Handle With Care (Chase Care Book 1)Handle With Care by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dr. Hunter Montgomery and Dr. Selma Bryant have a history and now maybe a second chance. Dr. Montgomery was recently promoted at the hospital, a hospital Dr. Bryant walks into. As the two grow closer and begin to rekindle their relationship Selma volunteers for Doctors without Borders, traveling to Africa where a virus runs out of control. Hunter and other members of his medical staff must now do all they can to treat as well as save as many as they possibly can. Will his team be able to help before it’s too late? Will Hunter and Selma get their happily ever after this time?

This is the first book by Dunn I have read. I truly enjoyed the writing style, the complexity of the stories, and how the characters have dimensions. I look forward to the next book in the Chase Care Series.

The author does a great job at developing a storyline with characters who are easy to root for. I was able to imagine watching the scenes play out before me as if it were actually on tv. The romance and twists along the way made this book a quick read. The author knows how to keep the reader entertained and intrigued.

After She Became a LadyAfter She Became a Lady by Wareeze Woodson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a great historical romance story! Typically books written in the old english language can be hard to follow sometimes but this one isn’t so over bearing with it.

Laurel convinces her aunt to let her marry Lord Laningham. They wed quickly and head to his estate. Where his twin is quickly against and does nothing to hide it. Laurel is left alone while her husband is away at war and let to defend herself against his sister and her antics.

Those early years of marriage are hard, but Laurel’s is made even harder and with every step forward you see Rhonda kicking her two steps back. The biggest question is will Laurel and Robert be able to survive and will their marriage last?

This book was a quick read but I wish there was more. Some of the story line felt a little empty, like it was missing some of the story. But you imagine yourself on the estate with Laurel as she is going through taking over the house.

Now, this is how you write a prequel. This immediately put me in a chokehold and I need to complete this series. The Spice was next level. The best I have read in a long time if not ever!! I enjoyed the chemistry between these two that seemed so genuine but also the no-name aspect brought a fun mystery side to it and I loved that as well. My jaw was on the floor when I finished this and I immediately pre-ordered the next book. I need more of this ASAP. If you are thinking of reading this, do it. You won’t regret it.

I really enjoyed this book, well written fantasy novella. It is a prequel to her new series Blood of the Fae. It’s an easy read with a fantastic writing style. Set in historical Victorian times. It’s very descriptive in world building and to get you set up for more to come.

What a great book!! I initially was a little nervous reading during the prologue if this was going to be a book I woukd enjoy. But I am so glad I kept going, I was pulled in almost immediately in the forst chapter. Barb did a great job developing her characters and the dynamics between the demons and angels made for an exciting read.

Nite Fire: Exit Strategy Audiobook by C.L. Schneider – Review by Callie Luna

Nite Fire: Exit Strategy is an incredible story! This is the first book that I have read/ listened to by C. L. Schneider. From the first word, I was propelled into an incredible action scene and an apocalypse to boot. The action and suspense are present throughout the book. I did not want to stop listening for a minute!

The audiobook quality and the pacing are amazing. Dahlia’s voice is what I expected and her personality shines through. Some of the other male characters’ voices can be a little annoying but overall I thought the performance was great. During some of the intense scenes, the narrator slows down to really provide the needed impact.

Even though there were previous books that I have not read I was able to understand the story and fell in love the with characters. Dahlia is a strong female character lead. The authors’ descriptions of the places and the creatures gave me clear visuals of the world. I love how Dahlias’ shifting is described. I cannot wait to read/ listen to the rest of the series!

Angels and Demons and Humans, Oh My!
Sully is a demon hunter. He walks into a bar and meets Mick, and that is the beginning of the tumult. While this is not normally the type of book I would read, I was not disappointed. This book had a nice flow and kept me coming back for more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Prequel) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Jenni Bishop

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Night Hawke is the prequel and the start to The Hawke Family Second Generation Series. I was so excited to see where Gwyn had taken us. It isn’t necessary to read the first generation The Hawke Family Series. It is one of my favourite series and let me tell you that you should start at the beginning. You will definitely not be disappointed even though it is a very, very short read. Just a teasing taste of what’s to come.
Gwyn has never let me down and always produces page turners and Night Hawke is just as amazing as the others. It is intricately woven and are very well plotted out. The characters are well developed and hard not to fall in love with. The story is told in different POV’s letting you have more of an insight into these complex people.
This Mafia romance tale has plenty to offer any reader, with suspense and tension, oozing chemistry and passion, action, adventure and much, much more.
He’s a billionaire heir attorney and she is running from her life. Just one sexy and passion filled night. Or is it?
No spoilers here you need to grab a copy and find out what happens for yourself because it is that good.
Now I just have to wait anxiously for the next instalment.

The Taste of Light (The Winemakers, #2)The Taste of Light by Giovanna Siniscalchi
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I couldn’t ask for more in a romance book than including two of my favorite things. This book is set in my most favorite place to go to on holiday and also it’s a romance I really couldn’t ask for anything else. To make it even more it is a historical romance which is one of my top favorite genres. I like how the author is able to bring the back story to add to the present of the characters. I was really drawn into the drama of the book and hooked. I really didn’t want to put it down. The author is able to bring the characters to life and draw the reader into the adventure. I really felt as though I was right there in the midst of the drama and adventure as it unfolds. The author draws out the story and grabs you and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Boss's Vendetta (Sicilian Gods Book 1)Boss’s Vendetta by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a good dark, mysterious, crime and passion filled story!

Adrianna had come to work for the Larussio family under seemingly false pretenses. Keeping secrets of her own until a horrific incident occurred that required her to be closer than ever to the family.

Mafia secrets come out and the path of Salvatore changed the minute he met Adrianna. When her own secrets come out he is faced with choices, on top of the decisions he’s making for the family already.

This book did not disappoint in the anticipation of what was going to happen next. A few twists and that was just what was needed to keep you guessing! I’ve read a few other books by this author and yet again not a disappointment in this story.

Son of Asmodeus by Barb Jones – Review by Jade Thomson

Son of AsmodeusSon of Asmodeus by Barb Jones

I’m a pretty basic person when I choose books to read- and often solely choose them on the title. This series seemed more serious for me when i chose it and phew- I was wrong. I’m often reminded by good stories and novels why I shouldn’t choose them solely on a title or cover. (I usually choose books with the word mate or love or something equally romantic and gushy.) This was a juicy book- with my favorite supernatural elements: demons, angels, and demon hunters? Oh my! The characters were delicious and complex and just wonderful to read about. There was plenty of action to keep me interested and engaged- once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down! I’m so excited for future developments, not only in the storyline, but with the characters as well! I’m eager for the next in the series.

Married Blind: A Marriage of Convenience Hollywood Romance (Kings of Screen, 2)Married Blind: A Marriage of Convenience Hollywood Romance by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was amazing and hard to put down. The character development and constant changes made it a wonderful read.

This book follows the story of Finn and Abi. Meeting your future husband at the altar is definitely not how most little girls imagine their wedding. Especially when he seems to not be all that invested in the process. Abi is a girl just trying to keep her family first and herself last. When she gets pushed by her family to try a ridiculously seeming process that is a little wild, she just could not turn that down.

Finn is famous and with a reputation for leaving a trail of broken hearts and underwear. What happens when he needs to switch up his image? Finn never imagined getting married and now he is doing it to reform his image.

What happens when the producers find him the perfect woman? Will she be able to change him and steal his heart? Can two people from different worlds play nice? Read to find out.

Greek mythology retelling that leads into epic twists and turns. A good continuation of the first two books and a journey for a third relic to regain the Olympian favor in a twist to rewrite history. Taking place in Ancient Greece, the story leads through familiar characters with a brand new twist designed to captivate at every turn.

Writing as sharp and calculated as steel, Cavallaro wins again with this final installment. A satisfying end with a bittersweet feel hits hard. Very good read.

Freedom Rings (The Circle Book 3) by Brenda Hardwick – Review by Jennifer Ramos

Freedom Rings: Book Three of The CircleFreedom Rings: Book Three of The Circle by Brenda Hardwick
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This last book in the Circle Book series, Freedom Rings, tells of the continuation of the story from the attempted murders of the Elders, a band of followers, the Circle, led by Soraya so they are ready to defend themselves when the time comes. At the same time, Soraya discovers and strengthens her special abilities while leading her team. Meanwhile, Shawn Kites, the CEO and owner of DNAgen Biolabs, is wanting to release a pill, Melacrit, across the world in order to eradicate races of colors. There is also the High Priestess Madeline who is pregnant with her son and the next heir, which is another plan of Kites to destroy along the way. Such a great story with testing of friendships, seeking a better future, discovering new abilities and much more.
Unfortunately, I did not read the first 2 books, which is helpful in fully understanding the gist of this story. The concept and storytelling is great. Hardwick focuses on the nature of races, which I think many people can benefit from. In moments of tragedy and change, regardless of our color, background, or origins, it is always best to band together and put aside our differences.

This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I was blown away at how quickly I read this book! I cannot wait to read the first book in this series, which thankfully these are ones that if you read them out of order, will not mess up what happens or the timeline in the series. In this book, these two people, Abi and Finn, are married at first sight on a reality tv show. The sparks between these two were palpable off of the page let alone between them. I could not read this book fast enough as they had a wonderful story that had conflict and that ultimately ended on a great note. I loved this romance book and cannot wait to read more of the books by this author and read the others in the series!

Revenge Never Rests starts right where Secrets Never Die ends. Tallie Brown is trying to figure out herself (and her relationship with Jackson) with the revelation of her birth family from the last book. The story follows her in gaining a better understanding of herself while trying to find out the mystery of who is taking previous military personnel. Once her father is taken she is determined to find out who is behind it. All the clues are there for you to determine who is the mastermind. All questions are answered at the conclusion of this book and the ending is highly satisfying. I highly recommend reading this series!

Revenge Never RestsRevenge Never Rests by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Picking up from where book 1 leaves off, Tallie has discovered why she had so many skills geared towards disappearing and staying hidden. She has also discovered a passion for seeking out lost individuals to bring them home. One night, she gets an Amber Alert and is immediately on the hunt. Her quest for the missing girl leads to some painful truths and lessons regarding her family.

This novel focuses on Tallie discovering that her past appears to be linked to a set of disappearances that have remained unsolved, and now someone she just found existed is on that same list.

Loads of twists and turns, yet again from this author. Very well thought out plot, presented in an incredible way. Great characters and heart. Lots of mystery and suspense and some romance.
