This was one of those reads that get you into the mood of “ silly season” there’s magic , there’s romance , there’s learning the true meaning of friendships and relationships 🥰
Will I read again? For sure ! Is it something I’d recommend? Oh yes ! It really was a fun , feel good read 🥰📚
Wolfbane is a paranormal romance novel and the first book in the Wolfbane series. I have not read anything by this author before and was unsure what I was going to get. Even though the book is 500 pages the plot itself is fast paced and the story flows well. With true fated mates, werewolf lore, conservative religious beliefs, dupery and second chances this book has it all. There is also betrayal, lies, secrets, drama, angst, hurt, pain, hope, love and some violence. Wolfbane is a story of a Love Square or Love Rectangle involving four people. Pitting friends against each other. What a twisted tale Celia has given us. I got to say my heart and my head are all over the place with this one. Frustrated beyond belief with some of the characters and I wanted to slap the heck out of them or bodily harm. It didn’t grip me like I hoped it would and I think that is because of some of the characters. Blake the future alpha had it all, but it was taken from him. Then he meets her, and things become quite a mess. I really liked him as a character and my heart went out to him. Jasmine is the rule follower but when the future alpha catches her attention then all bets could be off. Or are they? Feelings for Blake, betrayed by her mate and best friend she doesn’t know what to do. Luke loves his mate’s best friend and is being led around by his d*ck. The indecisive nitwit. I wanted to knock some sense into him. Lucy is a selfish duplicitous b*atch! She knew what happens when you meet your mate, but she is a sh*tty person, stamps her foot like a two-year-old and has a temper tantrum. Then she does the unthinkable. I absolutely hated her. I am surprised I didn’t break my tablet in frustration. I guess these intense feelings just go to show how well written Celia made them. The story is told through multiple POV which is my favourite way of storytelling and great because you get to know who the characters are. The story flowed well until the ending where it felt a little rushed and abrupt in its ending. I will be reading the next because I have to know how it all turns out in the end. Just because this is how I felt reading this book does not mean that everyone feels the same so give it a go and make your own decisions.

I really enjoyed reading Kathryn’s Tequila Midnight and was excited to see what The Podcast Chronicles held. What I found was a great read. This fast-paced women’s fiction story finds one woman who is determined to save her community from those who want to bring about unwanted change. The characters are well developed and fully realised making them easily relatable. You will like some and others not so much but either way they are well written. Sue is at a stage in her life where she doesn’t have to focus on family. Feeling a bit adrift she pours her heart and soul into her beloved town to stop developers trying to rip it apart. She decides to take the bull by the horns and show others that she means business. Kathryn has cleverly woven twisty threads together to give us a tale that I was so invested in and wanted to lend a helping hand to the MC. She has added elements that make it hard to put down with challenges, greed, drama, family and frustration just to name a few. Her writing skills kept the pages turning because I had to know what was going to happen next. If you like a tale with a bit of humour, backbone, grit and determination then this is a book for you. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and eagerly look forward to reading more from this author.
I lived with monsters under the bed when I was younger and would have loved a book like this to see things differently. Lois has taken and old tale and put her spin on it and it is one that little ones should read to put their minds at ease. Lois Wickstrom has given her readers another unique story and the wonderful bright and colourful illustrations by Nicolas Milano bring it to life. My Big Red Monster is aimed for children ages 4-8 and will delight in the story. Brothers that scoff at the idea of a monster under the bed beware it may just be true. A fun addition to Lois’s Giants and Monsters series.

Safe Harbor is the fifth book in the Logan McKenna Series) and is a Suspense/Mystery/Crime that will pull you in from the beginning and have you turning the pages till the end. I have truly enjoyed this series even though I started out of order I had no issues connecting with the story or the characters. This one is my favorite yet but I am looking forward to the rest of this series. Logan finds herself in the middle of two murders. The twists and turns had me on the edge trying to figure out what was going to happen next. When things take a wild turn can they make it to safe harbor? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next.

Master Campania is the seventh explosive book in the EPIC Masters of the Consulate series by Sylvia. It is an age-gap enemies to lovers’ trope. Hands down the dark and delicious Masters of the Consulate is one of my all-time favourite series. I was so excited to see another book out. It’s easy to become immersed in Sylvia’s magical world of fated mates where old-world the alpha vampire mafia reside. I cannot get enough of these men in this dark paranormal romance tales. Make sure you read them all in order because there is so much that you will be missing out on. I feel like I keep repeating myself in my reviews of this series but there are only so many ways you can keep saying just how amazing this series is. I was once again instantly lost in the story. Lost to this harsh yet beautiful world. Sylvia’s characterisation is done very well, and world building is vividly imagined through her wonderful narrative. The story is fast paced, intense, full of suspense and steaming hot. Master Sardinia is dangerous; he is darkness, he is all power, he is pure arrogance and sizzling sex appeal, and he fights for what is his. What a man!
As always, I look forward to more from this bestselling author. You go girl.

I’m a huge fan of this author and her Notebook Mysteries Series so I knew without a doubt I’d love this one as well. Her attention to detail, her vivid descriptions and wonderful characters make the story come to life. I get lost in time and can vividly picture everything she is describing. This time we follow along with Mark Sutherland who has landed the job of a lifetime as he Adventures to the Yukons to report on the Gold rush. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Its full of mystery and suspense that you don’t want to miss. I’m eagerly looking forward to reading more from this Author.

The McIntire County Series is an amazing book series that continues from the first book to the fourth book, with each book building upon the characters who each have a new case to solve. I love a good suspenseful story, and this one did not disappoint me in any way at all. I loved that we finally read about the Sheriff, Shane Hamilton, and understand why he acts the way he does throughout this series. You get this feeling that something is weighing on his mind and body, but it never even hints at what could possibly be on his mind. I loved that Liza Bartholomew gets to rejoin the story line, not only as an FBI agent, but also as a love interest for Shane, who has kept his heart locked up ever since the horrible tragedy that struck his life many years prior. What an amazing read this was, it holds you captivated throughout the entire story, with never a dull moment. You see so many unexpected twists and turns and fear for the safety of your favorite characters. Winter Austin is one of my favorite authors for writing thrilling suspense series, I even got my teenage son hooked on her books. I cannot wait to see what else she has available to read, as well as looking forward to more books yet to come. You will not want to miss reading this hit book series. @Brandy Rymer 10/2023

What a fun and captivating romantic fantasy! I absolutely loved Cahki and found her spirit to be entrancing and motivational! Her quips and relationship with the prince was as enjoyable as it was frustrating ( in the best way) to see! It had me completely in my emotions! Ms. Reis’s world building was so clear and vivid it was so easy for me to picture every detail! I will definitely be looking for more books by this author in the future! Especially the prequel coming out for this book that I am so excited to get my hands on, House of Blood and Pirates!

Saint Con by Seelie Kay is an engrossing mystery- a bit of a romantic suspense intermingled with tension, danger, chemistry, intrigue, angst, emotion, humour, banter, and dramatic developments. It is a short story, which makes for a very quick and easy read. I’m not sure what I was really expecting from this, as Ms. Kay loves to mix things up and always manages to surprise me- in a good way. After the first couple of chapters I thought I was in for a bit of a romcom- but then things took an unexpected turn where Ms. Kay twisted things up a bit and added a mystery/suspense angle too. She turned what I thought would be a simple, albeit enjoyable romcom, into quite a clever, complex, multi-faceted storyline- packing a lot into a small package. In true Seelie Kay fashion, it is immersive and impactful! I really enjoyed this clever suspense. But it was the characters who stole the show for me. I really loved the characters, I enjoyed their chemistry, personalities, funny banter, quips, and antics. It made them more realistic and quite endearing. Well worth the read! Happy Reading…

Merry Christmas, Montana is the third (and final?) book in The Millers of Marietta series by Elsa Winckler. It is a Christmas romance with a small-town setting, emotion, family, chemistry, spice, a special Christmas wish, heartwarming/feelgood scenes, and finding love unexpectedly. Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone if you want. Each instalment in the series focuses on one of the Miller siblings who have moved to small town Marietta for the new beginnings that offers. This time we get Mitch Millers story and get a front row seat to fate bringing him his perfect match in the form of single mother, Riley O’Sullivan- although, they might not realise that they are meant to be, at the time. This is another Miller-O’Sullivan match that has proven to be a winning recipe in the previous two books. The characters are wonderful, fully developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks and flaws- but who are also quite endearing. The characters continue to develop and grow over the course of the story too, so who they ‘are’ at the beginning of the book evolves as the story unfolds. The story itself maybe a little on the cliché side- but one I was happy to let charm me with all the sweet, heartfelt, and romantic developments. Ms. Winckler kept things from getting too ‘cheesy’ by sprinkling in enough drama and emotion to keep things interesting. Add in a cute little boy with a special Christmas wish- and the story takes a charming, and endearing turn. Happy Reading…

This story is definitely a conglomeration of multiple fairy tales, but they all have a way of tying together. It starts as a Rumplestilskin-esque story, following the tale of a servant who basically gets held hostage by the king. It has really good flow, and can be knocked out in an hour or two if you’re a faster reader.

The beginning does bring you into the story with a tale and there is always a moral to the story. The characters are wonderful and unique. I like how there are several fairy tales in one book. As you’re reading this novel, you will seem like you’re living in that time period.

Zibs for Sale is part of the I am an Alien series, but it can be read without reading them all. The story focuses on Shirl and her alien friend Eee-ahh. I read this with my 7 year old son, taking turns reading the pages. It is good for that age group. We did not really see it as a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, but looking back and trying to see it from that perspective, I guess I can see it. Eee-ahh tells Shirl how amazing Zibs are (they seem kind of like cupcakes) and they go to find them from the best bakery in the galaxy. Shirl takes one to taste, essentially stealing it, and then is put to work by the baker to repay her debt. Shirl tries to pay human money, but the baker doesn’t want it. He goes above and beyond with his tasks, but then the book has a surprise happy ending. Overall we enjoyed the book, and it was our favorite in the series. I love the creativity of the author and the colorful illustrations. Good for young elementary or preschool age kiddos.

Safe Harbor is Book 5 in the Logan McKenna series, but it can be enjoyed as a stand alone book. The characters overlap, and there are references to past events, but it isn’t lacking. The information is provided with enough detail that a reader would do just fine without having read those stories. I have read some of the series, but not all books and not even in order. Logan is always finding herself in the middle of suspenseful and dangerous situations. This book was one of my favorites I have read in the series, it is full of suspense and doesn’t all come together until the end. While we kind of know where the story is headed, there are still twists and turns along the way. Logan is on vacation with her family, and is soon a suspected murderer. It is all a lot of wrong place at the wrong time, all around, but it works. I recommend this to readers who enjoy suspense mysteries, without the spooky psychological thrill. I didn’t want to put the book down, but wasn’t terrified to finish either. The title was NOT what I expected Safe Harbor to be referring to, but again, it works.

I have read a couple of books from ‘The Talisman Series’ so naturally when I found out there was a prequel, I could not wait to read it. In the first book of the series, you are introduced to the Sheridan brothers. Since Riley was already mated, you didn’t hear much about him or his love. This book focuses on him.
Riley and Lynnette meet at a party and are instantly attracted to each other, luck would have it that they are each other’s fated mates. Being the first Sheridan brother mated, Morgan wants to stop the bonding process and sends her forces to take Riley. It is up to Lynnette to save him but she doesn’t even know what her talisman powers are yet.
I really enjoyed reading about the youngest brother but honestly he was not what I expected. He was very cocky and full of himself. Nothing like his brothers. I wasn’t a big fan of his attitude. I was a fan of Lynnette though. She had a good head on her shoulders and calmed Riley down quite nicely. She was a caring, smart, sweet girl with some fire within her. They seem to be the perfect couple. This book is a lot shorter than the other books and doesn’t have a lot of Celtic lore but it is a great introduction to the series.

This was an interesting little novella to read. We meet TJ, aka Sarge, as a young boy who’s delivering packages to put food on his table. A kindhearted person takes him under his wing and sets him on a successful path for life. This story is about that path his life took, which is much better than things were looking. Sarge is able to lead a successful group of people in black ops missions dealing with all sorts of things, including UFOs.
I appreciate how this was a “short and sweet” story and didn’t drag out a lot of details where they weren’t necessary. This book was just enough and I’d recommend it!

I love historical Romance, but I think this may be my first Western. I truly didn’t know how I was going to feel about this, and honestly starting the book, I had my doubts. As I began the book, it took me quite a while, longer than I like to get into the book, but let me just say, once I got into this book I was hooked. Not only was I hooked I was emotionally invested and boy did this take me on a full rollercoaster ride of emotions. I truly never thought I would have loved this book as much as I did. The only reason why I gave this 4 stars was the slower build up, bus I am so glad I stuck with it.

Liar, Liar (The McIntire County Series Book 4) by Winter Austin. I have loved this series so much and I loved this book the most! It’s the story of Sheriff Shane Hamilton who has just won another election. The election was very hard and he has taken off for a quite weekend away. While he’s away his phone begins to blow up because a body has been found. Now his weekend away is gone. FBI agent Liz Bartholomew has come back to Eider, Iowa not of her own free will but because of a case. The suspect she is after has last been spotted there. She is not looking forward to running into the Sheriff but knows its inevitable. They have a history even though it didn’t end up pretty. When her case goes wonky she has to work with Shane and even though those old feelings come back she is trying to ignore them. Shane is not in the market for a relationship either but can’t help his feelings when he starts working with Liz again. Such a good mystery/romance!

Zibs for Sale:(I am an Alien) by Lois Wickstrom. Its not secret that this author is my favorite children’s author. I loved this book just as much as I’ve loved all the others. In this tale we meet Shirl and Eee-aah again and go on another fun adventure with them. When Shirl wants to introduce Eee-aah to her favorite snack Zibs they set out to find them. When they do find them Shirl doesn’t have any money so she steals them. When she is caught she has to work to pay off her fine. There are always lessons in these great books and this one has a STEM lesson involved. Such a fun, educational book for kids age 4-8. Would make a great gift!

While looking for the girl, Deputy Murdoch finds herself in front the suspect (the father of the missing child). The problem is that he is dead but he is not alone. There enters Xavier, a former marine who has a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury), finds himself in some unwanted attention for the death of the missing girl’s father. However, he doesn’t remember any thing that happened before, during or after because he blacked out. It’s a lot of twist and turns in this one, but Winter Austin really has a knack for bringing all the twists and turns into an amazing story. I would like to point out, that I am reading these book out of order, I don’t recommend that you do. I should have started with book one and worked my way down but I will finish this series.

There are dead bodies, fires, and a some drama from the police department. I promise you that this book is one of the many that you will not be able to put down.

Liar, Liar is book four in the McIntire County series and is a standalone story that is easy to follow without reading the previous three. I DO still recommend reading them in order if you can, for some back story and character development that (for me) makes the story so much better. This time around, we are focusing on Sheriff Shane Hamilton. After quite the year, he just wants some down time and quiet time to himself to reflect on all that has come to pass. That wish comes to an abrupt halt when his phone starts ringing nonstop and a body is found. FBI Liza Bartholomew gets word of the murder and is pulled back to Eider, Iowa…a place she thought she would never have to return to. Now the suspect she is chasing may know she is on the trail and her entire cover could be blown. It doesnt take long for the two to realize their cases are connected, and are forced to work together to find the killer before anyone else is found dead. A reluctant partnership becomes a bit more friendly, and a romance starts to bud. Liar Liar is a great addition to an already amazing storyline, and the plots keep thickening and twisting with each book. These are books you will want to read in one sitting, but be aware that not all the answers are always given! The not-so-clean endings can be frustrating but keeps you coming back for the next one.

From the moment I read the description for this book, I knew I wanted to read it. I was intrigued and wanted to find out what happened to the main character. Once I started reading, the book was just as intriguing. It is one of those books that is action packed, fast paced and exciting. I loved seeing how everything developed and I really enjoyed the connection between the two main characters. This is one of those authors that really knows how to write a great story. Each one I have read is engaged and well written. I become invested in them all. This book is just as good as I have come to expect and I would certainly recommend it.

I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately and this was the perfect book for this time of the year to pull me out of it. So much to this book that will keep you guessing and turning the pages. F/F romance giving you a look into dark perception of “love.” Can’t wait to read more by this talented author.
