My kids love dinosaurs. They’ve asked me to read this to them multiple times since we got it. I loved that these books taught about teamwork and my young kids were able to pick up on it. Everyone would love this book, its good for younger kids, but as an adult, I really enjoyed it also.

I picked up this book to read to my 2 year old niece at night since I was babysitting for a couple of days and she really loved it. The adorable friendship between Conifer and Spike brings warmth to anyone’s heart. The pictures are extremely cute and dinosaurs are always a hit with my nieces. If you are looking for a short book to read to your kids or to teach them how to read, I think this book would be great for you. My favorite was Saving Conifer’s Eggs. I definitely think this book was a win.

This book had two really good stories for any child just starting to read. Both stories dealt with how friends working together can solve a problem. The characters were funny and nice, plus who doesn’t love dinosaurs. I highly recommend this book for anyone who has small children that love stories about dinosaurs.

Conifer and Spike are dinosaurs and they are best friends, in this book we hear two tales of their friendship and how even though sometimes they disagree, they work together in the end.

In the first book, the nearby volcano is erupting, all Conifer wants to do is run away, but Spike insists on giving the volcano a present and decides on a necklace, so together they move a ring of stones around the base, but will this keep the volcano happy?

In book 2, Spike and Conifer return, but this time there is a forest fire, they both agree that they have to leave, but Conifer only has two hands and three eggs! Will they all be able to escape the fire?

This is a book for young and old alike in this tale charming tale talking about science, dinosaurs and of course friendship.

Another book that I picked up for a teacher friend’s classroom and this is a perfect addition because it is two stories in one book. I loved the illustrations and that both books shared the same characters. I loved how they were able to teach one another to solve a problem. I also loved that the friends were able to comfort one another when things were happening, and they wanted to run away. This is a splendid example of not being afraid to confront a challenge head on. This is a terrific book for early elementary readers although there are a couple of words that may be a bit difficult for them. But if you use that as a teaching tool then they will be perfectly fine. Highly recommended for kids and classrooms alike.

I got these two books because my 10 year old is a dino nerd. He reads all kinds of dinosaur books . These books have two simple stories, both revolving around an Ankylosaurus and a T-Rex. In the first story, the Ankylo, Spike wants to give a present to a Volcano which is dormant and would’nt erupt. He builds a necklace out of rocks around the Volcano, and when the volcano indeed erupts , it is the necklace which stops the lava from overflowing to the ground.

In the second story, the two dinosaurs have to escape the wild fire. When the T-Rex , Conifer is finding it hard to take three eggs in her two hands, Spike accidentally knocks down a tree by impatiently swinging his tail. The two dinosaurs escape the forest into the river on the tree.

What is not to like about these books, nothing. This book is meant for kids, and me and my son had a blast reading these books. Looking forward to more on dinosaur series from this author.

It teaches them it is okay to be yourself and true to your feelings. I will be reading this to my child. I am a fan of this author for future children’s books.

This is a super cute, two book download about two dinosaur friends working together even when they have different ideas. The illustrations are great, too.

In the first book, Conifer (a female T-Rex) notices that a volcano is erupting and wants them to run to safety but Spike (a male ankylosaurus) wants to give the volcano a present. The friends work together to figure out what to do.

In the second book, Conifer is sitting on her next of three eggs when Spike runs to warn her that there is a fire. This time Spike is ready to run but Conifer can’t leave her eggs or carry them all to safety. Again, the friends work together on a solution.

These stories help youngsters understand that working together will not only solve the problem quicker, but it will also help friendships strengthen. Dinosaur Friends: A Present for the Volcano

This story was short and sweet. It’s a story of Spike and Conifer who are best friends. Spike sees an unhappy (erupting) volcano and wants to give it a present. The two friends build the volcano, a necklace of stones, which is made to look like a ring of stones around the base of the volcano. Eventually, the volcano fully erupts and the friends go running. When they stop to look back, they realize their necklace of stones is blocking any flowing lava.

Dinosaur Friends: Saving Conifer’s Eggs

This is another short and sweet story about Spike and Conifer. When the forest where they live catches fire, Spike comes to warn his friend, Conifer. Conifer isn’t sure what to do since she can’t carry all 3 eggs with only 2 hands, and she has to be very careful that they don’t break. When Conifer is worried about her next, Spike waits impatiently and ends up knocking down a tree with his long tail. The two friends use the tree to safely escape the forest fire by using it to float down the river.

My niece and nephew always love when I bring them a new Wickstrom story book; she is one of their favorite authors. This book was even more exciting for them, two stories in one. These stories followed Dino friends Conifer and Spike on two different adventures. Along the way the two learn about kindness, working together, and understanding just to name a few skills. The story is well written and with excellent illustrations. I would recommend this as well as Wickstrom’s other books for elementary ages kids, or kids that are struggling with their reading levels. Overall an adorable story with a moral.

These were really cute books! They are not the first I’ve read by this author and I always get excited seeing new content from her! Overall I really enjoyed these books. The illustrations are beautiful and the story in both can be very relatable for children of a young age.
In both the books the main characters Spike and Conifer work together to overcome each other’s fears and problem-solve to help one another. I read both of these books to my daughter and she loved them. She loved looking at the pictures and pointing to the dinosaurs while I read the stories. They caught her attention as well as my own right away and as an early childhood educator, I am looking forward to introducing these well-written and illustrated stories into my classroom!
I would highly recommend these books to anyone with children or as a gift for a child who loves dinosaurs and reading!

This book is a 2 for one book, just flip it over for the next story. Spike ( an ankylosaurus) and Conifer (a tyrannosaurus) are friends and work well together. Sometimes they disagree but most of the time not. When a volcano in the distance is erupting what do you think happens next? In Book 2 there is a fire and Conifer has got to save her eggs. Spike comes to help her and they make a plan to get to safety. Where do you think they go? I will not give out spoilers! I have been following this author and her children’s books. They all have something new for the children to learn. The illustrations are just as interesting as the story itself. I recommend this book to teachers and children alike.

In the second story, there is a forest fire, but Conifer, has laid 3 eggs, and she only has 2 hands. Her friend Spike comes to help her, but he walks on 4 legs. A Present for the Volcano
I thought this was a great children’s book. It was short and to the point with just enough repetition to help those that are just getting acquainted with reading. Even in just a few pages it showed being mindful and kind even with a big, angry, scary volcano!

Saving Conifer’s Eggs
Spike and Conifer are at it again in another short and to the point book about problem solving and friendship. I had a lot
of fun reading this short adventure with my 6 year old. Added bonus, we love the illustrations.

Two books in one with Spike and Conifer, two dinosaurs who have formed a friendship helping one another. The first book is about a volcano ready to erupt and how Spike and Conifer come up with a solution to temper the situation. The second book is about Conifer’s eggs that need saving and coming up with a solution that not only saves the eggs but helps Spike too. Both books are fun to read with great problem solving skills that are easy to engage the young readers into helping figure out what will happen next.

A Present for The Volcano speaks volumes about perspective and perceptions. Conifer was worried all day and just wanted to get out of the situation, but her friend did what they could to make the situation better. They prepared and took action, and while it was questionable how it would turn out, Conifer decided to trust her friend and help. And in the end, she was able to see from a different point of view. These stories are adorable. Mama Conifer T-Rex and her ankylosaurus friend work together when a problem comes up. Even when things look dark, they find a way. The artwork is amazing too. I love the textures and the colors. I definitely recommend both!
