Who: A Stalker Series Novel by Megan Mitcham – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Who (Stalker, #1)Who by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Who, is the first standalone novel in a new “pulse-pounding psychological thriller series”, by Megan Mitcham. Featuring a fiercely independent and headstrong women in Billionaire Larkin Ashford it also contains a thrilling plot line, steamy chemistry and twists you definitely won’t see coming. It is a romantic psychological thriller full of suspense and I was gripped from page one. Larkin has built a successful fashion empire but it’s been built on bribes and when she starts receiving threatening messages she retreats to her rooftop hideaway where a mysterious and handsome man believing she is about to jump, rescues her. Larkin can not ignore the chemistry between them, and it sizzles of the page, however her friends warn her that he could be her stalker. In searching for her mystery man she uncovers dark secrets which threaten her empire unless she can determine the truth.
This is a fast paced psychological thriller with a great lead character in the sexy, sassy billionaire Larkin. The storyline had me hooked and the twists and turns kept me guessing until the end. I look forward to reading future books in Mitcham’s ‘Stalker’ series.

Holding Out For You by Anna Paige a five-star read you don’t want to hold out for, you need to get reading. I have loved reading this author before, but this one just went to the next level, I was an emotional wreck after reading this one, I was so emotionally invested in this story, I felt like it was a part of the equation. Be warned that when you start this story, you will not be able to put it down for nothing, I didn’t even get up to refill my wine glass I was so into this story. Ashton Hunter and Blair Martell will make you feel their passion, heat and pain they will wring every emotion out of you and make you feel each and every word of the page. Endless Night (Dylan Hart Book 2) by R.M. Gilmore – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Endless Night (Dylan Hart #2)Endless Night by R.M. Gilmore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second book in this series and I loved it just as much if not more than the first book. One of the things I enjoy about this author’s writing is how she creates details that make me feel as if I am part of the story. I have no problem connecting with the characters. If you have not read the first book, I highly suggest it as it will help get to know the characters more. The lovable Dylan is back in this story and headed to New Orleans this time. She is dealing with vampires and this time we add voodoo and curses to it. Dylan is still my favorite with the sassy attitude and humor it really just makes her a well rounded character. I highly recommend this must read book and this series.

This is a new age adult story that I loved from the beginning until the last page. This is an author that is fast becoming one of my go to when I need a good romance story This is a well written story that has characters that are full of heart and they make the story realistic. Blair’s brother’s best friend, Ashton, has been a person that she cannot stand as they were growing up. Ashton has always thought of Blair as a bratty and complicated. Now that they are adults, this could change everything for them. With hidden feelings, could the hatred for each other really be something more? I loved the banter and chemistry between them. They made the story flow into what this story is, a real page turner. I highly recommend their story, you won’t regret picking up this book.

Hail Mary by Hope Anika
5 Stars

Hail Mary kept me enthralled until the very end. It s the first book that I have read from this author and definitely won’t be the last. Hope Anika is an excellent writer who can easily weave multiple plots into one captivating story. Filled with mystery, romance and characters you’ll fall in love with, this is a romantic thriller that you don’t want to miss.

Wynn is a snarky, independent woman who, given her past, doesn’t trust anyone. She owns a farm with a boarding house. Her tenants are all elderly and she cares for them as if they were family. Trying to keep her head above water, she cares for them the best that she can.

Beau is a former DEA agent. After getting seriously injured and losing his wife, he returns to the county and becomes the new sheriff. Realizing that the bank was robbed by one of Wynn’s tenants, he meets the headstrong and beautiful woman. Sparks fly and the chemistry is electric. Meanwhile a serial killer strikes again and shoots fear into the hearts of the people. Beau has his plate full all while trying to battle his demons.

The author managed to keep me guessing until the end. It’s not often that I can’t figure out who done it. The story captivated me with its unique characters, suspense and humour. I definitely recommend this book.

This was a cute story by Effie Kammenou. Her plot line is great and she paints a picture with her descriptive details. Her characters are sound and complex. I feel like I am right there with Kally. It is funny to read about the character family members and how they are meddlers. Kally is a successful woman. Then Max comes into her bakery. Her life is a little more difficult now that Max has come into her bakery. I recommend you read this story to find out about Kally’s decision.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

K.L. Montgomery always has the best plot lines and characters. I am never disappointed when I pick up her books. Her characters are complex and many layers go into their personas. They are so real and I personally feel like I am in the story with them. The plot line is one that could happen in everyday life. To be honest that is one reason why I love reading K.L. Montgomery’s books. Who can honestly say that they did not fall for a music man? Even if it was just a crush. Jack’s story is just that. He is a musician man but also a single dad. Claire is that girl. She just had a milestone birthday and has fallen for her “Music Man”. What will become of the relationship with Jack and Claire? I highly recommend you reading this story to find out.

I enjoyed watching them grow together throughout the story plus their chemistry is great. Will Kally take a risk at love again? I will warn you if abuse of a child is a sensitive topic this book may be hard for you to read. Anne grew up in what appears to be a perfect home on the outside, but behind the door another tail is told. Anne is taken to her Aunt’s house but because she has been home schooled, school is tough. She is sent to a boarding school. This is when it becomes rough for Anne. In this story, Anne is a confused teenager. Zarina Macha does an amazing job with this difficult subject. Her plot line is engaging and I fell in love with the characters. I recommend this story and a box of kleenex.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars!

I love this series. This is not my typical genre but ever since I have started this series, I have been completely invested. The details of the adventures, the way the story is told and how each character is described really makes me feel like I am inside the story with them. In this book we meet Fingin and his 2 companions Sean and Bran. They are on a journey to find Fingin’s grandmother who may or may not be real. The friendships that are forged, the adventures that are had, the obstacles they face, make for an awesome story that you will not want to stop. This book can be read as a stand alone but honestly starting from the beginning is the best and it is completely worth it.

The plot line twists and turns like a roller coaster, not to mention that the action is great. There is a bank robbery that small town sheriff Beau has to catch the robbers. Enter in Wynn who has her past with law enforcement, on the wrong side but hey that makes her character work. Let’s throw in a murder into the mix and the small time is needing answers. I highly recommend this book. You will have to see what Beau and Wynn find out about what the heck is going on.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 stars!!

I love paranormal romance, and this book is so different from any others that I have read before. The characters are perfect, and I really like when each chapter tells me whose point of view the story is from. The chemistry between the characters is definitely there and the story is enticing. There are so many humorous scenarios as well. Piper is sassy and spunky and some of her quips are amusing, but at some points I wish she would just stay quiet for her own good. The six brothers all seem protective over her, knowing she is nothing like any of the other maids they have had before, she is not throwing herself at one or all of them. When their older vampire friend Valentine comes to visit, he takes a liking to Piper and now it seems like shit is about to hit the fan, and that is where we leave off with book one. I was so wrapped up in this story I was surprised when it ended. I can’t wait to read the next book of this series and look forward to seeing what becomes of Piper and which brother she ends up with…
I would highly recommend this book!

Indebted to the Vampires (The House of Durand Book 1) by Erin Bedford
4 Stars

Piper is in desperate need of a job. When the temp agency sends her on this one, she’s not too happy to be a maid but takes it anyway. The live in position will help her stop living in her car. Cleaning house for a bunch of stuck up rich folk can’t be that bad, right? Stepping into the mansion was like stepping back in time. A butler even greeted her upon arrival. Unfortunately her clumsiness got the better of her and a Qing Dynasty vase became her victim. Piper becomes indebted to not one but five drop dead gorgeous brothers who will do anything to guard their secrets.

The thing that I liked the best about this book is that it’s a slow burn reverse harem. Piper had multiple fantasies about each throughout the book but nothing really happened. The buildup of anticipation is escalating and book two should be fantastic. Piper is headstrong, stubborn and klutzy. She becomes an interesting challenge to the Durand brothers. Each brother is unique in character, I loved them all. My favourite is probably Antoine. When those two connect, it will be electric. I gobbled up the story and before I knew it, I was finished the book. It ends on a cliffhanger which sucks but now I’m anticipating book two. I need to find out what happens. This is the first book that I have read from this author and I enjoyed her writing. I will definitely be searching for more books from her.

Druid”s Brooch Series by Christy Nicholas is one of my favorite series. I recommend the entire series as the characters and storylines are engaging and adventurous. This book is no different. They are on the adventure with Fingin. This group goes through some twists and turns. Fingin is on an adventure to find his Grandmother. The problem is that his Grandmother may not exist in the world where he is looking for her. I will warn you that you may not put this book down once you start reading it.

TK Lawyer has done it again. Serenade is a paranormal love story that keeps you wondering what will happen next. This story is about Kingsley (a wolf) and Eva (a witch) who gave up finding their soulmate until they found each other. The problem is that wolves and witches do not mix well. Can Kingsley and Eva move beyond the barriers and have a relationship? Is there hope for Kingsley and Eva? I highly suggest this book and I cannot wait to see what TK Lawyer will come up with next.

The story Aberration (Aberration Series Book 1) by Naomi Valkyrie & Rebecca E. McEwen is an exciting, entertaining, and wonderful book to read. The story grabbed my interest from the beginning and didn’t let go until the final page. I loved reading about the character of Anyanka Truman. Her life changed when she found out she is an aberration. It changes, even more, when secrets, new information, and betrayal comes to light. What will happen next? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages. It is fast-paced, and it seems that something is happening all the time. There are times when emotions run high and there is danger. Many other characters interact with Anyanka and I enjoyed reading about them. Anyanka is a character that is smart and independent. She is someone that the others learn to trust. I found myself quickly running out of chapters to read and when I got to the end, I couldn’t help but wish for more. The story is interesting, intriguing, and fun to read. She feels that she needs to be someone different for others, but she doesn’t know how to be Abigail when alone. She is starting college and really trying to find her true self. Gavin is starting his journey. He is starting his journey to find himself. The plot is a simple story when you get down to it, but Abigail and Gavin sure makes the pages fly by. My rating: 5 of 5 stars

P.A.W.S. (The P.A.W.S. Saga Book 1) by Debbie Manber Kupfer. A different kind a shifter story, I was really intrigued at the start of the book you meet Celia. Celia and family are hiding in the back room of there house in Vienna, when the Gestapo Soldiers came, Celia watched as her family was herded out of the door. The story then jumps to Miriam’s (Miri) point of view. The story of Miri is a sad tale to start, her mother gave her to her Omama (Celia) to raise up till she was ten when tragically Celia dies but leaves Miri a parting gift, a gift Miri doesn’t realise will help her later in life. I don’t want to give too much away but I absolutely loved this story. Debbie created multiple plots throughout this story that all tie together in the end. Such a good read would highly recommend.
