.

Where oh where is book four?! This book was so good I enjoyed books two and three the most but I have to say this is a very enjoyable series. The bow is steamy and romantic and not for children. I will always be a Grey and Vanessa fan, such an innocent soul Vanessa is a character favorite and an amazing female protagonist. Why did the book end like that though?! This book makes me want to grow wings! Five stars for this quick and addictive read your not going to put it down. I read it all the way through. Hazel Storm has done it again with book three such a good series.

The Book of Carraig is the second book in The Cross of Ciaran series from Andrea Matthews, and I would very much recommend that you read the first book in the series before diving into this one. You will find yourself in a much better understanding of what is going on as this book picks up about a year after the first with the same main character, Ciarán returning home to Ireland. I really enjoyed this one and the attention to details was just as beautiful and vivid making the story even more enjoyable. I look forward to seeing what will come next!

This is a gripping read from start to finish. The is book 9 in the Diamond Doms series. If you do read the books in order it builds the characters and the storyline, however it can be read as a standalone and is just as enjoyable.
This is definately an adult romance based around the dominant male and submissive female. However there is an element of danger, and adventure as they try to bring down the people who are looking to harm their friends and family. The relationship between Gemma and Russell is very intense not only when they are embracing their roles but also in everyday life. Russell has definately met his match with Gemma, she is fiesty and determined and full of sass. As much as she is willing to submit to him in the bedroom in everyday life she isn’t going to make it so easy. All Russell wants to do is protect her and keep her safe, but how can he do that when she is making plans of her own to bring down their enemy’s. Their relationship needs to be built on trust but can it survive when one of them breaks that trust by putting themselves and everyone else in danger?

I was hooked from the start and finished this book in one sitting! A post-apocalyptic story after “The Fall” where the UNR controls the communities and the people live like slaves. Hunter, one of the main characters, is part of the Resistance, which is trying to help the people. Rain, the other main character, is living a solitary life hidden in a bunker. When they meet the story takes off and is full of action, fighting, humor, and steamy romance. I liked the flashbacks to learn more about the characters. I liked picturing the bunker, the resistance HQ, the UNR compound, and the forests. An overall great read!

Now this is the story I needed! After reading the first book ( The Don ), it ends in a cliff hanger and this book answered all my questions for that book. This also ends in a cliff hanger but I love love love Grey & Vanessa. You ever wonder how a sex dream would be if you were dead?! Hazel Storm definitely has a hit with this series I prefer this book over book 1 but as a series fanatic I would recommend that you read book one. This read gets five stars it is very well developed and descriptive and captivating and it has you rooting for love but who do you want Vanessa with. This read brings a bit of humor that I enjoyed it was thrown in at just the right moments. Poor Vanessa the underworld has her stuck between love and a hard place. Lol.

I am obsessed with mythology and this read put a cute little love square twist on it so to speak. We have Vanessa as our protagonist who risks it all for her little brother Piper. How much is your soul worth?! Now luckily this is a book one of the series and once you are done you can jump into book two because I will say Hazel Storm will have you angry at the cliffhanger ending. It is worth it, the overall story could have been developed just a bit stronger but again it is a series so it is okay. Four stars and you will want to complete the series. I wish there was more of a backstory on the gods themselves especially Grey who you will come to describe all the men in this read as sexy and captivating. Just enough tease and build on the romance that has you rooting for love. With love comes a price, how much are you worth?!

The Grimm Brothers would be proud. This is not a retelling of Cinderella in the traditional HEA genre. I love that the Prince truly is charming and while his name is Callum it could’ve been Charming and no one would have batted an eye. Author A.L. Marrow really knows how to drag you by the hair into a story! I love stories like that. I was so engrossed I almost missed my stop.
Back to what I was saying about the Grimm Brothers being proud of A.L. Marrow. If you have ever read a Grimm Brothers fairy tale you know how gruesome they can be. This story reminds me of that when it introduces the trom-laighe.
Every character was well flushed out and gave you a sense of “knowing” them you don’t often get in books. Ashling is charismatic, witty, strong and beautiful. Even in the face of danger from her “family” and from the trom -laighe she rises to the challenge. Since reading her father’s journal she knows how to defeat these evil creatures when no one else does. The author doesn’t focus so much on the Step Mother/Step Sister aspect that is usually emphasized and instead centers the readers attention on the enchantment and the perplexing labyrinth of mysteries surrounding Glenblath.
*One thing I will note is that this book is not intended for children and has some very erotic M/M scenes.

This story will suck you in from page 1 and won’t let go until the last page. There is spice for the romance lover; intrigue for the adventure lover; and lots of romance for the all. The cast is well-written and so intertwined that they just blended into the story like they all belonged together. The plot is fantastic and like a spy novel with some BDSM. Every time I thought I knew what was happening; BAM, plot twist. The women in the book are strong willed and stubborn. They are not held back by much. This author has just been put on my list of favorites. I love a good book that can make my head spin trying to figure out who’s the bad guy and what’s going on. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I highly recommend. 18+ crowd only.

This is a romance with a little bit of a history. The days when mixed marriages were frowned upon. In this story Noemie and Richard come face to face with racism. You will get to go back to the sixties and read along as these two incredible people fight for love. Richard will do just about anything for Noemie. Noemie, having racism thrown at her daily, just wants to protect the man she loves. Even if it means she can’t see him or love him. How will these 2 beautiful people’s hearts find where love leads them?
Victoria Saccenti has opened the door to the 60s. A time when the people were divided by race and color. A time where people could get killed over talking to the wrong person. Growing up in the 60s I remember hearing such horrific stories. This is a beautifully written story about just such forbidden love. One I think everybody will enjoy. Noemie is such a strong independent woman. Richard is a strong protector, who loves who he loves. The characters in this story are believable in how life was back then. You will find the world around you fades away as you listen to this story of forbidden love. Hop on this audio train and listen in. Well Done Victoria Saccenti! Well Done! ! !

Book Review: Scarlet Princess The Lochlann Feuds Book One Authors: Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison FIVE STARS This story of Princess Rowan and Lord Theodore is riviting. The travels and her being on trial. The end of that trial and the outcome. HOLY COW. I truly cannot wait for book two to come out. My KU subscription has lead me to more and more fabulous authors and this is one of those books that I have discovered. I will definately be reading more especially about the Lochlann Feuds. Princess Rowan is definately outspoken and has spunk. She is a wonderful character. And oh my gosh, her “weather toe” had me in stitches. KLH

What an amazing first book! If the first book is any indication of this series, this is going to be an amazing series.
The United States fell and is now under the control of the UNR. The UNR controls everything within its borders. That is everything except The Resistance. Hunter Kane was born to a soldier, a former SEAL. His father trained him to be a soldier in every aspect from birth. As one of the leaders of The Resistance, his mission is to take out the UNR starting at the top with Governor Allan. That is until he tries to save a woman and gets attacked by UNR soldiers and left for dead.
Rain ran away from hell two years ago. She escaped a controlling father and a controlling and abusive husband. She found a bunker and has been hiding out. One day trying to get some water from the river she finds a man left for dead. Using all of her strength, she brings him back to her bunker to try and save him.
Little do they both know that they each hold a key to the other’s destiny.

Haha wow just wow. Where to even begin? This book definitely take you on a Rollercoaster ride. Just when you *think* you have it figured it out, she throws a wrench in your theory and goes “Just kidding!!!! Watch what happens next!” And you are sitting there trying to figure out what the heck Just happened. There were a lot of little things that I missed and had to go back and read again. This book kept me up into the wee hours of the night and I just had to keep reading more!!! I can’t wait to read the next book and see what happens! Reader beware! That cliffhanger will spartan kick you off the ledge before you even realize what happened!

This is a cute story about whales and dolphins. It is a fun, entertaining story that would be great for all children. This is a story about Cherish and her family and their quest to save the whales. The story is interactive and engaging. The characters are cute and creative. They are relatable and bring the story to life. My daughter enjoyed this book as much as I did. I highly recommend reading this book to find out if Cherish and her family save the whales.
This book was great. I loved how Racine made the characters so realistic. I loved the suspense in this book. It kept me wanting more. I was hooked from the beginning to the end. I can’t wait to read more from this series. I highly recommend it if you love a good mystery.

Informative and creative This was a very engaging and cleverly put together read. Most people, especially children, have a natural curiosity about the ocean and this book presents the facts in such a creative way. I was drawn in by the natural imagery and the story built around real life issues. Highly recommend as a must-have addition to any home and school library.

Silent Gavel by Merissa Racine a fabulous four-star read. This is the first in the Crawford Mystery series and I am excited to see what will happen next, the twists in this story are superb and will have you guessing all the way through. The details were very well done and added to the story, I love a good detail-oriented line, so it was good for me, but some may find it a little too much. It was Lauren who kept me hooked, the way she dug and kept going, she added something extra to the story.

A.L. Morrow has brought new light to the story of Cinderella, with Entwined. A dark and twisty romance that I could not put down! The world the author created was beautiful despite the darkness that threatens beyond the arc. Callum, the crown prince, is feeling the pressure to produce an heir to keep the arc protection from faltering and letting the darkness in. Married to the man he loves, Teague, it was decided a ball would be thrown on their anniversary to find a young lady to court and join them. Ashling, our Cinderella of the story, only defies her stepmother’s orders and goes to the ball because the darkness has broken the barrier and she has to warn someone. Little does she know that she has captured the attention of Prince Callum. The character development is flawless, I felt for these characters as if they were part of my inner circle. A.L. Morrow has an interesting series developing that I can’t wait till book 2!

Great fantasy novel. I was a little nervous going into this book, I’ve read all kind of fae things here lately from acotar, the savage and the swan, the secerets of shadow and blood , etc. This book exceeded my expectations though! The author has great world building and character development! Which I find to be a little rare with some newer books. This is a great coming of age book and was such a fun read . This was a hot 5 star read and I really enjoyed it. Once I started I devoured it. This was a great ending to the series.
Russell is not into relationships due to an ex, he does have his subs at the club that help with his needs. Gemma was married to Russell’s friend so she was off limits, until things changed. Russell is a dom and he finds his match in Gemma. She is great at challenging him and pushing the right buttons. There is so much more to their story that I don’t want to give away.
We get action, mystery, suspense, steaminess and so much more. We finally get closure on some of the mystery in the series as well. There are some intense BDSM scenes that may cause triggers for some. I highly suggest reading the previous books so that you know the characters and the storyline coming into this book. The author does a great job with her writing and she pulls you right in. I look forward to reading more from her. 1-click and get started today

Wrong for Him (Love Lottery Book 3) by Christi Barth is a contemporary romance that is a friend to lovers and brothers’ best friend story. It is heart-warming and entertaining and has the right amount of tension and angst and humour to give it that bit more. It is also fun with witty banter that had me laughing out loud. Christ has a way with telling her stories that are engaging. The push and pull dynamic between the characters made it a slow burn tale sweet.
She is determined to be more than just the little sister and he can’t believe he is worthy of a relationship. Not only do they find more on the historical building than they thought but maybe they can find more for themselves.

A very different take on the usual shifter romance. Hot, dreamy, interesting, and action packed, this book has it all! Quite the page turner and the feelings came for me hard! It was well written, easy to follow, interesting and attention holding! Can’t wait to find more from the author!

Born to Fight is book one in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. This is a science fiction romance, and while I don’t tend to read this genre, this story was really quite mesmirising. Extremely dramatic and sexy, the chemistry between the leading characters was explosive and steamy. A sweary, sweaty seduction set in a post-apocalyptic time that was imaginative and cleverly written. This author is new to me and I went in with a very open mind. I think I have found another trope to sink into. I am looking forward to reading more of her work. Born to Fight was a gripping and exciting tale that had me totally invested and desperate for more. A real page turner. 4 stars.

Initially I assumed that ‘The Bow’ would be the third and final book in the ‘Her Three Immortals’ series. By the time I finished binge reading ‘The Bow’ I was genuinely STOKED to discover there was a fourth book! Although you could read these as stand-alone novels, I do recommend starting at the beginning because the main character really grows throughout the series in a really gratifying way. This is a steamy adult series, made even more enjoyable by its engaging and fast paced story line, and its rather seamless way of modernizing the timeless theme of mythological multi-lover romance. Can’t wait to read the fourth book!

Kiss Me Before Flight by Thia Finn is a stunning second chance love story. This is my first read by this author, and it was a gripping, emotional and riveting story, with wonderful characters and a heartbreaking and honest storyline. This story is about violence, brutality at the hands of a monster, unexpected love and rediscovering oneself. Triumph reigns and dramatic scenes are plentiful. This story is about more than just romance. It is about new friendships, finding strength in the most unusual circumstances, finding the path to happiness and building destroyed self confidence. Callie’s faith in humanity is restored when she meets Conrad and the many people who offer endless support and encouragement. Kiss Me Before Flight was wonderfully written and perfectly executed. Often hard to read and deeply emotional, this remarkable tale delivers the message that love can heal even the deepest of wounds and happiness can be found when you aren’t even looking. 4 stars.
