I have really enjoyed reading the Notebook Mysteries series. Kimberly Mullins is an amazing author who pays special attention to details while writing her mystery books. This allows the reader to delve into the process of trying to solve the mystery right along with our main characters. I love that each story in this series continues to build upon the characters’ backstories, making them more and more dynamic as we delve deeper into their pasts and examine their current relationships with one another. It is also amazing that any one of the books in this series can be read as a stand-alone, although I recommend you read all of the series from the beginning, which is something I am going to go back and do since I jumped into reading the middle of this series. The characters are so relatable, the settings are realistic, and the events that happen are believable, which is so important to a good mystery book. Some parts progressed a little slower at times, but it makes it worth the reader’s time to stick with it because details in a mystery read are so imperative to not miss. This is a great series to read if you love a good mystery that has you guessing throughout the book and then continues to be filled with unexpected twists and turns right to the very end. Forever To Fall by Libby Kay is like a roller coaster of emotions. It follows the storyline of two people who have been best friends ever since they were children. Beckett is in love with Mallory. Mallory’s brother Evan is getting married to CeCe and invites Mallory to the wedding. Beckett wants to marry Mallory but doesn’t know how to tell her. It is a cheesy romance where one loves the other but the other is focused on something else. I enjoyed reading the book from the prologue to the end. With 30 characters of excitement, Sad scenes, and Love, you will be reading till the end wondering if he will ever get to marry her. This is the second book of the London Detective Agency series. It focuses on James, who investigates a stalker case for the local bakery owner, Tessa. This book continues along with the first book in the series and contains all of our favorite characters and many new ones. I loved how James finally finds someone to keep him from being such a huge workaholic in the office and gets him to get out a little more from his daily habits of spending way too much time at work. What a great mystery that has you second-guessing who the stalker may be. It casts a light of suspicion at so many of your favorite characters but beware not all are as good as they seem. This book has a lot of exciting scenes in it and will make you anxious to read it from cover to cover, so grab a snack and get ready for a fun read. There are consequences to every wish we make in life. I love that this story takes us through Ian Troy’s life, showing us where he was before he found the Crown of Stones and how he feels about being a magic user. Then allows us to see the consequences his wish has caused to himself and everyone. Fast forward ten years later, when all Ian wants to do is forget that he’s ever been a magic user, causing his mind to remain in a fog with his drinking habits, when everything he had been running from has caught up to him. What will Ian do, will he go back to his old ways and use his magical abilities, or will he remain constantly on the run? Read this first book to find out…I am so excited to start book #2!

I am a huge fan of Brooke May’s books, especially The Predator series. I was so happy that this book is all about Noah’s story and that we get to know his character on a deeper level. This story starts immediately with a tragedy, which had me in tears from the first page. After reading the Prologue and learning of the tragic occurrence that befell Noah, you get to read all about our new characters including a widower, Bijou, and her daughter Claire, who run a community center in their small town in Georgia. After the tragedy Noah experienced, he moved his family to this small town in Georgia, where he went to heal. What a beautiful story that unfolds as Noah and Bijou meet and work together to improve the quality of the community center. I was so excited when some special characters made an appearance from the past Predator series, no spoilers on who, but know that the storylines do continue with some little hints as the storyline goes along following Noah’s new life. I love this side story about Beth and Scott, key characters in The Predator series. Beth wants to pursue her dreams of being a female boxer while working to overcome her feelings of inadequacy stemming from her past. Scott is a great manager and could help Beth to soar as he fills in for Beth’s best friend who is out during her pregnancy. The only problem is that Scott is a player, and Beth is the next girl in his sights, claiming to have changed his ways. Will the two be able to their clashing personalities long enough to work together to see Beth reach her goals, or will they fall prey to their attraction for one another?
Brooke May is such a great writer, who takes the time to create dynamic characters as well as placing them in realistic situations that deal with real-world issues. I love that the reader is entertained by the author’s use of witty characters, and we get to laugh, cry, and fight alongside them, cheering for them to overcome all obstacles to achieve their goals. Every book in The Predator series continues the storyline of our characters, allowing the reader to watch as the storyline continues to progress throughout the lives of these amazing characters. If you like reading a romance series with strong women, and men who fight for the love of their lives, then this is the series for you. Wheel of Evil is the third book in the Hani’s Daughter Mystery series, but the first of the series that I have read so far. It was very intriguing to read as the tale unfolds and the mystery thickens as to who is behind the scheme leading to several investors’ deaths. As our main character’s uncle gets involved, it leads her, along with her friends and family, to get to the bottom of what’s going on before her uncle meets his demise. This book was exciting to read and had a lot of thrilling events take place that keep you guessing what may befall our main character next. As the main character gets closer and closer to uncovering the answers that she is seeking, she finds herself in a very dangerous situation. Will her friends and family be able to help her, or will they find out what they need to know after it is too late? Brooke May does it again, with yet another fiery romance in The Predator series! We finally see the outcome of Katie and Chamberlain’s reunion and follow along with their rollercoaster of a relationship. I was so excited to find out if they could overcome their past misunderstandings and find out whether they could reconnect on a romantic level, or if Katie’s family ruined yet another part of her life. This book is the perfect mix of life lessons, romance, sports, and of course, a great storyline to keep you wanting more on every page that you turn. The romance is hot, the boxing matches are exciting, and the friendships are so heartwarming. Who says family is only those you are related to by blood, sometimes the best family is the ones that you get to choose yourself, and this story proves this. I love that we get to delve deeper into Beth and Scott’s story as well as follow alongside Katie and Chamberlain’s reunion, and we get to know the adorable Marissa, who is the perfect mix of the best of both parents. I am so excited to continue reading the next books in this series. If you like romance and are a fan of persevering characters who deal with real-life issues, you’ll love this series. Taste of Honey includes three stories all containing adult content and are very spicy reads, definitely not intended for a younger reader, so be forewarned. I loved that each story is a short read, but the storyline is so in-depth that you don’t even realize you’ve already gotten to the end until you’re there. It is so encapsulating, and what a great ride they each take you on, leading you through the dark world of adult content where most do not normally go except in a book. The characters are all very different in each of these stories, yet they all have a similar theme of trying new things that they never saw themselves trying out, but that appeal to their deeper desires than they ever thought possible. I love that the steam factor in each of these stories is just the right mix with the storyline, making it important but not all-encompassing, allowing the reader to enjoy each character’s build-up and background stories. I love reading Sinister Styx books, and this one was no exception. What a great short story that shows the perils of what happens when fate steps in. This book had drawn me in right from the start. I knew that there would be trouble in paradise between the two main characters, but I had no idea that it would go to such extremes so quickly. Think that you’ve got this story figured out as you read, think again as the author throws in a wicked twist at the end. I cannot read more from Sinister Styx; she has an amazing way to develop storylines that grab a hold and draw you in right from the start.
