Seductive Prey (Relentless #1) by Vivian Fiano. This is an amazing read. Its my favorite genre, Romantic Suspense. Its the story of Jordan Smith whose dream is to own her own Dance Studio so when she graduates High school she enlists in the Army National Guard to ensure that will happen. Grant Summers grew up with a drug addicted mom so the police were his saviors so he always knew he wanted to be a police officer. Now he’s a Boston Officer and when Jordan has a crime committed at her Studio they meet and sparks fly. They begin dating soon after and can’t get enough of each other but soon they realize they are being stalked or Jordan is anyway. This guy is so taken with Jordan he will do anything to have her including kill her. Will Grant be able to protect Jordan or will he be to late? Read Seductive Prey to find out!
This is my first time reading this author and I love every word of this story. The plotline was masterfully created. There is a message weaved into the story. It is set in a small town on the Ohio River. This gives the author some creative writing due to the rural setting. I found myself in that small town with the characters. The characters are fully developed and complex in nature Bruce Michaels is a renowned Hollywood actor, who is there because of his personal demons. Then there are Hudson, Willow, and Mason high school seniors with different backgrounds with adulthood coming very quickly. There were questions that they were looking to have answers to. Hudson lost his friends and sank into a deep depression. He finds Bruce and starts a deep friendship with him. Will this new “friendship” be a healthy one or will it send both of them into a deeper depression without a light at the end of the tunnel? I highly recommend this book. I know that I felt some similarities to the characters and it pushed me to finish this book in one sitting.

The Earl and the Peahen (The Scarlet Salon Book 5) by Jean Wilde. This is such a good read. Its a wonderful Historical Romance and part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Another great addition to this series! I enjoyed this book from beginning to end! The twists and turn of the world were fantastic and I couldn’t put this one down. I would recommend reading these in order because they’re all fantastic and they deserve to be read! This one is more intense than the others before it but that made it even more enjoyable. I am looking forward to reading more by this author! Happy Reading!!

THE HUSBAND (21st Century Courtesan Book 4) by P.S. Dumond 4 Stars!!!!
Another gripping trip into the world of the 21st Century Courtesan and I was not disappointed. This is the fourth book in this series that I have read and I have to say each is just as gripping and gives me chills. I really didn’t know what to expect from this one so to see how the story turned was unexpected. I feel as though the author really brings the characters to life and I am right there in the action.
I really like how the author plays out the story and I find myself not being able to put the book down and eager to see what will happen next. I am still very uneasy with the fan but I am hoping that all will be revealed. I really find the story to be unique and lets the reader live via fantasy. I really enjoy this author and will definitely read more from them.

Wow is all I can say. This book really has some drama and really brings some attention to mental health issues. I also have to say this is the first book I have read from this author and I well I was not let down. I found that the book really brought the characters to life and grabs the reader’s attention.
I could really relate to the main characters having grown up in a small town myself. I really found the way that the author deals with the complex issues that arise during the story was quite good. I really found the author’s style to be unique and I will definitely read more from this author in the future.

This is an amazing love story, so if you love contemporary romance books then you will find yourself engrossed in this one. At least I did. It is set in the country music scene which I didn’t think I would enjoy as much as I did since I am normally more of a rocker chick. However, the author created a page turner set inside of a world I wanted to find my own self living in. The characters growth throughout the story is so good to see because it really does have a lot of real-life issues I could also relate to. This, in my opinion, always makes a story better. I have read a few other books by this author, so I know her writing draws me in on all levels. If you have never read a book written by her before I think you will find her to be a new favorite writer of yours.

Everything Somewhere by David Kummer is a well written and thought provoking coming of age story. The book is centred around three teens in the verge of adulthood and an actor whose past seems to be chasing him. I thought I was great how the author created a connection between them all, even when it seemed there really couldn’t be anything to connect them. The book really caught my attention and had me looking at things in different ways. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. He takes you on a journey as the reader and it is great to explore everything the characters are feeling. There are some deeper issues covered in the book as well which adds a depth to it to make it more well rounded. This is a well written book and one certainly worth reading.

Everything Somewhere is a story about a small town and the people in it. When a famous person chooses to move there it shakes the town and the people’s lives up. This story shows how little towns make people feel and how strangers often have similar lives even when they are from different backgrounds. Everything Somewhere is a really good story and I recommend you read it for your self.

On Viking Seas is the third book in the Forerunner Series by Jay Veloso Batista. I would definitely recommend starting this series from the beginning, it took me a few chapters to catch up with the story and I will definitely go back to book one to read all the bits I have missed.
As you would expect from the title, this story is packed full of adventure. There is a lot going on and the author really keeps the reader on their toes throughout by adding twists and turns along the way. I particularly enjoy that the book is based on actual historical events, and the author really shows off their Viking knowledge which adds so much detail and passion. Great read, especially if you’re looking for something a bit different.

Everything, Somewhere by David Kummer is a coming of age story set in the Ohio River Valley. What happens when high school seniors Hudson, Mason, and Willow start coming to terms with the changes occurring in their lives moving from high school to adulthood? These three are relatable teens whom many could see themselves or someone they know in them. Also, add a retired, movie actor to the sleepy town and more questions abound. I really appreciate the author hitting on some tough subjects such as mental health issues and how they can change a person’s outlook on life. It was handled well and did not hide from the truth of the matter. I enjoyed this story and the characters. I look forward to searching out more of this author’s books in the future. He brings a young vision and depth to the stories.

Okay when I first picked up the beginning of this series, 21st Century Courtesan, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I had never read PS DuMond but I knew this would be right up my alley of genre and I knew I wanted to know what it held for me. I was instantly hooked and have been back for more over and over again. This, THE HUSBAND, is the fourth book in the series and I cannot stress enough how important it is to read this series from the beginning and in order. This builds like the perfect song or movie and has the ebbs and flow that will keep you wanting more and more and you read. Don’t even begin to try figuring out where Ms. DuMond will take you because she is a masterful mind and wicked with a pen, keeping you guessing and going huh? I love the characters and have gotten so completely invested in them that I feel as if they are very much real and I want to embrace them and yell at them from time to time. You won’t regret picking up this book or the rest of the series so take my word for it and one-click them all today! I can’t wait to see what will happen next, even if the end is near!

Queen Of My Heart is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It is a great contemporary romance novel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It’s not the first time that I had read this author’s work so I knew that i was putting myself in safe hands. I have to say that I’m a sucker for a fake marriage book so was really looking forward to reading this book. Quinn and Tucker just grabbed hold of my heart straight away and kept a tight grip throughout. I loved both characters and was rooting for them to have the HEA that they both deserved. I’m also a sucker for a cute kid in a book and Tucker’s niece is totally adorable. I loved that she couldn’t say Quinn’s name so she called her Queen. A total scene stealer. One of my big passions in life, after reading, is music and I loved that this book is set in the music world. We get to see a bit of the good and the bad about life in the music world. It’s not all sunshine and roses. I really enjoyed Queen of my Heart and look forward to reading more of this series.

I loved this book! The characters were amazing! It’s not often I find a book where I love all the characters. Hannah was a sweet and strong woman who’s been through the ringer when it comes to heartbreak and Kyle hasn’t had it much better. I found the world building to be lacking a tiny bit but I think that’s because it was so focused on building the characters and their relationships with each other and that more than made up for it! If you’re looking for a quick read that’s packed with love and passion, something that you’ll find yourself smiling over while reading, this is 100% a book you should pick up!

Everything, Somewhere by David Kummer is a thought-provoking story with some dark themes, in a small-town setting. This story is a bit of a coming of age story- where our characters are transitioning into adulthood and dealing with the dramas that come their way. This is full of teenage issues that many of our teenagers are experiencing. Sensitive subject matter, such as mental health and suicide, are handled in a very direct, honest, and considerate way. There are emotive moments, as well as some depressing scenes that tugged at my heart strings and made me ‘feel’. But I think that the characters needed a little more development in order for me to fully connect with them and what they were going through. The story is told from several points of view, which I found distracted from the growth and development of the characters, as well as the overall storyline- giving it a bit of a choppy feel. As this is my first read from David Kummer, I am interested in reading more of his work to see what else he can do.

First time really listening to a book, instead of actually reading, and I must say I really enjoyed it. Adeline and Stone’s story is very intriguing. She starts working for Stone as his assistant while his regular assistant is on maternity leave. She just seems to crash into Stone and from there the flashbacks begin. They feel as if they’d met before kind of a déjà vu. Then he asks her to be his fake fiancé and they start to hit it off. Both begin to have feelings for each other. I truly enjoyed listening to this book. I think I’ll try it again with another of this author’s books

I am very impressed by this author/book. Everything, Somewhere by David Kummer is a page-turner that draws you in from the first page. This book contains situations regarding mental health and hits the nail on the head. The characters jump off the page and the reader cannot help but want to follow their stories until the very end. The rural town, Little Rush, sits on the Ohio River and is one of the book’s most compelling characters because it could be any town, anywhere. Add in Bruce Michaels from Hollywood and high school senior Hudson, and it’s a formula for intrigue and revelations. The story is consistently relatable, for the situations and struggles they come up against are that which anyone could experience. The author has a way of weaving the characters’ stories together and creating such a riveting tale. I recommend this book with 5 stars, and look forward to reading more from this author.

The Earl and the Peahen is the fifth book in The Scarlet Salon series by Jean Wilde. As with the other books in the series, it can be read as a standalone. But, having said that, if you love historical romance/regency romance- then you probably won’t want to miss out on what the first four books have to offer. This is a really great historical/regency romance- about finding love unexpectedly, where opposites attract- and with plenty of banter, drama, intrigue, chemistry, tension, and more. I really enjoyed following Jane and Alexander on their ‘adventure’- watching while fate threw these two ‘opposites’ together and especially enjoyed how everything played out. As expected, the characters were really well developed- crafted into fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I found them to be quite endearing and couldn’t help but cheer them on from the sidelines. This is another really well developed story from Ms. Wilde. She crafts a rich setting for her story- full of clever and creative touches – along with authentic historical details that really help to bring her characters and story to life. Her storytelling really draws you into her ‘world’ and she easily captured and held my attention the whole way through. I wonder what she has instore for us next?

Jaru Fane is an Imp, he used to be a contract companion, but now after a horrible experience, he has decided to create his own contact companion company which will employ and look after companions in a safe environment, something which he missed out on and his best friend is Larkspur, a pixie with an unhappy past and a penchant for mischief and playing pranks.
As Jaru is setting up his business, he didn’t quite realise how little time he has to spend with Lark between meeting, interviews, looking at contracts and making the decisions he needs to, but decisions are not the easiest thing for Jaru, he struggles to make them without help and it is getting him down. Meanwhile, Lark is feeling left out and bored and when he gets bored, that is when the pranks start, nobody is happy when that happens, so he decides to sneak into the office with Jaru the next day. As he has his first interview of the day, he senses that something maybe isn’t quite right with the person he is interviewing, but he seems a good fit nevertheless, afterwards, he ponders his decision making ability while Lark is planning his way to get to Jaru’s office the next day. While there, Jaru is looking over some more profiles for the business and thinks about getting some breakfast, however, he is startled when he sees some on his desk, this is when Lark shocks him further as he makes an appearance and spends the rest of the morning helping Jaru with the profiles, then just before he leaves the office he receives a strange phone call, but thinks no more about it.
A couple of days later, Jaru goes to his office as usual, but unusually, he finds a note on his desk saying that contract companions have been going missing and that his are next in line, so he tries to think of a solution himself and decides to call a friend for some advice and he agrees that it is a warning and to call if anything escalates, so when Jaru receives another phone call, this time containing a definite threat, he hires his friend so that he can arrange security for himself and his boys. Jaru has asked not to keep his other friends in the loop, however, Lark ends up hearing what is going on and decides to take matters into his own hands when he realises that Jaru is keeping secrets and confronts him the next day when it looks like Jaru is going a bit off the deep end and slipping back into old habits. During this confrontation, Lark ends up revealing one of his abilities without thinking and this starts a trail of new experiences for him and when Jaru discovers this, he is drawn to Lark in a different way, but when the danger takes a turn closer to home, Jaru starts to believe that he cannot be what Lark needs and encourages another to get close to him instead.
Will Jaru be able to keep his employees and Lark safe as the threats against him and Lark escalate, or will this be the end of something which hasn’t even had the chance to start? Will Lark be able to stay safe, or continuing to take matters into his own hands put Jaru in even more danger as well? This is a story of companionship, danger, revelations and realisations as the ties that bind are in danger of being ripped away and more problems appear than solutions, but when mental health issues and increased worry are added into the mix, you will have to read to the end to see whether they can be untangled and fixed back into place.

This is the new author for me. I don’t normally go for psychological thrillers but this one was really good. This book featured Ann Winters as the main female character however things get a little distorted when we find out that she has DID. You’ll meet different characters throughout the story, Since this topic is something I’ve only read about, I thought this was done very well. It’s a good book and I recommend it and I will be researching this author more to find more books by her.

This was a good story. It follows three friends as they come of age and grow and develop. It shows how all 3 of their lives are different and how these differences change their views and outlook on life. The author does a very good job working around the subject of mental health and how it can affect the developing brain as they move from children to adulthood. The only downside for me is at first the characters got confusing and there seemed to be loads but as time went on it got easier to read and see the links between them them our 3 main characters. I like how each chapter is about a single person which makes it easier to understand which perspective we are reading the story from.

It had a nice happily ever after and was really sweet. They both came from messed up families but found each other. I felt the book dragged a little bit but other than that liked the book.

Sure as Hell is the fourth book in Naomi Valkyrie’s Life Is Hell series. The series is a urban fantasy that focuses on a found family of paranormal characters and their adventures and romances. Reading the earlier books, particularly Hell in a Handbasket, I developed a bit of a soft spot for Jaru so it was great to have a whole book that focuses on him, particularly as he gets used to his independence and learns that being independent doesn’t mean he can’t turn to others for help. It was also good to see the character Lark develop. He’s been a fun, mischievous presence and it was interesting to learn more about him and view him not just as a bit of comic relief. And I really liked the bond between Lark and Jaru and how that changed and grew over the course of the book. This is another enjoyable book in an exciting series. It gets five stars from me! If you like urban fantasy you’ll love this, particularly if you prefer books with LGBT+ characters. It’s definitely worth reading the books in order to get to know the characters and put the events of this book into context.

In Little Rush, a small town in rural America, it is the final summer holiday before their senior year and Hudson, Willow and Mason decide to make the best of it, they plan on having fun, smoking, drinking and talking the nights away with a final hoorah of not having responsibilities or feeling like they need to be adults, but Hudson is not as joyous as he would seem, he is bored of both life in Little Rush and life in general, he cannot see the life all around him, but can see the death which is slowly coming towards him, his melancholy is catching up with him and he feels like there is nothing which can stop it. He is going through the motions and pretending like there is nothing wrong, at least he is when he is around his friends, but their blossoming romance isn’t helping the situation, neither is the feeling that he cannot escape the stereotypical “farmer boy” image he is stuck with. As they start a typical night of amusement in Mason’s dads cabin, involving alcohol and reminiscing of good times past, Willow suddenly announces that a famous actor will be moving to Little Rush and when she reveals that it is Bruce Michaels, both of the boys get excited as it is their favourite actor of all time, this is where the speculation begins and Willow is bored after the conversation goes on for longer than she anticipated. The next morning amid hangovers from hell the guys tidy up and carry on discussing the news while Willow sleeps the alcohol off and when he is dropped off home, Hudson is in trouble with his parents and the excitement he felt beforehand disappears and his depression comes back full force as he sits on his own in his room with the joy sucked out of him.
Willow and Mason are also thinking about Little Rush and their future, what it will hold, why they are torn between leaving the town and staying, they try and figure out their feelings and as they spend more and more time together, they kind of leave Hudson behind and he begins to feel like a thirds wheel. Meanwhile, a chance encounter while sitting with Mason in the treeline which borders the outside of Bruce Michael’s house leads to a conversation with the man himself and leads to a0 feeling that he can confide in Bruce when he can’t with his friends. As the summer progresses, Hudson’s feelings spin slowly downwards as he receives bad news on top of more bad news, the gap developing between himself and his friends is widening as he feels uncomfortable being around them and abandoned when they stop inviting him to hang out as much. However, he is increasing the amount of time he is spending with the old actor and using it as an excuse to avoid everyone else, but this is leading him into a spiral which nobody seems to realise he is in.
Will the distance which grows between Hudson, his friends and his family change things so much that it sends him in a direction he shouldn’t be going, or can it be mended enough that Hudson can come back from it all? This is a story of summer breaks, mental illness, relationships, lies, truths and worlds colliding, it is in the most unlikely pairings where the dangers truly lie, but what the dangers are, only reading to the end will reveal.

Seductive Prey is book one in the Relentless Trilogy by Vivian Fiano. My first time sampling this author’s and I was stunned by the quality of the story and mesmerised by the characters. Complex, compassionate and entertaining, Seductive Prey was suspenseful and spellbinding. It was hard to put down and left me breathless throughout many moments with the cast of this charismatic and mysterious tale. The story was easy to get sucked into and there were many oh my goodness moments. This story is not for young readers and should be enjoyed by an adult audience.
Grant and Jordan’s attraction was raging hot and their chemistry was explosive. The danger was ever present and they always had to be on guard and alert to their surroundings. Jordan was being stalked and Grant took on the role of protector while pursuing their attraction with tenacious ferocity. It was constantly thrilling and that edgy danger was insanely compelling. A brilliant beginning to a sensual and dramatic trilogy. 5 stars.
Bovine Tricks (Royals Gone Rogue Book 1) by Seelie Kay is a romantic suspense story. Agent Tillie Spencer finally gets her story. She is on a mission to find the missing royals. What ensues is an action packed and strange eye opening journey into a strange world that will have you on the edge. It is a fun read and in Seelie’s typical style with easy and cheeky banter and a little humour to get you through. A great start to a new series.

Date Night by K.M. Lowe is a rom com and is a fun read. We all know you are supposed to love valentine’s day BUT for some it can be a day of hell. The story is an easy read that flows well but is a little predictable. The characters are likeable and will make you smile at the antics of our MC. Sparks fly when they let go of the past and open their hearts once again to the promise of love.
