This is my first book by Allyson Abbott and it won’t be my last. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It has action, tension and a lot of sad situations.

The Matchmaker and The Marine is a sweet second chance small town romance that I couldn’t stop reading till I finished. There were moments where my heart ached for Melinda and Adam as they both suffered a loss. She lost her husband and decided to move and started a matchmaking business called “It’s just Coffee “. She wanted to help people find the kind of love she had with her husband. Adam is a retired Marine who absolutely stole my heart. These two meet at a wedding and become fast friends. The attraction is definitely there but both of them needed move on from there past. I could go on and on but I don’t want to give anything away. I highly recommend reading this Book. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

The thriller and the crime genre are two of my favorites. I always look for these genres when I am looking for something to read. This story is no different. I love the idea of twins and one of them having a third twin, you read that right one of the twins has a twin in his brain and never seen. The characters are drafted in such a manner that you are feeling like you are right there with them. The plotline kept me sitting at the edge of my seat. I found myself flipping the pages just because I sat on the edge of my seat to see what is going to happen next. David the third twin is coming out more since their mom has gotten sick. How will Aaron and Branson handle their situation? What is David’s roll in the family dynamic? I highly recommend this story to get your adrenaline moving.

Wrapped Up in You is a beautifully written romance novel by Erin Bevan. Jenny Claus is a princess looking for her husband amongst a group of suitors. Her Gala and Christmas for children is at jeopardy when someone crashes into the toy factory. Logan Moss suffers from partial amnesia from a plane crash. He’s become interested in Jenny and when he finds out she has 3 weeks to pick a husband he is hopeful that will be him. Only problem is, he can’t remember if he has a wife already. Jenny has a tough decision to make in such a short amount of time. She doesn’t know if she should follow her heart or keep true to her princess duties. This story was both whimsical and heartwarming, something about Christmas time fills me with so much joy.

Ashes to Ashes Box Set: Books 1 to 3 by Rowena Holloway is a really good read. I read each of the books separately and highly recommend this box set.
Book One is Bad Things Happen. Charlotte Ashe is a tv weather girl who is looking for her big break into serious stories. When footballer, Joey Baptiste, gives her the story of a lifetime it is signing his own death warrant. Can Charlotte figure out this story or will Joey’s death be in vain?
This is an intriguing book with good characters and story. It felt a bit disjointed at times because it jumps time periods but I get why the author was doing this in the end. Overall I enjoyed this read and look forward to more in the series. Charlotte is interesting and there seems to be much more to her story that wasn’t revealed in this book.
Book Two is Less You Know. I was excited to read this book because I enjoyed the first one in the series a lot. The character of Charlotte continues to grow but this also means she finds herself falling into some strange rabbit holes in her investigations. Lies and coverups are all over the place and it makes her question everything she knows. I enjoyed the writing because it kept the story at a good pace and I didn’t want to put the book down. The characters are interesting and add to the overall suspense and mystery.
Book Three is From The Ashes. This series and the characters have grown with each book. This is a gripping thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. When I thought it was winding down something else would be discovered or happen. I really enjoy the character Charlotte and have enjoyed reading about her and seeing her grow as a character. I will definitely be looking for more from this author in the future.
Again this is a great suspenseful series that I recommend reading.

This is an exciting and gripping read which had me hooked from page one. A great mix of magic, mystery and murder and full of drama this is a fast paced page turner. Newly adopted teenager Megan has been conscripted to take on an insidious serial killer who has been targeting wizards along with cocky and athletic Tyson. This feels like history repeating itself for Megan as this is her second quest with a magical twist and involving legendary enchanted swords. Battling with an “army of inhuman cultists and the machinations of a bloodthirsty, insidious serial killer of wizards”, Megan also has to keep Tyson’s attitude under control all whilst trying to reach their subterranean goal. Both Megan and Tyson must work together and face their fears, but soon Megan wonders who her real enemy is. This book took me on a great adventure along with Megan and Tyson who were both great characters. I was immersed in the supernatural world thanks to Charalambides great world building. I found this novel to be an exciting read and although it is book three in the ‘Black Blade’ series it can be read as a standalone story.

Meanwhile widower and single Dad, John Hambrice is barely keeping his construction company afloat and money is tight and so when he’s offered the job to restore Rosalyn Manor he can not believe his luck. Lesley and John do not have great first impressions of each other as she thinks he’s just a ‘country boy’ and he thinks her city lifestyle means she’s all about the money. However as the summer roles on and the longer they are working together and as the temperatures rise, neither can deny their mutual attraction. John discovers that there is much more to the ‘city girl’ than he expected and Lesley learns that behind the ‘country boy’s’ gruff exterior actually hides a heart of gold. Both of them have lost so much in love before and so must decide if the chance of another broken heart is worth the risk. This is a heartwarming story which took me on an emotional rollercoaster. It’s a wonderfully written novel with some lovely characters and I was hooked from page one.

This was a great steamy supernatural read. The characters are so well written that even though Raif is a demon you can’t help but love him and his connection with Sara is hot and steamy and gripping.

Raif is a demon from Hell, he wanders the earth looking for mortals to inslave. That is until Sara catches his eye. After being in the shadows and watching her for months he eventually makes his presence know to her. He wants her but he wants her to give herself willingly to him.

Sara is a single woman who has nothing but bad luck. Her mother passed away, her boyfriend left her, her career has nose dived and her landlord has his sights on her. Everything is going wrong and she doesn’t know how she is going to cope. That is until Raif arrives into her life. He promises to make her life better, to give her everything she desires all she has to do is surrender to him.
Raif takes control of her life and shows her a side of herself she was unaware of. He allows her to try things that she once thought shameful but being with a demon they have no shame.

Can she become everything Raif is looking for? Can she give herself up to him completely? And will their connection change them both for the worse.

Fall: The Ragnarok Prophecies: #2 by A.K. Morgen is the follow up story to Fade. I would recommend reading these books in order as I felt like I was obviously missing a lot by not having done so myself. The overall story was well written, although it felt like it was a little slow progression wise in places. But this author has created a world that was vivid and easy to imagine. The characters have a lot going on as well. Even without having read book one you can feel their connection and what they have been through. I will definitely be going back and reading book one and I am very much looking forward to seeing what else is to come.

Love Comes in the Mourning by Erin Bevan is an emotional story that will draw you in and keep a tight hold right until the last page. The characters have such a complexity about them that you cannot resist being pulled into their lives. I loved that they came across as flawed, and not perfect people.
The whole story had such a great pace about it. The author has done an amazing job of knowing exactly what the story needs and when. I have read a few books by this author now but there was something about this one that really caught my attention. It is easily my favourite one so far. If you haven’t read this author before then please do yourself a favour and go out and buy this book today.

I loved Lucinda’s writing style and can’t wait to read more from her!

In a race against time, will she put who she is on the chopping block to save the community and the world as a whole?
This book is a multi-layered trip on the mind as you travel between fantasy and the real world (in book form) but it’s entertaining from start to finish. Quite the page-turner as it keeps you tuning in to see which way Ezri goes, great action and suspense, unpredictable and great world building between two worlds of fantasy and the regular world. This book was nothing short of incredible.

Be One With Me by CA Miconi is book two of the Finding Love in Green Springs series. There is some overlap from book one so I highly suggest reading the books in order but that shouldn’t be a hardship as both books are enjoyable!

Sally and Nolan both know a little about cancer and the pain loss can cause. Sally is independent and intelligent bit after the loss of her mom, finds herself a bit lost and running from the only life she’s known. Nolan also knows the feeling of loss. He however had no plans of leaving Green Springs. He’s got his business to take care of but he can’t help but feel lonely. Sally and Nolan no doubt are attracted to each other and have in common the loss caused by cancer but is that enough for them to build a relationship on?

This book was so sweet but also had some very emotional moments. You couldn’t help but root for Sally and Nolan’s happiness. I couldn’t put this book down!

Be One with Me (Finding Love in Green Springs Book 2) by CA Miconi

I had been waiting for this book since I had enjoyed the first so much and I wasn’t disappointed at all. I think I might have liked this book more than the first. Barbara definitely had a hand in that.

We finally get Nolan and Sally’s story. From how they met to how they came to be together. I knew there was a bit of a love hate between them but now all of my questions were answered about them.

I cannot recommend this book enough, there were just so many sweet moments throughout the book. Don’t know which is my favorite, but there are a few competing.

This book can be read as a standalone, but I’m one of those people who prefer to read books in a series in order. Hope you give this great couple a chance to tell you their story.

Be One With Me is the second book in the Finding Love in Green Spring series by CA Miconi. This book can be read as a standalone but the first book is just s good so I highly recommend you read the series in order. The words that come to mind while reading this book are Sweet and Spicy. The story flows smoothly and the characters are relatable. Sally and Nolan have some amazing chemistry, now they just need to get out of their own way to get to the good stuff. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Love Comes in the Mourning by Erin Bevan is an emotional contemporary second chance romance that hits you right in the feels. You will go through the gambit of tears to laughter. The characters are intriguing and well developed and it did take a little bit to settle in with them but once they both took a step back, they felt so much more relatable and quite lovable.

John and Lesley are two of the most unlikely people to fall in love. Him a widow and her a divorcee and from two different worlds. Not only do we have their love story there is another story in the background that shares a sordid and sad tale.

I enjoyed this tale and am interested to see what comes next from Erin.

Megan finally finds a home and she does not want to be left behind to worry, thus begins the quest to find the one who is killing off magical people.

Sally lives in Chicago. She is a successful woman who has her own business. While on her deathbed Sally’s mom shares a huge secret, her father is alive and she tells her where to look for him. Sally ends up doing an ancestry submission to see if she can find any family. Sally gets a match and reaches out to a possible family member, and things take off from there.

Nolan is a country boy with his own business. He hasn’t had any interest in women until he meets Sally. Sally is feisty and he is attracted to her instantly. She has come to town to meet her family. Can Nolan convince Sally to go out with him? Will Sally finally find the family she has been missing?

Nolan and Sally both have lost a loved one to cancer, this is one of many connections that they have. I really loved Nolan and how old school he was, opening doors, etc. Overall I really enjoyed this book. It can be read as a stand alone. I would love to see more from these two. The author did an amazing job in building a great fantasy world that took me on an amazing adventure. I enjoyed this book and loved reading it. I highly recommend this book and this series.

The Matchmaker and the Marine by Lucinda Race was a great example of why I love second chance romances. As my first book by this author, Melinda and Adam’s story was heartwarming and full of emotions that I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Both of these characters had an uphill battle to fight through and it was great to see how the right person can help fight those battles. I can’t wait to read more books from this small town and check out other books by this author.

Boy on Hold is a bitter sweet crime story by J.D. Spero that is not your usual run of the mill crime story. This was my first read by the writer and I can say now that it is a story that any crime lover would enjoy reading. It is a story told from multiple point of views that pulls you even deeper into the story that is filled with twists and turns and heart ache and realities of addiction, mental illness, and murder.
In the center of the story is a seven year old Henry ‘Hen’ Trout who witness his neighbour’s, sweet old Miss Sally’s murder during the Cabbage Night in a small Adirondack town. He is a troubled child whose way of looking at the world will fascinate you and steal your heart. It is his older, seventeen year old brother Tyler that is arrested for the crime. All the evidence points to Tyler and his mother and his brother struggle with it being a possibility …
The writer takes us deep into the dynamics a broken family, a single mother struggling to keep it together and small town filled with plenty of shady characters. She tells the story in such a considerate way that even though one could think that surely this story is way too depressing; it never pulls you too down. Still, it is heart breaking and it stays with you for a while, be prepared.

Being Lost: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #1 by Manda Mellett is the next first book in the Satan’s Devils saga that is set in the San Diego chapter. MC President Dart is plagued with a ghost from the past, the old Prez Snake (who was disposed of in an earlier book) is keeping him awake and making him doubt his abilities. Patsy is a loving mum who gave up everything in order to ensure that her youngest son had the best chance of making a new life for himself. Under the protection of the MC Patsy finds her life may be in danger from the very crime boss that made her son need to go into hiding. Lost has an affinity for Patsy and their romance starts to blossom while the MC also comes up with a plan to keep Pasty safe. I am already a big fan of the Arizona Satan’s Devils books, so it was enjoyable to see how the San Diego chapter had changed in the last three years. As with all the other books Satan’s Devils series this book is perfect for those who like an alpha biker doing all he can to protect his woman, with a lovable cast of supporting characters that you just can’t help wanting to learn more about. Looking forward to the next book.

This story is definitely full of suspense and kept me entertained throughout the entire read. The author did an exceptional job of detailing so that you felt like you were there. There are some unexpected developments in this story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I had a hard time putting this book down till I found out the outcome. This was a great and intriguing read. I find this an emotional read and also a thought provoking one. The issues surrounding teenage mental health is dealt with both honestly and sensitively. The characters really drew me in and I was hooked from page one of the novel. A fascinating read for both young adults and adults alike.

I won’t lie, I had no idea what I was going to be getting myself into when I picked up The Equalizer: Foxxy’s Tipping Point by Allyson R. Abbott. I chose it and had to have it when I saw the cover. I mean what is not to love about the drool worthy cover haha. I couldn’t wait to see what this was all about and I am so glad that I did. We meet Foxxy, a call girl with a terrible pimp and life that leaves a lot to be desired. Foxxy meets one evening a man who has decided that she is the one and will stop at nothing to make sure he gets her. He offers her a better life, and even better revenge against her terrible pimp. The problem is Foxxy doesn’t know if she should trust him. I honestly loved these two and reading their story. I was on the edge of my seat a lot of the time hoping and praying that Foxxy would get her happily ever after. I will definitely be back for book two in the series and I can’t wait to see what adventure awaits us there!

4 Stars!!!!

Wow another series off to a great start. I have read many of this author’s MC series and this is yet again another great start to introducing us to yet another chapter. The characters just jump off of the page and are very realistic. I like how the author is able to bring in just enough drama and intrigue and mix in romance.

I like how Lost and Patsy are in a way each other’s saviour. It really is a lovely romance even though it is wrought at the beginning with danger. I like how the Satan’s Devils are able to keep everyone safe. I like though how this series ties into the other, and how there is a nice little cliffe hanger at the end. I am so intrigued to find out how this little intrigue will tie into the series and how things will begin to unfold. I cannot wait to read more from this author and this series.

I was so taken with the first book in this The Divided Series from M. Billiter and Kyle Thomas. I personally don’t think that this one should be read until you have first read the first book. In that one we meet the twins and discover the demons they are battling as well as the impact that they have on their family and life. In this one, The Divided Twin, we pick up when the twins are away at college and focus on the boys in a time of life that is complicated to live without an altering mental illness. I love how raw these books get. It is obvious the topic is close to the heart of the authors and it shines through in the way this takes no punches yet throws them over and over in a way that will make you question everything. I can’t get enough of these books and am really hopeful we will get more in the future of the twins stories. I will say this book takes really dark issues and may be triggering to some. I also feel like it is a good window into a world most are completely unaware exists and should be read, so proceed with what will be best for you.
