This was a really sweet and short read. I really liked the story; the characters were nice and relatable. I actually thought I had predicted what was going to happen in the story so I was pleasantly surprised when I was proved wrong. I think because the story was so short I didn’t really connect with the characters like I would in a longer story but that didn’t make me enjoy the story any less. I really liked the authors writing style so I would I definitely love to read more from her again in the future.

I loved this fast-paced, suspenseful story, full of plot twists as well as romance. Sloane and Luke are well-developed characters, with complexities and chemistry. I loved the Chicago setting mixed in with urban exploration and drug addiction. India Kells’ writing flows so smoothly and I could really see sparks flying. This is definitely an intense page-turner.

First, We KillAll the Lawyers is the first book in The Donovan Trait series by Seelie Kay. This is a paranormal suspense, filled with action, adventure and romance. This is a different genre than I’m used to with Seelie, but I was amazingly greatful I pick it up and can’t wait for the next book in this series. This story had me hooked on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until I read the last. Donovan Trait is a wonderful character. He is a charming, confident lawyer. Oh and did I mention he. Is a vampire. If you looking for a change of pace from all of the holiday books, I would definitely recommend this great read.

Urban Justice is the 2nd book in the Chicago Vigilantes series by India Kells. I recommend reading them in order, to get the full understanding of the vigilantes purpose and members. However, it could be read out of order. They are great quick books, and you won’t want to put them down. This book is filled with a good mix of romance, action, suspense, and justified violence. I like that the female lead, Sloane, is an awesome strong bad @$$ woman! She is an ex cop, and holds her own against the men. She is on a mission and rocks it! I love the sense of mystery that builds throughout the story between Sloane and Luke. Can’t wait for the next book in the series. Love Kells’ writing style, she hooks you early and you don’t want to let go!

I give Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen, 5 stars.

I have read this series and while I know it’s going to be good, I always forget just how fun this series is. This book is no exception. Just the concept is hilarious and it is done in not only a fun way, but it is so interesting and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. If you are familiar with the series, some of the characters you have come to love are back, and obviously we meet some new ones too. Santa and Mrs. Claus are great. The originality in this book makes the story so exceptional and you will be wishing there was more. At the same time, it is a complete story, the author does not leave you wondering.

While there are reoccurring characters from previous books, this one can easily be read as a standalone. If you are a fan of fun supernatural books and looking for something a little different for the holidays, this book is for you. In fact, considering the way this year has been, this is a refreshing, fun way to end the year.

I was seriously laughing so hard while reading this story. I’ve never read a book so funny that I couldn’t put it down because I was laughing so hard. The author really knew what she was doing when she wrote the story about our main lead Jane. It almost seem like she just could not help saying whatever popped into her head. The Willy Wonka comment was hysterical you have to read that part because you will die laughing. I do think that it was a little bit too much at times because it almost took away from the main part of the story. I also felt like she got away with it a little bit too much people kind of just ignore the fact that she did it and it was like yeah you should really speak up about that. I do feel that the author did an amazing job with writing the characters around her because they kind of pick up where she lacked. And the whole thing with her dad oh my gosh threw me off like way off. And Santa oh my goodness I cannot believe she did that to Santa. Anyway it was really good story especially when you got more into the heart of it into what the author was trying to get at the plot of the story. I really did like Gaston his character was very interesting because he was very goofy almost but also serious. I definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for a holiday laugh something that’s not to be taken serious but you still enjoy it anyway.

I LOVED this little look into Jane and Ethan’s life! The holiday aspect added to the story and I stayed up late reading….wondering what was up with Santa. The story moves along at a jolly good pace and easily put me in the holiday spirit. It is full of Santa-isms, puns and Jane’s crazy swear words. Jane is still a spirited gal Who takes all her accidents in stride. This isn’t her biggest but to me it’s the most fun one. I mean who doesn’t want to take a ride on Blitzen??

Overall I enjoyed this look back into Ethan, Gaston and Jane’s undead lives. They are still the same snarky, full of dry humor characters. We even get to see a few others from the series. The story is well written and really put me in the holiday spirit. It is full of holiday laughs and fun. I would highly recommend and not necessary but read License to Bite first since it’s how these characters meet.

As with any book by this author, you are drawn into the story from the get go and taken for one heck of a ride. Sloane is an ex-cop turned vigilante, trying to rid the city of a drug called Phantom, with the help of some others. Enter Luke and we have everything you could need in a story. I don’t like to give details as all books should be read and experienced in your own way but I cannot wait to get to know the rest of this group and this story was just as good as the first.

Music plays such a large part in our lives. I really found this book to be fascinating and emotional as I dove into the individual thoughts/essays and explored the music that “played” throughout. Kane does a beautiful job putting this work together. I appreciate the introspection and emotion that obviously went into crafting this work. This memoir is definitely worthwhile.

Pease is just brilliant – I love her writing style and her wonderful characters. Just a fantastic book that I will most definitely read again!

This holiday novella has all of the feels. I have a soft spot for military romances and this short story felt much bigger than its page count. The characters were heart felt and well written and the story didn’t feel contrived or forced. I loved this story. It is the perfect addition to my holiday reading list.

Carrie Pulkinen is a genius. Period. She absolutely hands down has put together the best romantic comedy series… that just happens to have a paranormal bent. And this one? Pure comedic genius. Because why wouldn’t a vampire have a lead foot and run over Santa? I loved every single page and found myself laughing for all the right reasons. You have to read this book. It is pure gold.

I love Enemies to Lovers stories but even though you know the just of the story you don’t know all the complicated stuff in-between. I honestly loved how much they hated each other it was amusing. It took me a while to warm up to Callie she just seemed a tad stuck up but i gradually started to like her. Gianluca is hot, rich and a complete prick, but that’s why you will fall in love with him. Gets very steamy at times and i cant wait for the rest of the books. I loved the Authors writing style she really brought the story well together.

Eye of Death: A paranormal romance (Vampire State Book 3) by Alexander Charalambides. This author continues to impress me once again I found myself completely lost in the pages of another fantastic addition to a great series. The characters are complex and well developed, the attention to even the smallest details always get me with this series you can tell the author takes great pride in what’s being written. The storyline is a faster paced storyline but in no way is that a bad thing it just keeps you on your toes. It’s a well written story that keeps me engaged from start to finish and I love every minute of it. I’m excited to see where this author takes readers next. Four big stars and highly recommended.

I am huge fan of War books. Each and every book I read or every movie I watch about the poignant state of Jews in the Nazi Germany deeply moves me. This is a story of Jewish doctor Esther Rosenthal who escapes from Berlin. When her husband is detained before the danger which befell on Jews in Nazi Germany. She escapes with her father and in the course of their flight to England, she meets a group of Jewish children, who were being moved from a Berlin Orphanage to England on a Kindertransport. She adopts three of them and she and her father try to support them with the best they have. They travel to New York, but Esther is forced to return to Europe because of her own personal reasons.
Together or separated, how these characters show solidarity and support to each other forms the crux of the story. Like and WW2 book, this book is also heart wrenching and deftly brings out the plight of the Jews and their extreme circumstances they were put through.
I loved the author’s narration style and I am going to pick up the first two books of the author as well.

All I want for Christmas is a short fast paced story about Kinsley and Brysen.
Brysen is in the army on a mission and Kinsley is at home waiting for him to come home for Christmas. Brysen calls Kinsley to let her know that he won’t be home for Christmas because his mission has been extended.
Kinsley is upset and her friend Dina tries to help her out of her depression.
Christmas eve comes and Kinsley gets a big surprise.

What is Kinsley surprise? Did Brysen get home for Christmas? You will have to read this sweet short Christmas story….

It is a book that is based on legend and will have you hooked from the very beginning. I wasn’t able to put it down until I had read the final page. The characters are intriguing and interesting. The basis of the book is intriguing as well as one that has to be read to understand and enjoyed. The author does an amazing job of making both the story and the characters come alive. Don’t miss out on an amazing story that is exciting and entertaining. I highly recommend reading it.

All I Want for Christmas: Military Romance Short Story by Vivian Fiano. If you’re looking for something short and sweet I highly recommend this short story. From page one I was drawn in and only sad I had to leave the characters when I did. Even with this being a short story I didn’t feel it was hindered in any way and I think this author did a wonderful job with this short story. And I just love a Christmas love story they just shot straight to my heart and this characters definitely pulled at my heartstrings from start to finish. I also have a soft spot for a military romance and I loved every minute spent in the pages of this short story. I’d definitely like to see what more this author has to give readers. Five stars for this story. Highly recommended.

This was my first book by Cori Cooper. Once I read the synopsis I was hooked. I love reading YA books. There’s just not the same “drama” as an adult book more often than not. If there is, it’s not the same and it’s a wonderful break from life. This book was so adorable. I love our main female character Cat Anderson. She’s your quintessential teenage girl. There are a lot of supporting cast members that make this book for me. Her cousin Robyn is the sweetest. I also read this book out loud with my son’s at bed time. Now we have to bake every recipe in the book! I recommend this book for a great, sweet, magical read.

I have loved all of Brooke May’s romances that I have picked up by her and was so excited to get my hands on this one. Aiko is the first in The Heartstrings Series and I will definitely be following this one as it unfolds closely. This is a light and easy read that will have you swooning and giggling at all the right moments. I loved how this made cupid seem realistic or believable. Aiko is cupid and she is not slated to be the best one lol. She has had the worst luck. Alejandro is her latest client to find love for but what will happen when Aiko’s heart starts making some objections to hooking him up with anyone but her?!?! This is a fun one you don’t want to miss. I can’t wait to see what book two will bring us.

This series just keeps getting better and better, a feat I though Charalambides had made difficult to do with the last book in this series. Eye of Death is the third book in the Vampire State series from Charalambides. I would recommend that you start with book one if you haven’t before diving into this one. This is not your typical vampire or vampire romance series and really reimagines the rules we have come to expect in this particular trope. I love the action and adventure as well as the world building Charalambides weaves into his novels. I feel as if I could be right there alongside my favorite characters as they experience these adventures. I can’t say much more about the story line that isn’t already mentioned in the synopsis without ruining too much so I won’t. I can promise you this is one you do not want to miss out on reading though and you will be hooked on Charalambides unique writing styles that I have also come to love. Can’t wait for the next thing from him!

Bake Believe by Cori Cooper. This story was great I actually read it with my niece and she loved it. She on numerous occasions wanted to read more and more. It’s a fun story that can help anyone get into the reading zone. The characters are well developed and brought the story to life in a great way. My niece and I are both looking forward to more from this author. I love that this book was something that brought my niece and I together in something we both love. It’s well written and paced nicely. I’d definitely give this story a high four star review. I recommend all the way.

Where have I been that I missed this sweet and engaging author?? I haven’t read anything by her but when it came across my timeline I saw the bright and sweet cover and knew I had to check it out and see what story laid beyond it. I was so pleasantly surprised with how much this novel swept me off my feet as I read. This book has all the holiday cheer you could want with a holiday book and plenty of other layers like cozy mystery, romance, and some paranormal tidbits as well. There is literally something for everyone in this perfect holiday read. I will personally be going back for more of Heartwood Hollow’s stories and more of Joanie I hope as well. These characters will make you feel as if you have a whole new family to visit from time to time. I want someday to experience a small town Christmas like the Hallmark movies tote because it seems so magical and unique. This book read like a Hallmark movie and has won a spot on my favorite list. I can’t wait to see what else Rosie Pease has available and whatever may come in the future from her!

I really enjoyed this  book. It is full of fun and laughed and of course romance.

Aiko is a cupid but she’s an unlucky one. Everything she touches goes wrong. When she is banned for dealing with humans she goes to people watch as a way to spend her days. That is until she gets her next assignment.

As a cupid Aiko’s job is to help people meet and fall in love. Should be easy right? However her assignment is Alejandro.
On the surface Alejandro is perfect. Hes good looking, works as a vet and is very romantic however he can’t seem to keep a woman.

Aiko’s job is to find him his Mrs right and help him settle down. But things aren’t that simple and when he fights her at every turn her task seems impossible.

Will she be able to find Alejandro his perfect match? Is she doomed to fail like all the other times she’s dealt with humans?

What can I say about The Last Playlist: A Sonic Epitaph by P.A. Kane? There is so much boiling around in me right now. First and foremost, I loved it. I’m about five years older than Mr. Kane and I am a child of the sixties. So much of the music he uses flowed through my head. I was right back there, in that time, I could feel the sun on my face, smell the newly mown grass, and hear the children playing in the background. That’s the magic of music, it defines us in ways we cannot express, although Mr. Kane does an excellent job in this novel. I have to say, and you whoever you are can have your own opinion, Mr. Kane is a liberal and I am a conservative. What struck me most about this novel is how much alike we actually are. We recognize the same problems, we want solutions, we want justice for all, and we want freedom for all. But in this chaotic, super overcharged political climate we can’t listen to each other long enough to see how very similar we are. Our methods and theories on solving the problems are shaped by our life experiences. Mr. Kane doesn’t offer solutions in this book; he expresses what is in his heart and how his life experiences have shaped him. Oh, how I wish we could all just listen to each other and actually hear what is being said. Excellent job Mr. Kane, I wish I could give you more than five stars.

This also wasn’t your normal rich guy who has everything sorted out and young office intern who’s life is a complete mess. This time there’s an extra twist…. hes also has some things to sort out….
Superb characters and the storyline flowed flawlessly.

The Last Playlist: A Sonic Epitaph by P.A. Kane is a non-fictitious memoir of the author’s life played by music. He uses words and music to weave his story and the essence of his life. We all tend to see; smell hear something that reminds us of certain events in our lives and that is what PA has done with his story. It is an intriguing way to tell a story and he invites us to write our own stories in the same way. It is easy to see that his life is one of looking inward and reflection. Truly finding oneself is never easy but there is also so much more room for growth as we continue to reflect and age.

Urban Justice is the second book in the Chicago Vigilantes series by India Kells. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend you read this series in order. This book had me reading well past my bed time and I don’t regret being tired the next morning. This was definitely a roller coaster of a ride, I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. This is in my top five books I have read this year. Sloan’s and Luke have chemistry and are really interesting characters. If you like action and adventure with you romance, this is the book for you.
