The Places we Call Home is a wonderfully illustrated children book. It is easy to read and rhymes and flows. It is a good reminder that home can look very different to each person. This book would be good for our youngest readers (preschool). The illustrations are bright and colorful and assist the story. I like that the author included animals homes as well.

“Corpse Pixie” brings the reader into a world full of secrets, deceit, and supernatural beings. Our male, main character, Rene is torn apart by his sisters murder. He self medicated to his own detriment, obsessively and desperately seeking answers about his sister’s death. Our female, main character has her own obsession and motives, and the two of them become enmeshed in each other’s worlds.
If you enjoy a short and easy read, full of magic and the supernatural, this would be a great book for you. The author jumps into the story pretty quickly, adding new information with each chapter.

There are three books to read in this series. The characters were developed quite well and each I thought were as strong as each other, but that is my opinion. If you like reading dark stories, then you need to grab this collection. I thought the author has a great knack of story building which made the books quite enjoyable to read. You need to read this series in order to get the background information.
Magic Price Book 1 I found this book to be long read but well worth it, this story has twist and turns that enhance the book. We meet Ian Troy who is a bounty hunter, who has decided to have himself living in self exile. He is living a life that is filled with ghosts from his past, while in his self-imposed exile he is also trying to forget his mistakes. However, his old enemies will not forget, nor will they let him forget. What Ian Troy needs to do is find new alliances, as his past returns to him and returning also brings new threats to him.
Magic Scars Book 2 The second book in this series I found was a little darker than book one but still an enjoyable read and I am sure you will enjoy the journey through this series. Ok where to start with this one. So, we are now two years after then end of book one we find Ian Troy has been imprisoned by King Draken and found himself to have been drugged in order to supress his magic. Ian Troy discovers the world he is returning to is just as bad off as he is. He also has an addiction to magic which he knows is a problem. He feels the responsibility he is carrying is a burden especially since he struggles to get his own life back together.
Magic Borne Book 3 As with books one and two this is another long read but is well worth the effort to end this series. This book has also been written well which makes it another enjoyable read. This book is not different to the other two you will find some action and suspense. Anyway, here we are at the end of Ian Troys journey and what a journey it has been. Along his way Ian Troy made a couple of discoveries which has now opened his way of thinking what he needs to be doing to free the people that are in the realm. So here he is fighting again with others helping him. He knows in order to free the people he must destroy the Crown of Stones. The question is will he and the people who are helping him fight be able to achieve this?

This was such a great little story. Immediately sucking you in from the first page and holding that attention until the end. I was wanting more from Lecia and Cade by the end.
Cade and Lecia are in Greece as part of the band. However trouble is brewing and following them. Cade’s brother Vincent is there helping stop some incidents from happening. However the biggest one of them all is on the horizon.
Can Cade and Lecia come out unscathed? Will they figure out who is behind all the trouble being caused? Pick up this book and find out!

This novella is packed with love, drama, deceit, and suspense. Cade and Lecia Moore are in Greece to enjoy each other in the down time between Cade’s concerts. As a world renowned saxophone player, Cade was invited to come play multiple shows around Greece leading up to the Olympics. Will their vacation be an idyllic getaway or nightmare?
For such a short novel, it’s packed with a lot of details. I found that I didn’t miss anything from not having read the other books in the series. It was a page turner and I was quickly able to finish it. None of the story felt like it was missing, which is sometimes hard to accomplish in novellas.

This book is set immediately after the first book in the series called ‘The Secret Humankind’. It references a lot from this book and will need to be read to be fully caught up to what’s going on in this book.
After the death of Jake, Julia finds out she can tap into the same energy the Secret Humankind does making so that she heals at a fast pace. This shouldn’t be possible since she is only a human. The council is not happy about this and demands a meeting with her. The council is divided. While some think she should be taken out immediately, others think she should be given a chance. They decide to let Julia be under her boss’ care who is one of the secret humankind. She is given a few stipulations, one of them being she is not to willingly tap into the energy. Julia is an unknown entity to them and they want to find out more about her. The decision doesn’t stop unsanctioned murder attempts. First she has a stalker and now she has to fear for her life. It is never a dull moment.
On top of all that, they still are trying to figure out what and who Jake’s master was. Julia will once again have to put herself in danger to solve the mystery.
I absolutely love Julia. She started out as a pessimistic person with no self worth, to a strong and selfless person forming a life with strong relationships. She never thought she would have friends but here she is with multiple. The author has done an amazing job bringing the characters to life. I also love the whole concept of how the Secret Humankind is made. It is totally unique. Can’t wait to see what the author has up their sleeve next!

A cute little story that made me smile. Luca Magoo was imagining what it would be like to eat a drop of glue and all the things that might happen if it starts seeping through your pores.
Enjoyed reading this and I am sure most of us are guilty of eating glue at some point in our youth. I am sure your littles will enjoy this book.
This book is a part of the Buddy the Corgi series, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone. This book gives us the story of Buddy’s early life on the farm he was born on. We get to meet many of the different animals that Buddy lived with before being adopted by his forever family. The illustrations can almost make you wish to spend time on a farm…almost. With adorable pictures at the end of the book of the real life Buddy, what’s not to love? I would recommend this book to any parent or teacher of young children, or even children’s librarian.

What a cute and useful book. Baking with children is the best. But making dog treats is so much more to discover. The book not only talks about baking, it also touches on what food we can feed our furbabies. This author opens so many doors with this story. Baking, science, math and working together to name a few. The story is easy to follow and the recipes at the end sound so yummy for our dogs. Children will love baking for their dogs as well as their friends’ dogs. I love this book and my grandkids can’t wait to try more of the recipes found at the end of this book. What a great story!

This book is an adorable way to teach kids that not everything is instant gratification. The story introduces you to Buddy, a blue Corgi and explains his adoption story. This book is great for all kids, but I could definitely see it being especially meaningful to a child just getting their first pet or a child who is adopted at an age that they are old enough to understand its meaning. Buddy is an adorable puppy and the only blue Corgi in his whole litter. Once he’s adopted, he has two cat siblings and a whole family that loves him. I would recommend this for any elementary age child, or younger, though even as an adult, I enjoyed it myself. The illustrations are adorable, and the back even includes pictures of the real Buddy for a bonus. This book is part of the Buddy the Corgi series, but can absolutely be written as a stand-alone.

Driving into the Night by Amanda Kay is a short read. This book is a great fantasy and is an original tale about 2 guys. One is a hunter and the other is a demon angel that needs to be killed. I love how the romance doesn’t overlap the story but also ties into it. I love how Amanda Kay wrote the characters and how likable they are. Off the bat, you can tell who the villain is. Made to Love Her by Michele Sims is my first read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. The story was a very quick read, but no less an adventure carved out of romance and suspense. Leica and Cade are a dream couple. Married with children and growing evermore in love as time goes on. But when they find themselves in the middle of a dark scheme, trust and loyalty are put to the test. The characters were very well developed and it was easy to fall in love with the relationship between the main characters. If you are looking for a quick read that will squeeze your heart and also keep you on edge, I highly recommend. I read this with no problem as a standalone!

Brooke May has become an author that I automatically add to my list whenever she comes out with a new book! I absolutely loves She’s My Rhinestone Cowgirl! Trinity and Shooter’s story is one for the ages! This is the seventh book in the series, but don’t worry…you can read this as a standalone (I did) but trust me…you will be going back to pick up the rest of the series and binging them as well. Trinity and Shooter dated early on in high school, but Trinity broke Shooter’s heart to chase her dreams. Now, Trinity has fulfilled her dream of being a rodeo queen and is almost done with that life. Shooter hasn’t quite met his life goals and is now back in his hometown as the newest deputy sheriff. Can they reconnect or is the heartbreak for both of them still too raw and real? This is a contemporary, second-chance romance that will have your heartstrings in a twist (and maybe your panties;)). The chemistry between Trinity and Shooter is undeniable and so steamy you can feel it coming off the pages. Josh Blevins has left college to return home with his dog Nimrod. He works as a freelance writer and moves into his new home. Josh soon discovers that there is something very wrong in Midnight Falls. Now Josh has to decide whether to run away or fight. Midnight Falls was a very chilling and engaging story. I enjoyed the author’s style of writing. His descriptive language helps engulf you in the atmosphere. Mr. Evans does a great job of creating a dark background reminiscent of a horror movie. There was a nice variety of characters and I enjoyed Josh’s relationship with all of them. This is a great book for those who enjoy old-school horror.

I enjoyed the book; to be honest at first, I felt there were too many characters, and up until a quarter way through the book each character kind of felt like a diary entry. I am glad to say that the writing changed and no longer felt like quick moments from the day. I really liked James, I couldn’t believe how soon his wife and children were taken from him and it upset me that he honestly didn’t even do anything yet. Which leads you to Dave, the character you love to hate. Really, I was just hoping for someone to take him out, I wanted him to leave James alone. I recommend the book to all crime reader lovers.

This is a interesting read from the Moore family Saga series. This book can be read as a standalone, however I feel you will have a better grasp on the characters if the books are read in order. This is a quick read but it is filled with plenty of action, suspense, danger, and of course romance. For me personally I felt it was a little short and too much was crammed in which meant I found the book a little confusing as it jumped from one situation to the next without much context. That been said it was still an enjoyable read. I just wish it was longer. The relationship between Cade and Lecia Moore is beautiful and their love for each other really stands out. When they find themselves placed in a dangerous situation they don’t know who they can trust. Who is trying to harm them and why? And will they succeed in destroying this perfect couple?

Luca Magoo, Don’t Eat the Glue by Megan Delgado is a fun children’s story, with some valuable life lessons on offer. The illustrations really brought the whole story to life, spurring the imagination with their cute, colourful, and engaging scenes. Luca Magoo loves being creative, so when art class rolls around he is excited for a chance to let loose his artistic flair – but what happens when he is tempted to taste the sticky glue? This fun story takes us through all the ‘possible’ consequences’ and what Luca imagines might happen. This teaches children about curiosity, temptation, creativity, self-control, classroom etiquette, following rules for safety, and making sensible choices. This was a great little read, my grandson loved reading this with me and caught on very quickly that Luca was not meant to eat the glue lol. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Delgado does next, Happy Reading…
Forever to Fall is the 5th book in the Buckeye Falls Series by Libby Kay. It follows Mallory and Beckett as they find each other again after many years. Childhood sweethearts, Mallory and Beckett have never found some one else but the timing hasn’t been right to find each other either. After 15 years it seems that it may be time to move on but Buckeye Falls has other plans for this couple. Following the tradition of the series, this book is a sweet, clean romance reminiscent of a Hallmark movie. Best read in order – Enjoy!

Falling for a Star in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager is the second book in the Stars in the City Series. This one follows struggling actress Paige who had had a miserable week – breakup with her boyfriend, acting job on hold, and an internship in a career she isn’t happy in. Down in the dumps, Paige runs into Viktor a hot hockey player with an intense gaze. As she navigates this challenging week and emotions start to form, Paige worries that the differences between her and Viktor are insurmountable. This book is a lovely romance that highlights the 360s life throws at us. The series could probably be read as stand‐alones but characters make reappearances so I’d suggest reading in order. Enjoy!

G is for Gossamer by Miss Whitaker labels itself as a sophisticated and smart alphabet book. The words used are indeed larger than your average ABC book. They are also accompanied by detailed and beautiful images. The end has a glossary so parents can explain the words to those curious Littles. Read this with your kids but, maybe, not before bed – unless you want to stay up late with questions like I accidentally did!
