This is an amazing book that has the steam, action, and suspense. What happens to the characters will take you on twists and turns that you didn’t see coming. The secrets and lies that are revealed in this book will have you thinking about what happens next. The immense need to know more will have you constantly turning the pages and not putting the book down. I finished this book in a day because I had to know what happens next. If you have read the previous books in the series, you won’t be disappointed with this one. I feel like each book gets better and better. If this is the first one that you have read. You must go back and read the rest of the series. The growth with the characters is amazing and I love how the author gives us glimpses of the previous characters. When I say this was one of the best books I have read this year I am not lying. It is such a…. Wonderful doesn’t fit the bill but it is a wonderful read. You instantly fall in love with Katrina and TJ. You find yourself rooting for them and their created family. Then Katrina starts explaining things from her past that brought her to TJ. That’s when the story gets you hooked even more. Like can’t put it down hooked. Katrina and TJ are instantly thrown into turmoil when she has an episode that puts her on edge. However, TJ’s mom fills Katrina in on a little family secret about TJs grandparents. I love how his whole family just brings her into the family. I do believe that people come back to us in the way they are supposed to and this story gave me goosebumps once the family secret was revealed. This was a quick read for me, but it was also very hard to put down and stop reading. It was THAT good. It’s one of those stories that makes you have all the feels. I was crying right along with Katrina and my heart broke right along with TJs. I would love to see this as a movie and see these characters come to life. The epilogue answered some of the questions I was left lingering with but I so wanted more of this story. This author did a phenomenal job with her writing this story and making you fall in love with all the characters.

This book was a complete slow burn with a few twists that I didn’t see coming. It was wonderfully written and the characters all had growth throughout the book. Anna has set terms to this “fake” relationship that leave Phillip unsure of how to act or behave. Everything is going swimmingly with these two and their relationship until something happens and Phillip seems to think he knows what is best for all parties involved. These characters are relatable and the dialect that is used throughout the book really makes you feel as if you are in Scotland. I highly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves a sassy female lead. This book is a quick read because it is a constant page turner. You will find yourself wanting to know what feisty Anna is going to do or say next, or you’re waiting to see if the shell that Phillip surrounds himself by will come crashing down. I really enjoyed traveling back in time to 15th Century England and felt as though I was there with the characters. I enjoyed following the journey of young Isabel as she navigated her way through the customs of the time-period. I could feel her inner struggles as she tried to deal with the overwhelming emotions she experienced while trying to please everyone around her. How difficult it must have been for her to be forced into a marriage to a man she did not love because that man that was chosen for her by her father. I sensed the raw emotions she was feeling as though she had no choice but to do what was best for their society and for both families. I enjoyed the storyline, the plot, and the world building. This book was a magical read that contained drama, love, romance, and heroines and heroes. I highly recommend!

Elizabeth is my hero. She is a single mom working to recover from a bad divorce. She has a crappy ex and an ex-sister-in-law with a bad attitude. This poor gal has family drama coming out of the corners. You name it, she’s dealing with it. Toss in an ex-boyfriend who’s now the police chief (he happens to be investigating a murder). You’ve got drama, murder, romance, humor. Who needs ‘Real Housewives…’? I’ve got Elizabeth and her issues. I fell in love with this story. So relatable because the struggles are real. She’s just trying to take care of her family and dig a little time for her. She got duped into an “opportunity” to sell lingerie but, oops….her upline was murdered. Now, she’s stuck with this large investment to try to get rid off. I do fell the murder took a back seat while the other issues got more front line but it all ended coming together nicely. I don’t think I’ve laughed quite so much. Minus the murder, I’ve lived most of that life. My favorite part was watching Elizabeth grow and discover what she wanted as a person and going for what was important to her. It can be sad to see the romance not work out but to see her grow was exhilarating. Good book that I will recommend to all.

This book had a bit of everything and didn’t disappoint. I haven’t read the rest of the series before jumping into this book but I will be reading every book in it now. The book tackles serious issues but with a sense of dignity and class that is not always given in your typical sport romance books. It is based around hockey and the leading male character shows huge growth throughout the story. The leading female character seems to be the perfect match for the main man. She has a job that requires her to pay attention to non-verbal ques from others. This sets the tone for some serious topics which are eye opening and allows you to fully connect to the characters in the book. This was a good quick read but not one that you read and completely forget within a few days. It makes you become fully immersed into the book and the details allow you to feel like you’ve been reading it forever when you haven’t. I don’t mean that in a bad way but when you don’t want a book to end because it is so good, you get that feeing with this one but don’t feel like the books ends out of no where. I can’t wait to go back read the rest of this series. I highly recommend if y’all have a day to devote to reading, this should be the book y’all pick up. Reviewed by @bbohls

This is one mystery book that sucked me in and did not disappoint in the story line. Clancy and Joel experiencing something traumatic as kids that followed them into adult hood. Then mixing in the war and some bad PTSD on top of their love for Lorraine.
Garrison wanting to find his family and Molly wanting to solve a crime uncovered the truth that had been hidden all these years. Also led Garrison into finding his family and Molly uncovering a hidden truth about her own.
This book was so hard to put down and not finish in one sitting. The way the story goes from past to present and linking it all up in the final few chapters.
This has to be one of the best mystery books I personally have read in awhile. One that added a few twists and then bam shocker!

Levi is Book 1 in The Brothers of Creekside Ranch series. In it we are introduced to the Delaney Brothers who have been left to look after Creekside Ranch after losing their dad and stepmom. On top of running the ranch, they have been faced with the difficult task of how to care for their now orphaned nine-year-old sister, Allie. Running the ranch is a full-time job so the brothers are unsure how to properly care for their little sister. Ex-Navy SEAL Levi is finding the task especially daunting and feels that he is far too busy with the ranch to have to worry about how he is going to try to raise his kid sister. An opportunity presents itself when an old friend asks Levi for a favor and needs somewhere for a person in the Witness Protection Plan to hide out. Levi decides to bring her to the ranch as their new Housekeeper and Nanny to their little sister.
Bella has found herself in the Witness Protection Program after helping to get her abusive ex-boyfriend, Dimitri, arrested. Bella and Levi instantly clash and butt heads with one another. Bella, an English aristocrat, comes across to Levi as snobby. His brothers, on the other hand, find Bella charming and fawn over her every chance they get. Levi comes across to Bella as bossy and rude. Although Bella is still struggling with how Dimitri hurt her, she has a problem with him thinking that she must follow his every order. Levi is fighting his own demons. Although the two butt heads, they also feel inexplicably drawn to one another. Bella feels compelled to help Levi and Levi finds himself jealous when his brothers shower Bella with attention. Will Bella and Levi act on their underlying feelings?
I loved the wholesome story of Bella and Levi and enjoyed reading to see if either would let their guard down long enough to let the other in. Bella may have seemed snobbish at first but there was more to her than that a prim and proper appearance and good manners. Deep down she was full of grit, determination, and hidden strengths. Levi came across as harsh and cruel initially, but he was fighting with the trauma of his past. This book was full of action, suspense, mystery, love, and good old fashioned family values. A great read!

Nathan is popular, drop dead gorgeous and part of the group of popular kids in high school. The girls drool over him and want to be with him, and the boys want to be him. He is so terrified of having his secret discovered that he has built up lie after lie to protect himself. He bullies and torments anyone that is less popular than he is and keeps everyone at a distance so he can keep his secret from being discovered.
Holly has just started attending Nathan’s high school and is determined to be one of the popular kids so she can fit in. On her first day of school Holly approaches Nathan and the rest of the popular kids and asks them if she can sit with them at their table for lunch. She is instantly shot down, mocked, and left to feel inferior. Naturally after treatment like that from Nathan and his friends Holly is disgusted when her and Nathan end up as lab partners. Although she finds Nathan to be gorgeous, she also knows how much of a jerk he is and wants nothing to do with him.
When Holly accidentally discovers Nathan’s secret everything changes. Nathan decides the best way to handle the situation is to pretend to like Holly and ask her out. As both Holly and Nathan get to know one another better they fall deeply in love. When Holly finds out their relationship is a sham and based on a lie she is devastated. When the web of lies start to unwind both Nathan and Holly’s lives are changed forever. Will Holly and Nathan ever be the same afterwards?
The characters of Holly and Nathan were wonderfully written. Both were typical teenagers battling all the typical drama that comes with high school. Holly was a true sweetheart who saw there was more to Nathan than he let on. Nathan acted like a jerk on the surface but that is not who he was nor who he wanted to be. It was all an act to protect himself and enable him to navigate his way through high school. This book was wonderfully written and described very well the cliques, the bullies, the mean girls, the jealousy and all the rest of the teen drama that comes with high school. High school can be traumatizing, and a great deal of importance is placed on fitting in.

I absolutely LOVED this book. It tells the story of Katrina, TJ, and Toby. Kristina is a pregnant artist who moves to this small town. She ends up meeting the “man from her dreams and paintings.” At a furniture store. They have this whirlwind romance that is truely one made for movies. Kristina has her baby Toby, and her mind starts getting foggy. Things just arent making sense. TJ find kristina over in a ditch and finally makes her get help. This is a story of love, and knowing its okay to get help after having a child if your struggling.

This is the first book I’ve read of this series. It tells a story of a ballet school in England. Lauren can see ghosts, this is where we met Grace, and Rodney. Lauren’s classmate Alfie is obsessed with ghost hunting. Will he find out about Grace and Rodney? Will Lauren get the part in the biggest talent show?? It’s a great read as a stand alone or read the whole series.

Between Darkness and Light is Book 3 in the War of Destiny Series. Julia has been shunned by her Ka-tet since betraying them and aiding Valentino, King of the Vampires, in his efforts to destroy them. Her betrayal not only tore the Ka-tet apart but drove Mathew from the group. Julia feels extreme remorse over her betrayal and is attempting to repair her relationships with the Ka-tet but none of them, nor any vampire in the Resistance, trust her. With her already tenuous relationships with the Ka-tet Julia cannot bring herself to confide in them that the voices in her head told her to do it. They already think she is crazy and telling them that she hears voices and sees people that are not there will only cause more conflict.
When the Resistance Leader, Samuel, suddenly disappears Julia is forced to enlist Mathew’s help to find him. Mathew has created a new life for himself, so Julia’s sudden arrival is unwelcomed, but he reluctantly helps because of his friendship with Samuel. Before long, Julia and Mathew realize that there is something far more sinister at work and they must work together before it destroys them.
The author did an amazing job of building up the story from the second book. I loved reading to see how Julia dealt with the aftermath of her betrayal and what would become of the Ka-tet. I devoured the book as I read on to see what would become of Julia’s visions and the voices she heard. Was she really losing her grip on reality? Samuel was devastated by Julia’s betrayal, and it was destroying him. Samuel’s emotions were so real and raw that my heart ached for him, nearly bringing me to tears. How could he possibly ever forgive her when she threw him away so easily? This book was sensational, and a must read! I highly recommend!

Pursuit into Darkness is Book 2 in the War of Destiny Series. The journey with Julia continues as she has been working on her powers for the past 70 years. Life with Julia and Samuel have been quiet since Julia took his offer to help the Resistance but that all changes when Valentino arrives to destroy Samuel and Julia who have become a threat to his power. Julia and Samuel feel ill prepared to do battle and instead Samuel, Julia and the Ka-tet decide to flee the country. When fleeing does not work, they are forced to battle Valentino before he destroys them all. Julia is forced into a battle to save her life and those of the ones she loves while also saving herself from the impending madness that is slowly consuming both her mind and soul.
I loved the character of Julia and admired her strength, courage and resolve in the face of danger. Although at times I must admit that I doubted her sanity and there were a few times that it appeared Julia was slowly losing her grip on reality. Samuel was a complex man who was haunted by memories of his past which spilled over into the present. Book 2 really picked up from where the first book ended, the action intensified, and it took a dark twist that I was completely unprepared for! I highly recommend this book!

It took me a minute to get into the first one as the author was building up the story, but once I was hooked I was hooked!!

Truly could not put this book down. I fell in love with Phillip, Roxanne and Claudette from the get go and the author did not disappoint!
My heart broke for Roxanne when she was seeing the ghosts of her son and husband. The heartache she experienced and then to uncover the truth about Claudette’s brother and giving them the best gift.
I literally smiled when Roxanne and Phillip were given the truth in the last few chapters. I am so glad the author let them have such a wonderful happy ending. They both deserved that so much after so much tragedy in love happened to both of them.
I personally love stories like this one. It puts you in your feelings and then doesn’t stop. You get attached to the characters because there isn’t many and they bring you along for the ride.

Julia has no other choice in the matter but to try and fight him. Her mind is being attacked. She thinks she’s going insane. This danger is unlike anything they have ever faced before. The whole ka-tet’s safety is at the stake. Can she find a way to get passed the voices in her head and stop Valentino? Will she ever stop doubting herself and everyone else? He’s not kind in any way. He’s a monster with no mercy. Julia tries to keep the people she cares about safe from his wrath, but it’s becomes harder and harder throughout their 3 years of marriage. Her husband finally does the unthinkable. He lands a blow to Julia that devastates her and she can’t see a way out. When a stranger shows up and offers her a way out she takes it. With nothing else to live for she agrees to a deal that will change her life and destiny forever. Said agreement will grant her freedom, but there is ALWAYS a catch! Accepting this deal will put her into a vampire resistance against a strong vampire king who refuses to step down and he’ll destroy anyone who is against him. Will Julia accept? Will she choose freedom and another enemy just to be rid of her husband? What will her husband think and do? Will Julia end up dead no matter the path she chooses? And will her love ever forgive her for all she has kept from him? What an interesting book! It took me a little to get into because the author was building the story and slowly sucking me in, but man oh man was it good! I can’t wait to read the others in the set! If you haven’t given this one a chance do it!! Read half of it at least! If you aren’t sucked in by then I would be really really really really surprised! Give it a chance! You won’t regret it!

This is the first book I’ve read by S.F Benson. It’s the first book in the series and it’s sooo good. The fantasy and parallels are soo good. Dr. Death’s reign is killing everything there and will soon begin spreading to London. Evaline is determined to stop them…but it requires finding the Firestone. I am so excited to read the rest of this series

The Detail is the perfect amount of suspense and romance, not only does Dana captivate you with this suspenseful thriller she also gives sexual tension. This book is a quick read but definitely a page turner.
Jessica is trying everything she can to track down this killer, with the help of her very attractive partner Seth. Right when they were going to confront their attraction for each other Jessica goes missing as well as Seth’s prisoner “the killer”.
I really liked this mixture of the two book genres coming together, more often than not romance and suspense thriller don’t collide like this and I enjoyed it.

Cora Croft is finishing up her last year of high school at Palmer High School in Colorado Springs. Cora is a young lady interested in pursuing higher education, something that most women do not consider in the year 1899. When her teacher mentions an opportunity for Cora to become Nikola Tesla’s lab assistant Cora is determined to seize the opportunity. Before long, Cora finds herself wrapped up deeply in a mystery as Nikola Tesla’s previous lab assistant has mysteriously ended up dead and important documents containing Nikola Tesla’s top-secret designs have been stolen. Tesla is at his wits end over the theft of his documents and is determined to pack up his lab and move back to New York. However, Cora not wanting to miss the unique experience to work with such a brilliant man offers to help Mr. Tesla figure out who is behind the theft.
Cora reluctantly enlists help from Harrison Byrne, a man whom she despises no matter how charming he seems to be on the surface. She also asks her friend Marshall, a man with whom she has known for years and trusts with her life. As the trio starts to investigate farther into the sudden and mysterious death of Tesla’s previous lab assistant and the top- secret documents they start to uncover something that is far more sinister than they could have imagined. When there is another death, Cora, Harrison, and Marshall quickly realize that their own lives may also be at risk.
I loved the character of Cora and found her to be inspirational. Cora was smart, feisty, and wise beyond her years. No matter who or what tried to stand in her way Cora was determined to battle against the social constraints of the time to pursue her dreams. Harrison seemed a bit arrogant initially as he liked to tease Cora and seemingly mock her, something that really irked Cora and made her despise him. Eventually, as I read farther, I learned there was more to Harrison’s character than I had thought at first. I soon realized that although he may appear almost condescending at times in his tone as he spoke to Cora, deep-down Harrison had a big heart and deeply cared about those around him, especially Cora. This book contained several twists and turns throughout with a surprise at the end that really caught me off guard. I highly recommend this book!

Blood & Vengeance was a very quick, enjoyable read. When Desiree finds herself in the hands of a vampire wanting redemption, it’s up to her to convince her friend/demon and fellow vampire hunter Theron of his Innocence. In doing so, they find themselves in the cross hairs of an angry witch with one thing on her mind. Capturing this vampire. They must come up with a way to defeat her and ensure that they can live another day. While this is part 2 in The Casket Girl series, it can be read as a standalone.

This book is in the YA genre and I feel that anyone would appreciate this book if they like supernatural stories. This book is a very quick read and can be finished in a day. The characters in this story have great depth and feel real emotions that any teen would feel in this type of situation. Moving to a new town can cause anyone some anxiety but throw in missing kids and it just hits different emotions. This is also a prequel to the series and I am hoping it will give some more background into the characters as the series continues. I felt a little disconnect with them during this story but not enough to make a huge difference. The mysteries in the book keep you hooked throughout and turning the pages to see what happens. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series to continue to build on these characters and to continue the mysteries. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes a quick read with lots of mystery.

I LOVE this book. It’s time warps you back. The descriptions are so amazing and it feels like you are right there with the characters. Definitely one of my favorite series to read this year! You see a lot of growth within the Agneson clan in this book.

Maia and Fig are looking for stones to build a tower. Their friend Trezzie, who is a mermaid, gave them a special stone – a stone with a design on it. Trezzie, Maia and Fig build a magnifying glass using water droplets to see what the design is. They find that it is a creature – a trilobite fossil, a creature from long ago. It is amazing what we can find in nature, and how we can use nature to study the world around us. This a great book addition to any children’s or classroom library.

I loved how this story played out. Levi being the “jerk brother” to Bella (AKA Beccy) when he brought her to the ranch to be a nanny to his little sister Allie. I loved how Bella and Allie became close and how she really did lift the girls spirits.
I was rooting for Levi and Bella from the get go and loved how the author let it play out naturally.
The intensity and drama started in the last several chapters and I could not stop because I was on the edge of my seat to find out what was going to happen.
Having PTSD I appreciate how the author added in the behaviors that Levi was struggling with. Then to get help thru a support animal, my heart kind of melted when Bella took Levi to meet Sargent.
I read the sneak peak for Amos and can’t wait for more from these brothers!

To be honest I didn’t know what to expect when I began reading this. This book has a target demographic of young teen but let me tell you it is such a cute quick read that I, a grown woman, loved. It has the typical teen drama like gossip, not liking the younger students, and the normal growing pains. This book has an amazing storyline and great characters that everyone can relate to, whether that is a teen or an adult reliving their childhood. The whitty ghost really makes this a page turner. I wanted to know what would happen next. There are great life lessons in this book that I wasn’t expecting. I would highly recommend this book to any one. I would especially recommend it to any teen that is starting to have a love for reading. They will relate to it and feel accomplished since it is an easy read. If they pick up on the life lessons in the book that is just an added benefit. Reviewed by @bbohls

4 out of 5 stars because I was worried for Ellawyn’s life. This book is amazing and so sad how Ellawyn had to leave her life behind due to some troubles she had. Other wise of that I would gave this book 5 out of 5 stars. But when she finally found a place where she can be herself and feel like she is protected, she has no clue that those dark storms come back into her life. But true love found its way to her through the bookstore she loves to go in and stay until closing and found comfort. So I have to say the Author had me so sad at first and sacred when Ellawyn was in danger. But happy when Backett came alone for her.
