Releasing Her Power Within (Fae Shifters Book 1) by Madilynn Dale – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Releasing Her Power Within (Fae Shifters Book 1)Releasing Her Power Within by Madilynn Dale
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a new author for me and I enjoyed this book. I can’t wait to see what comes next for her. I enjoyed how well developed this book is. Her attention to details made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. I enjoyed how the characters made the story come to life and I had no problem connecting with them. Liz has come to a point in her life that she wants more. Her mother left her a cabin so she decided to take a leap and move there. Now she is starting a new job and a new chapter. The cabin comes with its own mysteries and stories, will Liz figure them out? Will she regret her leap of faith? This is a great story that I had a hard time putting down. I was pulled in right from the start with Liz. I don’t regret picking this book up and neither will you. I highly recommend this book.

Testament of Feats: Book of Sorrows Book Two by K.H. Jones – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Testament of Feats: Book of Sorrows (Book Two 2)Testament of Feats: Book of Sorrows by Kimm Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the exciting second book in Jones’s ‘Testament of Feats’ series and having read and thoroughly enjoyed book one I was not disappointed by this second instalment. I personally think that you do need to read this series in order to fully appreciate the storyline and to know the characters backstories. This book carries on from the first book and the ‘Ranger’ named Night Scream is continuing his hunt for his missing fellow Ranger, Warhold. When Scream encounters problems on his journey it forces him to go into wildling territory in search of killers.
This is a fast paced fantasy adventure with great characters, both the heroes and villains come alive off the page thanks to the authors wonderful descriptions. The is a unique story which really pulled me in and I was gripped by Scream’s epic adventure, as I was with book one. I felt I was immersed in the storyline by the authors detailed world building. I recommend this epic fantasy adventure.

Jake the Growling Dog Goes to Doggy Day Care by Samantha Shannon is a brilliant follow up to the first book. I read this book to my daughter and she absolutely loved it. She was engaged with the book from the start. She was interacting with the pictures and each page made her pause to “tell me all about it”.
I also loved this book. This story was so good and was a great way to see what might be going on in my little ones mind. It was a fun story that was easy to read and enjoyable for all. I would recommend this to any parent!

Endless Night by R.M. Gilmore was a great sequel story! I again had trouble putting this novel down! Loved the characters, the development and the story line. Dylan again had all the humor and wit that you could possibly fit into a story. Loved the drama and the suspense that was interwoven. Definitely wasn’t a disappointment after reading the first book in series. Can’t wait to read the next!

Of Magic and ScalesOf Magic and Scales by Natalina Reis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have yet to find a novel by Natalina Reis that I didn’t absolutely love and want to devour in one sitting, and Of Magic & Scales is no exception to the rule. I seriously love the way that Natalina can weave a tale full of magic and fable and make you feel as if you know these characters personally and are very much real. She makes me believe in the magic and I love the feelings I experience as I read her work! This is a MM romance so if that isn’t your thing don’t read but I bet it would make you a believer in the genre!

Of Magic & Scales is full of magic and adventure, laced with suspense and romance to break up the darkness of it all. I never can get enough of the characters that Reis creates but Aiden and Nael have a special spot in my heart for them and I am so hooked on their story. I love how the mystery is set up and can only hope that this means we will not only get more of this fabulous storyline but more of these characters that have sucked me in completely! I know I will be first in line to get my hands on the next one!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Hero High series from Mina Chara and I would highly recommend that you read the first book in the series before you start with this one. This book does pick right up where we left off with book one and the characters continue on through as well as grow as you read. This is a young adult book so written towards that genre and I rather enjoyed it still. This series packs a punch and gives you lots of different story tidbits to please just about any reader. Everything from adventure, action, drama, mystery and suspense is thrown in to keep you on the edge of your seat reading to find out if the characters will make it through whatever task they are plagued with at the time. I look forward to seeing where the story will go next in the next book to come.

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3): A Small Town Romantic Comedy Series by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Karyn Taylor

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3)Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This box set includes the 3 full length novels which are books 1-3 of the Romance In Rehoboth series by K.L. Montgomery. These books are:
1. Music Man
2. The Flip
3. Plot Twist
An earlier edition of this box set had a different book as book 1.
I am a great fan of K.L. Montgomery having read a few of her books before. In fact I have read the 4th book in this series ‘Badge Bunny’. These books have kickass female leads who I adore. Claire in Music Man and Lindy in Plot Twist are both larger, curvaceous ladies which is very unusual in modern romances. Usually the main characters are stick thin and drop dead gorgeous. I love that K.L. Montgomery has more natural, realistic characters. In fact, Jack in book 1 is also described as having a more curvy shape rather than the usual chiselled, muscular, model type male lead.
I love that K.L. Montgomery takes issues that everyday people go through and use them in her books. It makes them so much more relatable. There is so much stigma against overweight and obese people and I just adore that Montgomery is brave enough to use such characters as her lead and uses their weight as an issue in the storyline.
I haven’t mentioned book 2 ‘The Flip’ so far. The flip is a funny enemies to lovers story that will have you laugh so much at times you will be in tears. The dynamic between Andrew (Drew) and Sonnet is fantastic. The venomous and vicious barbs that they throw at each other at the beginning is so comical.
I now can’t wait to jump right into the next box set. The question is do I start from the beginning and read Badge Bunny again or jump straight to Wedding Wars? Hmmmm.

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3): A Small Town Romantic Comedy Series by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3)Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Romance in Rehoboth is a small town romantic comedy series by K.L. Montgomery, the box set contains three standalone complete stories. Book one is Music Man, which is a single dad rock star romance, book two, The Flip, is a home improvement enemies-to-lovers story and Plot Twist, book three, is where backstage romance develops with a reluctant leading lady and the leading man she thinks is way out of her league. All three stories are a fun read with sweet romantic storylines and plenty of comedy. Each story has a strong, quirky heroine and a down to earth man who loves the independent lady. The stories always have a well-deserved happily ever after but only following plenty of drama and crazy shenanigans all with the background setting being Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
I thoroughly enjoyed all three books in this box set. The characters are likeable and relatable and I felt immersed in the beautiful setting described by Montgomery of Rehoboth beach.
Music Man is about Claire and Jack, Claire is an independent and strong female lead character and Jack is essentially a nice guy who loves music and finally gets his big break late in life but will this effect Claire and Jack’s new relationship. I like the fact that Montgomery has written a romance novel where the main characters are over 40, rather than the younger norm. The storyline flowed nicely and I was cheering them on hoping for them to get their happy ever after.
The Flip, focuses on Andrew and Sonnet who have hated each other since they competed against each other for the top scores in high school. They are both shocked when ten years later they are both named heirs to a quaint beachside cottage in Bethany Beach, Delaware. The house belonged to Penelope Vaughn, Andrew’s Great Aunt and Sonnet’s next door neighbour who was more like family to her. Unfortunately the cottage needs a lot of work and so Andrew and Sonnet decide to do the place up and as they spend time together they find their feelings change and go from enemies to lovers, it’s a sweet and funny romance.
Plot Twist, is a story about the behind the scenes romances that develop when Jack and Claire Reilly write a original musical featuring pirates which they plan on turning into a show. Meric Chandler is a slightly neurotic, shy accountant by day but a leading man once he’s on the stage. Lindy Larson has a stunning voice but two left feet and prefers to stay behind the scenes, however her girlfriends convince her to audition for a new local theatre production and so Meric and Lindy meet. Meric is not convinced about having another relationship with a women he meets on the stage having met his ex wife that way but he can’t deny the chemistry between himself and Lindy. Another fun, sweet romance with great characters and a storyline which flows well. I liked the fact that Lindy as the main female character was a plus-size girl, likeable and relatable.
Three fantastic stories all within one box set with great characters, lots of chemistry between the lovers and three sweet and funny romance stories. I definitely recommend this box set.

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 4-6): A Small Town Romantic Comedy Series by K.L. Montgomery

5+++++++ Stars

I loved the first 3 books in this series, which if you haven’t grabbed yet you really should, they are all boxed up pretty like these 3 are, so 2 clicks you get 6 books…and worth every single penny.

KL Montgomery is an absolute favorite of mine. She is an amazing writer that will play on every single feeling you never even knew you had. The 3 books in this series are all perfect additions to Romance in Rehoboth, characters crossover and weave in and out of all the books. Some of my favorite reading is romantic comedy and that’s just one reason this series is a favorite, the writing style of the author is another. Her character interactions are spot on and none of these stories are completely predictable. I must say, each one of these is a favorite for one reason or another. Badge Bunny gives us the enemies to lovers story and that is always a no brainer for me. Wedding War gives us the Hatfields and Mccoys feel with a child from each trying really hard not to like each other. Then there’s Stage Mom, this gives us a mom fighting for her special needs daughter to be treated the same as anyone else, I have a special needs grandson and this one hit me square in the feels.

I’m so glad she has boxed this series, 2 clicks and I have some of the best reading and I can not wait to take a weekend and read them all back to back again. You can read any one of them as a standalone but don’t do that, I promise you will want them all after just reading one!

Will be buying all of these in paperback since I already have a spot saved for all of them.

Amazingly Awesome!

I was hooked on every book and loved each and every character more and more each time. They have amazing storylines that connect you to the characters and their stories, they have emotion, drama, laughter, romance, passion & love, they all are real reads that you can’t help but be captivated with! This is an author not to be missed, these are reads not to be missed! Don’t miss out I highly recommend this box set!

Southern Promises: The Complete Series (A Contemporary Romance Standalone Box Set) by K.G. Fletcher

5++++++++++ Stars

This set contains 3 books that sit up in my top 10 series list of all time. This is where I began reading this author’s work and fell in love pretty quick. I’ve since read her others and literally just wait for the next book she comes out with. Here is my breakdown per book in this series.

Georgia Clay –
This is my first book by this author and I have fallen in love!!! I am a country music fan anyway and have always wanted to take a week or two and tour Nashville, and this book made me want to make that dream come true even quicker.
Katie and Clay met in High School and he always had a crush on her yet never told her. They meet again at their 10 year High School reunion and their connection was immediate. I think I loved the most how they started with building their friendship and then it progressed into more. I also loved the long distance part of the story and seeing how although not easy it can work.
This was just an all around awesome book, and her character development was spot on even with the secondary roles.

Georgia On My Mind –
I Loved this book!! I loved the first one as well but I think this one is my favorite. You could absolutely read this as a standalone, but dont…The first one Georgia Clay is completely awesome and those characters are in this book as well 🙂
This storyline was amazing, you take 2 broken people who just want to be happy but can’t seem to escape their pasts and you have all sorts of emotions while reading. I had all the feels while reading this story and there were times I just didn’t know what was going to happen. Hart and Gia were both such great people yet made some not so great decisions that almost ruined their lives. Can they get past these and find hope, love and happiness with each other?

Georgia Pine –
WOW…This book deserves so so so many more stars than just the normal max 5!! I loved the first two in this series, they were fantastic, but let me just say that this one……. Oh.Em.Gee!! Holy Emotions, and WOW!!!
What can I say about Tim, well I can say without a shadow of a doubt that he is now firmly and forever in my all time top 5 book boyfriends. He stole my heart in the first couple pages and he never let go. I kept looking at my reading speed while I went along and kept saying to myself..slow down you don’t want this to end and that was right from the start because you can just tell when a book is going to affect you that way. Then it happened…at about 75% in…my heart took a beating for the last 25% of this book, now don’t get me wrong it was awesome all the way to that point, the buildup was written perfectly..but then the ugly, breath catching, nose blowing eyes swelling crying began. The emotions this author brought out through this whole book, yea I felt them all.
Seriously people…Read this series, I’m not even kidding…You won’t be sorry!

This author has become an automatic one click for me..Her writing style is spot on and the way her stories flow you just get started and then the next thing you know you’re done.

I already want to read them all over again…and again! I also want the paperbacks so this series can sit on my shelves next to the rest of my favorites.

WOW!!

This is the first book I have read from this author and I am now hooked. This is the first book from the Hero High series and what a perfect start to a series. I was excited when I started this book. Shift Happens: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 2)
By Carrie Pulkinen
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Shift Happens: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen. It pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a story that is funny and romantic. I love the characters of Sophie Burroughs and Trace Thibodeaux. Sophie is independent, sassy, and wants to be a witch. She finds herself accused of crimes against a werewolf pack as well as bitten by Trace. Trace is trying hard not to let his attraction to Sophie interfere with his investigation of the crimes that his pack believes Sophie has committed. The problem is that he can’t seem to focus when she is around. What does the future hold for Trace and Sophie? Will Sophie be able to prove that she is not guilty of crimes against his pack? Will Trace be able to keep himself from completely falling for Sophie? Read this book to find out what happens. This is a story that had me laughing out loud at the banter that goes back and forth between the characters. There is both humorous and flirty banter. There are romantic scenes that make the temperature in the room rise. I love that some of the characters from the first book are brought forward into this one. Don’t miss out on the amazing second story in this series. I highly recommend it.

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 4-6)
By K.L. Montgomery
5 stars

Yet again another wonderful set of 5 star books from this totally amazing author! I love everything about the books that she writes, the characters, the dynamic relationships, the uniqueness of the storylines – I just know that every time I pick up one of her books I will learn something and I am always made to think about what I have read and have an open mind about everything in this world!
In this boxed set we have Badge Bunny, Wedding War and Stage Mom – all in my opinion 5 star reads and well worthy of reading as soon as possible! I loved how all of the stories were completely different – something that I always find with this author. I try not to pick favourites but I absolutely adored Badge Bunny! The main characters Brynne and Chris just had something about them that made me fall in love straight away! The storyline was great, it grabbed my attention straight away, and she knows how to put a mix of humour, romance and serious moments into her stories.
Chris was as I expected out hero to be, a hot, sexy alpha male who is particularly swoon-worthy but with a side that I was totally not expecting which made me love him even more!! Brynne was a great heroine in the story, she was feisty and although she had a little bit of a reputation for being ‘Badge Bunny’ I loved that there was more to her than meets the eye. I thought that they were prefect for each other and was definitely rooting for them the whole way through.

Overall a wonderful boxed set of stories and one that I would recommend you one click today!!

Of Magic and Scales by Natalina Reis a magical five-star read. I really enjoyed the mystery and the sounds of the ocean will just enrapture you. The world building and character descriptions are well done and will help you settle into the story, the murder mystery elements and the romance blend together to make you feel the story. It wasn’t my favourite M/M story, but it was well done and a good story overall and shows us the talent that Natalina Reis has as an author.

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3): A Small Town Romantic Comedy Series by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Jenni Bishop

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3)Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Romance in Rehoboth is a three-book box set by KL Montgomery. Each is fun and engaging and should not be.

Music Man (Romance in Rehoboth Book 1) was just what I needed. A nice and refreshing funny romance comedy. I love that KL writes about real women with less than what others perceive perfect bodies. There were lots of feels in this story, but I laughed out loud so often my husband thought I had gone bonkers. KL has a way with words that just make you settle in for the ride and enjoy yourself.

The Flip (Romance in Rehoboth Book 2) is a sweet romance story that is an easy, light and enjoyable read. The characters are fun and engaging and will make you laugh out loud and make your heart flutter. The story is told from their different POV’s which gave it more of that pop factor. K.L. has that magic factor when writing her stories and this one had it in spades. Her word building of the characters and the world in which they live have you imagining each and every vibrant piece by piece to make the story a whole. K.L. is one author that should always be on your read list as her stories are easy and connective and just the right amount of bite size to keep you satisfied.

Plot Twist (Romance in Rehoboth Book 3) is a fun romantic comedy and I loved this sweet story. This story has many great facets that make for a wonderful read. Set in a small town, with a musical, a dog and a second chance at love will have you falling in love with these crazy wonderful people characters. I also love that none of these characters are perfect; they are just as flawed as the rest of us and size doesn’t matter. Meric has been burnt and has sworn off woman. Lindy is shy and is looking after her elderly parents. But what they find together is something they never saw coming. If you want to know what happens, then grab a copy today. You will not be disappointed.

Anger (Hero High Book 2) by Mina Chara – Review by Angela Hayes

Anger by Mina Chara
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Anger is the second book in the Hero High series by Mina Chara. This is a Young Adult fantasy adventure story set in a near future world, Icon City. This book follows on from book one, picking up where book one ended. So, if you haven’t read the first book, I highly recommend that you do, so you have all the information you need to enjoy this book fully.
Friday knows she’s being watched, but she needs answers and is trying to figure everything out. She has to be careful and not let on what she’s doing- because she really doesn’t know who she can trust- especially Hero Channel. There is a lot for her to keep track of, and a lot to try and piece together. She’ll have to trust herself and be strong to get through.
A great instalment in the series- an interesting little adventure, with mystery, drama, an evil villain, and more. So, if you love young adult fantasy, with mystery, adventure, and ‘superhero’ types- then you will definitely want to add this to your collection.

Thank you, Mina Chara!

A Gentleman’s Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon Book 4) by Jean Wilde – Review by Katie Kearney

A Gentleman's Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon, #4)A Gentleman’s Stipulation by Jean Wilde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Gentleman’s Stipulation (The Scarlet Salon Book 4) by Jean Wilde. I’ve just recently gotten more into historical fiction and this one has definitely pulled me in even more. This author wrote characters that drew me into their world. The back and forth between the characters was great and had me hooked. Each character brings something unique to the storyline and they are relatable making easy to be lost in the pages. It’s a well thought out and well written story that has a nice pace. I’m excited to see where this author takes readers next. I’m giving this story a four star review and highly recommend it.

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3): A Small Town Romantic Comedy Series by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3)Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Music Man

Music Man by K.L. Montgomery is book one of the Romance in Rehoboth series. This book is a standalone and the series can be read in any order. I haven’t read the series in any particular order and I haven’t missed anything.

This book is Jack and Claire’s story. Jack has always dreamed of making it big in the music industry. Sometimes things don’t always work out to plan which is how Jack ends up teaching music and meeting Claire. There is an instant connection between the two and things progress naturally between them. Claire encourages Jack not to give up on his dream and as unlikely as it may seem, Jack gets a second chance at it. With Jack’s dream job on the table, what will the future look like for the two of them?

This was such a fun, sweet story to read. I’ve read other books in the series and each book has its own feel making it such an enjoyable read!

The Flip

The Flip by K.L. Montgomery is book two of the Romance in Rehoboth series. Similar to book one, this book is a standalone and can be read in any order.

This book is the story of Andrew and Sonnet. These two couldn’t stand each other in high school. Little did they know a decade later, they would be thrown together by none other than Andrew’s great aunt. They need to put the past behind them and work together if either one of them are going to achieve their goals. Will they be able to make it through what promises to be an interesting remodel? Did Aunt Penny throw them together for other reasons? You’ll find out once you dive in to this great story!

This book was such a fun read! A great romantic comedy that keeps the pages turning!

Plot Twist

Plot Twist by K.L. Montgomery is book three of the Romance in Rehoboth series. This book can be read as a standalone. I started with book three but I enjoyed it so much I’m going to have to go back and read books one and two. This book is a romantic comedy and while I don’t read them often, this book kept my attention the whole time!

This book tells the story of Meric and Lindy who both are cast to play in an upcoming musical. Lindy has almost zero self confidence as she has always viewed herself and a plus sized woman but her voice wows Meric. Meric’s mesmerized by her voice and wants to get to know her better. Lindy is sure that she would never be the object of Meric’s affections. Meric himself has some insecurities and they stem from his failed marriage. He is sure he has no need for a relationship. But then he meets Lindy. Will these two get passed their hang ups and end up together?

I really enjoyed this book but what’s more is I enjoyed the characters. Even the secondary characters add to the story in their interactions with Lindy and Meric. It was a fun book to read.

A Study in Spirits (College Fae book #2) by Byrd Nash – Review by Katie Kearney

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Study in Spirits: A College Fae magic series #2 by Byrd Nash. Some times I have a hard time getting into a fantasy type story unless I’m really wanting one but I had absolutely no problem diving right into this one. The author did a wonderful job of writing a story that draws you in. This group of characters really know how to keep you hooked. There’s twist and turns I wasn’t expecting and loved every bit of. While on the shorter side it still packs a punch and had me happily lost in the pages well into the night. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything, with characters you won’t soon forget. I’m so excited to see where this author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3): A Small Town Romantic Comedy Series by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3)Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Romance in Rehoboth is a series of romantic comedies. Each book focuses on the story of one couple or character. They are all set in Rehoboth Beach Delaware, and are wonderfully written. While this is listed as a series, its more of a collection. While the characters overlap a bit, each book can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. That being said, once you read one, you will want to read them all! The characters and situations are realistic and you feel like you are living the story with them.
The first book, Music Man, focuses on Jack and Claire. (Read Fat Girl to get the first half of their story). Jack is a music teacher that has entered a local singing contest, at the urging of his girlfriend Claire. They are taken on a roller coaster ride as his stardom raises.
Book 2, The Flip, tells the story of Andrew and Sonnet. They were rivals in high school and then 10 years later find themselves thrown back together. They must learn to put aside their differences and get along for the sake of the house they’ve inherited.
Book 3, Plot Twist, tells the story of Meric Chandler and Lindy Larson. They are cast together in a musical, and must do their best to not ruin the show with their backstage romance.
