I really liked this book. However I really feel like it should be read with the rest of the series. It wasn’t terrible read as a standalone. But if I could go back and make the choice again I would read the other 3 first.
The way that Theresa tells a story, makes you feel like you are part of it. I truly felt like I participated in every single word!
I will definitely read more of her books!

This book was an absolute whirlwind. I’m not the biggest fan of Stephen, but who knows what the 5th book will bring. There is a very intense and graphic scene about 80% percent through the book, but compared to the first, it’s pretty tame. I started this book early in the morning waiting at the mechanic, and I meant to just do a little reading before bed, but before I knew it, I was sucked in and lost in the writing. I 100% recommend this book and the other books in this series!

Yet another wonderful book full of mystery! I think this might be my favorite Fitz book so far! I was completely sucked in and finished it in a few hours. I love that we got to see more with Hudson and Stella in this book, and more from MJ, Andy, and Fitz’s dad. There were so many things the author absolutely sidelined me with, and things I for sure didn’t see coming. I honestly can’t get enough of this series. It’s so well written, executed well, and a fantastic read all around. Definitely recommend.

I had this sitting on my TBR for about a month before I started to read it. The first chapter threw me for a loop, and I was hooked. It is very graphic, so proceed with caution. But it does instantly pull the reader in. I was absolutely hooked on this book, I know for sure I’ll be reading the next one. I’m very impressed with this author, I absolutely love it.

Theresa Sederholt always knocks it out of the park, and this is no different! With the family together again in the fourth book of A Fitz Series, there is drama, romance, suspense, and murder. The flow of the story is amazing, and I continued to enjoy the different points of view throughout.

Andy is no stranger to the prejudices towards gay men, but now he also has Parkinson’s which adds an extra level of difficulty in every area of his life. His daughter, Stella, means the world to him with her strength and resilience. Helping her grow into her own path with her deafness and her deceased mother seems to present its own unique struggles, but he finds a delicate balance with the help from his family. Andy’s ex, Stephen, tries to rekindle their flame but Andy knows there is no way back to the love they once had. All too suddenly, a serial killer intent on murdering gay men changes their lives forever.

I read this in record time because I could not get enough. With so many unpredictable turns in our wonderful characters’ lives, I needed to know what happened as soon as humanly possible. You will not be disappointed in this jaw-dropping book!

Read this if you:
*Enjoy romances filled with suspense and mystery
*Like a fight for family and love
*Believe in living in a world without labels

Meet the Author: Theresa Sederholt loves to write and tell stories. Her passion lies within bringing awareness and understanding by dealing with subject matter that is intimidating to navigate. She enjoys whipping up steamy romances filled with suspense, sprinkled with mystery. When not writing, she enjoys cooking with her husband, spoiling the dogs, and spending time in her backyard.

Synopsis: Andy has taken on huge responsibilities in his life, dealing with a diagnosis of Parkinson’s and adopting a deaf child whose mother is murdered. Stephen decides this is all too overwhelming and leaves Andy to fend for himself and Stella alone. When Stephen realizes he made a huge mistake he comes back to Andy. Amongst this, there is a serial killer on the loose targeting gay men. The murders are being deemed as suicides. Andy’s brother Fitz doesn’t believe these men are committing suicide and begins to investigate. When Stephen and Andy end up on the “to be murdered” list, Fitz kicks his investigation skills into high gear. Will he be able to track the suspect before it is to late?

Reader’s Thoughts: This was my first time reading a novel written by Theresa Sederholt. Although I’m Not Your Difference is the fourth book in the Fitz Series it can be read as a standalone. The characters in the novel sent me on an emotional roller coaster ride. At times I disliked Stephen for what he was doing to Andy. And at times I wanted Andy to realize how remorseful Stephen truly was. The love Andy shared with Stella tugged at my heart strings. And the selflessness displayed by Andy…….WOW! MJ and Fitz as side characters really brought life to the story. I cant wait to get my hands on the remainder of this series.

This is the 4th book in the series but the first book I have read by this author. I’m unsure whether the book is intended to be able to be read as a standalone but I have to admit that in the beginning I felt as though I had to have read the previous books to get understand the dynamics of many of the characters. This didn’t stop me from really enjoying this book though. I’ll just have to find time to read the 3 books that came before this one.
In this book Fitz is working on the case of a serial killer who is killing gay men and making them look like suicide. This case comes a bit too close to home when his brother in law Andy becomes the target of the killer.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It’s full of drama, danger, intrigue as well as romance. I particularly loved Andy’s relationship with deaf daughter Stella as he tries to teach her about being different and accepting people for who they are.
The author has an excellent skill for character writing. I was so engaged with the characters and could really relate to their story.
Definitely recommend but would advise to read the others in the series first.

This is my first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed the book. The characters are amazing and you can relate to them.
Andy is trying to get his life back in order after Stephen left him and their daughter alone. Leaving Andy devastated and trying to come to terms with Stephen leaving. Once Andy is back on his feet taking care of Stella and moving ahead with the help of Fitz and MJ, he is ready to move on.
Stephen unexpectedly contacts him and asks to meet. Andy agrees, if only to have his say, something he never had the chance to do before. Andy finally feels the confidence to move on. Stella is his focus now, even though Stephen will always have a place in his heart, he finds his closure. However, Stephen’s world, is not what he has expected and seeing Andy only confirms what he’s been afraid to admit all along—he’s made a huge mistake.
Now Stephen has to work hard to win Andy back, so they can have the life they were supposed to have. While Andy and Stephen are trying to figure things out a serial killer, who is targeting gay men, has other plans for them both.

So the only one man who can put all the pieces together in time to save them is Fitzgerald “Fitz” Rodriguez.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow, Book 4 and I cannot get enough of this series…..definitely a roller coaster of emotions that I had to really hold on to and was at the edge of my seat not wanting to be disturbed while I was totally engrossed in each page.

My heart broke for Andy when Stephen left him, especially after wanting to adopt a child and Stephen wanted Andy all to himself. When Stella came into Andy’s life…there is so much love between Andy and Stella..especially after the tragic events with Stella’s mother, Effy. When Stephen starts to second guess his decision on leaving Andy the only thing he wants is to reconnect. Lurking is a serial killer whom targets gay men…and Stephen and Andy are on that list. Will Fitz and his crew be able to save Stephen and Andy from this killer before it is to late?

This story gave me a lot of different feelings….the hurt that Stephen did on Andy….betrayal, suspense and just so many emotions.

With the help of Fitz and his crew…..they are determined to find out how deep the lies go.

This series is truly fantastic. If you love suspense, intrigue, a game of cat and mouse with a roller coaster of emotions…this series is for you!! The amount of word building and the details this author puts into her books is truly phenomenal!

Silent Innocence (A Fitz Series Book 2)Silent Innocence by Theresa Sederholt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Silent Innocence is the 2nd book in the series and I can say this story was quick a thriller for me, sitting at the edge of my seat. I recommend reading this series in order as characters in the 1st book are in book 2 as well.

Detective Fitz Rodriguez is to be on “vacation time” to spend quality time with his beautiful wife when Fitz gets a call just to review a case as a second pair of eyes. Little did Fitz know that the case would lead to a definite cat and mouse game of murder, suspense, lies and in the middle of this chase innocent mother and her six year old child. Definitely nothing is what is seems for sure in this story. Will Fitz be able to solve this case before time runs out?

This continuation of this series is fantastic. Told in multiple points of view, it is so easy to follow and the story just flows. I am totally blown away and love the storytelling of this author. This story hit a few nerves with me and broke my heart at places for sure…but what a great story…..

Detective Fitz Rodriguez is all about protecting his loves ones and also has a keen eye for details when working a case. Fitz is on the hunt for a serial killer, who is totally ruthless…..Mark Chambers. When Mark Chambers decides that his ultimate prize is Makenna Justice…Detective Fitz will do anything to protect Makenna from this serial killer.

This story was hard to put down…..I needed to keep going and turn the pages on what happens next. This author’s is top notch! The thought process of a serial killer, methodical thinking from her characters point of views, this story!! The details seem so real!! So well done!!

Andy is struggling with losing the love of his life but gaining a child he would do anything for, but when life gets complicated, can Andy truly find the balance he requires to feel normal again.

Stephen has love Andy from the beginning even when they received the devastating news of his diagnoses but Stephen feels that adopting a child could leave them lost and pressure which he feel Andy does not need, so making the hard decision to walk away and leave the family unit is devastating but when a threat is found, can Stephen really walk away from the man he loves?

This as all of them can be read as a stand alone book but it would be advisable to read the first and third book to have some understanding regarding the main characters in this book. Andy is a lovely character who is feeling lost and slowly feeling he is becoming his diagnose, due to Parkinson he is being sheltered and wrapped in cotton wool which is feeding the demise of his self esteem, so when he decides to adopt Stella the dynamic in the relationship between his husband changes and evitable ends in separation, they only problem is neither is convinced.

The story also gets Spicer when Fitz is brought in to try and find a serial killer who is killing gay men, so when his brother is in the cross hair it is a race against time to try and find the killer before anyone else is hurt.

This story is full of the usual thrill of the chase which is now associated with a Fitz book and this does not disappoint. I always love the way that the author writes in a multi point of venue and you get to see in the minds of all the characters and piece together the mystery and twists. I have to say this was my favourite book so far as you got to delve in the relationship of Andy and Stephen who all along has seemed so loving and caring but as all relationships has had there struggles. I hope this series continues and if so can’t wait to read the next thrilling instalment.

Fitz and MJ are on holiday chilling before they welcome their first child but work is never far behind, so when his boss calls him to have a look through a case he can not resist, but although it is only a quick look he ends up being embroiled in the case when he meets the 5 year old he can’t leave alone.

She is lost and alone, but her mom should have been there but when she is a weird environment, she sees him who is kind and I trust he will find her mother.

This story is a stand alone and is a brilliant story from the first chapter. The characters as in the first one are brilliantly and well developed and really enhance the book and drive the story along. I loved the character of Fitz in the first story and he does not disappoint in this book. He is dedicated to finding the mystery and reuniting the mother with her daughter, although the story delves into the darker side of life Fitz tries to strive to help.

You also get to see the relationship between him and MJ grow from strength to strength with the pressures of work and relationships.

I can’t wait to read the next book to see where there relationship goes and what Fitz will be involved in in the future.

Fitz is now retired but still wanting the thrill of the mystery he and his friends decide to help people who need helping, so when of his friends needs answers he is willing to jump in and find the answers they require.

Bailey is lost, she does not understand why very one close to her are holding something back, so when she decides to get Fitz involved to help her uncover the secrets, should she have kept them in the dark rather than showing them the light.

This is the third book in this wonderful series and this one does not disappoint. You can read this book as a stand alone but unlike the second book their are extra characters which appeared in the first book which you may like to have some context with so reading the first book may be beneficial to you.

I loved the twists and turns of this book and seeing the crew together with friends and family was a brilliant addition to drive the story along with interactions and the sub dramas which happen along the way. The character of Fitz is a great multi level character that offers and drive within the story which you are happy to go along with and see the drama through his eye. You also have the character of MJ who is always there in the background grounding all the main characters and is also a complex character herself.

This story is complex and is well written to have you charging through to help Fitz find the mystery to help Bailey discover the truth and it is a great story.

I can’t wait to delve back again into the world of Fitz and MJ in the next book in this series.

There is a serial killer on the loose in New York and Fitz is on the case, but when the case turns more closer than home. When things start escalating can Fitz protect his family and solve the case before anyone else gets hurt.

Mark is honing his skills but when she comes into his life there is no one else who can quench the desire within him, but she is protected so he has to be skilful try and make her his.

This was the first book I had read by this author and it was brilliantly written with just the right twists and turns to keep you engaged in the book from the first word to the last. I loved the character of Fitz he was flawed and had depth to hold your interest. I only thing I had an issue with is I felt the end of the story was a bit rushed, this did not distracted from the story but for me just a little of a let down.

I loved the different point of views and looking into their little bit of the world and how each mind worked and perceive what was happening in the others.

This is a brilliant book and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This is the fourth book in the Fitz series. This story follows Andy and Stephen, two homosexual males who have a past. Andy is the single father of Stella. Andy has Parkinson’s disease and his adopted daughter is deaf. Stephen did not want to raise Stella and top it off with Andy’s disease, it was too overwhelming for him, so he left. Stephen and Andy agree to meet. Andy just wanted closure, but clearly Stephen’s heart has not moved on. Now he must find a way to get them back. Now they are dealing with a serial killer – of gay men. Such an emotional read but a really, really good one too!

It’s not a mystery to the reader who is the murderer in this story as it starts out with a chapter from the killer’s perspective. We then follow Fitz who is a police detective in New York. He is working with Captain Jack to hopefully find the serial killer before he strikes again. During the investigation we met some of Fitz’s chosen family. One of those turns out to be MJ. The same woman who has had a crush on Fitz since she was five. MJ sometimes struggles with the level of protectiveness that Fitz displays, and also her long held feelings for him. Fitz does everything he can to hunt the killer, but keeps his family number one always. I had to keep reading to discover what was going to happen. I was fully invested in the characters and the story from the start! In Uniquely Mine you can find crime, romance, and family devotion.

By the time this story picks up, Fitz has decided to retire from the police force and work with some family at a private detective agency. He has two children, and is a loving, devoted family man as he has been since the start. The Medical Examiner, Gail, that Fitz worked with has a friend who needs his help. Bailey Davis has been widowed, and it seems as though she is drowning in debt that her husband left. As Fitz begins the investigation, some secrets are discovered that can change everything Bailey thought about not only her husband, but friends as well. Even her dog, Sad Sack, plays a vital role in solving the puzzles. Read it to find out what answers Bailey is left with at the conclusion of the investigation!

Read the first novel in the Fitz series, Uniquely Mine first!!
In the second novel, Silent Innocence, Fitz is brought into to discover if there is a connection between a string of recent kidnappings and the murder of one girl. While he was walking through the precinct, he saw a little girl, Stella, who was in tears. Fitz discovers Stella is deaf, and signs with her to communicate that he is going to help her. It is discovered that Stella’s mom, Effy, has also been kidnapped. Through his investigation Fitz encounters a friend of the murder victim, Hudson, who is a lot of help to him in finding the truth of what has happened to the girls. I love how fast paced these stories are, and how vivid the details allow the reader to be fully immersed in the story!

Read the first three books in the Fitz series before proceeding.
The fourth book focuses on the relationship between Fitz’s brother/best friend, Andy. Andy is a single dad. He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, but he doesn’t want that to hold him back. Andrew, his ex-husband, wants to meet Andy to see if they have another shot. Meanwhile, Fitz has begun an investigation into some deaths of homosexual men that were all ruled as suicide. The deeper the investigation goes, the more Fitz is convinced that there is a serial killer who is targeting homosexual men and Andy might be next. A page turner once again. I am a HUGE fan of this series and was SO excited to read the newest installment. As predicted, it did not disappoint. It has been a long time since I read book number three, so I could have easily reread it to refresh my memory but I couldn’t wait to dive right in. Literally my only “complaint” is that I had a foggy memory when it came to some of the characters. Of course, this in no way impacted the storyline or quality of writing.
I love that not only does this book have action and suspense it has well written and developed characters with a genuine bond between each other. I feel as though not only are they closely connected, they’re written in a way that feels like they’re my best friends too.
I can not recommend this book (or series) enough!

This is the fourth book in this series and the best yet. This series keeps getting better and better with every installment. This is an author that I have enjoyed from the first book I picked up. This is a well written story where the author used their writing skills and attention to details to make the story pop. This is a great romance story that has some twists of suspense added to it. A story about two people who are trying to make things work but a serial killer has something else in mind. There are a lot of things happening in this story but the author did a great job of keeping me engaged. The characters are strong, connectable and supportive of each other. They had me coming back for more. They made the story easy and entertaining to read which just added to the story. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

This is a series that I have enjoyed right from the beginning and I love this new addition to it. This book is easily my favourite in the series so far. I just loved getting to know Andy and Stella, their relationship seemed so precious and exactly what they both needed. And I was really rooting for Stephen to find a way to be a part of the family again.
Then came the mystery and intrigue of the killer targeting them. For me, that just added a whole new layer to the story and made it so much more enjoyable. The author has really caught my attention with this book and I could not put it down. Not only is this an already strong series – this book for me is fantastic all on its own.

What a Story! Not what I expected! This series just keep getting better and better! I loved how this one brought out the emotions! I was sickened, enraged and saddened. Oh there are good times but the main story..at times I just wanted to cry. I have many…many sections highlighted as there is much wisdom in here.

This is the fourth book in the Fitz Series. While it could be read as a stand alone I would highly recommend reading the series in order. The reason is that the characters are given to the reader in bits and pieces. Through the stories they each show up and the family grows larger with additions.

We have previously met Stephen and Andy. I adored them and was devastated at how Stephen acted. Now he is back and wants Andy to forgive and forget. I admire the backbone that Andy has in this story. His life has not been easy but luckily he has the love of a great family.

Fitz and his team or family have really outdone themselves in here. I am still reeling from all the trauma and suspense that happened in here. It is an honor to hang out with Fitz and his family/friends.

I look forward to more from this author!

After his husband left him, with just a note, Andy has worked hard to pick up the pieces of himself. Just as he is finally ready to dip his toes back in the dating pool, his ex, Stephan, comes back around wanting a second chance. Andy talks these things through with best friend and brother-in-law Fitz. In this process, Andy finds out that there is a suspected serial killer killing guy men in manners that suggest suicide.

Will Andy hear Stephan out? Will he allow him a second chance? Will Andy find someone new? Will Andy end up in the cross hairs of a killer?

I’m Not Your Difference is the fourth book in the Fitz Series by Theresa Sederholt. While this story can be read as a standalone I will note that I believe reading them in order would probably give better background, history and depth of the characters and how they came to be in each other’s lives. Many of the support characters seem to have been in the series from the beginning which is what led me to the read in order suggestion. I personally have not read the first three books. I did fall in love with many of the characters present in Andy’s story and cant wait to go back to read the other’s stories. I would absolutely recommend this book.
****NOTE I will note that there are some graphic non consensual scenes and violence in the story that may be a trigger for some.****
