Slay It With a Diamond (Diamond District Mystery Book 3) by Rob Bates – Review by Jayme Raffauf

Slay It With a Diamond (Diamond District Mystery Book 3)Slay It With a Diamond by Rob Bates
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Though I have not read the prior two books in the Diamond District Mystery Series, I had no trouble understanding the characters and their dynamics. This was a fun read that kept me guessing until the very end. I loved the various family dynamics and Mimi is a super relatable lead character. I mean, who doesn’t love a book about a cursed diamond?! Slay It With a Diamond is a fun mystery book and I look forward to reading the rest of the series and more books from Rob Bates.

We get to see their struggles, victories, and emotional journeys in a way that keeps the reader interested from the beginning. The love story in the book is written beautifully, with just the right mix of passion and sweetness.

What makes this book special is how it shows what life is like in the world of professional sports. I loved this book. I have read many M/M love stories but this was one of my favorites. I have read books from this author before and I like how she integrated the coffee shop from the other book. The writing in this book made it a fast read, but it didn’t feel rushed. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a cute and relatable Christmas love story.

Dark Moon Secrets is a paranormal romance by Lilliana Rose. We follow Tanjie and Alaric in this story. Tanjie is an orphaned young woman. She lives on her own in an apartment bought after her parents died. Alaric is the alpha of shifters and he hates witches. When they are brought together we get a fun and adventurous enemies-to-lovers story. The story is well-written. The world-building is cool. The characters are well-written. I love the relationship that Tanjie has with Caleb and Mia. I also really liked the chemistry between Tanjie and Alaric. I had a lot of fun reading this story.

This was my first read by this author and it was a great introduction to her work. Where most authors usually make the rich character the man, this book actually has the woman as the wealthy one. This author does a great job of drawing your attention and keeping you intrigued. This was a great book and I enjoyed it.

Christmas Cove by Sarah Dressler – Review by Darian Vester

Christmas CoveChristmas Cove by Sarah Dressler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Most Christmas stories are predictable, what’s nice about this one is I got some wrong.
Going in I was worried about the instant connection with America and Leo. Their chemistry felt like they’ve known each other for years. I laughed at all of her “dateline” worries. Would have been hilarious for her fear to have been something around that for the bonfire. But when we actually get to see what was on their letters my heart exploded.
I do wish we would have gotten more with the situation with Leo’s brother. Especially since the book doesn’t feel like it ends on a cliffhanger.
I loved all of the characters we meet, they’re all so happy but I still felt the different personalities, they weren’t flat.
I really just recommend this book to anyone who loves Christmas romances or wants to be put in a Christmas mood. This definitely had me wanting to play Christmas music and pray for snow.

Book 3, Year 3

Year 3 had me hooked, I couldn’t put it down. I was lucky enough to have some time away from work so I could devour it undisturbed. This book, left me on edge and unsettled quite a bit (in the best way). I truly couldn’t put it down.

This should NOT be read as a stand alone, but I promise the first 2 are fantastic as well. I can’t wait to read book 4.

Wicked Games (Hidden Valley Elite #7)Wicked Games by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Though this can stand alone you don’t want to miss the prior books in this series to understand who Shane is before this book starts.
Shane starts the series where we left off facing manslaughter charges for punching a guy for Erica the girl he was providing body guard services for. Thankfully video evidence clears his name but not everyone is happy about that outcome.
Enter Winter, a girl from Shane’s past, a girl that absolutely tormented him when they were kids and Shane has a plan for payback. What he doesn’t anticipate is the explosive chemistry and he’s caught between wanting revenge and wanting Winter.
She doesn’t remember Shane but he will make sure she does.
As always at the cliffhanger I literally say outloud to the author bro why you gotta play me like that???
But I’d read everyone of them over again and again full well knowing I’ll be desperate to read the next story because these characters are finally coming full circle and I’m going to be devastated when the series is over.

Detective Dylan and the Case of the Missing Mail is the first book of the A Young Sleuths Chapter Book Series. This book is such a sweet chapter book about Dylan. Dylan is a young boy who is eager to put his Young Sleuths kit to use. We follow Dylan and his younger sister as they solve the case of the missing mail. This book has such a good example of teaching kids about attention to detail as well as problem-solving. It also encourages teamwork. The illustrations are also very cute. This was a very encouraging story for young children.
