Swindler’s Revenge is Book Five in the Karina Cardinal Mysteries Series. Karina’s newest adventure finds her single after her and her FBI boyfriend Mike broke up. Now he is in a heap of trouble after being accused of taking a large bribe and running away with 1.2 million dollars. On the run as a wanted fugitive only adds to making him look guilty. As his ex-girlfriend, Karina is also someone of interest to the FBI. Although Mike is her ex, Karina does not believe for a second that he is guilty of taking the bribe. It seems that someone dangerous is determined to frame Mike and Karina is equally determined to clear Mike’s name and get to the bottom of who is responsible. The situation becomes intense as Karina delves into the case with the help of some friends. This book had danger, drama, mystery, tension, action, suspense, witty banter, and a bit of romance. I love how feisty, determined, strong, and independent Karina is. Bring on Book Number Six!

The seemingly innocent package turns out to be a magnet for all sorts of criminal elements which leads Karina into a world of danger. Karina and her friend Rodrigo find themselves facing certain death and it could mean the end for them both. This book had action, suspense, mystery, drama, danger, suspense, humor, crooks, killers, swindlers, and an ancient Egyptian death mask. The characters are unique, quirky, lovable, and feisty. Bring on Book Five!

Diamonds and Deception is Book Three in the Karina Cardinal Mysteries Series. It is a cozy mystery with action, adventure, danger, mystery, suspense, secrets, lies, and a diamond heist. Karina again finds herself in the middle of a mystery when her sister calls her asking for help. Their friend has been accused of stealing some diamonds and Karina and her sister are determined to clear her name. As the two sisters delve into the case, they come face to face with criminal elements that would have been better off left alone. The tension and suspense escalate as the secrets and lies are revealed. The storyline is intriguing and really draws you in because it has been so well written and clearly well researched. The character of Karina is smart, strong, feisty, and determined. I look forward to reading Book Four.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This is an amazing ending to the duet and the entire series. It picks up right where Wicked Games ended. I would not start the series with this book. I think that is a given but I am just saying it. All of the books should be read in order in this series to really grasp onto the characters and their struggles. This book gave me some twists and turn from previous books that I didn’t see coming. It is what kept me on the edge of my seat reading this book. I loved seeing the other characters of the series in this book. I love the secrets that were revealed and it made me fall even more in love with this series. This book has the mystery, the steam, the amazing character development, closure, and suspense that make it a page turner. I couldn’t put the book down. I got mad at anyone who dare try to talk to me while I was reading. It is that good!!!! This series will be one that I will continue to reread, probably every year. I feel that with this book it almost makes you want to reread the whole series just to see if you can pick up on any hints throughout the other books that you missed the first time. This book is highly addictive and into it knowing you aren’t going to get much done but reading.

A bittersweet time, the end has come to this series. We pick up where Wicked Games left of with Shane and Winter. These two have already been through so much. Much of this book is spent dealing with and resolving the issues from their past. Many of the mysteries are solved. I do believe that these two turned into my favorite couple for resilience and strength. The battles they went through. The gang was in this story also: Cole, Damon, Phoenix, Riley, Skylar and Aspen. Mom and Grandad. Even Uncle Lucas had some issues resolved. The book will tie things up. I recommend you read this series in order. It really isn’t meant to be a standalone. It is one of the best darn series I’ve read. My favorite for the year.

It has action, adventure, murder, drama, danger, intrigue, suspense, and romance. Karina is off sleuthing once again as she tries to solve the murder of a senator. A bit of a tricky situation for her as she is also a person of interest in the case. She also has a budding relationship with her old college friend Mike, whom she became reunited with in Book One. Karina is determined to clear her name and delves deep into the case digging for clues as to who the real murderer is. The story takes some twists and turns as the tension builds. A great storyline with admirable characters. Karin is smart, class, courageous, and feisty. I look forward to book three.

Karina is a lawyer and lobbyist working on Capitol Hill. who fancies herself as an amateur sleuth in her spare time. When she goes to a fancy dinner party at the home of her boyfriend’s wealthy parents, she spots something that seems a bit odd. In her boyfriend’s father’s library, she sees what looks like the stolen masterpiece that had been robbed from a museum. Having only caught a glimpse of the painting before it disappeared behind a secret hidden panel Karina is uncertain if this is indeed the stolen masterpiece worth millions of dollars. She wants to investigate farther but is conflicted because not only is this her boyfriend’s wealthy father, but anyone that encounters the painting dies a horrible death. With her every move being monitored, Karina is unsure what to do. A wonderfully written story with an intriguing storyline based on a true event. The character of Karina is smart, strong, independent, determined, and feisty. I look forward to reading book number two.

Rise of The Y is Book One in The Y Chronicles. It is a YA post apocalyptic dystopian novel full of adventure, danger, secrets, and a quest to find the truth. It is set in a world where food has been turned into bland bars because humans are considered too wasteful. Decisions on who to have as your mate, what job you have, and where you live are made for you. These decisions are based on tests and genetics. The story centers around a young girl named Lexi who refuses to live her life under a dictatorship and decides to rebel. She is strong, smart, courageous, and pigheaded to a fault as she does what she wants. An intriguing storyline with interesting characters. I look forward to reading more in this series and see where the story goes.

This set of books was so different for me, but I have loved EVERY SINGLE ONE so far! This is a sequel to another book (The 45th Parallel), but it is also an extension of another set (The Antipodes series). Which was also AMAZING!!! You really have to read the previous books, because there is SO MUCH information you will miss. They connect with this book so you will be lost in many ways. You COULD read it and kind of follow along, but just read the others first!! You will not regret it! Just trust me on this! I found myself lost in these stories. Rooting for certain characters and not liking a couple. Feeling heartbroken for some and wanting to reach into the book and hit an idiot or two. Hehe. The worlds that are created in these book are amazing and really make you think about the possibilities of something like this truly happening. You can just see it all in your mind unfolding. This would be a WONDERFUL show/movies series in my opinion! A virus has wiped out the planet. It’s in the water and kills everything it comes in contact with. Plants, animals, and humans aren’t safe. Scientists and the government came up with a plan to save as many people as they could by setting up bio-domes around the world (you learn about all this in the first series of books). Yes! So interesting right?!?! You HAVE to read these sets!! Both of them!! In this book, Caitlin and her new husband Gio travel to Canada to become new ambassadors for the ACC (Association of Collective Communities). The ACC tries to bridge the gap between communities (not at all easy!), come up with solutions to any problems that may arise (there are SO many!), and offer new opportunities that will benefit all the communities AND all the generations to come (can you even imagine!!). Keeping everyone safe from the virus. but also still growing and thriving is a hard battle, especially when space is so limited! Caitlin proves herself in many ways and is respected by her people. She helps where she can, gives everyone new ideas, and helps make things more efficient. All great for a new leader. But as she builds her family with her husband an old enemy comes along and threatens everything!! Their security, their loyalties, and their lives. You will not want to put this book down! I don’t want to give anything away, but man oh man will this have you on your toes and gripped into your seat. Tragedy strikes (again!), revenge comes about (ugh. again!!), and everything they’ve worked so hard for could be destroyed (again!). The world ended guys! Can’t we just get along! The future looks bleak bleak bleak! I am not at all sad to say that I stayed up a little tiny bit to late, so I could finish this book. LOL! I can’t wait to read more from this author. I am so invested in these characters and world!!

This was such a great read! Sloan’s journey was both captivating and deeply emotional, making it impossible for me to want to put this book down. A mythical land that was cursed and is suffering a plague that kills people as they stand. The magic of the moon is so captivating, that, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look at our moon the same. The second half of the book half really picked up pace and swept me up away in the whirl wind of adventure. It was all so fantastic! I highly recommend!

This was a quick read for me but I loved all of the action and excitement. Jorja traveled to Istanbul to meet up with her bestfriend Gabrielle only to find out later that she had been abducted. Torn between who Jorja could trust in a foreign country and who she couldn’t, she has to find her friend. I found this book to be the perfect little mystery thriller. I recommend this book.

This is the first book that I have read by author Cambria Williams, as this is her debut dark fantasy novel, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book and her writing style.

The Befallen is a strong debut novel, in all honesty, I would not have guessed this to be her first book. Her writing style is so smooth and lyrical. I devoured it in one sitting. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, and definitely to those who enjoy dark fantasy. The thing I loved most about this book though is how it is a representation of disability but still being able to make such a big impact and change in the world.

The characters in The Befallen are well developed and easy to love, as well as relate to. You can tell Cambria Williams put a lot of thought into her world building as well, and it is absolutely spectacular. Even though there technically are “slow” parts where you are learning in depth about the characters, it did not feel slow. The author engages you on a deeper level and it just feels natural. The story is a wonderful mix of “info” and plot.

This is a story that will take you on a journey, that has a strong message of faith and hope. It is such a beautiful experience to see, and feel how the MC’s, Sloane and Sir Tolvar, crave to find their self-worth and place in the world. Sir Tolvar is looking for redemption and Sloane is wanting to be seen more than a “cripple”. As some who struggles with a disability, there were an insane number of parts where I just sat and cried. I felt Sloanes pain and longing as it is mine.

Sir Tolvar and Sloane set out to find a cure for the curse that has caused Sloane so much pain, and in the process Sir Tolvar also strives to become a better man. The journey is a waterfall of emotions, so get ready to be on a rollercoaster. The characters have so many obstacles they must overcome, and I held my breath at every single one. There are times where I was angry and frustrated at what they were being put through, and at other times I was jumping for joy cheering them on.

The ending is so beautiful, and I look forward to reading more from this author!

Baking a Bicycle is a children’s book that centers around the character of a young boy named Caspian. When he asks his Grandpa for a bicycle for his Unbirthday he receives a box full of Baking Up Dust. Now Caspian wonders if that will work to bake a bicycle. This was cute story full of magic and fun that children of all ages will find delight in reading. A great way to teach young children how much fun baking can be. The illustrations were bright, colorful, and really brought the story to life. Another great book by this amazing author!

Ghost Takes a Vacation is Book Two in the Genie and Adriana Darling Series. It is a cozy paranormal story with ghosts, humor, witty banter, adventure, murder, mystery, hauntings, and ghostly escapades. The story centers around the character of Genie who pairs up with the ghost of her deceased great-great aunt Adriana to solve a mystery. In order for Adriana to hold onto her otherworldly powers she needs to hold onto her possessions which requires a quick trip to Tuscany where they have been placed up for auction. While in Italy, Genie and Adriana stumble onto a mystery that involves arson and manslaughter. It is up to the dynamic duo to find the real culprit responsible and clear the name of the man who has been wrongfully accused of the crime. Adriana and Genie get into hi jinx along the way and mayhem ensues. I love the quirky characters and how Genie has her ghostly great-great aunt helping her solve mysteries. The storyline was unique, funny, and had me reading until the end to see what happened next. I look forward to reading more of the adventures of this quirky duo.

Doombringer is a dark fantasy book full of danger, action, adventure, magic, monsters, secrets, lies, and prophecies. The story centers around the character of Oden who has recently lost his wife and has been left to raise his young daughter on his own. His village has been ravaged by war and their future looks bleak, but Oden is determined to do whatever it takes to shelter his daughter from the doom and gloom of the world around them. He uses magic to keep his daughter’s world looking hopeful but each time he does so he slowly loses a piece of himself. When war looms again, Oden is determined to save his daughter and the world. This was beautifully written story set in a dark fantasy realm with vivid scenes that pull you into the world alongside the characters. The relationship between Oden and his daughter is magical and truly heartwarming. This story had war, loss, hope, love, perseverance, and strong family dynamics. I look forward to reading more by this talented author!

This story really hits home if you have ever dealt with grief of any sort. The way that everyone in the book is reacting and dealing with their grief, allows the reader to see the various ways that grief can be dealt with. Not all of them are healthy ways but that is what really connected me with the characters because everyone grieves differently. There is a twist that happens in this book which I fell really made the story. It wasn’t expected but was so incredibly well done that I can’t imagine the book without it. The growth that the characters have individually and with each other is amazing and shows how having someone to help you through grief can be beneficial. The forbidden romance that happens is amazing it is a slow burn because of the grief that the characters are dealing with but it is there and it seems organic. This was a quick read for me because I got sucked into seeing how all the characters not just the main ones were handling things and if things would get better over time. This book has it all from relatability, raw emotions, love, steam, and growth. Over all, it is a win and probably something I will read again.

This is the second book that I have read by K.L. Smalls and I absolutely loved it. Rusty’s grandpa gave him a brass ring that allows him to on an adventure every time he is on a carousel. He had enjoyed these adventures, so he wants to give his grandpa a gift in return  and Christmas is the best time for that, but with very little money Rusty isn’t sure what to get him, so he finds Santa’s Christmas Carousel at the local mall and hopefully he might come up with the best gift for his grandpa. This an amazing Christmas story and it tells a little bit about another journey that I won’t spoil. It’s a wonderful book and I am glad that I got a chance to read it.

This is an emotionally charged book. Right from the start it deals with the grief from the death of Milo’s brother. Grief is an individual item that we all process differently. We can tell in the story how each character processes it in their own way. Benji was Kellan’s best friend. He promised not to mess around with Benji and tried to keep that promise. This is an intense story that will have feeling every emotion the character’s do. The story is well-written and developed. It’s a very good readd.

I loved every minute of it. I was drawn in right from the start by these two. This is part of a series but it can be read as a stand alone. It’s an excellent romance for those seeking action-packed. I recommend it.

Well, this was an expected romantic treat. I thought Claire was just another spoiled celebrity when I started this. It turns out that there is fa more to her than people give her credit for, even her family. She has multiple degrees and is a pretty smart cookie. One night at dinner with Candie, she meets Nick. He’s cute, also a smarty guy. He’s very creative and an artist. These two are from two different sides of the track. Watching this develop was painful at times but necessary to the story. It kind of felt like “don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” I enjoyed the story because you did get to see them grow up and mature into what they wanted, forget the paparazzi.. I felt the characters were fairly well-developed. The storyline was good.

Wow! I really enjoyed this book. It truly pulled on Caitlin and Gio’s relationship. Caitlin went through getting married, starting an Ambassadorship, becoming a parent. She was basically dealing with becoming an adult and dealing with those issues that life can through at us, only more. I felt sorry for her because it felt like she had so much piled on top of her. Gio just wanted to love and take care of her. She would tend to push him away. I love how Illy helped her to deal with those issues after a catastrophic event. This book is intense, a little traumatic in parts but also very good. I couldn’t put it down. I was in it for the long haul. Life kept getting in my way but I”d pick up the story again. I did love catching up with familiar faces. I do have to say that as for Francesca, I go with Gio’s vote. I can’t wait for the next book to see where here new position takes her. New things are still in store for Gio and Caitlin and I can’t wait.

Jorja Knight always makes for a fantastic read. She is an investigator I thoroughly enjoy reading. In this story, she’s in Istanbul and her bestie, Gabs, is missing. The author does a wonderful job of taking us on a mysterious adventure through the city. Jorja is following every lead she can. I don’t know how she’s not creeped out when her room is gone through.There are twists and turns through the story along with colorful characters that makes this an amazing adventure. A story I definitely recommend for mystery lovers.

This is a neat book filled with affirmations for the Asian boy. The illustrations are colorful. The affirmations are positive and focus on doing good things. Honestly, these are affirmations that all boys need to be told. This is a wonderful book that will be a good addition to any family library.

This was quite the interesting book. I love this author’s writing. It always leaves you thinking. This book leaves you wondering after reading these conversations between Old Coyote and Andrea. Andrea is a college professor that took her life in the Arizona desert. She and Coyote end up having some intriguing conversations about life and death, and some of the adventures Andrea had during her life. I found it thought provoking, interesting, sensitive, and even entertaining. This author has always written about Coyote in ways that tend to make you question and maybe even want to know more about Indigenous people and their culture. It’s an excellent book and one that I would definitely recommend.

Incredible romantic suspense. Cade is a hot security guy I’d want protecting me. Kiera is one I wasn’t to sure about but I’m glad she came into her own as the story developed. This is a story with action, romance, danger, mystery that will have you on the edge-of-your-seat holding your breathe to see what happens. The characters are well-written and it’s nice to see them develop as the story develops. IThis is a fantastic story that really leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait for the next in the series.
