Deadly Alliance is a Fortis/Purgatory crossover novel. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this collaboration as this is my first experience with the Purgatory novels, but this story is fabulous. The story line keeps things moving and it is easy to connect to the characters. I love that there are a lot of strong females working alongside the alpha males.

In this story, Emme and Shane have to go undercover to help catch a killer who is targeting women that look like Bea, the leader of the Purgatory team. As they get closer to uncovering who the killer is, Emme’s life is in danger. Shane would like to believe that the angst he feels is fallout from losing his best friend’s sister to this maniac, but he knows he is lying to himself. He seems to have developed feelings for Emme, which is distracting him from the mission. If he wants to keep Emme safe, he needs to hold it together. After a horrible tragedy, Shane knows what he has to do, even if it breaks Emme’s heart.

Deadly Alliance starts out a little on the slower side, but it picks up a few chapters in. It becomes an intense tale that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering how it will all turn out.

AMAZING!!!! I love Maddie Wade and I love India Kells but together these two were phenomenal! When I saw these two had joined together to collaborate on a story I couldn’t wait to start it and I will admit I did have high expectations and they were met above and beyond what I thought. I loved every single minute of it. The two authors writing melded together perfectly, the storyline was fantastic and the characters were amongst some of the best I have read about so far this year. I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough as I was so captivated by everything that I was reading. There was suspense at every turn, it was action packed and so incredibly well written. There were plenty of twists and turns that kept me guessing about what was going to happen until the end.
Deadly Alliance is an incredible story written by two very talented authors who I really hope will team up again in the future!!

This was a quick read full of suspense and action. It’s told in 3rd person and it is a wonderful meshing of two fantastic series. I’ve read most of each series and it is my opinion that you can read this crossover even if you have not.

Even though this is a collaboration between two authors, it is written seamlessly. Had I not know I would not have guessed there are two different narrators to the story.

I appreciate that there are strong alpha females who are equal partners to their male counterparts.

I absolutely recommend this story.

This story completely drew me in and I was surprised and shocked over a few things that happened. This is a great meeting of these two agencies. I have never read the Purgatory Series but I have spent many a lovely evenings with Fortis Security. Meshing these two together is so seamless. It’s like they have been together all along. I certainly didn’t feel like I was reading two different stories.

It was nice meeting some new characters and seeing how they interact with each other. I get to hang out with some old favorites as well. The story moved along and I never got bored. There was excitement, some thrills, some wit and sass banter.

Doing this was a brilliant idea and hopefully (please *grin*) a new spin off will result. perfect title as well!!! I love reading each of these authors and blending them together just about made my day. After hanging out with Bea and her crew I need to check out the Purgatory series.

I absolutely loved Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/ Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade & India Kells! I love these authors individually, but they are absolutely phenomenal together! This book took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions which kept me engaged the whole way through. This book was intense, suspenseful, detailed, intriguing, steamy and action-packed.

I had previously read the Fortis series but hadn’t read any books from the Women of Purgatory series by India Kells, yet I found it very easy to follow along. There was plenty of backstory and character introduction that made it super easy to jump right in.

These characters are so strong and inspirational, and I always enjoy reading their journeys. I will absolutely be diving into the India Kells series as soon as I can. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next suspenseful read!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade and India Kells was a fast pace, heart pounding thriller that had me hooked from start to finish.

Not my first read by either author, and it may have been the reason I snatched this book up. Cause both authors on their own are pretty amazing, so there was no way I was passing up on this collaboration. I wasn’t disappointed and very much enjoyed this engaging thriller.

So lets be real, again I find myself wondering if I’m being biased or not. This has to do with Emma, and how young she is, not so much that is is a young woman, but that it’s brought up, a lot, way more then needs to be. And the whole innocent thing, that was another thing that irked me. She’s a grown asss woman, there’s nothing innocent about her. Especially considering she joined Fortis, they aren’t exactly saints. I believe I said this before, but unless you’re a child or an animal, you ain’t innocent.

Okay rant over.

Overall this book was pretty good. It was action packed, heart racing and steamy. What I liked the most was the hunt for the serial killer. It added that intense mystery to the very intense romance. But I will say, having Emma as the “baite” made for a bit of a predictable storyline. Especially with Shane still in recovery about his friends sisters death. So yeah, saw that coming, but because of was smooth, quick fire writing, I was kept engaged, my eyes were kept glued to the pages, and I was kept in the story. I want to stress this, that though yes, you’re going to guess the outcome pretty quick, but the writing is so good that you can’t look away. That and the characters are just a delight to read about. Not just the MC’s but all the characters.

This book is a must read if you’re a fan of these authors, even if you’re not, this story is worth your time. No worries if you think you’re going to get lost, it’s kind of a side story so you can read it like a standalone. That and you’re given enough info that it feels like this is a start of a series, not a one off. Believe me when I say, you are going to be glued to this book. It has this “Criminal Minds/John Wick” feel that just keeps you captured.

So please, take my high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get lots in these dangerous pages.

Happy Reading

This is an enjoyable story from two great authors. This story has a little bit of everything in it from sitting on the edge of your seat suspense to nail biting revenge. Shane and Emme took me on a journey of building bonds and facing dangers that they may not be able to see coming. I enjoyed both of these characters and the growth of their friendship. Will they break each other’s barriers and realize that they are better together? I highly recommend this book to find out what happens to them.

Deadly Alliance is an exciting Fortis/Purgatory crossover novel by Maddie Wade and India Kells. When I heard that two of my favourite authors had got together and written a crossover novel, there was no questions asked, it was a no-brainer, I just had to read it!! I love the Fortis series by Maddie Wade, as well as the Purgatory series by India Kells- so the thought of combining the two was incredibly exciting for me. I must admit that I had a lot of expectation for this book and I am happy to say that the authors didn’t let me down- although I don’t exactly know what I had been expecting, because I went in blind, but they delivered much more than I had hoped for. From the gorgeous cover, to the incredible writing, to the action-packed and gripping storyline, and the fantastic characters- this book has it all!!!
This is a romantic suspense- with action, adventure, emotion, danger, thrills, intrigue, mystery, undercover ops, drama, intense chemistry, tension, serial killer, teamwork, spice, and romance. The authors managed to hold the tension and suspense at an elevated level throughout the book- which kept me guessing and had me flipping pages to find out what happens. The brilliant twists and surprises also elevated the thrill level up several more notches.
Shane Rhodes and Emme Wallace are highly skilled agents from the two different teams, who find themselves undercover and posing as a married couple in the hopes of flushing out a serial killer, whose body count is mounting. As one of the victims is Shane’s best friends’ little sister, the investigation has a personal aspect that drives Shane- and he’s determined to hunt down the killer. But the mission is a bit more complex than just solving a murder, testing them, and resulting in some electrically charged moments, intense action, and heart-racing suspense- that makes this story soar!!
The authors styles compliment one another, as I couldn’t tell which parts were written by whom. The story was polished and really well blended, and the whole thing felt like it had all come from one mind- which is testament to these authors writing skills and compatibility.
I am hoping that these two will team up for more crossovers/stories in the future, because this book works on so many levels and I love how the two worlds combined! But in the meantime, I will continue to devour everything that they produce, either individually- or together!!
Brilliant!!!

Thank you, Ms. Wade and Ms. Kells!

The story Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade and India Kells is an amazing crossover book that I absolutely loved reading. It is a book that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put down until I had read the final page. It has an atmosphere of suspense and mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It is a page turner that is action-packed. Both the Fortis and Purgatory covert agencies are working together on this case and it is one that includes danger at every turn. I loved reading about the characters of Shane Rhodes and Emme Wallace. This case is personal to Shane and he is determined to find the serial killer who murdered his best friend’s little sister. He is an agent that is calm under pressure and knows how the undercover game works. So when he is teamed up with Emme who he believes to be young and less experienced he at first finds it hard to trust her. Emme is a woman who has been chosen to be in the line of fire on this mission. She may be young however she has the confidence of her mentor and others. When Shane and Emme meet they both affect each other more than they will admit. She is a distraction and she finds him very attractive. They soon find a passion and connection between themselves. Will they admit to their feelings for each other or will they push each other away? Are these two soulmates that have found each other? A serial killer is on the loose. Will they be caught before more lives are taken? Read this story to find out. This is an amazing story that I highly recommend. It is wonderfully written and a pleasure to read. There are some steamy scenes that are included in this story that will make the temperature in the room rise. I enjoyed reading about the other characters that make up the Fortis and Purgatory teams and how they banter/interact with each other, Shane, and Emme. Don’t miss out on this book.

Deadly Alliance: A Fortis/Purgatory Crossover Novel by Maddie Wade & India Kells. Wow, I just love the Fortis Series but have not read the Purgatory series (don’t worry I intend to after this book), but this book is a fantastic read and the crossover is done extremely well. Good work ladies! The Fortis group are family and with just the few characters from Purgatory I already like what I have seen and I certainly look forward to the new group that Maddie and India have indicated maybe coming (well I hope that it is coming). There is never a dull moment in this book, action, you betcha, drama, yep, murder and mayhem, definitely, hot alpha men, oh yeah, kick arse women, sure is and they all come together in one compelling, enthralling, engaging and fantastic story. Maddie and India have worked their magic and come up with something that is magic.
