Ritual Obsession: Blood Obsession by RL Dunn – Review by Shavon Brown

Ritual Obsession (Blood Obsession Book 1)Ritual Obsession by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So I am going to start this review with a few warnings:

Warning 1: There is a very detailed scene of Sexual Assault in this book. It happens to the character named Bobbi. It is very hard to read as she is raped.

Warning 2: This is a very good book, but it ends on a major cliffhanger and nothing has been resolved. We know who did it, but there is a great chance he could get away with it, Someone is in the hospital fighting for there life.

With those warnings in mind for future or almost readers. Truth is I could not put this book down, it was definitely a page turner.

Rose the veteran detective and Rose the new detective to the precinct get partnered together but that is not all. A string of murders of working girls gets the whole precinct involved including Detective Commander Marco, who is an old flame of Detective Rose.

Honestly, IMO this book plays out like an episode of Matlock. Where you have all the pieces as the reader or viewer but you are waiting for the detectives to put everything together. They do get there but by the time they do it seems a little to late.

Their is drama for our drama lovers as we have multiple office romances including, Marco & Rose, Bobbi & Max and Rose & Brian.

Like I said in my warning. This book does end on some major cliffhangers so if you want the conclusion to the story you will need to pick up book 2 and keep your fingers crossed.

Broken Chains by Karina Kantas – Review by Alexandra Leith

Broken ChainsBroken Chains by Karina Kantas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is NOT for the faint of heart and this is your trigger warning. It is a very dark Mafia romance that is full of intense suspense.

Elizabeth is a young woman who left singing and writing behind to join the M15 after meeting a man named Alex. Things are going great in her new career until she receives a coded message. Elizabeth soon finds herself being hunted down by 3 mafias and she has to fight for her life. She faces things that would break most people’s minds and likely never survive.

I love Elizabeth. She is a strong, intelligent and caring woman who has been forced to experience unspeakable things and yet she rises up to each challenge and fights.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who isn’t afraid to face the ugly head on and see the beauty that flourishes from it. Trust me Elizabeth’s journey is worth it!

Breaking the Girl: A Dark Suspense Romance by M.C. Webb – Review by Jana Teppih

Breaking the Girl: A Dark Suspense RomanceBreaking the Girl: A Dark Suspense Romance by M.C. Webb
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Breaking the Girl is my first read by M. C. Webb. She hooked me from the first page – “You are a salesman. You have to sell yourself within a few seconds or people get bored”. This quote could no doubt be used to reference M.C. Webb as her job as a writer is to hook me (the reader)!
It was an unusual and unexpected love story between a porn star (Alex) who makes x-rated movies for https://www.watchmygf.xxx/ and a girl looking to be trained by him (Payton). The story was an emotional rollercoaster that at times was disturbing to read (there is a graphic rape scene towards the end of the book so if that is something of a trigger, please take care and be prepared). This story got to me on so many levels, one would say how can you relate to the story but you need to remember that this story is about people, people who have their painful pasts that have molded them to who they are today aka where we start in the story.
There are other impressively written characters in this story and that adds to the different layers and are vital to the story and in us understanding Alex and Payton. I loved M. C. Webb’s writing style very much, I had no issues to follow the story line, I loved how it went from Alex’ point of view to Payton’s and vice versa. For a while there I was not sure if there will be a Happily Ever After ending but in the end, the characters pulled through and as Alex says himself, “Although we are not a traditional love story, we are a love story.” I will go back to this writer for some more stories!
